We went on a Sunday, had to wait 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast. The  food was average, nothing I'd go out out of my way for and I wouldn't wait in line either. Our waitress was good, but nothing here stands out. If you are hungry and in the area, it's a safe bet, just don't expect anything above average.

When we lived in the area this was one of our go to breakfast joints. The food is always delicious, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.  We have never had a bad dining experience here.

'Tis a fine and simple place for a quick breakfast.  Reminds me a bit of Canters in the Fairfax District of L.A.  Waitresses have seemingly been there since day one:  From friendly to no-nonsense ladies.  Everything I've ordered since my first time here has been top-notched:  Nothing fancy or outstanding, just good ol' fashioned food to start the day.  Egg and You definitely deserves a hearty 3-1/2 stars.  This place is popular with both the long-timers, as well as some of the less-trendy Wilton Manors' crowd.  Don't come with any expectations and you'll enjoy.  :)

How can you not love a true diner.  The biscuits and gravy here are THE BEST! The whole wheat pancakes are great too.  The service is diner-friendly and simple. Coffee is great diner coffee..nothing great, but hits the spot and is always hot.

If you're looking for something fancy, don't come here.  If you want a good diner for breakfast at all hours of the day, this is your place.

Eh, go down the block to Pancake House.

I usually have a hair in some course.  But it's quick and easy if you sit at the counter.

Best Chili Omelette I've ever had. Split it with someone. It's huge.

Yes, I am a total fan.  I have been coming down to Ft. Lauderdale for the past 10 years and I have eaten at Egg and You Diner more times than I can remember.  It has very good standard American cooking.  The breakfasts are satisfying, but the steak and eggs are delicious!  If you are looking for good food at a good price look this place up.  The waitresses are straight out of that American sitcom Alice.  You remember Alice, Vera and Mel?

Egg and You on the corner of 26th and Fed has seemingly been here, in full operation, forever. As such it has darn near if not already garnered local institution status.

It's a diner type of place serving diner type of food, but slightly better than the usual diner food and without that horrid truck stop flavor common to most.

The service is top of the line, quick, efficient and with a touch of humor to it, exactly what one appreciates in a dinner. Indeed the charm and wit of some of the wait staff can lift you out of the doldrums of an otherwise miserable day.

The patrons are really of a mixed bag. You'll see a lot of the blue collar type workmen, some of the white collar business men, a good number of gays (after all it is situated close to the Gay Mecca, Wilton Manor), lesbians, oldsters, seniors and an occasional whacko or two. However, they are all there for a good, quick, causal, low priced meal and they all mix well together. Matter of fact, the mix of the people really leads to the amusement of the place.

The food is but a 3 minus, however, with the genuine dinner type of service, casual atmosphere, popularity and ambience, I have to give it a four star rate as I truly am a fan of it.

Go here for the prompt service and friendly diner enviornment. If you are seeking good food, not just OK food, go elsewhere.

The place is quaint, i enjoyed the eggs benedict here, very tasty came with a side of hash or tomatoes, the price was great and the service was very good. My coffee cup stayed filled. It seems popular and there was a wait soon after we sat down, but i really enjoyed it and look forward to going back and introducing it to all my friends. Much better option to ihop or dennys.

When the place has been around longer than you they are doing something right. What's not to like? The crowd is a nice mix of whites, blacks, singles, families, gays, straights, etc. Throw in a mix of "well seasoned" waitresses and you are in diner heaven. Breakfast for three and rolling out the door for $16.

Diner-type place. Booths and counter service.

Waitresses seem like they've worked here since opening day.

    Good prices.

Their corned beef hash seems to be the canned kind...not the greatest. I'd get something different if I had the chance to go back. My eggs and biscuits and hash browns were great though. Maybe next time I'd get an omelette, french toast, or anything else. The others I was with looked like their breakfasts were very yummy.

    They serve biscuits here :)

A nice comfortable place to dine. Just had eggs, bacon,  pancakes & coffee for under $6. Good food at a reasonable price.

Really cozy place.  The food comes out quick, but it is good.

Well, we really wanted to love this place because it had that perfect funky old time diner feel. The waitresses were sweet and silver haired, the tables were tight, the special boards were up, but ultimately the food was just average. Certainly not awful and if you are in the area you should definitely have a bite.

Our server was quite nice and attentive unlike the experience that some of the other reviewers have had.

Wouldn't avoid this place, but wouldn't seek either.

I was once somewhat of a regular here and always found the servers very friendly. I brought my laptop in on occasion and was always very cognizant of the availability of tables and never stayed longer than 45min. One day the mgr/owner told me "this is not your office". is this a way to handle a regular customer?? If the laptop was a problem (which btw i dont really understand), this could have been communicated differently...as always, it's in the delivery. i will be taking my laptop elsewhere from now on...

I had been wanting to come by this little diner for quite some time.  It is really difficult to find a good diner that serves breakfast in SouthEast Florida.  My friend and I finally made it in before they closed on a weekday.  We were promptly seated and our server, while not saccharine, was hospitable.  Being breakfast, we already knew what we wanted as soon as we saw the menu. Our order:

    Chicken Soup
Two eggs (poached medium) with a link of sausage and a strip of bacon.
Two eggs (poached medium) with bacon (soft)
    Order of Biscuits and Gravy

Breakfast is wonderful because of its simplicity.  It is so difficult to mess up.  Somehow, though, even the eggs managed to be flavorless and they were the best part of the meal -- the worst being the biscuits and gravy.  Only slightly better than a breakfast platter at McDonald's.

At least the servers were good mannered and it was cheap.

I agree that it's 2.5, but since the last reviewer had wanted 2.5 and gave 2 stars, I'll even it out.

It's a greasy spoon.  It's got some grizzled older ladies who've are greasy spoon pros as servers that have "their" humor.  It's fine.

Best part about the place is when you are sitting along the booths near the bathrooms, you feel like you're in the diner in Pulp Fiction, so it's really freakin' cool.

    Enjoy.

This corner diner looks like it needs to be updated. The parking is insufficient and the interior could use a facelift. If you want to get a quick breakfast but not fast food then try the Egg and You. There are a lot of people here but it's nothing special other than the fact that it's been around for a while and its not a franchise. The service was a little slow and forgetful, the food was plain. If you can find a parking spot then you should try it, otherwise you won't be missing much.

    2.5 stars.

Not bad but not the greatest diner either.

    Pros:
    kielbasa
    creamed chipped beef on toast
    lightning fast, no-nonsense service
    reasonable diner pricing
    free parking lot in back

    Cons:
nothing really stands out-- eggs, sides, meat all serviceable but not impressive

that diet coke most definitely wasn't diet coke. I'm betting RC, which is fine, just say so.

In sum, you're not going to die from your food here but you're not going to be impressed either. If you need food quick and don't want a drive through it's a perfectly reasonable option.

My buddies and I were down from Minneapolis for some spring training games and the Egg and You looked like a solid breakfast diner.

We were joking all week that we needed to find a place that had kielbasa and eggs.  Egg and You had it!

The waitresses were older and spoke with a give no shit attitude but the kielbasa was a hunk of sausage split in half with a side of scrambled eggs. I would have liked the sausage in the eggs, but it was still pretty good.

I wouldn't make it a must see, but it was an A OK place for a quick breakfast, plus they had had grits, which I had not had in a about 5 years.

Not for Thurston Howell III or Lovey, but good for plain folk.

I almost always go to Egg & Me for breakfast, and I almost always get the kielbasa & egg platter. So that is what I review here.

The kielbasa is what it is, nicely cooked through with just a tad bit of charring from the grill. Delicious. The scrambled eggs are scrambled and not runny. Delicious. Home fries are tasty and potato-ey. Delicious.

Service is sassy, but attentive. I think the waitresses here were built with the restaurant, but they know their stuff and they don't take crap from no-one. When I'm solo I sit at the bar and my coffee can barely go 2 sips below the top of the mug before I get a refill (that's actually a pet peeve: once I doctor it, leave it alone!)

Sometimes I think I'm going to sink into the booth seats never to be found again, but somehow I recover. It's not obvious to park in the lot way out to the rear of the little shopping center to avoid feeding the meters.

So, here you get diner food from an unpretentious diner. As you would expect.

Barely a 2 star establishment.  We had breakfast here once, and I decided to tempt fate by getting some crazy cheesy omelette with country gravy that was one of their trademark dishes.  It sounded gross but in a good way.  Unfortunately, it was just gross.

My boyfriend got a normal breakfast of eggs, bacon, home fries, toast -- and he didn't say much about it then.  However, the other day we passed by the joint and he exclaimed, "Remember when we went to that place?  It was disgusting."

If you want a good breakfast, go to Le Bonne Crepe on Las Olas.  Their breakfast (and not just the crepes) are so much better.  Local diners in this city just plain suck.  It's too bad, because I actually have a thing for good diners.
