I was here to watch the game with friends on a Friday night. Â Despite the soccer emphasis, they had the music on full while the game was going. Â I got the Fish tacos which I enjoyed, but $8 got what could be had at Takorea for $4. Â A friend liked the house Jameson and ginger beer. Â They closed out the seating area early(midnight) and after they did, we had difficulty getting someone to handle out table's check.
An ok bar, but pricey.
This location is pretty good. The front area of the restaurant is well lit and seems generic bar like. However, walk towards the back and you're quickly immersed in the (not so) old Irish Pub feel.
The food here is good, though the au jus I had was a bit salty for dunking the lamb in, but was easily remedied with light dipping. The fries/chips are good, the beer selection is great and it ends up being super cheap if you're there during happy hour.
I've been here a couple of times and I still just think this place is OK food wise. Like Buckheads, its a little over priced and while the food is good, its not great.
However, if you have a large group and need somewhere fun and casual to hang out then Fado is a safe bet. For some reason though, I just hate getting dragged here to eat mediocre food but paying $20.
I'm in Atlanta for a few days to visit friends. We decided to go to the dump to check out some furniture and when I went on yelp to find a restaurant in our current location fados popped up so we headed there.  Good idea to valet park. For such a big restaurant there is absolutely no parking. When we walked in it was pretty loud because of the game on tv but we got a table away from all the loud noise but were still able to watch the game. I ordered a glass of red wine that I thought was very over priced. 9.50 for a small half glass. We were there on Saturday and did not know that for $12.00 you can drink all the mimosas you want untill three pm. So we asked our server for the orange juice on the side and drank the white bubbly that was pretty good. Not sweet at all but a very light dry bubbly. Also on Saturday the fish and chips are two for one. So we started out with two apps. One was a cheese puff that was delish.  It was a puff pastry filled with a light whipped cheese filling. We ordered a full order of the BBQ wings that were perfectly glazed and sticky.  We did ask for our food to not come out untill we had finished our apps but our food came out about five minutes after we started  That is one of the reasons I'm giving it 3 stars and the other reason is because I ordered the shepards pie. It came with a wonderful salad with the right amount of dressing but my shepherds pie was cold. I sent it back. Now I have made shepards pie myself and do a pretty good job but fados was so bland that I had to add salt hot sauce and HP steak sauce to eat it. My friends ordered the fish and chips. Excellent!  Two huge pieces of fish that were so tender and thick and not at all greasy. Their chips were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It also came with house made coleslaw and tarter sauce. If I was staying longer I would definitely go back
Review Source:If you are a soccer fan, this is your place.
I personally think their beers are overpriced (especially on St. Patties Day), but I get it. I do.
It's a nice place to hang out, but becomes a little frat-tastic. So, if that isn't your type of place, then I recommend on skipping out.
I've never had a bad time.
Their food is pretty decent.
But they do take their irish breakfast very, very seriously. And man. Is it good.
Come here. Drink beer. Get drunk.
I'm responsible, among other things, for arranging office happy hours every couple of months. I think it's because I'm the youngest on my team, I have no children, and I may bring up day drinking often in meetings. Since I've only been in Atlanta six months, I try to go to places and check them out before organizing an office event. Â A friend and I checked this place out a few weeks ago and it was spot-on. I wanted to go back one more time and try it out before arranging July's happy hour here.
So glad I did, because I'm definitely not going to bring my colleagues here after the parking debacle I experienced.
The last time a friend and I came, I was confused by the parking and my last post even garnered a response from a Fado staffer who said it was okay to park in the library lot adjacent to the pub. So, this time, I pull up and there's something going on in front of the pub with the valet, so I pull into the library parking lot. My friend and I get out of the car and start walking toward the pub, when a man who had been sitting on top of a car parked in the corner of the parking lot, smoking a cigarette, saunters over to us and tells us we have to give him five dollars to park there. Not only was this man's demeanor unprofessional, but alarming. We've parked here before, never had to pay, never saw an attendant before and the sign in front of Fado's said self-park $2. Â
I called Fado, to be reassured that this man was a parking attendant and not a rube trying to make a few bucks. The bartender at Fado was rude and condescending, and told me I must be stupid if I didn't see the signs saying I had to pay to park at the library and I was awfully lucky to have parked there previously and not paid.
After much debate about staying or leaving, we decided we didn't want to get stuck in traffic going elsewhere, so we paid the man $5 and went inside the pub. I'm not really sure what would have happened if we had not paid the $5, but driving a new, European model car, I didn't want to find out that night.
The food was decent. We ordered some apps and a few rounds of drinks, and it was fine. Â The atmosphere was fine too. Â My friend and I sat on the rooftop, and while it was a little warm, the shade, breeze, and fans kept the air circulating and it was pleasant.
Overall, Fado's is decent, but the parking and location are huge deterrents. I doubt we'll be back and I'm sure I won't be setting up an office outing here.
I go for triva night to build intra-office relationships, the food is just ok, the beer is good but the service is crap. Â A table of 6 ordering beer, 25 yo scotch, food. Â This was shared with the waitress in advance...and we told her we would tip well....Ya think she made our table a regular stop ....NO. Â Ok note to management. Â we are going to return tonight wedneday 5-22 can we some how get better more timely service. Â When you see beers getting low swing by and ask if we need another round.......
Review Source:I come from a huge Irish family, yes a real Irish family that actually live in Northern Ireland and speak with Irish accents, so my review is non biased and I tell it with first hand knowledge of what Im talking about.
First things first...this place is technically a Irish/British pub, the decor is both British and Irish, they have a Chelsea scarf hanging behind the bar, thats a soccer team from London UK. Also the "Irish" breakfast they serve is actually not a proper Irish breakfast, they are nearly there minus the baked beans that is a major ingredient and shouldnt be left out for any reason and secondly boiled and pan fried potatoes. And there shouldnt be none of that nasty Potato Bread... Only old people eat that shite. Â Fried white bread would be way more traditional and tastes a hell of allot better. So if your reading this Fado..add the Beans and fried potatoes and fried white bread and it'll be a winner, Ask the Irish Fella who does the Quiz night, he'll confirm what Im saying!
So anyway, as soon as I emigrated to the US two years ago and found out I only live down the road from this place I had to check it out. Im telling you from allot of experience this place is like an upscale Irish/British pub. My cousin from Ireland was the landlord of a pub in Mountmellick and also ran one in London, I also worked in a pub as a barman for a few years in Birmingham UK so Ive seen plenty of real Irish and British pubs. I heard the interior was imported from genuine Irish and British pubs so as soon as I walked in I was amazed how well they managed to make this place feel like a good old Irish/British pub. The condiments are all English, they have Heinz Brown Sauce (English), Colman's Mustard (also English), salt and vinegar and a few other English items. Nothing Irish in those condiments to add to your food, but the brown sauce is definitely a great sauce to have with your fish N chips or Irish Breakfast.
Ive drank allot of Guinness in many pubs around Atlanta and can tell you now Fados has the best tasting one Ive had here, you can always tell a good fresh Guinness by how bright the head is, the more tanned it is can mean two things, the barrel has been roughed up on the ship over from Ireland or its old as shit. Neither of those are the case here, SO remember, tanned is bad, Bright and close to white is good! They also pour it well, nice and smooth, perfect head. Go to 3 Dollar Cafe and order a Guinness there, it will be tanned and the head will be full of bubbles, telling me the fucker who poured the pint doesnt have a clue how to serve it and needs a urgent 101 in Guinness etiquette.
So..the food, you want genuine tasting fish n chips..just like the ones in the UK? soggy chips and a foot long piece of cod battered and covered in salt and vinegar, wrapped in paper? You aint gonna get that experience here sorry. Â I had the Fados version of Fish N Chips, Ive also eaten allot of that back in the UK..the home of Fish N Chips. So far Ive never been able to find a place in the States that makes fish and chips that comes even close to the ones you get in the UK. There is something about the batter and the way the chips are deep fried that the US just cant seem to recreate. As fish n chips in America goes they were good for what they were but nothing as compared to UK Fish N Chips, they were simply fish and chips, nothing more. Also unless you weigh 300+ Lbs or arent concerned about your figure then I would only order the half portion, its plenty. The lacking Irish Breakfast and sub standard American fish n chips are the reason Ive only gave a four star rating.
The second time I went I had a burger, tasted great. I cant complain about the quality of their food, served well and tastes grand.
Prices are what to be expected in Buckhead but you get what you pay for. Try going to Dublin City and buying a Guinness there for the same price (you wont find one), youl be payin 5 euros for a pint witch is about 10 bucks, so were pretty well lucky if you ask me, no extortionate tourist inner city  prices to be found here.
I will definitely be going back again as its the closest thing I have here that makes me feel like Im drinking at home, minus the fights and drunk old men pissing themselves and falling to sleep in the corner of the pub after one too many ciders
I've been to Fado multiple times over the past few years. The biggest complaints I've heard about the place is either "not authentic" or "not cheap." I won't argue it's authentic, and it's not the cheapest, but it's not expensive. If you want a good time to sit around, enjoy a good quality drink and maybe catch a game or just enjoy some food with friends, Fado is the place. If you're trying to get hammered for as cheap as possible, maybe go down the street a ways.
Fado has fantastic food, and a larger selection of drinks than their menu lets on. Start with a Guinness, then work your way through the menu.
It's not too crowded if you go early or on a typical weeknight. If you try to show up on a match day, show up very early, because the place will be packed.
The third floor is a nice touch, allowing you to sit outside under cover from the elements and enjoy the fresh air.
I visited Fado's for the first time in fucking years last week for an absolutely epic St. Patrick's Day bash. They did a really great job with the overall vibe, festivities, alcohol selections and costs, and Desire, the U2 cover band. I know that it's probably not a good idea to judge a bar after visiting on a party night, but at the same token, I think it is a great test of their staff if they can still deliver. And they did. Food was coming out quickly from the kitchens, the inside of the massive bar was crowded, but clean and all my friends enjoyed their drinks. I am looking forward to returning on a not so nutty night and watching some Premier League. Ooh, maybe I can even get my cricket fix in as well (not kidding, I love cricket).
Review Source:I loved the interior of this place. So cozy and  fun! We got to sit in a cute booth when we went last time and I loved it. My friends and I went for happy hour last week and I was very surprised at the quality of food. Very simple & tastey. Their happy hour menu was also perfect to share w/ a group of friends over some good beer! I didn't like the parking too much, but it was a lot better compared to some of the crazy downtown parking lots. Just a little bit of a walk, but it's free so yay!
I really like their chicken tenders and pita bread & hummus. Sooo good. I will definitely be coming back.
Fado just might have become my favorite happy hour spot. I went for dinner over the weekend with the BF and was very impressed. I loved the interior and the ambiance was second to none. I love the laid back atmosphere!
We arrived and parked at a lot by the building. I think it's a free lot...either way, we didn't pay.
I liked that you could just seat yourself. We grabbed a table and a waiter came by to drop off menus.
Fish & Chips
You can choose to get the half or full portion. (I of course got the full portion.) The breading was really greasy, but it was still very crispy. The dish came with thick cut fries, a little cup of slaw, and tarter sauce. I also got the Curry Sauce, but wasn't too impressed with that. Not worth the extra $0.75.
Fado Cheeseburger
This burger was quite big. The patty was super juicy and I loved the simplicity of it. You can choose any side to accompany this dish.
The table next to us had gotten an order of pita chips and hummus. Hands down, I have never seen such yummy looking pita chips in my life. I am definitely going to try that app next time.
The real selling point for me is that from 4:00 - 7:00 on M-F, they have a selection of $4 appetizers. I am going to take full advantage of that in the coming weeks.
Also, for free deals, check out their site! <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fadoirishpub.com%2Fatlanta%2Fnew-menu&s=333fffebbe4e12454419c1b2259da939dc2806ba45a609389e4b7cac69442c7b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.fadoirishpub.…</a>
I have to say, I am a true foodie but never in my life did I think I would ever try black pudding (blood sausage). Well I got up at 6:30am to come watch Ireland vs Wales with my honey and for him tried it and surprisingly it was good and I liked it but will probably never eat it again. I will try anything once ....
Review Source:Last night was my first time at Fado, I've got to admit I had an awesome time. I was there for the Dutch New Year Party and the people were very friendly and made new friends. The bartenders were ok but the atmosphere was nice! Overall great experience, I recommend this place for sure!
Review Source:I always have a good time here. I had a small party & the party planner, Helen, was extremely helpful & easy to work with. The cost was very reasonable; they let you set your own budget. Â We covered food, and my guests paid for their own drinks. Â Also, when I had a small issue arise once, a manager named Brian made it right quickly & kindly. Â They have been an Atlanta staple for years not only due to the great drinks, food, and atmosphere, but also because they know how to treat their customers.
Review Source:I'm going to start this review off with a disclaimer. I *may* be biased since I created some wonderful memories here :)
This pub is one of the best pubs I've ever been to, and probably the best pub in Atlanta. They have a wonderful selection of beer and the decor is great! The bartenders are friendly and the crowd this place seems to attract is also friendly. It's not a loud bar, but it's not boring either. A great place to catch up with friends or watch a game. If you're a wino and not a beer drinker, their wine list isn't so great, but  it's a pub so that's to be expected. Just thought I'd point that out anyway. Also, parking isn't an issue here which is also a big positive in Atlanta! I definitely suggest giving this place a go for a friendly get together!
So yeah, they have trivia night. But I think you'd be wrong to dismiss it and put it in the hand-in-hand category of bars/food establishments of Atlanta. It's truer to the neighborhood and as such brings a level of consistency and class that matches Buckhead.
In the summer the rooftop is EXCELLENT.
I've been here for a private function on the top deck, where there's an airconditioned bar, and loungey seating outside. On cooler evenings, they're heated up there.
Really great vibes and awesome, good looking crowd.
The garishly unfinished concrete building across the street has nothing to do with this review. It doesn't need a few more years before this neighborhood is worth coming to, I would think this is my favorite hang out now and only hope it doesn't get overcrowded.
I don't come here for food or service. Beer me.
This is a great place to eat. I found this place by coming to an event and complained a little about the lack of service. The management contacted me and asked me to give them another try. The trip was well worth it.
The happy hour food specials are not that much of a special. They give half sized appetizers for half price. The drink specials were ok though.
The pumpkin spice wings were great. Get Them. They taste like sweet and sour wings but more subtle.
I came for Monday Night Football. Plenty of TVs for the game. There was a small Irish band playing in the back. They were pretty good and made the place feel more authentic.
For food I got the salmon bite appetizers. Warning the fish is cold!! This is a great dish. I would recommend it to people who like seafood. A had a Guiness to wash it all down. Even beer taste better here. For the main course, I got the fish and chips. This was hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had and it was all because of the fish. There was so much food that I struggled to finish it all and did not eat all the potatoes. After staying for a while longer I had the irish coffee. Not a coffee person but this tasted more like desert than coffee. Kool.
I came back for brunch and had the guniess wings and the Almond french toast. (weird combination I know). The food was great.
Went out to Fado's this past Saturday for my goodbye party (leaving for Korea). It was a pretty large group, but Fado's was definitely large enough to accommodate us all. The crowd is definitely an older crowd--late 20's to mid 30's. I am in my early 20's, so it wasn't really my typical scene, but it was perfect for the event. We were able to hear each other above the music, which is always a plus. This review is based solely off the drinks and nightlife scene, since I have yet to try any food items here.
Review Source:I have been at Fado's a bunch of times with my boyfriend and a group of friends as well. The food is great! Try the traditional Shepard's Pie, my favorite!
I always have a great time, when at Fado's! The valet takes a long time, but that's understandable. This place gets really crowded on sundays:-)
Although Fado's is right near my place, I only come here for drinks. The food is terrible, and I mean terrible. I've had most of the appetizers and entrees, and haven't found anything worth my money.
That said, the upstairs patio is an awesome venue to grab drinks with friends. I continue to return often despite my experience with the food.
Most people might come here later for drinking, or early for soccer. Well the coolest thing about Fado is they also open early for Formula 1 if there's no big soccer game going on. And because of all those channels they have for soccer, when races are tape delayed in the US to be on Fox, a Spanish Fox soccer channel has it on live. (I am guessing Mexico based on how quickly they had Sergio Perez on the phone for an interview.) Loopholes are the best.
If only there was a loophole to drink a pint while watching considering I've come to watch the British and German Grands Prix but I digress.
Besides being awesome enough to open up for 7:30 for about a dozen crazy F1 fans, they serve food! The brunch menu isn't much but the almond French toast is pretty ridiculous. First you may think at $10, it's obscenely overpriced.
Then it comes out: eight slices of French toast. Between every 2 slices there is a sweet almond flavored cream cheese. Each section of 2 slices is topped with a raspberry sauce. It is heaven. It is a sugar coma at 8am.
We've figured it's best split between two people, along with an order of breakfast potatoes. The breakfast potatoes are like a less spicy, more breakfast appropriate take on patatas bravas, also known as one of my favorite foods ever. They're lemony and crispy and whatever sauce is on them is addictive.
The only way it could be any better is if Georgia wasn't still partially stuck in 1920 on Sundays.
I wish I could remember the server's name...hell, I don't think I've ever heard it. She's always there for this and she is awesome.
And so, while my boyfriend's TV is out of commission thanks to a surge protector failure, we will be here for the next race...oh of course there's a 5 week break coming up. Sigh.
Fado is definitely a legit Irish pub!
I've been a couple times now (to include last night, while waiting for the Elite Event to kick off over at Capital Grille) and they never disappoint.
They've got a fairly decent beer selection (with most of their taps dedicated to the UK) and the food is actually fantastic! Â In particular, you've gotta try the bread pudding... mmmmmmmm.......
What keeps this place from a 5-star spot is a combination of two things: music and price. Â I'd love to hear some Irish or UK music, but it's generally either not turned up loud enough to hear what's being played... or just not on, at all, in lieu of some TV on a soccer match. Â I'd also like to see a pint of Guinness for less than 6.50 (though the barkeeps at least know how to pour it properly).
If you can ignore the tunes and you're okay with higher prices... the selection and food will probably bring you back!
Slainte!
P.S. - head upstairs when you get the chance... great cigar patio! Â :)
GREAT pub food, good drink selection, and fun shots (there's one that involves whiskey and pickle juice)! Fun decor too. We sat at a table shaped like a harp with chairs hand-carved with celtic designs.
They also have an upper outside porch (with a fireplace for when it gets cold), and you can chill out up there with a drink in the evening air.
I've started going semi-regularly for lunch, and I have to say: the food is quite good. It's like. . . upscale bar food. In the best way.
Yesterday's lunch was yummy. The soup of the day was tomato-vegetable and our server, Thomas, was kind enough to give us a taste - sold! A bowl of soup and a shared gourmet burger (that's what they call it- it's the one with arugula) and a few fries. Delicious. Cooked just right, thick and meaty with bacon and onion and tomato.
Other things I've had have been delicous also, like the tomato and mozzarella sammy (served warm- yum) and the chicken fingers, which are just battered enough. A favorite is the farmfield salad, added chicken; if I'm in the mood for a hearty "bar" salad (much like Kristin B noted about Manuel's version), this is perfect.
Go by at lunch - be warned about soccer matches, if that kind of crowd isn't your thing - and look forward to seeing Thomas, Russell or the very sweet Christa.
We made reservations because we weren't sure what the wait was like on a Friday night at 8, but there was ample seating inside, just not on the rooftop patio. Â
Started with the smoked salmon bites for $8.95. Mmm mmm good, there are only 4 of them though, so savor every morsel.
I got the Guinness BBQ chicken sandwich and he got the fish and chips (really generous portion). Everything was delicious, including the fresh potato wedges, and the food came out with very little wait. Our waitress Angela was awesome. Service and food were 5 stars.
Why I took away a star:
Valet parking is $5 but they didn't even park it for us, we parked it ourselves.
You have to show your ID at the door...but children are allowed, and they just ID you again when you order a drink inside. I don't understand what purpose the menacing and unfriendly bouncers serve.
I have heard about Fado for a while now and have read mixed reviews about the restaurant, but I was excited to finally try it one Thursday afternoon. Â A group of three of us arrived around 1 pm and were seated immediately.
Since I did not look at the menu prior to going to lunch, I had no idea what to order. Â However, the menu was pretty short and easy to read through, so I quickly glanced at it and lingered through the sandwiches section. Â Although I'm not a fan of the beer, the Guinness BBQ Chicken Sandwich stood out to me the most, so that's what I chose to order.
The restaurant wasn't too busy, so we didn't have to wait very long for our food to be served.
* Guinness BBQ Chicken Sandwich ($9.95) - All sandwiches come with thick cut chips (potato wedges), but I thought that the portion that came with mine was really small. Â Per the menu, the grilled chicken breast is "basted with Guinness BBQ sauce" and topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion (I requested for no onions in mine, though!) in a kaiser roll. Â I thought the grilled chicken was cooked just right and loved the Guinness BBQ sauce! Â The kaiser roll was soft and delicious as well. Â I was happy that the sandwich also came with some of the Guinness BBQ sauce on the side, which I used to dip and enjoy my potato wedges. Â Yum!
Although our server wasn't particularly friendly, he was good about refilling our waters and checking on us to see if we needed anything else. Â It would have been nice if he smiled, but maybe that's asking for too much.
Overall, Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant gets 4 stars for their delicious Guinness BBQ Chicken Sandwich and good service at lunchtime. Â I would definitely return if I'm in the area and craving a good chicken sandwich, and I highly recommend the Guinness BBQ Chicken Sandwich!
* NOTE: Â Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the sandwich but will be sure to take one next time... Â Sorry!

I love Fado for both day and night time events. I've been there several times for lunch and dinner and have always been impressed. Most recently I had the chicken fingers and the sliders. They were all awesome. I'd definitely say this is more on the gourmet side of pub food. They also have great Guiness ice cream for dessert! And of course they have a good beer selection and strong drinks (what else would you expect at an Irish pub).
At night the atmosphere is also great. The space is large enough that you can walk around and there are a ton of different types of people there. They have lots of TVs to watch soccer or other sports. On the weekend they usually have a DJ downstairs - but if that's not your thing you can always go upstairs to the outdoor rooftop patio and chill!
Overall I would recommend to anyone - they have something for all!
Fado is one of our favorite watering holes in the ATL. It's a great place to grab drinks after work. Yuppy businessmen in blue button-ups account for about 60% of the crowd.
The happy hour specials are seriously lacking, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. The old world European decor provides prime material for a rousing game of "I Spy". Cozy alcoves and corners are scattered throughout the establishment should you choose to seclude your party from the rowdy European patrons that tend to linger around the bar. The television screens are regularly tuned to the rugby match of the moment, adding to the air of European pub life.
The customer service is a mixed bag. On one occasion, our server was sweet and helpful, offering honest suggestions for cocktails and appetizers. On another visit, however, our server was not very attentive to our needs and seemed rather unhappy to be doing her job.
Parking can be a headache as you have to pay for valet, self, or metered parking.
Overall, it's a classic pub hangout for casual drinks with your mates and some quality rugby match viewing.
I used to hang out at Irish Pubs in NYC while I was working up there. So I always look forward to visiting Irish pubs around ATL. It kind of brings back some good ol' times.
I have to say, this is the only pub I know that does Valet and is next to a Hermes boutique??!!! How fancy schmancy is this?? You can go have a guinness and hop over to Hermes to get a Birkens...
Anyways, I had the fish & chips with a sweet potato/leek soup for an appetizer. I was very disappointed in the soup. It was very boring; eating it was like a chore since it's paid for I had to finish it. My fish and chips were tasty but I wish it was bigger or comes with 2 for a lunch portion. One fish was just teasing my appetite. heh
Supposedly the bread pudding is amazing. I haven't tried it but my peer has and apparently it's very orgasmic. Definitely a must try next time.
All in all, it's an "OK" joint for food. But I don't mind coming here for Happy Hour! :)
I like this place! Â It's a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but the atmosphere is great, its got a huge bar with lots of little nooks and crannies and the upstairs outdoor seating is great in the spring and summer.
I like the Guinness BBQ wings and if you're feeling indulgent, try the Black and Tan Brownie, but try to share it, its a lot of calories!
Overall, a fun good place to go with a relaxed atmosphere and not too uptight feeling.
It's official: once you've seen one Fado, you've seen 'em all.
I'd occasionally make an appearance at the Fado in DC, usually after getting far too schnockered at a nearby location like RFD or Rocketbar. Kind of the same thing here. For me, it's certainly not a destination, but for many others it appears to be THE hip spot. It was packed last night, full of, well... the same people over and over again. Seriously, everyone looked the same. Except for that guy in scrubs. Why on Earth was he wearing scrubs?! Dude, it's 9:30 on a Friday night. No one's impressed. Oh wait, maybe that blonde chick with the fake boobs is impressed. Yep, she sure is.
Smithwick's on tap (it's pronounce "Smitticks" for those not in the know) always makes me happy, but there are about a million places I'd head prior to returning here, even if I am limited to the Buckhead area. The only reason I can foresee returning is for trivia at some point.
I was a huge fan of Fado for a long time. I spent many a St Patty's day there, countless happy hours and went after the U2 concert and could have sworn that it was actually U2 playing and not a cover band.
The old location torn down, I visited the NEW location last night. I believe they just opened this week after being in a temporary location for the past few months.
The new space is HUGE. No longer do you feel like you have crawled into a cave (~20ft ceilings!) - but the ambiance remains with faux finishes, murals and old Irish signs. In addition to the large bar on the main floor there is a second level with more seating and then a third level with a glass-enclosed bar leading to a nice rooftop patio.
Plenty of Guinness on tap (I like half Guinness, half New Castle), Fado looks to be back and better than ever.
