We live near Terra Terroir and have eaten here for many years.  Their food is consistent- always good but they are pricing themselves out of their market.  They use to have a salad with their dinners, now it is separate.  And their prices keep rising. Luckily there are many other restaurants in the area that are offering better options.

This place gets a lot of good reviews but we found it bizarre. Simple requests for things like cranberry juice or tonic water were met with a confused blank stare. The wine list was mediocre and the white wine served warm. Sorry, this is the U.S. and we like our white wine chilled. Our waitress was a speed talker and didn't slow down her pace for one of our friends who is elderly and hard of hearing. She was impatient with his questions which were pretty normal like "what kind of salads do you have?". She also didn't have good answers to any of our questions about the menu. The food was decent but nothing special for the high price. We had reservations for the patio but couldn't sit there because it was a sauna. It was a cool night so that shouldn't have been an issue. We've checked this place off our list permanently.

We have lived in Brookhaven for years and never tried Terra Terroir. Now we're kicking ourselves for skipping it this whole time. The food was EXCELLENT. The 4 of us shared 5 "small" plates but really the plates were big enough to be considered entrees (except for the lamb). The risotto was creamy and one of our guests could have licked the bowl (I hope she's not reading this). The shrimp and grits was flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were crispy. We were elated to have gone on Monday for 1/2 price bottles of wine ($49 or less). What a great deal! 4 people at dinner and the total with a bottle of wine was approx $85 and we all left pleasantly full.

The best part about the entire experience was the enchanting patio. It is covered sheltering diners from the elements and our lovely Georgia mosquitoes. The waterfalls and lush landscaping make the experience romantic and almost whimsical.

Giving a 4 instead of 5 because the service was almost non-existent. Our server was pleasant... the couple of times he graced us with his presence but that was seldom. Surely it was a fluke because the other tables seemed to be tended to just fine.

Looking forward to going back with my girlfriends on a Monday for wine night!
