We live near Terra Terroir and have eaten here for many years. Â Their food is consistent- always good but they are pricing themselves out of their market. Â They use to have a salad with their dinners, now it is separate. Â And their prices keep rising. Luckily there are many other restaurants in the area that are offering better options.
Review Source:This place gets a lot of good reviews but we found it bizarre. Simple requests for things like cranberry juice or tonic water were met with a confused blank stare. The wine list was mediocre and the white wine served warm. Sorry, this is the U.S. and we like our white wine chilled. Our waitress was a speed talker and didn't slow down her pace for one of our friends who is elderly and hard of hearing. She was impatient with his questions which were pretty normal like "what kind of salads do you have?". She also didn't have good answers to any of our questions about the menu. The food was decent but nothing special for the high price. We had reservations for the patio but couldn't sit there because it was a sauna. It was a cool night so that shouldn't have been an issue. We've checked this place off our list permanently.
Review Source:We have lived in Brookhaven for years and never tried Terra Terroir. Now we're kicking ourselves for skipping it this whole time. The food was EXCELLENT. The 4 of us shared 5 "small" plates but really the plates were big enough to be considered entrees (except for the lamb). The risotto was creamy and one of our guests could have licked the bowl (I hope she's not reading this). The shrimp and grits was flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were crispy. We were elated to have gone on Monday for 1/2 price bottles of wine ($49 or less). What a great deal! 4 people at dinner and the total with a bottle of wine was approx $85 and we all left pleasantly full.
The best part about the entire experience was the enchanting patio. It is covered sheltering diners from the elements and our lovely Georgia mosquitoes. The waterfalls and lush landscaping make the experience romantic and almost whimsical.
Giving a 4 instead of 5 because the service was almost non-existent. Our server was pleasant... the couple of times he graced us with his presence but that was seldom. Surely it was a fluke because the other tables seemed to be tended to just fine.
Looking forward to going back with my girlfriends on a Monday for wine night!
I'm stuck between three and four stars. Â I rounded up, because my expectations were somewhat high coming in, so I realize that had I been expecting less I would have been upwardly surprised.
First thing, this place is supposed to have a good wine list. Â They tout their Wine Enthusiast rating. Don't believe it. We ordered a Languedoc called "Cuvee des Collosses", thinking there is so much good, cheap Languedoc Roussillon flowing that a place with a good wine list would certainly have scooped up some with ease....no. This wine was not good, not bad, but not good. Just entirely uninteresting. Â Thinking I was being too hard, I pulled the wine up on CellarTracker and found it rated an 84, which is quite low for a wine of this origin and price point. Â This was not something a sommelier of skill who was paying attention would have ordered.
That said. Â Highlights? Â Seared duck breast (crispy skin) salad and roasted date salad were both worth coming for.
Negatives? Â Jamal never offered us any bread for the table. Â Not even with us ordering a charcuterie plate. Â Come on. Just cheap.
Mixed: Â The bison meatloaf had an awesome flavor. They actually grill the meatloaf! Â This beats the Food 101 meatloaf (though you should never get it at Food 101, get it at Meehan's so you can have better draught beer and cheaper prices). The negatives were the temps. The meatloaf comes with a red sauce on it. Mine was cold. Also, I asked for the hanger steak set up (truffle fries and fried Brussels sprouts). The fries were likewise not hot, room temp.
If I go back and my experience is similar, I will downgrade to three stars.
Downward spiral from the get-go! I decided to ignore my negative gut feeling about dining in a restaurant that is located in a deserted shopping center but... Wrong appetizer was brought out and it was brought out along with dinner. The wrong entree was given to my date and the waiter blamed it on us. He clearly put in the wrong order but didnt yake responsibility for it.
The quality of the food was ok but I ordered the sea bass. This dish was not flavorful, at all. I appreciate the polite wait staff, the wine was good but it seems the only thing this place has going for it is the semi-outdoor patio that smells like W-D 40.
I will not be going back nor will I recommend this place to anyone.
Pros- Chicken Mushroom Ravioli and Mussels (because they bring you extra bread)!
cons- Meatloaf is SO SPICY that my boyfriend couldn't even eat it!!!!! Also , beer on draught was gross!
After studying menu for the 6 months ( it is one of those menus you won't know what to get. very limited)., we finally decided to try it and weren't impressed and won't go back
A good friend and I ate at Terra Terroir on Valentine's Day for dinner.  They had a special menu for Valentine's Day. For my appetizer I ordered the Lobster salad (crab salad style) served on top of layers of thin crispy wafers.  It was tasty.  My friend ordered the Calamari which was cooked perfectly.  For my entrée I ordered the NY Strip which was served with Risotto and sautéed spinach.  The Steak was cooked just right but could have used a little more seasoning.  However, the Risotto was my favorite.  It was creamy, well seasoned and so delicious.  My friend ordered the Shrimp and Grits which she enjoyed.  We weren't a fan of the desserts, but everything else we really enjoyed.
Review Source:Love this place. Â Tucked in back of rite air shopping center a boring front decor will typically keep most people on moving but if you choose to stop in you will see the treasure we discovered. Â Great wine selection and beautiful outdoor patio with full foliage. Â Perfect romantic lunch or eve spot. Â Food is great as the service typically is too. Â The lamb burger is one of the juiciest I've had. Â The scallops were fantastic and I've honestly never had a dish here the I did not devour. But shhh don't tell too many others we want this secret to ourselves. ;)
Review Source:Terra Terroir is a hidden gem. Tucked into a strip mall next to a pharmacy, I was a little skeptical when I pulled into the parking lot. Walk inside, though, and you'll immediately start to understand that there's more to this place than meets the eye. The host stand is right next to the tiny open kitchen, and you can see plate after plate of delicious looking food going out as you are seated. If it's a pretty nice, like the night I visited, be sure to ask to sit on the patio. That's right - there's an outdoor seating area tucked into this strip mall restaurant, and it alone is worth the visit. This would be a perfect spot to stop in for a glass of wine with some friends after work, and it definitely has "romantic night out" potential, as well. They have some large, modern booths outside, so even groups of 6 or 8 can enjoy the patio in style.
The host the night I visited also had a sense of humor. He asked the name of the friend I who was meeting me, and when she walked in, he greeted her by name with a "so nice to see you again!" She definitely did a double take, trying to remember when she had met him before and was still laughing when she reached our table.
They have a crazy extensive wine list, so go thirsty. If you're not into wine, they also have a good selection of other drinks, but the wine is the star of the show here. The food is also wonderful. I was sorely tempted by the baked brie appetizer (next time!) but opted instead to focus on my entree of shrimp and grits. They were phenomenal - so rich, and the sauce had the perfect amount of spice. I also tasted a bite of my friend's meatloaf, and, even though I'm not usually a meatloaf fan, it was pretty excellent. They also had several fish entrees that sounded fantastic, and I look forward to trying something new the next time I stop in!
My husband and I had dinner here on Wednesday night since we had no food at home and wanted to do something fun. I decided on this place after looking at the menu online - I could eat here often.
We got there around 5:30/45 and were the first people seated on the patio, right next to the waterfall. The place was definitely busier by the time we left but it wasn't loud.
We ordered the portabello appetizer, walnut pesto pasta, and grilled chicken and apple salad and loved everything. We were happy with all of it. We had the sommelier recommend wines to go with everything - I got a chardonnay and the hubs got a viognier. I thought the pairings were good - no harsh clash between anything.
Service was also great, and everyone from the host to the person clearing dishes was warm and friendly. I suspect we will return soon... :)
This place is so unassuming from the outside, but it has one of the best patios I've ever experienced in Atlanta (the inside is very nice, as well) . I drive past it every day and have always been curious. I'm so glad I checked it out. The back patio is just beautifully done, you'd never guess you were behind a shopping center. Also a private area of the patio can be reserved for parties.
We ordered the tuna tartar appetizer special - yum! My boyfriend had grouper and brussel sprouts. The fish was amazing and the veggies perfectly cooked. They also have a decent wine selection.
The only reason I took off a star was my pasta was a little heavier than it needed to be, it came out completely covered in parmasean (and I loooove cheese, it was simply too much.) Â I will be oredering something different next time.
Overall, we had a great experience here. Great ambiance, perfect for a date night. Great service too. Â We will definitely be back!
I too thought it was a strip mall and by no means could it house anything very cool behind such. My first trip was for a casual dinner to enjoy a spring evening, probably one of the three that ATL experienced in the entire season.
The menu had a great variety of things to select from, though the pasta was a bit more drier in texture over what I anticipated. I do have to give this place some big Yelp Props though for my second visit.
My PA looked into places to eat and thought we could go here for a group of 9 at work, time to welcome on some new employees! The lunch period ended already and our meeting ran over. I was fearful that by the time we would get to the location, we would have to go to Plan B, expecting it to be closed.
I bolted over and they welcomed me in, and allowed us to sit anywhere. The restaurant staff working between the lunch to dinner, when it was closed was at our service. While the menu was switching out, they requested for members of our group to order their entree if at all possible but it was done in a low key way. The salad I enjoyed was stellar. The wine list is also fantastic. When a business goes out of their way to help me out when it's work related, I give them five stars. Great food, great service, loved sitting outside, great wine!
Terra Terroir is a great place for dinner when you can eat outside.
From the street it just looks like any other strip mall restaurant, but it's so much more. Â This place is a gem not just for the food, but for the patio out behind it. Â Dining inside is fine, but that's not the reason I come here.
I first tried it because it was mentioned in Zagat, and it was easy to see why after we dined there - a fine wine list, great food prepared with a twist to really make it unique and the patio!
Let me explain, once you're ushered through the restaurant - which is very nicely appointed inside, I might add, to the patio out back, it's like you're not right off of Peachtree Rd anymore. Â Instead you're sheltered in this lush, plant-filled enclosure with trellises, water fountains, and attractive rock walls as your scenery.
And my service has always been very friendly, knowledgeable and prompt - offering wine selections to go with entrees and recommending and describing in detail how the chef prepares different dishes. Â When eating there I've had the roasted beets and goat cheese appetizer (really well done - just the right ratio of cheese to beet for my tastes), the buffalo meatloaf (exotic, which is why I had to try it - and not a bit dry to my delight - plus the red pepper sauce on top was a nice diversion from the norm too), and the herbs de Provence chicken. Â Now, I'm a huge fan of rotisserie or roasted chicken in general, but the herbs seasoning Terra's dish were spot on. Â Â And finally, the bread pudding for dessert is not to be missed.
As I said, the patio makes the whole experience that much better, so if you're going (especially for the first time), make sure it's on a balmy evening for maximum enjoyment.
Terra Terroir is a great little restaurant in the Buckhead area of Atlanta which has American fare with a French flair! There is something for everyone on the menu, and the wine selection is amazeballs!
There is a charming patio dining area that is great for get-togethers with friends. I have only gone to Terra Terroir during lunch, however, I am sure the ambiance of this place only gets better at dinner time.
Lunch Review:
I had been eager I try Brookhaven's hidden gem. The food was incredible, atmosphere will make you forget that restaurant located next to Rite Aid in a strip mall.
Duck burger was absolutely incredible.
Service left something to be desired (refill my water please!) and the space was uncomfortably cold. It was a warm winter day, and I could not wait to walk out to the car to warm up!
I would go again without hesitation because the food was outstanding.
Go here if you are in NE Atlanta/Brookhaven area. Â The decor is lovely-especially the ironwork and sculptures and the wine by the glass (or bottle) is not too long and not too short for many choices from around the world. Â
The mushroom starter disappeared quickly. Â
The fish I had was overcooked but everyone else loved their main dish. Â
Our service was good.
I was shocked to find such an enjoyable patio in the back of this restaurant. I would have never expected it from the fact that its in a strip mall but don't pass this place up based on looks alone!
The patio is covered with a sheer net. There is a fountain in the back which adds a nice background sound. There are fans above almost every table to keep you cool as well. In addition, I saw some great round tables for groups.
Great wine selection, but we were still not thrilled that they listed one of our favorites that wasn't actually available.
We had the mushrooms as an app. Tasty but very rich. I probably wouldn't order again. My salad was OK but nothing special. However, while we were walking through the inside I did notice a variety of delicious looking fish dishes. The smell is a little dominating to sit inside.
Came here for a late lunch with some girlfriends. Although service was friendly enough, it took forever for our server to get our drinks, order, and food. Luckily my friends and I are patient people and were not in a rush to go anywhere.
I got the chicken sun-dried tomato burger which was likable. My side of edamame was a little undercooked and undersalted to my liking but overall an enjoyable experience. The special of the day, crab cakes, were evidently pretty good over a salad as well. Another friend got their quesadilla and thought it was average.
While we didn't sit in their outdoor patio section (way too hot to sit outside!), I did take a peep and it was indeed as cute as everyone claims it to be.
The old cliche, "Never judge a book by its cover" quite suitably defines one's first impression of dining at Terra Terroir. Â Nestled inside a rather ordinary strip mall, one might initially dismiss Terra and regard it as a restaurant with little to offer in terms of culinary delights, but don't be fooled. Â Walk into the front door and straight through the restaurant's interior to the outdoor patio and you will find yourself transported to a completely different world. Â
I dined with my colleagues here yesterday evening for a special occasion and the staff did everything they could to ensure a delectable dining experience. Â We started off with the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) which was a palate pleaser and definitely won both myself and my colleagues over immediately. Â The grilled portobello mushroom and spinach/mesclun greens salad were terrific for appetizers and were very good portions for sharing. Â I chose the chipotle-grilled shrimp over cheesy stone-ground grits and my husband savored the grilled lamb shank...both were divine and I practically licked my plate clean.
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful surroundings that I have discovered in which to dine in Atlanta, Terra Terroir was the perfect setting for a wonderful meal with wonderful people. Â As the sun set, the peaceful and calming sound of the fountain combined with the frogs croaking made for a memorable evening. Â I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for incredible atmosphere, wonderful cuisine, or a place to take that special someone. Â I know that I will definitely be back with visitors in tow!
Don't let the location dissuade you from visiting Terra Terrior. Â It is located in a tired strip center between a Rite Aid and a hair/nail salon, and may give first time visitors a brief pause. Â But once you walk inside you will be very pleasantly surprised by the decor and the staff attentiveness. Â Even more impressive is the beautiful outdoor patio to dine on. Â Yes, that's right - An outdoor patio at the back of the restaurant & strip center. Â Sounds crazy, but this is one where you have to see to believe. Â Great atmosphere.
Shared the filet mignon sliders and the see bass with a few glasses of wine. Â The sea bass was the best part - very flavorful dish, vegetables and potatoes. Â The filet mignon sliders were a little tough, so there were a bit of a disappointment.
The worst part of the experience was one couple that allowed their 4 or 5 year old daughter to get up from the table and walk around the patio. Â Not the atmosphere for the child - she was better suited for the McDonald's next door.
This is my first time back in over 6 years. Â I had only been once before (then known as Terra Grille) and I ate there on my first day in Atlanta. Â Edamame, yummy burgers - it was a treat, but for whatever reason I never went back.
Fast forward 6 years and now that I'm into wine and good eats, I thought it was worth the trip to check out the facelift on what I thought was a great place.
We went on a Friday night with no reservations. Â Friday was calling for rain so we didn't even ask to sit outside, which looked amazingly beautiful, even with storm clouds overhead. Â The little room off the patio looked perfect for a party - definitely worth remembering!!!
The interior of the restaurant is completely different and actually has a sushi restaurant kind of feel, in that the kitchen is open, the lighting is dim, and booths dominate the floor. Â I give 5 stars worth of credit for the stellar playlist, which not only featured KT Tunstall and Norah Jones, but my fave lesser-known jazz vocalist, Melody Gardot. Â Perfect. Â
One bonus of Terra is that since its a wine bar, there are loads of wines to sample before settling in on what you'll have with dinner. Â I felt like the sommelier was very attentive to what I enjoyed in a wine and definitely steered me in the right direction to a lovely sangiovese.
I wasn't entirely hungry and made the mistake of letting my hubby (and the waiter) talk me into the buffalo meatloaf.  This isn't something I'd normally order or even make at home so the choice was rather odd, especially  when the halibut special sounded so good.  In the end, I thought the meatloaf was bland and that the pepper sauce poured over it was the attempt to make up for the lack of flavor.  In addition, somehow our appetizer order of edamame got confused as my side item, which was supposed to be sauteed spinach.  Not a huge deal since I wasn't hungry, but meh.
Hubby's lamb burger was heavy on the mint and not so heavy on the flavor. Â The side salad was massive and the homemade dressing was the best thing of the night.
The homemade key lime pie was HUGE and delicious. Â Best I've had in Atlanta, for sure!
In sum, I think this is a place to go to for drinks and an app. Â Our bill came close to $100 for two glasses of wine, two entrees, a dessert, and tip. Â Ouch. Â For the price versus the quality of the food, its just not worth it to me to pay that when there are comparable restaurants closeby (Haven and Kaleidiscope) where I would have been much happier at almost spending $100 on Friday night's dinner for two.
Minus the mess-up on our order, I found the staff to be super friendly. Â My water was always filled and it seemed as if both the manager and owner were on staff that night to make sure everything was perfect.
Their website features specials which are worth checking out.
Finally, I asked our waiter what the deal was on patio reservations since the website seems a bit odd about the process. Â Here it is: Â first come, first served. Â You can call ahead and they will try to seat you out there if they can, but you may have to wait. Â If you're a group of 6 or more, they'll take your credit card info to secure your reservation. Â They want you to show up or else get to charge you for the wasted space.
All in all, I'd give it another shot for lunch or for drinks on the patio...
My sister and I had lunch here last week, and like other reviewers said, the patio was beautiful and serene. Â I felt like I had been instantly transported to Sedona for a spa lunch- I'm serious! Â Our server (Jamal) was very personable and engaging. Â
However, I wasn't very impressed with the rotisserie chicken & cranberry sandwich ($10) that I ordered. Â It was served with so much chicken that I never ended up eating it as a sandwich, but even with the cranberry and mustard, it was completely lacking flavor. Â I did like the veggie chips that came on the side. Â My sister said that her sandwich was dry and "missing something", which surprised me because our server recommended it. Â Honestly, there were so many options on the lunch menu that it was overwhelming and difficult to decipher what their specialty is. Â
I will go back to try their wines and dessert- the atmosphere was so pleasant that it's worth another try. Â It seemed like a great place for a first date, girl's night, or even a family dinner!
Too bad I discovered this little gem two hours before my flight out of Georgia. Â I would have loved to drink my way into oblivion by sampling their wines and then tried to say their name five times quickly the French way. Â
The lunch menu was imaginative and reasonably-priced. Super-fast service is a big plus. Â
My only complaint is that our server (John) seemed a little bewildered, as if he had stumbled in here and found himself in a server's uniform, but was unsure what to do. Â I ordered my lamb medium well and it came out overcooked, and I think it's because he heard me incorrectly. Â We also had to repeat our orders. Â Perhaps it was his first day and he was nervous. Â Poor John. Â
Table-mates got the fish tacos and some sort of salad and both enjoyed their meals. Â One of them -- an acknowledged wine expert -- said the wine list is fantastic and we all heaved a collective sigh that it was lunchtime and we couldn't drink. Â
So don't be dumb like us. Â Go when you have no alcohol restrictions.
I love Terra! So convenient to the Brookhaven crowd, and a happy surprise in the Blockbuster strip mall. The food is great, every time I am here I try something new and I've never been disappointed. Prices are reasonable too which is great for lunch with friends visiting from out of town or meeting up for dinner! Terra also has weekday specials...one time they had my favorite, roasted chicken, for only $10 on that day's special... Jackpot! I believe the online menu lets you know what the specials for each day are. Really convenient.
I noticed some negative comments about service in the below reviews and not sure what happened those times... every time I have gone, we have had knowledgeable and friendly servers. They also tell stories and inform you about special events going on... some wine tastings, beer tastings, etc... so cute! Except I have never been to a special event at Terra because they feel a little heavy on the pocketbook... although dinner and drinks ARE included I believe, $70 for dinner = slightly traumatic for this poorhouse dweller..
I saved the best for last...THE PATIO. OMG OMG OMG. It is the most beautiful thing in the world!!! To the point where my boyfrend and I, slightly tipsy, started discussing how we could have a wedding reception out there. They have heaters, but go on a warm day/night and you'll be better off. It's green, pretty, romantic, and has a waterfall! Did you read the part about how this place was in a strip mall?! Amazing.
I've never had to make a reservation here, which is a shame, because they should be THAT busy.
Caught wind about the amazingness that lies in this random strip mall on Peachtree. Â I'd been wanting to go only based on reviews from peers and on yelp. Â Without hearing about it I don't think that I'd have gone considering the randomness of this location.
Our evening was interesting to say the least. Â It seemed as if our servers section was extended throughout the entire restaurant making his balancing of tables a bit of a struggle. Â With a 5 minute greet to begin a meal it's sometimes difficult to get back on my good side Beau.... Â Had to ask for a refill, no plate was bussed off of my table the 2 times he approached us once asking for dessert or the check... Â Just leaves the table with two large barren entree plates resting ever so clearly in the center of the table. Â Drops of the check with a simple "thanks" and scurries away to go catch up with the other tables I'm sure he's been neglecting.
The food was great which saved our experience. Â I'd like to come back to get a different server and try the patio which I've heard is stellar. Â I recommend the Lamb burger with Mint Chutney.
Excellent food, dismal service.
One of my favorite, independently owned restaurants in town. Lucky for us it's convenient to where we live. I've been coming here for probably about 6 years now and it seems to get better and better.
The outdoor patio is beautifully done. Whether you're sitting indoors or outdoors, the ambiance is very cool, it's quiet and romantic with great chill music playing. We've always had great service (which seems hard to find in Atlanta). The menu is a great variety of tasty choices as is their extensive wine list. I've always been very fond of their bread pudding too.
We'll continue to frequent this little gem in this dying strip mall in Brookhaven and hope they continue to keep up great service, food and ambiance. Good, independently owned restaurants are hard to come by here.
I'm going to start this by saying I feel bad giving it two stars because the food was decent, and it could be a three star BUT literally it was the WORST service I've had in a long time. I went here with a small group (6) for a friends birthday last night. Our meal took 2.5 hours, not exaggerating! They sat us at an awkwardly large table (seated 12-15) and through out the entire meal the manager sat at the other end of the table and went over schedules/tip outs with each server. I have never sat at a table and had the manager sitting 3 seats down from me going over things with a calculator, talking to staff etc, do they not have an office in the back? Another table he could sit at perhaps, it was truly bizarre.
The food was decent, it has a healthy slant which is always good. I had some Mediterranean pasta with chicken which was fine, nothing spectacular (I suppose I could have informed the manager since he was sitting at my table...) other members of my group had a lamb burger which received the most accolades, and various salads. The bread pudding at the end was great.
Our waiter was so slow. We did notice most of the clientele was 50-60Plus so maybe that works there? It is in a random strip mall, which ok whatever if the food is good etc, but it wasn't. I would never go back here by choice.
I, as the reviewers before me, took a risk and entered a strip mall I see every time I go to the airport on Marta. How I have never heard or seen of Terra Terroir until last night, I do not know, but I will begin to champion this restaurant to my friends in the 'haven. Brookhaven needs more restaurants of this quality.
Wait staff was excellent: friendly, knowledge, and attentive.
The food was great: beet salad was fresh, salmon was fresh and crispy, and the buffalo meatloaf was amazing. Reminds of the meatloaf my father used to make which is a nice blend of flavors and spices. As people mentioned below, the spinach is also a good side to order.
While the food was good, we both left a little hungry (maybe we should have ordered desert?).
Either way, I will return and hope that more people start eating here.
I came here one of those nights where I had been indoors too long, and it was a cool clear night and I really wanted to sit outside and have a glass of wine-- and Terra Terroir appeared. Â
I had been here before, but never ate on the patio, and never for dinner. Â The patio is in the back, and I believe it's new. Â It is a really nice patio-- it almost unfolds before you... Â There are booths, a waterfall and each table has it's own heating tower. Â
I ordered the mint lamb burger and a glass of wine and it was really good! Â The prices are reasonable for the service and ambiance that you get there. Â This would be a great place to take your date, and if you can, sit outside!
I had never been to Terra Terroir, but I figured they must be doing something right to have survived this long in an awkward (to say the least) setting in the corner of a strip mall near a drug store. After driving by it countless times, I finally made it in last night. What a surprise. We sat on the back patio which, literally, makes you feel like you're somewhere else. There are waterfalls, cool trees and landscaping, and even a private outdoor room.
We only had wine and didn't eat. But the wine was fantastic. Our server gave us plenty of recommendations and I liked everything he suggested. He even told us all about the menu and some of their signature dishes. I can't wait to go back and eat there. I only give it four stars because our experience was incomplete without having eaten.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this hole-in-the-wall next to a Rite Aid.
Is something ever as good the second time you experience it???
Well, in this case, yes. Â I had the occasion to return to my "discovery". Â Despite the economy (if you say "what economy, stop reading now because your martini is ready), this place was packed for lunch.
Service was good as ever. Â The server recommended meatloaf - he said he eats it at least three times a week. Â Well, if it's THAT good, I need to try it.
It was pretty good ... made from buffalo... served with a side of roasted potatoes. Â The dish could have used something "green" on it (like a small salad or green beans). Â The thing that makes this dish is the sauce. Â We liked it so much, he brought us another side.
We did not have the time for desert, but I still want to go back when it is warmer and sit outside for some wine in the evening!
Who would've known a gem like this was living next to a Rite-Aid - thanks to my friend, I do now! Check out their website and you'll be surprised like me that the inside looks so totally different than the outside. Love their space. Warm & cozy. Soothing music. Wine bar in the back. Great patio space, too.
Came here yesterday for lunch. Had a hard time deciding what to get b/c everything on their menu sounded wonderful - and healthy (an added plus plus!). Reasonably priced, too (most dishes under $10). My friend raved about the buffalo meatloaf so both of us got their "Buffalo Meatloaf Sandwich" ($9), which is a slice of farm-raised buffalo meatloaf & sauteed onions with tomato pesto & provolone cheese, served warm on a whole wheat bread. Very tasty & even slightly spicy. Had a choice of sides and we opted for their mixed greens salad w/ balsamic dressing. Pretty generous portion, too. I would definitely order it again - but after I try all their other yummy-sounding selections.
Service here was wonderful, too! Everyone from the owner to the host to the servers were all so genuinely nice - and with great smiles, too! They really added to the warmth.
Oh yeah - I have to make a comment about their unisex restroom. I had a moment of olfactory confusion & disconnection because it smelled so delicious in there -- the smell of food cooking! Ha - I'm assuming the restroom is right next to the kitchen or something. Well, as long as the food smell overrides in there, I'm fine with that :)
Anyway, you can bet I will definitely be back!
One of my favorite little spots in the Brookhaven-area! Â I really can't say enough about this place, and I have never had to wait to get in. Â You really would never know what a cute spot it is from the outside as it is in a strip mall. Â The back patio is adorable for lunch with the girls and perfect for a low key date night. Â
Recently I had the Mediterranean pasta which was very good, but not the best pasta dish I have ever had. Â I also love the lamb and mint burger and chicken sun dried tomato burger. The wine never disappoints and I like that they have a variety on the menu, and everything is super light and fresh. Â
I will keep coming back!
Terra Grille is located in a random strip mall in Brookhaven across from the Brookhaven Kroger. Â Don't let the location fool you, this place is well worth a visit! Â The food is healthy but quite tasty and filling, with a bold but simple menu mainly consisting of seafood and game. Â I've had the shrimp & grits which served as a great comfort food on a cold evening, and the whole wheat pasta with salmon which was also creamy and satisfying. Â I love the fact that I can order a side of sauteed spinach--and it is a large amount of spinach. Â It's not drenched in oil or spices, nor is it cooked until it turns brown; it's simply spinach. Â I always feel like I'm getting my daily veggie requirements with this side.
The atmosphere feels upscale yet casual dress is suggested, which is another thing I love about Terra Grille. Â This is the type of place where you just feel welcome and that the owner(s) take pride in the food.
The wine menu is extensive and the waiters are knowledgeable about the wines and accommoding if you want to taste before ordering. Â The Pinot Noir suggested by my waiter was excellent.
I completely recommend this place for a date night or even a quiet dinner alone. Â You will be pleasantly surprised.
I stopped in here for lunch with my boyfriend and was pleasantly surprised. Â It's really nice inside - not the place you'd expect in a Kroger shopping center.
The menu selection was varied: Â soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Â The food was especially fresh and seemed pretty healthy. Â I got a blackened tuna sandwich served with a side of yogurt dill sauce. Â The tuna was cooked as I requested (medium rare). Â It was well seasoned and the yogurt sauce complemented it just fine. Â As a side, I chose edamame - love this choice! Â They had a lot of interesting salads to choose from, and I'll probably get one of them next time.
Service was attentive and quick.
