Before I moved up to the NYC metro area, this was a spot I loved coming to. Firing the warmer months, the outdoor patio is nice, and looks over the river. Most nights have a DJ and live bands, so check out the event calendar for whose playing on a night.
Inside is nice - with many areas to accommodate drinks, dinner or private parties. Tons of seating or bar space if you want to catch the game too.
From a food perspective, the pizza is the main attraction here. They also have some good happy hour specials for the corporate folks in the area. Grab the buffalo chicken or plain pizza, and a few orange crushes and you're good to go.
HORRIBLE, RUDE, TACKY SERVICE.
Im going to talk about the HORRIBLE service me and my Girlfriend received tonight. First, when we went to the Hostess table the guy there said "In order to eat outside you have to order more than just a drink and appetizer, and also you can only stay for 90 minutes." Since we had planned to eat dinner, as awkward as that disclosure was, we still decided to eat outside. After our dinner a hostess/hostess manager came up to us and said, "Sorry to interrupt but we have a reservation in 15 minutes." Um WHAT? We just paid 65.00 for our meal and now we have to leave? As side note: There were other open tables (3 to be exact) there. Why us? And then another waitress said the same thing to another young couple, but didn't say anything to a group of rowdy older people that were there before us. Â This made us feel belittled, unappreciated and downright low. This was at the upmost Tacky Service at its fineset. As a Delaware resident and former Wilmington Resident will NEVER go back there again!
Great atmosphere. Very fun. It's a place to hang out at. Their outdoor patio is a big plus!!! It's right on the river.
I wasn't too impressed with their menu... :( Rather common, cheaper choices. No spunk, no creativity. Definitely not Vegeterian/Vegan/Gluten Free spot! You can find some side dishes maybe... The quality of food was 'whatever'. And it did take them long time to bring any food items out.
I may be back for a drink and/or snack, but not for dinner.
Can't really give an opinion on the food or drinks as once we were seated no waiter/waitress ever came up to us for our drink or food order. A male waiter did come by every 5 minutes or so to say he'd be right with us but never bothered to take even our drink order. Â It didn't seem busy at all at the time and I saw more then a few waitresses so the place wasn't understaffed, they just didn't seem to care how long we had to wait for our food and drinks. Â After about 15 minutes we just got up and walked down to Iron Hill where we received excellent service. Â Only giving this place 2 stars cause it does seem to have a nice ambiance, too bad nothing else seemed very good about the place.
Review Source:Great place. Â I decided to try a new place. Â So, being in Philly, I knew it was only a hop, skip and jump to try the Wilmington Waterfront. Â
To be honest, the only thing I didn't like was being forced to Valet park my car.
The cornbread was very good. Â A good crust, and sweet taste. Â Now, I wasn't in love with the acutal CORN in the bread, so if they take it out, it'll be perfect. Â My meal came out on a plate so large, a newborn baby could have slept comfortably on it. Â The ribs I ordered were good as well, even though they weren't as warm when they came out to my table. Â If they had been, I would have given the place five stars.
I'm glad I found this place, and I think that it's an even better place in warm weather, when they can entertain outside with their fire pits and band.
I'm definitely going again!
What a difference a year makes, I use to go to Firestone a lot for happy hour last year and that is when I first had their pizza. Â At the time, I thought their pizza was superb and I would often order it for lunch.
Fast-forward to a year later and I had a craving for their pizza and decided to order it for takeout. Â I ordered the rugged sausage pizza. Â When I got in my car, I open the box in anticipation to see what the pizza looked like. Â To my surprise, the pizza was smaller than what I remembered. Â My first bite into the pizza was lack luster to say the least. Â I was hoping the next few bites would be better. Â Unfortunately, it did not get better. Â My pizza was bland. Â There was a pesto sauce drizzled on the pizza, but I didn't taste it at all. Â Maybe the drive back to work ruined my pizza, but I doubt it, because I use to order take out all the time last year and the pizza was just as good as when I sat down inside and at it. Â
I was very disappointed.
Lets just say that this is not the greatest place ever. Â If you are looking to a crowdy place where after a ok dinner you want to party this is the place. Â I been to the bar area and if I was to dine he i would not appreciate all the drunks walking by the eating area to go to the bathroom. Â Yes, I did order some food while at the bar I have heard that the pizza here was great..WELL, lets just say that some one lied to me, very under cooked and since I ordered the Shrimp Pizza I have to admit I was able to count the litle pieces of what I think was Shrimp. Â Ill end this by saying that if you are looking for food you should go to the take out chinese restaurant, but if you are looking for a bar with live music and weird patrons this is your place.
Review Source:I went with eight other women to Firestone to celebrate my birthday. We always have fun there, so that was the perfect place for us to celebrate. Â We came for drinks and dinner. Â Our waiter, at first, was Tim. When he discovered that we already had drinks from the bar area, he called us ignorant, put his sunglasses on and walked away. Â He never returned or apologized. Â His behavior has put NINE patrons in uncomfortable positions.
Review Source:Sweetie and I wanted pizza for dinner. Decided to go out instead of ordering in. Had Firestone in our to-try list. Four stars for great pizza, great live music, and delicous drinks. I took away one star because their outside guests don't get the full menu. Not even the specials! Â The outdoor seating was sprawling. A few more food options would've made it perfect.
I had the chicken tenders (yum!), pepperoni pizza (double yum!), and stone crushes cocktail (triple yum!)
I'll be back with reinforcements. My girls would love this spot!
I have been to firestone at least 5 times and each time they have run out of something. Once they ran out of alcohol, which is confusing because they are owned by Big Fish, 2nd time they said they "completely ran out of food", and just yesterday I went during happy hour and was told that wings were on happy hour special, only to later be told that they "ran out of wings." Whoever is the supply chain manager of this restaurant should be fired, there is no reason that a restaurant runs out of essential items on such a consistent basis.
Review Source:First time here tonight and thoroughly enjoyed. The outdoor bar and dining area is super nice. Cocktail was fine. Ordered the cornbread with honey butter and the fried macaroni & cheese. Both were excellent. I had the BBQ half chicken which was real good. I chose the au gratin potatoes and macaroni and cheese as my sides and both were very good. My dining partner had the club salad and very satisfied. Instead of the ranch dressing chose the vinegarette.
Too stuffed to even THINK about dessert.
The food is mediocre and not a good value for money. Â Ambiance is ok, so if you want a great looking restaurant that doesn't taste very good, you should definitely go here. Â Go on half price night, because then you're at least getting the budget-tasting food at market value. Â
Avoid.
This must be the place to be on a Friday night because it was packed. I liked the atmosphere and our waitress was good but the food is just okay. I got the Bob Marley pasta and my fiancé got the pepperoni pizza. Nothing to write home about. I would go back for the atmosphere and drinks. Not the food.
Review Source:I would agree with most of the  Yelpers, great atmosphere but mediocre food.
Firestone is nestled in the Barclay building. Â They have a patio area with a fairly large bar right on the waterfront. Â I can only imagine how packed it gets on the summertime. Â They offer decent specials daily. Â For example, Tuesday is 1/2 price burger night and Wednesday is 1/2 price pizza night! Â
The pizzas come in an individual size and range from $11-13. Â I didn't love the pizza particularly because the crust takes up about 50% of the pizza! Â The crust is extremely doughy and the pizza comes soaked in olive oil. Â My advice is to skip the pizza and come here for HH!
i was here for a bachlorette party. Â i had my own tab. Â i ordered a draft beer. Â when i got another beer the bar tender gave me a bottle. Â then after 2 more drafts i was told the bottles were only 2.00 and drafts 3.75. Â why didnt someone tell me that the first time i ordered? Â and i was charged for 7 draft beers which i didnt have. Â when i questioned the bartender she claimed i was with a group of girls and that is probably why i was charged more. Â i knew none of these girls and they were not on my bill. Â i told a few people about this and was told Firestone's has a reputation for over charging the customers. Â i will not go back to this place. Â but i will have to admint the pizza is pretty good. Â i will give 2 stars based on service. Â it is a shame because the pizza is so good but i won't go back.
Review Source:Big let down:( We have been wanting to try Firestone's all summer and after finally getting there, I wish we hadn't.
Appetizers, we ordered the "Artichoke" Spinach Dip and Jerk Chicken Fondue.
The Dip was pure spinach, good luck finding an artichoke or any cheese in it.
The Fondue was horrible. The cheese was more of a flour base than cheese. The chicken that came with it was tender and well seasoned. But I wouldn't order either of them again.
My husband and I ordered the ribs. Falling off the bone tender, we were excited for a moment until we tasted them. Â The BBQ sauce was horrible. It was pasty and grainy, didn't have a good BBQ flavor at all. Â Later, after reading some of the other reviews I've notice others complaining about the bbq sauce. You would think owners and management would see these reviews and change some things.
One of my sons ordered the filet med rare, it was rare. He enjoyed his Mac n cheese!
Another son ordered the "10oz" Hawaiian Hanger Steak, which looked to be no more than 4 oz. compared to the 8 oz. Filet.
Our third son ordered the seafood pizza and didn't enjoy it either. He ate one slice and didn't even want to take the rest home.
Overall it was very disappointing. Â If we ever return, it would be for drinks at the outdoor bar.
I went here for a stand up comedy night, and I have to say, I wasn't terribly impressed. The restaurant itself has a chain-like feeling to it (is it a chain?) and the food was so so.
All I really wanted was some respectable food and a coffee. It was 8pm on a weeknight, but they told me they had no coffee available. A bit odd.
I also got a beer which ended up tasting exactly like Coors Lite. Someone needs to clean their taps...
Service was spotty, but they were at least nice. This is definitely not a place I'd seek out in the future.
Ate here with some family members to celebrate my sister's birthday which was few days earlier. Â She organized it and was hoping for all her family and friends to eat at the same table, but she got beated out by a reserved party that night. Â So, we sat at these large circular booths far apart. Â So, if you have a bunch of friends (more than 5) anticipate you will have to scream and share jokes some distance away. Â
I have to admit, I read the reviews here on Yelp prior to going there. Â And, yes a lot of it was true to the bone. Â There must be lack of communication between the servers and the chefs. Â
Our waitress was more than accomodating, she was cute and very apologetic when the other servers brought out the wrong appetizer. Our table ordered a spinach dip, instead came out some jerk chicken fondue thingy which my sister's table also ordered.  Basically, the appetizer didn't look too appetizing with its grapes, pineapple, chicken, and some croutons. I didn't taste it either. So our waitress apologized and brought out the spinach dip, which didn't look good or taste impressive either.  Well, this looked and tasted like you could  throw a bunch of cheese on a box of frozen spinach and microwave it.  The corn bread with honey butter was okay, but I think Ms. Tootsie's in Philly is better.
My step-mother ordered the roasted prime rib au jus cooked medium.  I kid you not, I had flashbacks from field trip of Meadowland's Medieval times looking at this thing  with all that fat and grisel and pink in the center.  All she could taste was fat, which was obvious so she asked our poor waitress who kindly agreed to take it back and asked for a burger cooked medium done.  My step-mother was pleased with this choice as we were almost done with our meals.
I ordered the rotissere salad which I had initially requested to have flank steak on it, but somehow it can't be done?  Why? Because the chef can't do that? Huh??  Must be a blessing  that I sticked with the chicken judging how my step-mother's prime rib looked.  The chicken was dry and had no seasoning, nothing rotissere about it. The salad was huge and was okay.  The blueberry lemonade martini thing was very good to me just the right amount of alcohol.
I do wonder if they are making these waiters sweat to compensate for the poor quality of food at this place. Â I can't think of what is distinctive about this place. Â I haven't tried their 'crafted' pizza, so I can't comletely knock them. Â Overall, this place did not make me say...can't wait to go here again. Â I don't mind if I'll come here for a drink and share a pizza, but there's nothing here I would have the craving for.
Service was good, food was good, and prices were reasonable. It's not just a restaurant, but also a bar. When I visited, they had switched over to a very limited late night menu and we were required to sit near the bar which was super loud. This place would've gotten a fourth star if we could've had dinner in a slightly quieter place.
Review Source:Met here with a group on a Tuesday after work so it wasn't packed. We sat outside under then canopy where we continually combated flies and wasp-like mosquitos. I know the place is huge, but a few citronella candles would have helped. Â I guess that's the price to pay to have a neat waterfront.
Overall, the drinks were not overpriced and the food was pretty good. We got a few different pizzas and the smoked salmon plate (which was very good and large). Service was not fast so I can imagine how it must be when the joint is totally jammed (which I hear it can be). Having the band playing would have been pretty cool if you went for a date but as a large group I can imagine you'd have to retreat inside if you want to hear each other or get service.
We made reservations for seven for dinner. Â They sat us in a corner of the bar with no server. Â We had to walk up to the bar (repeatedly) to order our food and drinks. Â The bartenders made us leave our credit cars with them to keep tabs open. Â As we were leaving a person in our group realized they left their credit bard behind. Â They immediately turned around to go pick it up. Â The bouncer blocked their way, told them to walk to the end of the line (which was up to a 30 minute wait at this point) and pay cover to get the card back. Â Six of us said we would wait outside where the bouncer could see us while the person ran in, or had the bouncer escort the person to get their card, or just have the bouncer run and grab the card to return it. Â "Come back tomorrow and get your card, it will still be here." Â
Kidnapping credit cards, rude bouncers, and the lack of any service will keep us from returning, but the staff won't care because the place will still be overcrowded. Â I can't understand people's fascination with watching a bad cover band next to mosquito infested waters, but it seems to be working for Firestone.
3.5 (yelp help me out with the half stars please )
I've been here several times for drinks and dancing with my crew, but this was my first experience at a semi sit down dinner. The weather was perfect for sitting on the spacious patio. After putting my name on the list for patio seating I figured id wait at the inside bar for my gals to show up. I sat at the inside bar for about 5 min with absolutely no acknowledgement from the bartender. I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking that he had just overlooked me accidentally but he literally waited on every other person that came up to the bar other than me (that would be a strike one Firestone). So I knew I wouldn't be giving him any of my $$ I walked outside to the bar and was greeted by a familiar face and given a pretty good drink off the signature cocktail menu. One of my friends showed and she ordered a cocktail as well and we waited for the third person to arrive. Pizzas are half priced on WED so two of us split a original (mozzarella , tomatoes and tomato sauce) I ordered a side salad in addition for some greens in my dinner ( its all about balance) The pizzas are  hearth baked in a huge oven and the crust is crispy and gooey all at the same time I enjoyed my pizza very much but wish they offered more pizzas without meat toppings :(  All but a few of the wines by the glass are 5.00 so it made for a pretty inexpensive meal.
My only two issues with this meal were the rude bartender who I will never go to again. The hostess quoted me a 15 min wait we never did make it to our table because 45 min later the buzzer still hadn't gone off and we just decided to get food at the bar.
This place gets pretty packed for HH during the week and the have awesome specials nightly and live music on the deck.
Went here tonight for dinner for the first time. I was very excited but it did not live up to my expectations.
I'll start with the pros: the atmosphere was great, both inside and outside. I'm actually going back on a Friday or Saturday this summer to check out the bar patio. The drink menu looked good and I love me some patio drinking. Also, the cornbread with honey butter was delicious, though overpriced. For $5 I think we should have had twice the amount.
Cons: Service was slow and all over the place. We ordered the cornbread as an app, the entree sized chopped salad, side of sweet potato fries and a rack of ribs w/ veggies and rice. The cornbread came out right away, which was nice. A short while later my salad came out. I started eating because I figured my fiance's ribs and my fries would follow shortly. I was wrong.
I was eating the salad for a good 20 minutes before the ribs showed up, and when they showed up it was a 1/2 rack instead of the whole rack. The waitress ran over and dropped the plate with us so fast that we couldn't even say anything about it until we were able to flag someone else down, quite a few minutes later. The waitress misheard us, which was okay, but it was annoying. Then a few minutes after this the sweet potato fries decided to show up and join the party. It was just strange/inappropriate timing for everything. I felt bad chowing down on the massive salad while my fiance sat there twiddling his thumbs for 20 minutes.
In terms of taste, cornbread was awesome, everything else was a let down. Sweet potato fries could have been good if they weren't loaded with salt... not the mention the dipping sauce was just odd. I actually couldn't figure out what was in it. The salad was alright. The hearts of palm unfortunately overpowered the taste of everything else. There was shredded rotisserie chicken in it, which was tasty, juicy and tender- however they didn't do the best job carving it. There was a noticeable amount of cartilage/skin/fat still clinging to the pieces. The ribs were cooked very well- tender and falling off the bone. They would have been great, but the BBQ sauce was completely lacking and under seasoned. Unfortunate. Also, the veggies that came with it were waterlogged, bleached of color and mushy.
I left disappointed but the bar had such an appeal that I plan on coming back... I just won't order any food off the dinner menu. The pizza did look tasty, however!
Firestone has vastly improved since it first opened (or re-opened as Firestone). Â I ate here twice and came at night once within a few months of their opening and the service was horrendous. Â I decided to give it another chance a few weeks ago and was very pleased. Â The food has always been good, but it's nice to see that the service has improved.
Be prepared for the restaurant to be out of whatever you order. Â I have never been able to get the prime rib because, as the menu warns, it sells out early. Â (I'm unconvinced that they actually ever serve the prime rib; I think it's on the menu just to tease customers.) Â Their other menu items also sell out. Â The kitchen has extremely poor communication with the wait staff, so don't be surprised when your waitress comes back to you five to ten minutes after you order to tell you they're out of something.
We ordered the Hawaiian pizza (on special that night) and the Hawaiian hanger steak to match. Â They were out of the hanger steak so we had the filet instead. Â Both dishes were wonderful. Â The filet was tender and perfectly cooked and the pizza oozed cheesy deliciousness. Â
My biggest complaint is the lack of options in their sides. Â Their only vegetable is the vegetable of the day, which is usually steamed broccoli or something equally unappealing. Â I would give them four stars if they would add a salad as one of their sides. Â The au gratin potatoes are amazing and the mac and cheese is pretty good.
We came back a few days later to enjoy the bar scene, which is always lively. Â We were able to get drinks much faster than I have in the past. Â The live music was great and the band even did an encore. Â Overall, this is a great place for dinner and drinks.
Only lived in the area for 4 months and we're impressed. This place is comparable to a riverfront bar in Georgetown. Amazing patio with great built-in features. People love to brag about trolley, but this place is cleaner, less trashy and has more self-respect.
Pros:
-atmosphere and layout. huge space, beautiful space.
-drink and food specials all the time, so the prices aren't that ridiculous. on average we spend less here than trolley...and have a better time here.
-great food. we thought delaware was oblivious to good pizza, until we came here. well the rest of the state might still be oblivious, but their pizzas are great. salads are great, burgers are great. mac and cheese is great.
-TVs everywhere, great for games.
-nice staff. always well staffed. they're attentive and for the most part friendly... there's this one rude brunette bartender with tattoos... anyway the rest of the staff will give great recommendations when ordering food or drink.
-socially, they have fun events, themes and promos.
-crowd is eclectic. i've seen 21 year olds to 60+ somethings at the bar. wonder if the crowd changes in the summer seasons when it gets busier? hope the scum don't take over...
Cons
-Live entertainment has been OK, not amazing by any means.
-The weather hasn't been cooperating this year and we're anxiously awaiting the outdoor patio to open.
In short: great scene, great food.
I have been to Firestone twice and the atmosphere is pretty good, spacious, and intimate, depending on where you sit. The patio in the warmer months is great, alot going on and sitting by the river is nice, whether it's at a table or at the outside bar.
The food isn't bad, but in my opinion  most of what's on the menu, which you can find on their website, is not worth the price; but that's just me.
I will say that their "Rugged Sausage with pesto Pizza I like very much and it's definitely better than the Columbus Inn's gourmet pizza.
Last night I had the Thai Noodle Salad, I have had Thai Noodle Salad and Firestone's came nowhere close to it, sorry not paying 14 bucks for a salad with a couple ounces of steak on it.
If you don't mind the prices then give it a try.
FireStone has a great atmosphere and a spacious riverfront patio area. Â In the warmer months there's generally a long waiting list at dinnertime for seating in the patio area, but if you're just going for drinks there's an outdoor bar as well.
The menu is pretty varied, their specialty being personal-sized pizzas (though they're big enough for two people). Â I haven't tried many types of their pizzas, but the few I've tried were delicious. Â I think their veggie burger is pretty good, but a vegetarian friend of mine described it as almost TOO meat-like. Â The pricing is about average for the area.
The servers are pretty friendly and the bartenders know their stuff. Â However, on one occasion I was unable to order an item on the menu because, as the waitress told me, the kitchen was out of the necessary ingredients which I found a little odd for such a large operation.
Usually there's plenty of space, but on weekends - especially during Summer - the bar area can get very, very crowded. Â And at New Years this past year, it was so crowded it felt like a sold-out show at the Electric Factory.
Overall it's a nice place with a good atmosphere and great food, and I intend on going as soon as the patio is opened up for Spring.
Formerly known as CW Harborside, the main draw for this place is the waterfront patio.
Relatively cheap beers, but I agree with some, the bar service can be slow at odd times.
Good live and DJ music, and we've never paid a cover.
Great place to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July or make a pit stop on the Loops.
The old Conley Ward and CW Harborside site has been redone. Â The owner also runs Bigfish from what I hear through the rumor mill. Â I had high hopes for Firestone when I went to a private party at the site.
The deck area is large with a nice cover in case of rain, not significantly changed from the previous tenant. Â There was a nice spread of food available with different dishes so that I got a nice taste of the different specialties.
The pizza was cooked in their signature brick oven. Â There were several types available for sampling. Â The standard pepperoni pizza was on a thin crust that was crisp. Â The crust was fairly standard in flavor and while baked in a brick oven it did not have that smokey complex wood fired taste that I had hoped for. Â The tomatoes were thickly sliced and juicy with a fresh taste. Â The cheese was mild and somewhat plain. Â The other pizzas, like the artichoke, tries to be fancy and exciting, but falls a bit short.
The burgers are good, but fairly standard. Â The mix of beef is a bit leaner and leads to a dryer patty. Â Not overly dry, but not truly juicy either. Â Buns are normal and toppings are okay.
The shrimp cocktail is cocktail after all, not much can be done to mess that up or make it great. Â The shrimp are large, juicy, and fresh taste. Â The sauce is plain. Â Crabcakes are well sized and contain large lump crab, but the cake is somewhat loose and not as dense as I prefer.
Overall the place was okay and has large areas for private parties. Â I do like the venue for gatherings. Â The food has a nice variety and is well made, but not the best I have had. Â For dinner the inside venue is cozy and comfortable which will allow nice dinners.
Everything about the restaurant was great, service was friendly and attentive. Â The craft pizza I had was great. Â The price was fair. Â The only thing about this location that is hit or miss is the parking. Â If they could somehow acquire a bigger lot that is nearby, it would be the perfect place to go. Â I plan to go back often.
Review Source:Firestone has the location to be a great restaurant, the ambiance to be good restaurant, the service to be a fall-back restaurant, and the execution that makes it not worth returning.
The kitchen prepared a chicken that looked dry from across the table, a confusing medley of overdressed greeens in the ahi tuna salad, a Hawaiian steak that was completely undercooked and overmarinated, and a limited draft beer selection that was harbinger of all the disappointments to come. Â
Certainly not the "scene" it claims to be, but it's not really the roasting house either.
This place was really happenin' last night (Saturday). I had a couple of beers, a few friends and a great time!
I didn't order any food... already had dinner at my temporary home (that I will be at for the next 7 weeks).
A Place with NO COVER on a weekend? Fantastic!
Great DJ
Great Live Music
The atmosphere was relaxed but happy and still full of LIFE!
Seemed to be All Ages, some dancing, some viewing...
I need to get back there and try the food. Any suggestions?
I went there for a friend's birthday, and to see my favorite local band "Daze End:" There was literally maybe 10 people around my side of the bar with 5 bartenders. I waited 10 minutes to get noticed for a refill, I already had a tab open. so I decided to wave to get noticed. The female bartender said "WHAT DO YOU WANT??!!!" I said refill please..then she said " WE HAD A COMPUTER PROBLEM.....SIR!!!!" with the worst attitude. I said " i understand, but if if someone would've made me aware of that instead of ignoring me..." before I finished, she grabbed my empty cup and threw it away and look at me with that F.U attitude." I guess she forgot that in the service industry you need to be in control of your feelings, and understand that a paying customer should not suffer the consequence of a faulty system, in this case the computer system. Don't step into firestone unless you are expecting a low class establishment type of service. If you enjoy being abused, then it's the right place for you.
Review Source:Been here twice service is good food not so much. Ribs are dry and tough, prime rib had no flavor. Sent both back and got burgers instead. Burgers were good fries are good. Would like to have bar happy hour menu on patio area. Large groups should not be allowed to take over patio area. Wife and I felt like we were pushed out by large group trying to sit at a 4 top. They would grab chairs from other tables and had people hanging on railing around patio, Management didn't do anything.
Review Source:I've never been inside of this place. We pretty much stumbled upon it while walking the riverfront. The atmosphere outside was awesome. The bar w/ a few couches and seats to just have a drink and relax. Just had one drink, which was very potent, and an appetizer that wasn't bad. I would recommend this place if its nice out and you just want to chill. The only thing missing was a TV.
Review Source:Firestone opened this month on the Riverfront, at the location that was previously known as C.W. Harborside steakhouse.
Firestone serves "craft" pizza, steaks, and as before, a large bar with plenty of screens for your favorite sports.
This was our first visit. Â It looks like they are still getting their act together. Â We arrived at the beginning of dinner service/happy hour (starts at 4pm) and things seemed chaotic.
We tried a pizza, a steak, and an appetizer, to get a sampling of their offering. Â
For appetizer, we tried the jerk chicken fondue. Â Sounds interesting on paper, but you can't take chicken (it was tasty), some fried croutons, grapes and pinapples and expect it to go with melted cheddar (?) fondue. Â The result was weird and not recommended. Â $10.
The pizza was good: made in a brick-fired oven, decent crust, good toppings that are arguably "crafty" (we had the chicken and mushroom). Â A bit pricey at $11-12 for relatively small pizzas, but this is not Papa John's. Â Still I'd recommend you try one.
I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye.  What came out was a NY strip with "Hawaiian" marinade.  Now, I don't mind if a ribeye has to be substituted for strip, but couldn't someone just inform me that they were out of ribeye and checked with me whether that was OK?  It's a bit insulting if they thought I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.  Regardless, it was tasty  and a very sizable strip for the reasonable price of $26 with two sides.  As for the sides that are available, they need to be a bit more creative.  There seemed to be 4 or 5 potato preparations, 1 vegetable du jour and 1 couscous.  C'mon guys... there is only so much potato one can eat.  Try something like creamed spinach, sauteed mushrooms, fried onions, or others that might actually give me some choice.
Service was a tad slow. Â I couldn't figure out how they allocate their servers, as my waitress was cris-crossing all over the place along with the other servers. Â What's going on?
Even with the fumbles, I'm hoping it's a one-time thing. Â I'd like to see this place straighten things out, as it's nice to have something other than seafood restaurants along the Riverfront. Â I was disappointed with the closing of CW Harborside, but now it seems we got it back, albeit under a different name, plus brick-fired pizza.
Okay, aside from the food, my only other complaint: lose the boulders. Â Yes, I get it... fire"stone"... but they just look stupid just lined up like that like leftover construction debris. Â We know how to get to the entrance just fine without them. Â Better place a few of them around the patio and put some lighting around it to make it look like "fire". Â At least it'd be decorative. Â But hey, that's just me.
