    + great wings
    - slow service, no wifi

This is the original Hooters.  It's nice inside, with updated decor.  Lots of booths, and super friendly waitresses.  I was disappointed they did not offer free wifi.

Bar is very open and loud, so be prepared for a not so quiet meal.  But it is Hooters, so you really can't complain.

Great wings. It was my sons first time at a Hooters. Glad his first was at the original.

Back in the day, I loved the OG Hooters. It was kinda divey and honest, and I really appreciated it for what it WAS. Sadly all of the original charm has left the building, literally and now you walk into a disneyesque chain bullshit hooters gift shop!

Shrinky dink wings, anemic salads, and for the bargain price of just shy of twenty bucks you can have some watered down "cocktail" and you keep the glass!!. Sadly this formerly kinda cool place has morphed into just another tourist rape joint. I hate that....

Let me start off by clarifying that the food quality honestly just depends on when you go in and who is in the kitchen cooking. Sometimes it sucks and other times it's spot on. The wing sauces are BUTTER BASED so yes, mild and medium will (shockingly) taste like butter. No, the mild doesn't have much flavor. Medium doesn't really either, but I still love it. Order the hot sauce if you are used to most other places' medium.

Oysters are hit or miss. Fried pickles and lotsa tots are my go to appetizers. Buffalo shrimp are awesome too, but always leave me with an upset stomach. Fries suck unless you load them up with seasoning salt & jalapeno cheese sauce or ranch. Opt for tater tots instead, they're a lot better.

There is no happy hour; drinks aren't all that strong. Smoking is allowed in all of the outdoor seating, so don't get upset when you sit out there with your children.

Now as for service, it's the same situation as the kitchen. It really depends on which waitress you get... Some are very helpful and enthusiastic, others really don't care. The place overall has definitely gone down hill since it reopened. Food tends to take roughly 15 minutes, depending on how busy they are. Often times it will take longer. The atmosphere really isn't as joyful and pleasing as it used to be.

Hot busy day and stumbled in absolutely starving. One look at the gorgeous waitress and said a little prayer hoping for fast, and competent service before I just broke down and started spraying condiments down my gullet in a hungry act of desperation. Thought I could get by, by adding some crab legs to a few wings and possibly some shrimp. Wasn't going to happen. Only got to order five wings-thats it. My man got the other five, and a salad with a couple beers. After a bug-carcass filled beer, and a few wings we realized we weren't getting any more food. Not only could we not order any additional food after the first round, but what we did order would never be delivered to us. Server is AWOL although I can see her just inside the window fixing her face in a Covergirl mirror. Deciding we might sustain our lives by eating the salad we eventually got, it arrived all wrong. We cancel the order and crawl to Pete and Shorty's next door for nutrition. Had a far better experience sans young retarded waitress with coochie cutter shorts and tights that didn't match her skin tone. yay!

Hooters is my absolute favorite place to go for chicken wings. I am really addicted to their style of wings - breaded with a very delicious sauce. Every time we've gone to this location, the service is excellent and the food arrives very quick and fresh. I like that we can order a platter of wings and another of fries and everyone just helps themselves. It's a very nice laid back, casual, restaurant.

I love that they have added outdoor seating, especially with the gorgeous weather we've been having this spring. We can take the kids and go enjoy some chicken wings and the fresh air, and the noise outside is always very low. I am a little surprised that they have a kid's menu, but they do, and the food from it is pretty good.

I do agree with Duane D's recommendation to go up one level when you order the wings. "Mild" aren't spicy what so ever, and the "Medium" wings are pretty much what mild would be anywhere else. We'd definitely get the "Hot" in the future.

The home of Hooters! Finally, after 15 to 20 years of going to these places. Food was standard hooters and service was above average. Nothing really special thought but what do you expect from chained restaurants?

Meh, it's Hooters.  Girls with make-up slathered on their faces, nice bodies and shitty attitudes.  Perfect place for guys, I guess.  I'd rather eat some place where the emphasis on the food food, personally.  I will say though that I absolutely love the butter-rich Buffalo sauce in which they drench their wings.

This is "the original" Hooters where it all started decades ago, so one would expect this location to offer up flawless service, which simply isn't the case.  I ordered some wings, beer and a chicken Caesar salad.  With the salad, I ordered grilled chicken, not blackened.  I think the bartender forgot to put my salad order in because there was about 15 minutes between the time I finished my wings and when the salad arrived.  When it did arrive, the chicken was blackened.  I sent it back and canceled the order.  Paid for my wings and beer and went next door to Pete & Shorty's where I had a much more pleasant experience.

I was excited when I found out the original Hooter's was in Clearwater.  Why?  I don't know.  As a gay man I never have cared for Hooters but nevertheless my partner and I decided to go.  We ordered 20 wings, an order of fries and had 2 beers each.  When we got the original medium spicy wings I thought to myself "these are awful."  Right then, my partner looked at me and said this is just fried chicken.  They did!  Fried chicken tossed in butter.  We couldn't get the waitress attention and were starving.  THANK GOD there was a bottle of Hooters buffalo sauce on the table.  Our fries were ice cold.  Neither of us touched them. We ate about 5 wings each and asked for our check. The manager stopped by our table to say HI and make sure everything was OK.  We decided to go ahead and tell her what we thought about our visit. She looked at the wings and said "Hmm, that's odd...we can take them back and toss them again."  I was thinking... "In what? Your special recall sauce. No thank you."   Then she walked off.  So much for customer service.  The tab was $45.00 plus tip.  That's why this place gets a METHINKS NOT!  A little over 50 bucks for 4 beers and 10 wings.  Everything else was thrown away.

To put this in to perspective.  I just went to Longhorn Steakhouse. I ordered my partner and I a steak dinner. Each came with a side and salad.  Total $27.00. I thought I can leave the waitress a 20.00 tip and still come out cheaper than a few bad wings at Hooters.  Save your money and go get yourself a steak dinner.

3 stars because this is the original and it is an OK place to stop for a beer. The food is pretty mediocre in my opinion. I just never liked anything on the menu.

I generally like Hooters restaurants, and this one is special.  The Clearwater Hooters is the first, the original Hooters.  Unlike many Hooters locations, this one is not in a beautiful spot or a tourist mecca -- but it definitely has a special feel.

Hooters recently remodeled the entire place, updating the appearance, and adding outside seating.

If you are coming to Hooters, you should eat wings.  If you like "Medium" in most places, order "Hot" at Hooters.  Also, try the "Lots-a-Tots" as an appetizer--tater tots don't get any better than that.

The only reason I went to this one was it is the very 1st ever Hooters.

Pretty substandard visit.  Service was good and the pie was awesome!

You can't go into a Hooters with high expectations. The wings were decent. The beer was cold. The Hooters weren't wowing anyone. Where do they keep all of the Hooters girls from the calendars? I want to go to that location!

Where it all began surprised it made it to what it is now. When you go to Hooters you have high expectations so going to the Original was expecting to be blown away was not. The wings were soggy not wet but soggy. The oysters had a chemical taste. The girls are nice so that was why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 like I had planned.

Hubby and I have been going here for years. It's a fun restaurant and I love that it's the original. The wings are fabulous, no doubt about it. Recently, they renovated the restaurant and it came out great. We really enjoy going here and always have great service. No complaints.

The original and still my favorite. Wings are great and the burger more than adequate and the servers are always lovely and freindly. Add a cold beer and great sports screens and you've got the basics for success. Lunch is quick if you need it to be and dinner time is a "take your time and enjoy" pace.

I highly recommend you go as this is the original Hooters!  The staff is friendly and the food is good. If you don't like your wings too greasy then order them with "no breading" and they still sauce them and you get a lot less fattening coating and grease.

This isn't the first time I have come here but both time I have had great experiences.  The wings are great I definitely enjoyed them.  Both time our waitresses have been great and always around when we needed something.  The first time I came here it was before the remodeling of the store.  I like the new updates everything seems more brighter and open.  Seems bigger also, they have gotten a lot more TVs I think they where all LED TVs.  Overall great place to get wings and great sports bar.

We had Ashley as a waitress.  She was a bit rude at first and didn't like our humor (it was clean) so we were a little put off, but she lightened up a bit and she came back with our drinks and took the order.  Their menu seems a bit bigger with some blackened options and a few extra sandwich features than normal, but other than decor it looks like many of the other Hooters and didn't look as antique as I would have expected.

Stopped here a week ago. Been to the previous facility 5-10 years ago. I liked what they did with this place.Much more open and spacious. A lot more natural light available. Large gift shop with a Wall of Fame (historical articles, ads, calendars, etc. as well as memorabilia).

Place was pretty packed. This was about 2 pm so I was a little surprised. I opted to sit at the outdoor portion of the bar. Didn't realize until later that this was a smoking section.

Bartenders were a little busy so took a bit to take my order. They were very friendly and pleasant. I'd had a large breakfast so opted for 1/2 dozen hot wings. Quite good. As opposed to most sports bars I go to in PA their wings actually have the wing portion still attached, not a lot of meat on that portion.

Pleasant breeze on the patio. It's a shame it's so close to the roadway though, lot of traffic.

If this is your first, second or even third HOOTERS experience STAY AWAY!  Service......sucks rooster balls! We Sat at the same table for 10 mins and no one came up to us, thought it was because we were brown? Could not even get the hostess to help. Moved tables and still no help. Dang!  Had to ask a bus guy to help us and he did..Thanks to him we finally got some help.  I agree with all the bad reviews. I have been to over 30 HOOTERS around the country plus the Two HOOTERS casino and have never been treated this way. ....
I just got my wings, the 30 wings deal bit into one and it was COLD.  I sent them back and you know what?....returned microwaved. I know because I ripped into one earlier and noticed it was the same ones I sent back.  For the Original HOOTERS it truly is the worst service,  worst food, and truly ridiculous!
The only good thing I got was a shot glass and that is the only reason I gave one star on this review for the amount of gifts they have.
STAY Away!  Far away like Loveland,CO. , Las Vegas, Jensen Beach, WA., Arlington TX.....have the best HOOTERS!

Went to the remodeled Hooters last night, I think they also remodeled the staff, very friendly, orders where correct, staff seemed happier and more with it!  We had a great time, the girls even took a picture w/my Grandma, since she just had a B-day.  Thanks again for making Grandma laugh and have a great time:-)

What an embarrassment for the original Hooters.  We are locals and have been here in the past and just never were satisfied.   Recently with the remodel we wanted to check it out again.

Mistake mistake mistake.  Service is still horrible, most girls were snooty (our waitress wasn't good, but she was at least pleasant), FOOD WAS HORRIBLE.

    We ordered:
    -Wings 10pieces (this was okay....)
    -Fried Pickles (served room temperature)
    -Loaded Curly fries (disgusting)
-Buffalo Chicken Wrap (came out with no sauces?)  Requested some and was 10 minutes before any was served
-Basket of Fries, server asked if we wanted them with the wrap, and then charged us $2.75, no explanation.
-Boneless Chicken Wings (came out chilled??)

It was extremely slow to receive our food after the appetizers, wings and pickles.   We did mention to the server that the boneless chicken wings were cold, she said I will get you some new ones, that never came.   She then stated that we said no?

While we were waiting for a table I was looking at their shirts and was going to buy something but after this experience there is no way I want to own anything Hooters.

This restaurant needs new management right away, I'm shocked they are still opened after 30 years.    I guess they have survived on all of the out-of-towers going in to visit the original restaurant.

Just stay away from this place.   Wing house girls are just as good looking, and their food is decent.

Enjoyed being able to say I went to the Original Hooters. Service was-- eh... the girl wasn't really attentive and brought us our Caesar Salad with no eating utensils and we couldn't find her for a good 5 minutes after she walked away. Then we get our wings and sauce, we get 2 ranch 2 bleu cheese, yet we didn't ask for any bleu cheese. YUCK! She also forgot to bring out our potato salad, and we had to wait for her to show her face for a good 10 minutes. When we finally got it, again, she's MIA. She took our forks with the salad, so guess what? We damn near ate the whole thing with our hands. Wings were really good as any other hooters. I had a drink that came with a tall hooters girl glass, and you got to keep the glass. The drink was pretty delish, can't remember the name of it but it was the only one that you could get the glass with, that wasn't creamy.

Food was good but the service needs help!

My boyfriend and I like going to this Hooters and have always had positive experiences there in the past. However, on our last trip, the bartender told us they no longer offer a military discount, though they had just a few weeks before.

As the original Hooters, I am embarrassed for the leadership of this company.  Let us call a spade a spade and recognize that the majority of customers do not go here for the food, but that being said you can only skimp on food quality and service so much before the magic of the skimpy outfits wears off.  Recently the size of the wings has gotten smaller than the girls' outfits and they lack the flavor offerings of a Buffalo Wild Wings by a mile.  With the servers being such a key part of their business, I am dumbfounded with the general lack of attractiveness and sadly have low expectations for the service quality.

This is nothing more than a place to go to say that you checked the box of eating at the original Hooters.

The original, huh? If I were the CEO, I would be ashamed of these girls. Yeah, they're hot. (Well a few of them are, anyway.). But hotness doesn't excuse their lack of customer service and overall serving abilities. Let's just say that we expected more from the original.

When we arrived around 6pm on a summer Monday night, the place was pretty bare. We were taken care of pretty quickly when it came to drinks and ordering our food - or so we thought. Between the time that we ordered and our food actually came, business began to pick up. We noticed that we were missing our appetizer, so we flagged down our server (Abril) when we got the chance. This wasn't easy because she was pretty absent for the most part. By this time, we had already finished our entree. Next thing we knew, our server was bringing us plain curly fries, when we had ordered the Mexican version. She finally got it fixed a few minutes later.

The food was typical Hooters food. It wasn't my thing, personally - my palate is a bit more refined. But if you are a 20-year-old pitching a tent in the middle of a restaurant and love greasy food, you should feel right at home. Our fries were boring. The fish tacos were just ok. My hubby's blackened grouper sandwich was a piece of fish between a hamburger bun and little blackened flavor. In general, we found the food pretty flavorless.

After not seeing our server much during dinner, we also had to wave her down for our check. Then we proceeded to find another server in order to cash us out. Our girl had pulled the disappearing act AGAIN. This place should be called "Hoot-dini's" instead.

This was the first time we have ever left a restaurant without leaving a tip. We won't come back.

The Original Hooters... must-stop for travelers as it's the original,
but i guess if you're a local then it's a good option for those game/fight nights... but to come here for food is a joke. i dunno why my husband loves hooters wings... it's greasy and slimy. the only thing i really like is the celery/carrots/dips. i think buffalo wild wings is better. or the wings at the bowling alleys... but seriously, we had the wings, naked wings, onion rings, fries and the lobsters and those king legs and they were a disappointment. only saving grace is the hooter girls are always nice... but that's their job, right?

I am not a Hooters guy by any stretch of the imagination.  The casino in Vegas was pretty deplorable, and I only suffered through that to see a concert.  However, when I saw a sign indicating that this was the ORIGINAL location of Hooters, I felt compelled as a man to see what all of the fuss was about.  After all, it was this very location that spawned a nationwide chain of restaurants, an airline, and plenty of controversy along the way.  There must be something magical about this place.

Or not.  I liked the layout of this bar and restaurant.  Being Florida, they have additional outdoor seating year-round which gives the place an informal, breeziness.  The ambiance is laid back and is definitely a chill place to grab a beer or see a sports game.  The eye candy was really incidental to the place for me.

I popped in for lunch and put in a to-go order.  I was able to get a 6-piece wing lunch with fries for either $6 or $7, I can't recall.  Either way, it was especially cheap.  Waiting at the bar, my order was filled in not even 5 minutes.  The service was gracious, and the food was generally bad.  The wings are breaded and really oily, and the fries are curly and bland.  It cries out for a beer, but this was lunch.  Oh well.  I should say though that these wings are better than the ones I had at the Hooters in Fredericksburg, VA during trivia nights years ago, but I am quibbling about gradations of badness.  This is nothing you would likely want to eat on a regular basis.  The location was nice enough though for me to visit on a drinks-only basis.  Recommend for that.  3 stars because they are the original restaurant, and that is about as high as I could rate any Hooters really.

First hooters yay! I stopped here more to say that I've been here than for anything else really.  Food was... not too good, pretty horrible actually.  Wings came to me very weak and I actually had to order a side of the sauce to make them edible, and my margarita came to me tasting like pure mixer, but oh well.  I didn't expect much.  A cool place to hang out and watch a game none the less.

Also, a lot of complaints about the girls being rude or snobby... they were nothing but polite with me...

I think this place is an great place to grab some wings and catch up with your friends. It may get busy and crowded at times but it's a great place meet new and old friends. This is the original Hooters so that's something to be proud of and most of the girls will help you no matter what.

The food has always been good. I love the blue cheese burger, wings, raw oysters and the buckets of oysters!

I did not know this location in Clearwater was the very first original Hooters until I looked it up on Yelp.  So does it mean the food or the girls they have better than other locations??  The answer is no!

I have been to Hooters only once besides this time.  That  was in NC...the food was much better (not saying their food was great....it was decent).   The food I had in Clearwater was just disgusting.

Now the service.  Our waitress was nice to us but I think she just wanted to get good tips.  Other girls who weren't serving out table were just terrible.  They got no smile on their faces, no greeting and they do not even acknowledge your existence.  One of my friends was going to  fill an application for a waitress position here, but she passed. She said the girls were very bitchy and mean to her....so that's their real faces just so you know.  But I am a girl and so is my friend.  If you are a guy, you would probably get treated better.

I just wished I would have gone to some other place to have a better lunch.

Was in Florida for 2 months training for a job and Hooters was a frequent stop for my friend and me. Unlike a lot of folks I actually dig the food, especially the wings.

I've gone to Hooters in SF, San Diego, and Dublin, the girls at the Clearwater location were better looking and nicer than the other locations. I've gone to the Hotel in Vegas too but that doesn't count cause well...it's Vegas and everything "looks" better in Vegas right?

The Grouper sandwich at this place was pretty tasty. Battered and fried fish served on a seasame seeded kaiser roll. Can't really go wrong with that right?

I was pretty hungry after flying into town and getting lost on the way to the beach.  I wanted something familiar, so we stopped into Hooters.

It's the original Hooter's, nothing really makes it any different than the hundreds of other Hooter's restaurants out there, except that their uniforms and menus say "Original" on them.

We bellied up to the bar to watch some baseball and have some drinks with dinner.  They had a pretty good special on Wednesday called the "Wingsday Special" 10 boneless wings and fries for $5.99, not a bad deal with $2 draft Budweiser, all day every day.  The food was good.

I started with their $4 special margarita, it wasn't anything special.  There was probably more alcohol in the beer.

Also, I wouldn't recommend sitting at the bar.  You can see right into the kitchen and it was pretty sloppy back there.  There was a bunch of walked on food all over the floor.  I've worked in restaurants and realize that they get dirty, especially the floor, but if the customers can see into the kitchen, you should probably try a little better to keep it clean.

The bartender was funny.  She was probably 37-41 years old and still had a smoking body, but was otherwise a little beat up and weathered.  She has obviously been working there since she was 22 and just never moved on.  Not hot enough to be a waitress anymore, they moved her to the bar.  She was Queen Bitch to the servers, doling out mean insults to any waitress than walked by.

I'm adding this to my list of reviews only because I've been here and yes, this is the original Hooters.  Big effing deal.  The tables ares still dingy and greasy, the wings are still steroid induced and veiny.  I generally stick to the grilled cheese and the curly fries when I come here and that was good, as usual.

As a chic saying this, the girls are little prettier than Connecticut, but I guess that's to be expected considering where I am.

So, one star for being the original, and one more for the grilled cheesy goodness.

Holy cow! No one's reviewed the ORIGINAL Hooters location?  i have been graced with being the first?? Wow.
So where to begin? THis place has so much history and local gossip that I'm not sure is appropriate to share......

In any case, its a 2 story looking beach shanty on your right off 60 as you head towards CLW beach.  The food is like any other Hooters - oily breaded wings which I'm not a huge fan of.  Their clam chowder is ok.  Their curly fries are pretty good.  Service is friendly and pretty laid back adding to that super beachy floridian appeal. Typical local joke is that the girls working are the original hooters girls too (its not).  Definitely worth a stop just to say youv'e been there - but i've never been huge fan of their food so I can't really give them high marks.
