I went up to Newport to visit some good friends and we decided to have lunch here.

Our waitress was so nice, one of the bartenders sent our table a free round of shots, it was within walking distance of my friends house and to top it off my burger and fries were superb. The fries had some sort of seasoning on them that was to die for.

All in all, I really enjoyed JerZee's and I'm sure I'll be back again with my Newport/Cincy friends.

We walking down the street after a Yelp event at the Falcon Theater on a weeknight, and heard an amazingly diverse mix of jams and started to investigate. Our ears took us to JerZee's.

Unfortunately, the rad tunes were for a private party in the back, so we didn't get to check it out. But, we bought a round and found a seat. Some great people watching and decent selection on tap for a neighborhood bar. It was a bit loud for the number of people in the place, but we were still able to enjoy our conversation.

It is in The Commonwealth, so be prepared for some smoking.

A group of my friends went here Saturday night. I didn't know what to expect from a bar on Monmouth street. I was pleasantly surprised. The interior of the bar was clean & welcoming & the enclosed patio was great!

The group I was with consisted of about 15 people. All of us ordered drinks as well as food. The drinks were great & the food arrived at our table at almost lightning speed!

    Definitely a gem.

Stiff drinks and a nice patio is about all you need to know about this bar, its smoky, and reasonably priced, on thursday's they have tropical themed artists, the last time there was a steel drum player who was pretty good, and gave a great atmosphere to the place. come for the patio, stay for the drinks, leave for the smoke, or stay longer, whatever you feel like. ...

Great place for a drink with friends & to listen to a band. Don't bother with the cheese fries, they suck!

Not exactly my kind of bar, but there was nothing really wrong with it. This seems to be your typical sports type bar.

I felt pretty guilty as a group of my friends came in with pizza we got somewhere else. Had I not been in a large group I probably would have finished my pizza out front before entering. We were greeted with some discomforting glares, but nobody really said anything and we were left alone.

We found a nice sized open table at the back and a server came to our table not long after we had sat down. I was going to order a single beer, but she informed me that there was a sale on buckets. It was both a good deal and feeling bad about the aforementioned situation I felt it would behoove all of us to order more than a single drink before ditching.

I'm not in Kentucky often and I don't like how smokey the bars are, I don't know that I'll be back.

Ken invited me to Dive bar of the month club, being an avid dive bar fan I had to show up.

When you walk in the door the place smells like my grandads ashtray. At least this time i remembered i was going to KY so i wore the clothes i use to work on the car.

The happy hour menu was nice, half price appetizers and $10 buckets of beer. Not a good alcohol special, but half price appetizers are nice. The group ordered nacho's, mozzarella stick, and jalapeno poppers. All of which were your standard bar fare. Ken got a grilled cheese, most of the group got a burger, they do have mini burgers 2 for $4. I wish they had a variety of different toppings, that would of been fun to order a a variety pack of burgers.

Parking is on the street, there was a lot next to it, but i never trust those places. All in the all the bar seemed like a normal sports bar, nothing on super sale, nothing out of the ordinary. I really wouldn't consider this a dive bar though.

Before seeing the show 39 Steps at the Falcon/Monmouth Theatre http://www.yelp.com/biz/… our group decided to preparty and grab a few drinks at JerZee's. The first thing that hits you is a wave of cigarette smoke and some pretty wicked stares by the regulars.

Ordering drinks at the long bar was easy and fast. The prices are pretty good and the beer bucket special is nice. The tables in the back are long and good for big groups. We had at least 10 people so this place worked well. As we left, we all commented about how bad we smelled of smoke. I know it's Kentucky, and I've commented negatively about this aspect in a number of my reviews recently, but eventually smoking has got to be an outside only activity, especially where food is served. Having that smell baked into one's winter coat is not cool. (I don't know how people afford smoking these days anyways, prices seem pretty high)

Oh well, fortunately I do not ever need to return, and since there were plenty of happy people inside, this place will carry on without this non smoker and be just fine.

*Cathy R. mentions a patio, I assume this would lessen the smoke problems and might appease people like me. Cool!

I can only say wow! What a neat, secluded place that exists beyond this low-key Monmouth St. entrance. Not that there's anything wrong with the exterior. It's neat and attractive when we often view it from our fairly regular weekend breakfast destination across the street at the Pepper Pod.

Even though the sign outdoors mentions a patio, I had no particular expectations. However, as you pass through the indoor bar/restaurant area, you reach a two-part outdoor area, one covered and the other open, but with umbrellas. A very tropical. tiki-type sports bar atmosphere. Creative, beach-inspired signs decorate this area. We enjoyed a few sandwiches and beers while watching some college football in the tiki bar area. The service was excellent.

Very nice atmosphere and much closer drive for us than Pirates Cove! We'll be back!

Went there last night with a friend to grab a quick bite to eat. The cheese fries were to die for, I am already planning my next trip back just to have the cheese fries! My friend and I both ordered chicken tenders (serving was huge) and the price was great! Next time we will only order one serving of chicken tenders and share them. Drinks were very cheap too. The only reason they didnt get 5 stars is because our server was very busy chatting up a handsome guy at the bar and kind of ignored us when we were trying to pay our check and leave. I actually got up from our table and walked over to her to ask if we could please pay our check. Will definitely come back though and check out the patio next time!

Jerzee's is a straight-forward sports bar. Lots of TVs, lots of noise, and buckets of beer. I was there on a Monday so there was not much of a crowd. The bartender was friendly, helpful, and on the ball. I had a burger and chili fries. Both were good and the manager (owner?) commented the burgers are from a local butcher. With two bourbons on the rocks, my bill was only 15 bucks. Very reasonable.

Had a Business lunch today at Jerzee's Pub & Grub. Street parking was easy. Our Server was prompt and Cheerful She answered all of my Stupid questions with a smile. Our order was delivered in a reasonable amount of time.Potato soup was Hot and Tasty. Grilled cheese was Grilled and cheesy! Drink refills were plentiful and the bill reasonable. I'll be back!

Okay, I still stand by the bulk of my former review, yet I'm giving Jerzees an extra star for their outstanding mini-cheeseburgers. These little treats are so special they're not even on the menu. For $5, you get six little "slider" type burger except these are far, far superior to White Castle's classic. Order it with or without cheese and choose your toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. What an unbelievable deal!! If you ever drop into this little Monmouth street dive, you can't leave without trying the mini-burgers.
