Only leaving 4 stars because the lady that took my order didn't even know what a Corona was. I had to get up and point it out. Food was AMAZING!!! I'm from NY and this is the best Chinese in Cincy! Get the chicken lo mein... Phenomenal. I'll be back

Authentic Chinese food with reasonable price. I especially like their soups.

My experience was better than some and worse than others. Unlike other recent reviewers, I didn't find any bugs in my food, so that's a plus.

The house special deep fried noodles were great, the noodles were crispy and chewy and the shrimp, pork, and chicken in the broth was very tasty.

The hunan chicken was just okay. The crab rangoon was a complete waste of time - 4 tiny pieces with small amounts of bland filling. The spring rolls were good but overly greasy.

There has to be a good Chinese place around here somewhere, right? With all the Thai and Indian choices, why does Cincinnati seem to be hurting for quality Chinese options??

This place has got the worse dim sum ever. The only dim sum that did not equal to trash was the chicken feet. The ha gow's shrimp was hard with not much taste. That shrimp tasted like they dug it up from the ice ages and cooked it. The flat noodles tasted acceptable. Other than that... the food did not deserve to go through my digestive system.

Pretty lame. We were in the neighborhood and hadn't been to King Wok in years. The egg roll was just on the verge of burned, and hubby had to ask twice for hot mustard, which took about 15 minutes to finally make it to the table. Crab rangoon was 4 tiny pieces with probably less than a teaspoon of filling. Total ripoff. The kung po chicken was decent, and the lettuce wraps were good. Service was slow and perfunctory. I think it'll be another few years before we go back.

Eek! Methinks not! I used to order delivery from King Wok all the time. Unfortunately I will never do so again. About one month ago I ordered take out (beef and broccoli and pot stickers) and when I finely got my delivery I opened up my bag of smell good with anticipation. Then as I emptied my container of rice onto my plate there was a well cook, very plump bug staring me in the face (even though I'm sure he was well dead at this point). I called to let King Wok know but got no resolve, they denied it! I told my self I would never order from there again. Or I thought!
Just tonight on 05/03/2012 after a hard day at work I thought I would give them a try again thinking that it was just a mishap on their part (we all make mistakes, even gross ones!) I ordered the beef, pork and chicken in garlic sauce which smelled awesome when it arrived an hour after I ordered it! I thought to myself "heck yeah this will be awesome!" But alas, I was mistaken;  as I was chowing down on what I thought was some awesome grub I noticed something that looked like a small bean of some sort. To my dismay with closer inspection it was not a small bean at all but what appeared to be a cockroach with stretched out legs and antenna. I threw up! As the great Julia Childs would say " bon appetit."

I really wanted to like this place:(

I've been looking for a good chinese delivery place since I moved to Cincy, and when I saw on the yelp reviews that this place had dim sum, I knew I had to try it.  Dim sum is only served on the weekends, unfortunately, so that left me just ordering my standard chinese delivery meal (you can tell a lot about a place from its fried rice!).

Sadly underwhelming.  The shrimp fried rice...bland.  Crab rangoon...they forgot to include the sauce. The egg drop soup...the crispies were more flavorful.

Most likely I will give their dum sum a try (at least once, to be fair!), but I think ordering off their standard menu is out for me.

Oh, and did I mention that someone added a $1 delivery charge to my order?  Seriously, just scratched out the original total I was given over the phone, then added a $1 "fee." I get you need/want to hustle for tips, but that means work harder, not swindle folks.  If you have a delivery charge then you should state that up-front to customers, not leave them wondering where their money is going.  Had that "delivery charge" not just magically appeared on my reciept, I definitely would have tipped more than I did ($1). It's about much more than the buck, people.

This is a very standard chinese restaurant. The place definitely is on the list of generic Chinese restaurants. There is a "student special" that goes into effect after the lunch hours are over to offer students some discount. The Red Pepper across the street is a higher quality restaurant, but is also more expensive. If you are not a Chinese food connoisseur I would recommend King Wok to save money. Otherwise you are better off going to Red Pepper. I personally choose King Wok to save money.

Sadly, this is the best Chinese food I've had in Cincinnati.

Too saucy, too MSGy, meat dishes tend to be light on meat, heavy on filler, fried stuff is too much batter and generally not crispy.

They're basically selling soy sauce for your fried rice and throwing some extra stuff in it so you don't realize thats what you're buying.

Reasonably inexpensive and they delivery late night, so I'll probably do it again, but hate myself for doing it.

I don't know why everyone hates this place. Sure, it wasn't the best ever and looks all cheap, dingy, and 90s-esque on the inside. But no one's gonna come for the atmosphere, and for the price, the quality was impressive.

I went to King Wok because my friend and I were craving dim sum and didn't want to drive too far from Clifton. I prefer the cart-style dim sum restaurants, but ordering fresh had its benefits. The food was nice and hot, cooked and fried to perfection. We ordered curry chicken turnovers, chicken-mushroom-bamboo buns, pork spareribs, fried minced meat dumplings, stuffed tofu, and shrimp chow fun rolls. For the most part, everything was really good and well-seasoned with lots of flavor. I usually get intense food coma after dim sum due to all the grease, but that didn't happen after I ate here. The only dim sum dish I wouldn't recommend would be the shrimp chow fun rolls (rice noodle wrapped around shrimp). There were probably 4 pieces of shrimp total, and other than being a bit sweet (which it shouldn't be) it was mostly flavorless. Still, with everything else being great, a satisfied stomach, and the total coming to $20, I will definitely be coming again. I'm fairly certain that there is a coupon in the Bearcat Coupon Book for even greater savings. I like that. Yayy!

Crab rangoons were really great, pad thai was just ok. $5 lunch special?!! totally awesome! Ultimately though...

Food Poisoning, ZERO STARS. (....Unfortunately you are forced to give at least one star when reviewing.)

Yes, King wok literally poisoned me and made me ill for two days. I highly recommend you avoid this fate and do not ever eat here, considering the devil is cooking up disease in the kitchen.

Why did I always want to go to King Wok when I lived in Clifton? I never had a good meal there - never!

The food was always bland and processed, like they took no more than five minutes to cook, shove into a container and get it out the door. Bleh. Sitting down for a meal wasn't any better. The place was always disorganized and a little bit grimy - I never felt good sitting there. So why did I keep going?

Ah, I remember now, because it was cheap. Cheap, cheap cheap. And you got a lot of food for that cheap, cheap, cheap price. There is something to be said for that - especially when rocking your first job out of college.

Still, cheapness is no excuse for a lack of goodness. I should have just walked right across the street to Red Pepper, which was a little more expensive but so much better. King Wok, you're king of nothing.

As far as their student special goes, one can't get more food for the price. Yet, with out fail, when ever a group of us goes to dine, at least one will fall ill the next day with symptoms of food poisoning. And while I don't expect it to be too fancy, the place is a little run-down. And the aquarium on the back wall filled with some of the saddest looking fish and most unhealthy looking lobster certainly do not help its cause.

King Wok has awesome lunch specials and even serves dim sum on the weekends.  I eat here for lunch quite often and have never been disappointed.  It's not the best Chinese food in Cincinnati but for the value and service it's a great place to grab a quick meal.

We bought the Hawaii five o which consists of squid, scallop, shrimp, chicken, and beef with assorted vegetables in the chef's special sauce and the cold fish platter which had jelly fish, squid, and shredded duck. I think it would have tasted better with the aroma beef they offered but unfortunately they did not have. I was surprised by the taste of the food in King Wok. King Wok had its own distinct quality that was different from the Chinese restaurants I have tasted in New York. Chinese restaurants eventually seem the same in New York because they all serve similar food without creativity. The Hawaii five o was something new and had everything I wanted in one dish. It had seafood and meat which is hard to get in one dish. The shrimps were large and the seafood did not have a sea taste. The duck and jelly fish was the best of the cold dish platter. It was great to have shredded duck meat since they usually have too much bones and that makes the meat hard to savor. It was great service but I felt like I was being rushed by the waiter because he would take everything away quickly and asked me if I wanted the check constantly. I paid about 30 dollars for 2 large dishes which I had leftovers.

This is my favorite Chinese place in CIncinnati. I eat there or order delivery from them a couple times a month. They have super fast service. You never have to wait long. They have a mix of typical American Chinese dishes and traditional. They have a tank full of fresh fish on display. My favorite items are: moo shu, sweat and sour shrimp, tofu and black bean sauce, pad tai, and crab rangoon. Their lunch specials are a great deal ($5 or $6 an entree) if you want to stop by in between classes at UC.

Was in town on business staying at one of the many hotels in Cinn with poor access to food. My choices were standard burger fare (no, I do that too much anyway), Pizza (I'm from Chicago so out of town pizza is out of the question), and Chinese.

I went with King Wok. Large menu with a lot of selection. Person was very accommodating on the phone, delivery was very fast. Good service overall ...

I ordered a Hawaii 5 "O" and an asked for pork fried rice. I was told, it only comes with fried rice. I said, "I want pork fried rice, cant you just charge me a little more ?", They said, "No, if you want pork fried rice, you will need to order it separately and in addition to the fried rice". I was too tired to argue and agreed to the additional five bucks for the small pork fried rice.

    Food arrived quickly.

Could not tell much difference from the fried rice to the pork fried rice. Was there actually pork in it ?  I may never know ...

Hawaii 5 "O" was a good portion and was good overall. Not great, Good.

The rice (Both of them) were bland and didn't taste very good. I ate them mind you as I was dying of hunger. But, It was mediocre at best. I normally look forward to fried rice as a highlight to the meal. In this case it was a disappointment ...

I would give this place a second chance as the menu is large and I would likely try something else to see how I fare ...  However, if something else were available, Id likely choose to shop around ...
