Highly recommend making a reservation because the wait is ridiculous especially during the weekend. The place is nice! Particularly on the rooftop. If you have to wait be sure to grab a drink by the bar, but beware, it's so congested that you'll be rubbing elbows and often finding yourself weaving in and out in a sea of patrons just to get to the bar. Geez is this a restaurant or a club? Alas we were finally seated after waiting an hour or so. They serve tapas style food here so the dishes are shareable. After hearing many friends rave about this place I just thought it was ok. The lamb served with kous kous was good...the drinks were ok I think I ordered a corpse reviver? Ambiance was lovely I especially love the roof top. The fluorescent neon light Linger sign. The food is just average though...
Pros: There's not much else to say that hasn't already been said: the food and cocktails are innovative (especially for Denver), the quality of food is consistent, and the decor is both visually striking and well-done. Not to mention, they have a great mix of vegan-friendly options and decadent meat concoctions.
Cons: Despite the name, it doesn't really feel like a place to linger. The waitstaff is obviously trained to turn-and-burn tables, so everything comes out super quickly and efficiently, and with people vying for your table (particularly in the bar area), it kindof feels like you should hurry up already and eat, drink and leave. Also, since the plates are really small and the cocktails are around $10 each, your tab can swiftly add up to something surprising.
A date and I went there on a Saturday night expecting either to not get in, or wait longer than an hour to get in. We were originally told the wait was an hour and a half so we put our name in and scoped the bar in hopes to find a seat there (they have a full menu at the bar). We happen to find two seats at the bar that were quite lovely and perfect for a romantic dinner. Fifteen minutes after we put our name in, we were texted that our table was ready, but we were happy with our seats so we stayed where we were. Our server explained many dishes in great detail and was very attentive and personable. The food was fantastic and we definitely plan to go there again.
Review Source:Linger has been on my radar for a while now and tonight was the night to finally see what all the buzz is about. We had tickets to the ballet and wanted to eat here prior which landed us smack in the middle of restaurant week. We were only able to get a reservation if we could dine in an hour. I agreed to the conditions without a second thought.
My husband and I are in a food induced euphoria. From the moment we walked in we knew we were in the hands of a well run operation. Every staff person who helped us was exceedingly nice. Normally I don't mention specific names in a review but I would be remiss to not acknowledge our waitress, Maria. She was AWESOME and guided us through the menu with the delicate ease and pride of someone who believes in the food.
We decided to order off the menu rather than do the set menu for restaurant week. The first dish to be devoured was the salmon ceviche with taro and tortilla chips. The taro chips were crazy good and reminded me of Hawaii. The ceviche had the perfect balance of acid and creamy fish and avocado goodness.
Next up was a pork belly bun and a duck bun. The pork belly was my favorite as I don't love Chinese 5-Spice which was in the duck. The hubs loved the duck so we were both happy.
Our next two courses were the Thai shrimp with green papaya and the chicken b'stilla. Again, the flavors worked well together and paid an excellent homage to their traditional roots. Â The hubs has had b'stilla before (he called it the chicken thing he ate in Hong Kong) and as soon as he took a bite he was taken back in time.
Dessert rounded the experience with a hard to imagine those flavors can compliment each other description. But oh, dear friends in the deft hands of the pastry chef, yes salted butterscotch pudding with sesame crisp and lemongrass cotton candy can be lick the bowl delicious.
Without question, we will be back. Soon.
Linger is without a doubt one of my FAVORITE restaurants in Denver. Â Went there for my birthday this year for the second birthday in a row (and I wanted to hug our server for carding me- especially since it was the 20th anniversary of my 21st birthday!). Â I've probably been there five times now and every time the food is AMAZING. Â A great place to go with friends and try lots of different delicious items. Â The ambiance is awesome and the fact that it used to be a mortuary and they really play that up in the decor is pretty cool!
Review Source:To me, Linger is all about the scene. The food is fine. It's upscale street food. This is a compliment, not a put-down by any means, because some of the best food around is street food. I like how they mix different flavors and in many ways go out on a limb. It's a great place for the summer.
Review Source:We went to Linger last night for the first night of 5280 week and had a great time. Our table tried all the appetizers on the 5280 menu. The chicken bun was ok, we really liked the dahl (more of a soup really) and the beet dish (if you like beets). Our table of 4 got one of each of the entrees. I really liked the salmon and the meat eaters loved loved loved the steak. We weren't impressed with the veggie masala crepe thing. Lots of potatoes and lots of crepe, kind of bland.
The show stopper was the dessert. The peanut butter bar might have been the best thing I've eaten this year. The churros were pretty good too.
Even if you aren't eating off the 5280 menu, this place was more affordable than I expected it to be and the atmosphere is really nice. If only that hideous condo next store hadn't ruined the view.
I LOVE YOU LINGER! Â
The ambiance was so interesting and fun It doesn't feel like a mortuary but it does have subtle reminders of what it was now and again. Â I can't wait to come back in the summer when I can enjoy the rooftop bar. Â
The service there is unbelievable the staff is friendly and attentive.  The popcorn to start your meal is a smart idea and it was delicious.  I like how the food is brought out in courses rather than just all at once.  It give you a chance to appreciate each dish more.  We  had with a big serving of perfectly cooked sweet potato waffle fries with Chipoltle Ketchup.  Next we had Devils on Horseback and they were crazy good.    Last but not least we had the Short ribs...heaven!  The Short ribs came with fried Brussels sprouts, plantains, Chimichurri and pickled onions.  Everything on the plate was perfectly cooked and tasted great together.  Â
I am only sorry I could not have eaten more. Â I was so full that I couldn't order desert but the waiter brought us a couple of homemade salted caramels that were to die for. Â What a nice touch! Â
I can't wait to go back. Â I would like to have a larger group than just my husband and I. It would be fun to try more of the menu.
When trying to decide where to go for Valentine's Day, which we had to celebrate the day before, I thought of the one restaurant I hadn't been to yet that I was sure to love. Root Down is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver, so naturally I'd have to love Linger.
We arrived early for the reservation and were put in a weirdly small, awkward booth without hesitation. I would have rather waited for 30 mins, if we were offered a better seat. My boyfriend is 6'3" and this booth was more fitted for either a single person, or two people in their teens.
Our server was questionable, not rude by any means. But the service I generally receive at Root Down is above and beyond. This person seemed in a rush, and did not even attempt to make our dining experience special. I would just think particularly the day before Valentine's Day that you would want to make that experience a good one.
She waited for an overly long time to take our order. I'm not sure she smiled a single time. And as a person who has been in customer service for years, this was lacking in many ways.
The food was okay, but did not make up for the experience and lack of enthusiasm from the waitstaff.
I won't be returning.
Loved the happy hour drinks and food here. Â Order the "New Saigon" drink which is made from Gin and it was amazing! Â Had a bit of everything when it came to the food, my favorite were the sweet potato fries and sliders. Â Can't wait till the rooftop opens this summer :) Â Go for drinks and happy hour guys, it's awesome.
Review Source:I work near Linger, and so since they've opened I've been excited to try them because of all the hype! I finally did about a month ago.
Overall, I liked Linger. I didn't LOVE it. I'm not a super-foodie, but I love trying new things. The atmosphere at Linger is incredible... overlooking downtown (although a new apartment complex has obscured part of that view) make for some pretty awesome scenery.
The food was pretty good... and very unique. However, I just don't feel like a lot of it worked. It seemed more interested in surprising you with strange flavor combos or unique takes on classics. But for all the uniqueness, I just didn't feel satisfied at the end of the meal. There is nothing wrong with trying new things, but dining is about leaving the meal satisfied at the end. For the price you pay (which is high, but you come expecting that), I think that they need to work on making their food both unique but also fulfilling.
Side note: the customer review card I was given had no "poor" category on it... come on Linger, that's way too pretentious. You are good, but don't assume no one wants to give you a bad review! Haha
I have eaten here twice now and I just don't know why every one thinks the food is so outstanding. We have all was gone with four other couples so we all get something different and try all the plates and I have had nothing that I feel is just outstanding. They try to offer a little bit of everything and don't do anything that is fabulous.
Review Source:I finally got around to trying this restaurant. Â I didn't have any trouble getting a reservation for a Wednesday evening after work. Â I've heard getting reservations are pretty tricky though, so maybe I just got lucky. Â I didn't have trouble finding parking since there is valet parking available, and also a parking lot (not free) close by.
I was kind of disappointed by the atmosphere. Â I guess I was expecting something a little more "creepy" since the building used to be a mortuary, but the ambiance was still pretty cool with the toe tags, clipboards and formaldehyde bottles.
The menu had a ton of gluten free options! Â I was also very pleased to find out they also a dedicated fryer for gluten free sweet potato french fries (and other GF fried dishes) - something that doesn't seem to be very common. Â The menu also has a ton of vegan options. Â They have a decent wine selection as well.
Wanted to see what all the hype was all about. Â We decided to check this place out for brunch Sunday morning. Â Arrived right at 10 and there was already a line to get in. Â The line moved quickly and they were able to get us seated right away without a reservation.
Staff was friendly and food was really good!! They have $3 cocktails which was a plus and they were pretty strong which was another plus :)
If you can, check out the view on the rooftop, closed on Sunday, but if you ask they will let you check it out! Â Great view of Denver!
Wish I remember exactly what the FourSquare "tip" read: something along the lines of "come here before the new condo blocks the views of downtown. bastards!". Â Well, condo is up. Â Views (mostly) blocked, but the lessened views don't change the fact that this place has it goin' on.
The atmosphere is stellar. Â Feels a bit like a W Hotel, but more comfortable and "Sit Down and Stay a While". Â Notice the super sweet water growlers that once were possibly full of formaldehyde (embalming fluid). Â Legit service.
We were there at lunch and the menu was great. Â We had several items all of which were perfect. Â So many flavors happening on one menu -- it's almost like you can take a trip around the world in one meal.
Make sure to walk up to the bar. Â Incredible atmosphere. Â I could park it here and drink for hours.
As HARD as it is to get a reservation for dinner, my two girlfriends and I were able to have lunch at Linger on Wednesday. I have been wanting to eat there because i am always hearing so many good things about it, and because the menu seemed fresh and unique on the web site.
We immediately liked the decor, which is modern and hip, yet not ostentatious. Its cool that they take into account the building's former use as a mortuary when designing the interior, and use that theme in a fun way through out the restaurant. That is a daring move and is pulled off really well, making the place not just cool but classy and very unique. That can be hard to find in dining establishments these days.
Service was great! The hostess was very welcoming and friendly, and the whole staff seemed to work together as a team. My friends from out of town have been accused  of being some what high maintenance, and even though our server Tommy was also taking care of a large party of people, he some how managed to stay very attentive to there requests, very impressive!
The meal we had was extremely enjoyable, from start to finish just as friends and co workers said it would be. The menu proved as tasty and interesting to the palate as we had hoped.I loved the sliders, but the three of us can't wait to go back and try more items.
Altogether, this is really a place deserving of it's high praises. In every aspect it was impressively well done and on top of everything we found linger has a fun and down-to-earth atmosphere so close to home.
Amazing, incredible, and unbelievable. Service was absolutely phenomenal. Eric was our server and he could not have been more attentive. They don't hide the fact that they're located in a former mortuary. In fact, they celebrate it!
My mouth still waters when I remember the meal I had here. Everything they create here, from their cocktails to their food, has a twist, which made it even that much more delicious.
I can't wait to go back here. I've heard about it for so long and it was so nice to finally get here. It more than lived up to all the hype.
I have been wanting to try Linger for a while now and it just so happened that my friend had planned her birthday dinner here. Our reservations were for 5:30 and it was packed when we got there. Â Ambieance is nice, i felt it was a little too dimly lit, but considering what the palce used to be, I thought maybe that was a theme. Â I loved the big window that overlooks downtown and would love to come back here in the sumer and sit on the patio.
Now onto the fun stuff. Â Service was excellent! Â Our waiter was awesome and extremely attentive all night. Â When it came tiem to order, he gave us the option to either have us pick stuff or let him pick some of the more popular items and just go with it. Â We opted for the latter and we were not disappointed. Â We had the Devils on Horseback, Duck Buns, Pork Belly Buns, Ginger Chili Shrimp (which was realy good, & I don't even like shrimp), Seared Diver Scallops, the 36 Hour Short Ribs and the Chicken B'stilla. Â There is no way that I could do any of the yummy goddness justice. Â Needless to say we left full and happy.
I have been raving about my experience here to just about anyone that will listen to me. Â I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items. Â I am sure I won't be disappointed!
Our server, Rupert was THE MAN and the "devil inside" cocktail was so good, they should offer it by the pitcher. Â We sampled a variety of small plates and highly recommend the falafels and duck buns. Â The design, decor and overall aesthetic is really well done. Â Can't wait to go back.
Review Source:Our experience was incredibly disappointing.
We had a great time because the ambiance was pretty awesome and good thing we were already half drunk when we got there.
The most impressive part of the evening was the hot host who arranged a three top for our two top reservation before we could even finish paying for our drink from the rude bartender.
The menu SEEMED awesome. Creative entrees with appetizing descriptions - too bad the actual food didn't live up to the hype.
Peanut butter and camel popcorn was decent but taken away from the table before we were done, in fact, while we were still actively enjoying.
Serious problem with execution of the food - we had the chile shrimp -- totally bland and unmemorable. Something was seriously wrong with the cheese in the paneer - had been baked or fried into hard little cubes before served in a sauce that I thought was decent, but too spicy for my friend. When the manager stopped by to ask how our meal was and I mentioned this to her - rather than offer to replace our 9 dollar entree, she simply recommended another unimpressive dish (the falafeel, although I liked the tahini dipping sauce).
Lastly, although the restaurant was open until 1, we were totally rushed out of our 9 pm seating. The waiter hovered and brought us the check although we did not ask for it and actually wanted to order more food and drinks. As we still hungrily existed the restaurant, we jealously  looked at the other patrons who were allowed to order more food and LINGER at the restaurant potentially up until it closed in 2.5 hours.
I love Linger! Â Happy hour is the only times I go, but the Duck buns are super yummy and I absolutely love the decor. Â I make a strong opinion on atmosphere of a restaurant and this one has a great atmosphere. Â Works great with a group of friends or just your husband! Â I found the bartenders really nice and all the waitstaff is helpful. Â Easily one of my fav's in Denver.
Review Source:4.7
You know when you are in a consciously designed restaurant, the owners of which care as much about the restaurant-goer's experience of a space as the food. As I told my dining companion, who had just accompanied me to a museum exhibit at the MCA before we dined at Linger, I value the experience of architecture and a dining environment often more deeply than a museum, because a restaurant is lived in, experienced, and it calls on all of the senses. You can't touch most art exhibits and you need a piece of paper to help you enter the conversation that an artwork is centered in; however, you do not need paper to help you to understand the concept of a restaurant like Linger. Each detail of the restaurant: the breathtaking view, the weighted forks, the cocktail glasses, the Light-Brite countertops, the mortuary menu tags, work together to create a modern take on an old space.
I recommend sitting in the bar upstairs, which offers a breathtaking, urban view of the city's most interesting area, in my view. Although the bartenders get so slammed that they really can't interact as much with their customers, you get a birds-eye view of the artistry that goes into the construction of Linger's cocktails. As for cocktails, I recommend the New Saigon. The gin and jalapeno balance each other's flavors well, and the jalapeno adds a nice heat at the end of each sip. My companion's Aviator, not on the menu, is the best one he and I have had, and he is a bartender. The creme de violette in this cocktail is of the highest order.
The bartender, before he got slammed, recommended a new addition to the menu, 36-hour braised shortribs that are still served medium rare. These were out of control. Our only complaint is that the chimichurri's intensity and acid in this case detracted from the flavor of the meat, instead of adding to it; we quickly abandoned it and ate the meat on its own. The fried brussel sprout plantains were amazing.
We ordered the duck buns, and they are good. But you are really eating buns and acidic sauce, and the meat hardly mattered. I wouldn't order these again if I were craving duck flavor, which was hidden in this dish.
Lastly, we ordered the beet salad, an explosion of flavor. We kept moving between the yellow and red beets, contemplating which one was best. The acid level here was perfect and illustrates the importance of this component in a dish. The cilantro yogurt was also outstanding, although we ate it separately and rarely combined it with the beets. The throw-away item on the plate, for me, was the garbanzo mash. It seemed unnecessary and has too much particular flavor to work as the palate cleanser it appeared to be provided to be. Still, an A dish.
At the end, we were offered an "amuse," in this case, a salted caramel that was sublime. I was excited that the server knew his clientele well-enough that he did not explain the concept of the "amuse-bouche," and instead had paid attention to his diners.
Oh, and if you are so inclined, try the sangria; it is divine, and elegantly served.
Back again last night. Oh this is by far, my favorite place in Denver. Had the duck buns again, along with the all famous Sliders. Still as good as I remember them.
The we had the tamale, which was creamy and surprising. Along with that the deconstructed poppers, which should be skipped.
Champagne and flat water to top it all off.
I love small plates. I live Linger. Always accommodating. Always good.
I don't think the reviews of Linger are overhyped. Â We had a table of six and we ordered two plates each, but tasted each other's food. Â Let me tell you what, it is all as delicious as it gets. Â The tacos and the scallops were amazing. Â I had the pad thai and it was the most flavorful I have tasted. Â It was all so amazing.
It was worth the wait to get in and also worth missing dinner at Root Down. Â Linger is my new favorite because of their eclectic and wider choices on their menu.
I ordered two plates, I could have been content with 1-1.5. Â It's about tasting and not getting stuffed.
SO glad I finally made it here! Â Busy, busy place... for good reason. Â Drinks are strong and delicious, food is fabulous, and even without the amazing view of the city (thanks a lot, apt/condo building) the atmosphere is pleasantly abuzz with activity. Â
I honestly thought I'd be creeped out to eat in a place that formerly assisted the Reaper, but they've done a wonderful job of making the place feel warm and set the mood for a night out with friends or a date night full of delicious food. Â The pork and duck buns are delicious, the deconstriced jalapeno poppers are quite tasty (who doesn't love cheese curds? Â I mean really?), and the waffle cut sweet potato fries are some of the best I've had.
Can't wait to return!
Somewhere my vegan, foodie girlfriend and I both loved, which can be a challenge. I am seeking burger connoisseurship and loved the sliders here -- serious meat done right, the best sliders I've had. The ambiance was great, server cool, and although I was going to skip a drink (due to a potential long night and driving) their list intrigued me.
I'm excited to go back during the summer for what must be a most spectacular view...
This may be my favorite restaurant in Denver. Â The food is great. Â You can read all the reviews about the food. Â The drinks, beer, and wine are amazing. Â
What impressed me most was the space. Â The design of the restaurant was unique and interesting. Â I found myself wanting to just go around and look how they adapted the space from its previous life...and death. Â I want to go back in the summer when I can enjoy the view.
Just the tip - it is hard to get reservations, but they have a large bar area with full menu which seems to have good seating options...especially early.
I knew I was going to love Linger and I was so right. I was lucky enough to eat a delicious Christmas lunch here with my great friend. We both knew we wanted to go here, as we had been waiting forever to try it. I can see why it is so darn popular - amazingly cool space with terrific views of downtown, eclectic menu with wonderful flavors, and an extensive drink menu (even a kids menu). Score!
Everything on the menu sounded good and we had trouble picking one or two items to try. We shared the carrot and lentil falafel - delicious, fresh made falafel nuggets served on butter lettuce with a delicious lemon tahini yogurt sauce. Wow! We then tried the chicken b'stilla, which was presented almost like Vietnamese egg rolls, with lettuce for wrapping, and preserved lemon yogurt and spicy harissa. Delicious!!! The flavors were spot on, just turned up a notch. Dessert was a trio, which included a unique butterscotch pudding with passion fruit sauce and lemongrass cotton candy. So many flavors.... so many other dishes to try next time.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable, but a bit slow. It was nice for us as we were relaxing and exchanging presents. I want to come back with a group and order everything on the menu!
I came here for lunch with my parents a couple of weeks ago and have been raving to friends and family ever since. Linger is such a cool place to grab some food I just don't know how you could not love it. From the decor which is funky and open to the food which is a taste adventure you just can't go wrong.
We decided to do several small plates to share so we could try a little of everything. The food was outstanding and our server did a great job of recommending dishes for us to try. From beginning to end there was not one thing that I didn't love to eat.
Now I do hear this place gets rather busy at dinner but since we came for lunch we had no issues getting in and Lingering for a while... Oh and if you go be sure to save room for dessert. So amazing!
Now let me start off by saying I would have added another half start but you can't do half stars on yelp.
Now here is a big tip: Go during the week for lunch not dinner. The reason i say this is because I've seen a lot of reviews on here about the people there, how busy it is, and the lines. We didn't have any of those problems at lunch. There were three other seated tables in addition to our table. The waiter was very nice and knowledgable.
One big issue: On Yelp the price's or dollar signs are based plates. So this place has two $$. This place should $$$$. The dollar sign are based by plate, so this is a small plate restaurant. For two people you're going to need 4 or 5 plates, maybe more and the drinks are expensive so the $$ is very misleading.
Our food was delicious, but I think with all the build up and hype I was inevitably let down but I don't necessarily think that's Lingers fault. We loved the spring role plate and the spare rib plate. The street tacos were alright but the ceviche is not good. Quick tip: Don't get ceviche in Denver, we're land locked, we don't get good seafood here very often, especially good enough product for ceviche.
All in all I would say go but people are right, its overhyped.
Now when you visit a bigger city and envision a trendy restaurant, you picture Linger. What is ironic is that the food comes so quickly they don't allow you to "linger' long, they are turning tables in here like nobody's business.
It was the quickest tapas service I've ever seen. We ordered the ceviche; fresh, decent portion, not the best for sharing probably. Not the best I've ever had but tastey. Also, we shared the scallops dish. Again, not great for sharing at $22 with 3 scallops. It was beautifully arranged though.
I wish we had ordered more, but we were in a rush. It's located in the low-high district. Beautiful restaurant!!!
If I had ordered this for myself, it would have been perfect, but pricey.
This is a restaurant I can return to again and again! Â Linger has got the right stuff: Â great food; awesome cocktails; and an enchanting ambiance. Â I can't think of a single thing I didn't enjoy.
Of course, there will be a wait on the weekends but it's well worth it. Â I'd suggest stopping in for an early (or late) dinner to avoid some of the crowding.
Service was stellar. Â Had a very helpful waitress who knew the food and cocktail menus to a tee and made great suggestions. Â
Side Note: Â loved the ladies room! Â It was clean, for one, but I was most impressed with the toilet that has a faucet attached for handwashing. Â The water is recycled for the next flush. Â It was very cool!
We had a great time! Â Food was great, drinks were great, vibe was great, and I walked away feeling like it was worth the money. Â Let's get to the awesome food.
Figs + Bacon + Cheese = wrong, so very, very wrong! Â They are rich, so you need to pace yourself in eating them.
BBQ Sliders - These were good, would have liked it a big more saucy but did taste great.
Meat and Cheese plate - Totally the best item, 3 cheeses paired with different accoutrements, pomegranate seeds, chocolate and nuts.
Wagyu sliders were perfect, not overcooked, tasty and just the right size.
Masala Dosa - I like Dosa's, this was a bit on the dry side, but I liked the flavor, others at the table did not like this one.
Drink menu was great as well, I had a great Dunkel, Â but it was a tough choice with
all of the selection. Â
We had about 6 people there, we ordered 2 items per person, and it was a bit much, I would slow roll it next time, but a few at a time. Â We did spend about $300, but everyone was full and happy when we left!
For a while, I thought maybe I just wasn't cool enough to get into this place. Â I don't generally have the foresight to schedule a dinner out months in advance, which is practically what you have to do at Linger to eat at a time that could generously be classified as "dinner time." Â But I know when my anniversary is happening, and so, a month out, we were able to snag 5:30 on a Friday night (because literally the rest of the weekend was booked up already). Â In we went.
Swanky might be the word I'd use to describe the restaurant. Â The ambiance is great, and unlike any other restaurant I've been to. Â It's on multiple levels, it has great views, and everyone who's reading this knows all this already. Â It's definitely cool.
The restaurant is all small plates, and the portion sizes are somewhere between "tapas" and "entree" sizes. Â When we go to a tapas place, we usually end up getting 6-8 things (because we are fat fat fatties). Â Here, 4 plates was more than enough to fill us up. Â We had the sliders, chili paneer, chicken b'stilla, and the meze plate. Â It's cool to be able to sample so many types of cuisine in one place, and everything was uniformly great. Â The sliders were cooked perfectly, the fries that came with them were crispy and delicious. Â The chili paneer had great flavor. Â All three dips on the meze plate were excellent. Â The chicken b'stilla might have been the best thing we had, with a delicious cinnamony middle eastern flavor profile.
We had several specialty cocktails as well, which were good, not great. Â They sure do have a lot of fun glasses here though.
Service was attentive. Â We never ran out of water, and the food came out at a nice pace - fast enough that we didn't have to wait foodless, but not so much that we were rushed. Â And it was really reasonably priced! Â We were stuffed when we left, and if we hadn't been drinking, we'd have been right around $40. Â Totally reasonable for this quality of food in such a unique environment. Â We will absolutely be back, the next time I can think 60 days in advance to book a friggin reservation.
This place is fantastic!
We went here for my younger brother's 18th birthday because we wanted to do something special and this place definitely did just that. We ordered everything family style because we wanted to try a variety of different things. The only problem was: there were five of us and a lot of the menu items come in groups of four or three. Definitely ask your server how many items come on a plate, because they're totally willing to add another item in order to fit the number of people in your party.
Here are the things we sampled:
Sesame BBQ Tacos - Very tasty. My mom's favorite.
Wagyu Burger Sliders with Sweet Potato Fries - My dad's favorite. He kept talking passionately about how this "changed the way he viewed burgers." Personally, I didn't feel the same way. It just tasted like a normal burger to me. The other people I was with agreed with me. The sweet potato fries were really good though.
Mongolian BBQ Duck Buns - These were super good. I was a huge fan. I would definitely order these again.
Ginger Chili Shrimp - This was surprisingly good. My brother's favorite. I expected them to be pretty plain in comparison to everything else, but I was pleasantly surprised with just how flavorful they are.
Masala Dosa - This thing was huge and very flavorful. I loved the sauces.
Chicken B'Stilla - This was one of my favorite items. SO GOOD. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I loved it! I would definitely order this again!
Devils on Horseback (Bacon wrapped dates and goat cheese) - This was the highlight of the meal. We almost didn't order it, but at the last minute decided to throw it in there. Oh my god. They were so good. Everyone's favorite. I would DEFINITELY recommend this. If you get anything, get this. So unique. Definitely an experience.
I've heard so many great things about Linger that I finally made the trek up north to give it a try. Â I didn't know this was the Olinger Mortuary and I wasn't sure how I felt about the industrial decor mixed with old seventies flamboyance. Â The place was packed though and there are some great views from the upper level bar despite the fact that they keep building high rises that are blocking the view. Â
So Linger has a street food concept that celebrates a lot of the asian and latin street foods of the world. Â We had the chile ginger shrimp, the sesame bbq tacos, the chicken bun with kim chi and the devils on horseback. Â I've always liked each of these items separately and it reminds me of an Americanized fancy dim sum menu. Â All of the items were very good and would love to go back to try them. Â For street food, its a little on the pricey side, but all in all, great food and great concept.
