Fantastic little laid-back bar and kitchen. It's a problem that every time I go there, I always get the poutine. I'd like to try something else, but I really just can't get past that delish dish. I like coming here if I'm not feeling a loud bar scene, this place is just total chill. Our bartender that night, Jeremy, did a great job at staying attentive but not being overly in-your-face.

Little Palace does attract a wide array of people; I was sort of put off by the dude a few bar stools down who was drinking solo and barley able to keep his eyelids propped open. But the hip little booths and dimly lit intimate bar balance all that out. I'll be back, with as many people as I can.

A cute little restaurant that has a divey feel but is immaculately clean inside.  I keep going back because of the incredibly good (bar) food and the perfectly priced and delicious cocktails.  After I stopped eating at Chick-Fil-A, I have quenched my cheesy, fried chicken slider thirst over here.  These are better than those fast food sliders.  Additionally, the pizzas and strombolis are divine.  The sandwiches are pretty tasty and the brussel sprouts deserve a special mention. Lastly, what a great selection of cocktails!  My favorite is Little Palace's version of the Moscow Mule.

I have been to Little Palace several times for drinks, but this was my first dinner experience since the renovation. I am very impressed with this little corner of downtown. I love that it keeps on building and bringing a little life to what was a rather desolate block after 8pm. Little Palace seized a great opportunity to improve itself after Dirty Frank came in and I really think the overall renovation to the space was done well. It is cool, but laid back enough that it doesn't feel forced. The staff is friendly, but often difficult to distinguish from the patrons and seem to have too many tables to be entirely reliable.

I was the only person at the table that didn't get an "Italian" dish and seemed to enjoy my meal the most. I initially had concerns over whether I could find something that wouldn't blow up my calorie count, but settled on the roasted vegetables with goat cheese and added the salmon. Very nice.

My veggie loving dinner companion received a pork filled stromboni at first and we had all finished our meals (at her insistence) before she got the correct order. The mortadella submarine was reported to be lackluster and  the lasagna, just plan bad.

Solid beer selection, prices were reasonable and we didn't have to wait too long (about 15 minutes) for a table at 7pm on a Saturday night. I would definitely be willing to go back.

2 things here, when I think of Little Palace all I can say is A-OK, and the fact that Dirty Franks is right next door, that wins me over first before ever going to Little Palace.

Why I think this... Maybe it is just me but I do not find their vegetarian options as much of a delight to pick from. The ones I have tried were okay, there was nothing wrong with them besides the fact they really did not have much flavor. The sauce was a little extra runny the past couple times I have been there. Almost like they were running out, so lets just add a lot of water to fix that issue. Not good.

While its okay, I tolerate it because this is my best friends favorite place to eat, but it makes sense because he is very meat and potatoes kind of guy.

Those little chicken sliders! Crispy and perfectly fried, melted Swiss and pickles.

Poutine-local cheese curds on fries with tender beef. I don't even like gravy and I luv, luv LUV! You can't go wrong with a burger (ala club 185). Hubby is a fan of the Brussel sprouts, sorry not for me.

I love the atmosphere, great character to the building. Good beer selection too!

P.S. pennies are banned there, so check is rounded up or down to nearest nickel. Maybe they'll start a movement.

I really enjoy Little Palace and it's a great go-to location on a Friday or Saturday night when we haven't planned ahead. The food is always good... I really like the Palace burgers but their gyros are also pretty tasty.

While you are here, do yourself a favor and get the poutine. Now, it's not going to be as good as you can get in Ontario Cottage Country, but you're not going to find many places that serve poutine in Central Ohio. For those not in the know, poutine is an amazing dish composed of fries, brown gravy, and cheese curds. Little Palace does a pretty good job but I prefer my curds melty. On our last visit, we asked the waitress to have the kitchen put it under a broiler before sending it out... they were hesitant but did it anyway. After, our waitress said it looked better that way!

After the burger, gyros, and poutine... drinks are also a hit... they make a mean manhattan, with rye or with bourbon. I imagine the other drinks are pretty good.

I love this little place.  Probably not as busy as their neighbor Dirty Franks, but a lot better I think.  Literally every single item I've ever tried has been better than I expected  It is the best restaurant in the city?  No, but I think it's the best at what it's aiming for.  A creative, diverse menu in a comfortable place.  If you just want a drink and quick meal for a decent price this is the place you should look.  Sometimes the service can be slow and who knows what their system actually is for waiting on tables, but it's worth it.  Kind of a secret, but starting to get better known.

We stopped here for a late lunch based on Yelp reviews.   Loved this place.    We shared appetizers.  Local cheese curds and the French Fries topped with gravy and flank steak.  All ridiculously good, and comforting on a snowy day.

Great beer selection.   We tried a few different types.   Never had Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale before.  I'm a fan now.

The server-slash-bartender was very friendly and made conversation.   Overall nice casual place with relaxed atmosphere.

Great food and drinks. This place is perfect for grabbing food during pre-, mid-, or post-night of drinking in downtown Columbus. Usually a wait, even on week nights, but worth it.

Last time I was here I had the poutine, fried cheese curds, and something else that escapes me at the moment, but everything was delicious. Their drinks are moderately priced and won't break the bank.

    Amazing tasty little sandwiches
Fresh unique beer and cocktails in a fun environment that is not as crowded as the next door dirty franks.

The portion size here is very enjoyable, and for the price you really can't beat it. The food is not pretentious, and it is tasty and well rounded. These are not the best burgers that you can find, but there is something that is unique about being able to get several different types of "sliders" for the price of one burger at another joint.

This area of town is slowly finding itself with more and more locally owned joints that are doing well. If you want something to eat, you can't go wrong with this or any of the other restaurants that have popped up along 4th street

Plus they have Poutine, which I mean you can't really go wrong with that.

The food just okay, and the service was slow. Waited about 15 minutes for my beer to come. Another 40 minutes for the pizza to come

Ended up at Little Palace one evening after an aborted attempted to re-visit El Camino Inn. I'd heard good things, but we were a bit skeptical just because it wasn't our first choice. Then, something magical happened. Hubs turned the beer menu around and pointed.

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, on tap. And it was happy hour. Our night had just improved by about 1000x.

We both ordered Little Palace burgers and fries. Pretty small portions, but good burgers--it was really just about the "right" portion of food, unlike Thurman's where you have to roll out after eating just half a burger, so I can't really complain . . . . still, you know fat girls love us some food, so I have to give the obligatory small portion grumble. Just a mild grumble, though, because it really was a tasty burger. And unlike some places that would have tried to charge a premium for the tiny burger, Little Palace had it on the menu for a very reasonable price.

I feel that this kind of dining is one of Columbus's strengths--really good, unpretentious food at affordable prices. I'm glad that Little Palace fits into this way of eating and drinking, because I really enjoy being able to experience different places in Columbus without breaking my entertainment budget for the month.

ugg..their pizza sucks!  hands down...the worst -ever!   Love their happy hour pricing for drafts.  Will return and stick with the sliders.  Just stay away from the watered down pizza.  Someone needs to go back to pizza making school, pronto.  That is all.

Yeah, so I don't think their sign does them any justice. I was totally expecting some old bar with greasy food, but since everyone kept saying how great it was, I figured I would give it a try. Upon entering the establishment I was very surprised to find a very nice looking bar with plenty of seating. The menu was even more of a surprise. Now I'm not one to go out of my way to look for vegetarian options, but I do love veggies and that vegetarian gyro sounded awesome. And it was. Probably one of my top 3 favorite gyros in Columbus. The service was pretty good except they kept bringing me diet coke instead of regular. All in all it was a very nice experience and I would love to go again sometime!

This is a great place to stop for food or just a drink.  The service can get a little slow, but on a crowded weekend night, that's pretty par for the course.  This is also the only place in town I know of that sells poutine!  (And it's delicious.)

For the uninitiated:  Poutine is a French Canadian dish in which french fries are covered with brown gravy and fresh cheese curds.  Yes, it's probably even worse for you than it sounds.

Four, no, FIVE stars all the way for Little Palace. I love the retro 60's theme, makes me want to drink Manhattans. They have a cigarette machine, I love it when places AREN'T kid friendly and Little Palace is not kid friendly. You need to bring your grown self here without the kiddos, cause we're gonna drink and talk about grown up stuff.

I could eat a million of their tiny sandwiches. The mini meatball and the chicken sandwiches are delectable, mouth watering, goodness. Speaking of goodness, try the freaking Brussels sprouts. I was never a fan until I tried the ones they serve at Little Palace, now I can't get enough.

I would guess most folks wind up here because Dirty Franks is too damn busy. Just skip it and go to Little Palace instead. The food and atmosphere are both top notch for a casual night out downtown. One of my all time favorite places in Columbus.

OK, so I admit I've avoided this place for a while due to mixed reviews and well, it just didn't interest me.  But HE wanted to try it last night, and it was on the list of restaurants participating in FoodFight2012.  We came in and sat down.  Our waitress was...  well, she was polite.  But not terribly enthusiastic, I will say.  I'm not asking for bouncy happy perky people, I'm just looking for a smile.  Maybe she was having a bad day.
That being said, we ordered the poutine, I had a gyro, and he had the sorpressata pizza.  Gyro was a-ok.  Poutine was tasty.  And the pizza totally surprised us.  I was not expecting good pizza.  It was good pizza.  Chewy edges, super thin middle, very yummy sorpressata, not swimming in cheese...  I mean really, very good.  :-)  When we come back (which we probably wouldn't have if it weren't for the pizza) we will BOTH get pizza.

I came here tonight because I had a Faveroo.  Well, that's not the only reason because I'd been here twice before.

I started off with the calamari.  It was tender and the sauce they served with it, I could have taken some of it home to bathe in it.  It was REALLY good.  For my main course I ordered their Italian sub.  This was served on a roll that had been pressed on the grill and this really makes a difference.  It had several types of meat on it and lots of other stuff.  It was probably the best sub I've had.  And to round things off I got an order of mac & cheese  which was good, but not great.

All  in all,  it was a great meal!

This place has great food. The poutine, a delicacy of my homeland, has a spot-on sauce, and the wedge fries are more than good. We've also had the deep fried cheese curds, the house-cured bacon, and another app that I cannot quite remember. In terms of main courses, we've tried all of the slider type sandwiches, both the vegetarian and quinoa gyros (with the latter being a standout), the lasagna (the only miss), and one of their pizzas. The food is consistent, tasty, pretty darn cheap, and tasty as hell. The place has a great beer selection to boot.

Two downsides - it gets noisy if you're just there to have a dinner (which is, however, to be expected in this kind of place)

The main killer though, over the 10+ visits we've made, is the inconsistency of the service. While the service has been excellent most of the times, one particular female server (whom I will not describe for the sake of decorum) is consistently rude, slow, and pushy. Without her, this place would be a solid 5 for what it is. Sure as hell beats out Dirty Frank's and comes close to challenging the Rossi...

I love the food at this overly hip bar/eatery but as other Yelpers have pointed out the service sometimes in well....lacking. I find going at not peak times helpful but like the owned-by-the-same-folks Club 185 in German Village, the wait staff appear to be hired for their babeness and not their actual ability to wait tables. This is a problem. While I like attractive waitresses as much as anyone I'd rather have better service than eye candy when I am hungry.

That said the food is tasty and affordable. I'm particularly fond of the vegetarian gyro made with quinoa. The stromboli are a greasy but heavenly indulgence. The cheese garlic bread was disappointing however, being mostly cheese without much garlic and once it cooled off became inedible.

Me and some friends stumbled upon this place after a failed attempt to try the new yakitori place. I wasn't expecting anything much. I haven't heard of this place before.

Anyhow, this place has freakin amazing pizza. We had the brussel sprouts, mozarella and pancetta pizza. Who knew that brussel sprouts can be made into a pizza? But it worked. The brussel sprouts is slightly burned on the edges; the pancetta is salty and crispy; and the mozarella is just blends everything together. I went back the next week to have the same pizza and i've been coming back on weekly basis ever since.

My only critique is sometimes the pizza can be a bit wet.

My first interaction with Little Palace was not a good first impression.  I was calling to see if they would be able to accommodate a group of 12-15 people.  The manager was less than pleasant and pretty much told me that it may not be a good fit if we didn't want to wait for a table.  I completely understood, but didn't have a good taste in my mouth.  Luckily, a few of our members were able to arrive about 45 minutes early to secure a table for everyone and informed me that the server was super nice.

The table ordered a few appetizers, including the garlic cheese bread, which was really good.  I also ordered a marguerite pizza.  The tomatoes tasted a little odd to me, but my friends enjoyed them.  I liked the crispness of the pizza and ended up having leftovers for the next day.

All-in-all, if you don't have to interact with the manager then you are all set to enjoy some great food at Little Palace.

We had stayed at the Holiday Inn very close to this place. It was recommended by the Bartender. I am so glad he did, we ended up eating her two nights in a row. Its Bar food (Pizza, Sliders, ect) but its done excellently. They also had a nice variety of beers on tap.

We were there over a weekend and the place was pretty busy each night and we did have to wait for a table. I would recommend the Chicken Sliders as well as their Gyro. We recommended it to another hotel guest who when I ran into later thanked me for the recommendation and said they loved it. Also, this place was pretty reasonable. The Gyro was huge and it was $4 and their sliders are between $3-4 each and decently sized.

I can't say enough about their stromboli's and their thick sliced cured bacon! To die for! They have a very eclectic menu and many options for low carb or gluten free diners, but unless you're getting a stromboli or pizza, the portions are small for the price.

The place is often crowded around 8pm forward on weekends. There aren't tons of seating and the atmosphere is dark. On Sunday nights, there is a dj and the music is so loud you can't hold normal conversation.

I used to love coming here before they started playing music so loud you can't talk.

My recent trip to Little Palace didn't disappoint! It is extremely laid back and spacious. Granted, it was around 5 in the afternoon, so I'm not sure what the place is like in the evening/late night hours.

We had the poutine, which was d-e-licious!! I could have just had that and my Palace burger and been set! Oh, the burger...ummm, only $2? Say whaaa?! Yes, it is a "slider" but it was plenty enough for me, especially considering we had the poutine.

On top of my order, I also had the brussel sprouts. While I thought they were cooked pretty well, I wish it had more seasoning. But it isn't every day you get order yummy brussel sprouts with your booze. ;P

The margherita pizza looked generic, and tasted just the same. But I gave them crap for ordering such a simple pizza, when every other type of pizza dish one seemed mouth watering! Your loss, not Palace's. :)

This will be my go-to late night spot. The quality and price cannot be beat!

If you have ever wanted to find a bar that can absolutely do no wrong, here it is. The food is spectacular (little burgers to die for, roasted brussels, pizzas to make you drool, poutine, and mortadella to name a few bits from the glorious menu), the bar is stocked with anything you could want including the locals, and always an interesting draft menu. As if you could ask for more, the staff is simply incredible. Sometimes they are slow to get to you, but you are always welcome and they really do everything to make sure you are comfortable and happy. There is almost always a great soundtrack in the background and rarely is it too loud.

Yes, this is the perfect bar and grill. If I opened a place tomorrow this would be the model.

One thing bad: there are "bums" outside. If you give them money, they think everyone will. Don't fall for the stories, they are made up for you. I have heard 4 different sob stories from the same guy in 2 hours while outside for a smoke. Just a heads up.

I stopped in for a drink and a snack last night after a long night at the office.

For starters, the person/guy behind the bar was abrupt then changed to rude.
I inquired if there were any drinks of the evening, other specials or pitcher specials as many other kitsch venues offer during midweek evenings.

He told me they've never offered pitchers (which is not true, since I yelped about the Tommyknocker pitcher we had on a Sunday in March).  He said they've never even had pitchers in the house.  I asked him if maybe a long while ago they did, to which he said no, rather emphatically.  Then, he  recanted by saying they have specials of pitchers on Sundays.  Ummm. Ok. So you DO have pitchers, and I'm not a liar.  It's just on Sundays.  That would have been cool by me.

I'm an upbeat enthusiastic kind of gal, and this guy was downright rude.

We ordered 2 CBC winter warmers and settled in at the bar.  After reading yelp reviews, especially from Mark K., I decided we had to try the cheese curds.  I asked about them, bar guy said they were good. White cheddar flash fried.

We ordered.  Never got a menu, which might have been nice, but maybe the kitchen was closing?

Our cheese curds were truly SWIMMING in grease.  They weren't melted.  I actually fished them from the plate and pushed them to the side so they might drain.  SEE PHOTO.   Perhaps the oil wasn't hot enough to seal the breading and let the cheese melt?

Bar guy asked if we liked them, I said they were very greasy.  He actually shrugged and walked away!

Ended up having to blot them, soaked through 2 napkins and still left a grease mark on the bar.

This was a sad experience for me since I originally loved the place.

    * I will add I saw bar guy drinking behind the bar as well (actually saw his glass get filled from a beer bottle...) Maybe this has something to do with the behavior?

It's amazing how a person can make or break an experience.

Stopped in last night for a quick drink before dinner.  I knew the beer list was great, and I was pleasantly surprised to find seats at the bar still available.  The service was nice - not overbearing or pushy.  I had the calamari, which was lightly fried and a little chewy, but overall very good.

I have yet to be disappointed by this bar.  It does what it sets out to do in a very effective way and doesn't overreach.

Now I've had some mixed thoughts on Little Palace. From what I've ordered, I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've ordered. I've had their gyro, chipotle sloppy joe and margherita pizza. The calamari appetizer is a little salty, but merries well with the chipotle sauce it comes with. And their hand cut fries have the right balance of seasoning and crispiness that really surprised me. I'm usually not big on hand cut fries because they end up becoming just huge pieces of potatoes with a little or no seasoning.

the reason why I'm mixed is because I've witness other friends meals, most memorable is the margherita pizza with a pool of liquid under the crust that collected on the pie pan. Also, the crust in the center of the pie was very thin and limp like wet cardboard. The toppings slid right off. Even though I had a good pie, after seeing that I will never order a pizza from Little Palace.

The people are nice and the place is comfortable and not too loud that you can't have a conversation. And they're open late, which is great because the area needs more late night eateries.

I'm going with 4 stars because I've always had good experiences here.

We stopped in for a late night dinner at Little Palace the other day. None of us had been here before, and I had heard of it but had no idea what to expect. We walked in and found a table big enough for the 6 of us right away, which was great because we were all starving. Our server was really nice, although a tad slow. After perusing the diverse menu, we all ordered.

Our food came out shortly after ordering, and we immediately dug in. Three of us got the vegetarian gyro (only $4!!). While I definitely like my meat, I thought I'd try something different...whereelse are you going to find a vegetarian gyro made of quinoa offered on a menu? The "gyro meat" looked almost like patties and consisted of some type of beans and quinoa. Whatever the concoction was, it worked! The veggie gyros were tasty, and we all enjoyed them. I also stole a bite of my friend's pizza (maybe the soppressata?). It was good- spicy- but nothing too special. I'll have to try the brussel sprout pizza next time, since I've heard so many good things about that one. The Italian sub was really good, as well. All the meats complimented each other, and I couldn't get enough of whatever that vinaigrette was on the sandwich- yummm!

This place is a great choice for late night eats- it will surely satisfy your tired taste buds!

    Poutine! They have poutine!

This alone earns Little Palace four stars, but I'll tell you a little more...

After an unsuccessful trip to Dirty Frank's, some friends and I decided to try Little Palace instead. And boy am I glad we did! The interior is extremely laid-back, yet very cool. The music was a bit loud for conversation, but that wasn't a big deal. And our server was amazing! She was fast, friendly, efficient, and attentive - but not annoying.

We all sampled each other's food, so here's the rundown of everything we got:

    * House-cured bacon! This stuff is out of this world!
    * Poutine - If you've never had poutine, then this is a must-try! It's traditionally (from my wanna-be home, Canada) french fries, brown gravy, and melted cheese curds. The Little Palace version used big potato wedges instead of fries, but it was still delish!
    * Brussels sprouts - These were just okay. They could have been cooked longer and seasoned more.
    * Mac & Cheese - This was also okay - but nothing too exciting.
    * Stromboli - I was seriously impressed with this. I kept eating all my friend's leftovers!
    * Beer/Cider - They have a great selection of beers and even have cider!

I enjoyed Little Palace so much that next time I go, it won't be just because Dirty Frank's was too crowded.

Swung by here to kill a little time, since the Dirty Frank's line was about 8-10 standing room and four out the door.

So, the Mrs. and I popped over next door. She had sneaked over there on a lunch break before, so she knew some of the food.

The Sunday pitcher special was Tommyknocker's Butt-Head beer, which was quite nice... fills about 3 1/2-4 pints, too.

I did try the food, of course, so I could properly introduce myself to a new experience, so I figured I'd go with a Little Palace Burger -- which is served slider-style -- and a side of fries.

Gotta tell you... the burger's pretty damn good. The only resemblance to the old WC-style "Slider" is the size. It's a burger, baby. Someone in the back is making a small burger and cooking it, not cutting a square and punching five weird holes in it. Quite good. The fries were no slouch... done, crisp and with just a dash of salt.

Walked out for less than 11 bucks... Not a bad snack by any scope. I definitely see myself returning here soon.

The strombolis are awesome but a little on the pricey side. I think they're totally worth it though. They make great amaretto sours and whiskey and cokes. And depending on which waitress you get, they're free. The happy hour has pretty good prices and even after happy hour, the drinks are still reasonably priced. The draft beer selection is pretty average.

I've tried the macaroni and can live without it but the meatball sandwiches are great. The sandwiches are more like sliders so they make great late night snacks which is the best time to go here anyway.

My most recent, and only, visit to Little Palace since my first trip warranted an update since, this time, I indulged in food and not just drink.

We got there around 6:15 and it wasn't too busy. My friend and I were able to snag a booth. YAY! So, we got greeted and served drinks immediately. We found out it was still happy hour. YAY! $2 wells and drafts, $6 martinis, $1 Little Palace burgers. How can one resist? Well, we needed a minute and were almost forced to resist because our waitress never came back!!

    WTF!!??

We were rescued by another waitress who saw us floundering with our empty drinks and strategically placed menu's that said 'we're ready'. She did a great job from that point on and, man, was she busy. It looked like she was serving one entire half of the restaurant as it began to get busier and busier as, GASP, Dirty Franks was closed for an private party. Needless to say, they were staffed for a Tuesday night, but were getting Friday-like traffic. As soon as we were done eating, we felt pressure to leave as many people were waiting for seats to open up. I was OK with that since we waited so damn long to get our order taken.

Our food was GOOD! The Little Palace burger was actually like a slider on steroids. My friend said it was juicy and flavorful. Well worth the $1 price. My Caesar Salad ($3) was OK. I wasn't about to write home about it, but it was good. The Brussels Sprout Pizza ($12) was really delicious. Who would have thought!? I was so glad we ordered it. BUT, I was sad that at $12 it was only 4 largish slices (like a large dinner plate size). For the same (or half, if it's happy hour) price you can get a just-as-delish or, dare I say, better pizza at Marcellas that's a tad larger and served on a nice wooden board that keeps your pizza crispy v. the sogginess we experience from the plate our pizza was served on. So, while I was eating the pizza I was blinded by yumminess, but after I finished, I wish I had been at Marcella's happy hour.

Ho Hum. While I still have love for Little Palace, this might have been my last trip. I am, however, going to try and replicate their Brussels Spout Pizza at home and will challenge Marcella's to get on that!

So on a cold Friday evening a group of us decided to hit up Little Palace for dinner. Walking in I thought the place was too fancy because there was a large group of people all dolled up in dresses and suits but  after looking past the group I realized that my group fit right in and the suits and dresses were out of place (yet not in a going to Olive Garden on prom night kind of way, oh highschoolers so young and dumb)

The waitress came and got our drink orders and I swear teleported  the drinks to us without leaving the table, or maybe I was busy trying to decide what to order, I am sticking with teleportation though. ANYWAYS or food orders were put in and came out quickly enough even if they weren't teleported like our drinks. I got a few of the sliders and fries and there were some salads and pizza on our table too ordered by others. The burger slider was larger than I thought it'd be and it was nice and juicy and the onions added great flavor. I also got a chicken slider that was crispy and had great flavor. The fries were a bit thick for my liking but still were good. Everyone liked their food and for the price I will totally be back.

Lisa S. and I went here for her "big" birthday dinner and all in all, it was sort of depressing knowing Dirty Frank's was right next door. It's not that Little Palace was awful, because it certainly wasn't that- but it also was, of course, no Dirty Frank's Hot Dog Palace.

But let's not discount Little Palace wholesale. Sure, I thought it was a Chinese restaurant until I read the menu, but that's not really their fault. I was immediately drawn to the poutine, which I had never had- although I am a long-standing lover of disco fries, which are strikingly similar. Either disco fries are miles ahead of poutine or something was off with Little Palace's recipe- the cold, lumpy cheese curds could have used some melting in my opinion, and the beef brisket sprinkled throughout would have been better left off; its somewhat dry, chewy texture and bland taste really had no place in a cheese, gravy, and potato orgy.

As a main course I settled on a stromboli. Why not- it had been awhile since I had one! Well, I was not overly impressed by what I was served, but it was huge and it was at least decent, if not somewhat tasty. (In all honesty, it was WONDERFUL after a few minutes in the microwave, much better than it was at the restaurant).

Other than the basically underwhelming food, I had the impression of darkness. It was definitely a bar atmosphere; most of the light in the place was coming from the large television screens visually vomiting bright swaths of sports all over our otherwise peaceful meal.

In retrospect, Little Palace wasn't all that bad. If it was just some restaurant somewhere I had stumbled into I'd probably have more enthusiasm for it all. But in the end, I can't in good conscience look you in the eye and tell you to ignore Dirty Frank's and enter its, sorry folks, lesser neighbor.

Ever since Little Palace re-opened, I've occasionally suggested it to friends who wanted to hit Dirty Frank's, especially on nights where DF had a long wait.

After several months of "Naah, maybe another time", they finally caved, and we're all kicking ourselves for not going sooner.

Dark wood, low lighting, and a quiet feel to the place give you the urge to relax and order a drink. I agree that it feels a bit like something out of "Mad Men."

I was possessed by the strong urge to order a Manhattan, because it seemed exactly like the kind of place you'd drink one. When I did, I decided to leave the choice of bourbon to the bartender, since I wasn't sure what they had available. When my waitress returned with drinks, she mentioned the bartender had taken care of me and mixed the drink with Maker's Mark.

There seemed to be a decent selection of beers, but when I tried to check out the bar I ran into one of the few problems I had here - the lighting was so low around the bar area that even after my eyes had adjusted to the lighting after coming in from outside, I couldn't read a single tap or beer label.

The food is a relatively small but awesomely executed menu. Our table of four split the charcuterie platter, enjoying the thinly sliced meats and cheeses, and decided to try a side of the roasted sprouts as an appetizer as well.

I cannot say enough good things about the sprouts. Nutty, salty, a little spicy. Wow. They disappeared almost as soon as they hit the table, and I had to go back for more by ordering the roasted sprouts 'pizza' (though given there was barely any cheese and no real sauce, it's probably better to consider this a flatbread. An incredibly tasty flatbread, layered with slices of the roasted sprouts, a few bits of pancetta, and a light dusting of cheese over some melted garlic butter, but still a flatbread.)

I also decided to try a side of the house cured bacon - WOW. Thick cut, nicely cooked, crispy, a little salty, a little pepper-y, a little fatty, just a perfect BACON flavor. If you like pig, you need to eat this.

It's certainly not as cheap as their next door neighbor (a typical meal at DF will usually run me ~$15. Dinner at Little Palace did me for $40 plus tip), but it's a totally different experience, and worth going out for.

I figure once you go to a place twice in a week its time to write up a review.

This place is a smash success when it comes to atmosphere, an inviting den decorated with the most sought after garage sale finds. Lots of wood paneling and a cigarette machine to match. The bar is wonderful with retro stained glass dividing the bar from the dining area. They have a jukebox that plays actual CD's so your ears will be protected from any moron who normally wanders in from the street and pays to download the newest top 40 hit they just listened to 5 times in the last hour. The selection is amazing and includes the most current Pitchfork/Gorilla vs. Bear/PMA blogosphere popular artists.

To be honest, I am mostly in love with the jukebox and getting so hammered that I feel like I broke into my grandparents house after I come to. The only food I or my friends have have had is the pizzas and they are amazing!! I am a vegetarian so the menu is limited in that regard, not a complaint to me.

Good Beer, wood fired pizza, and cool music. Get with it.

I have stopped by Little Palace twice since they re-opened under new management. The first night I went for a couple drinks and a small bite to eat... I had an anti-pasta plate... it was ok... nothing special.. Don't get me wrong... I ate the whole thing. Anyway, my friend ordered the pizza... It looked pretty good.  I am looking forward to trying more menu items next time I go back.

I liked the atmosphere... It has hints of the Rossi and 185, but, it is definitely unique. It has an LA late night diner feel. The only complaint I have is the bathroom situation.... The ladies room is a single... I don't know about the men's room, but, when this bar gets crowded... the bathroom wait is going to be a problem.

The drinks and food are inexpensive and from what I can tell... pretty good... I think Little Palace is a great addition to the area... I love having more bars and late night food options close to German Village... Keep them coming.

Side note: There was a homeless man harrassing people on the street and standing in the window making gestures to our table the entire time we were there... It was kind of creepy and really hard to ignor.
