While the service was excellent, the food was on par with what you'd get at a child's birthday party if they were lucky enough to have it at Chucky Cheese. Â We had the Hawaiian pizza (gave me heartburn, but I've had worse), the garlic cheesy bread (think-microwavable) but they did have great lemonade. I would have loved to try their calzone because I don't think you can judge an eatery on 1 or 2 dishes but since their main bag is pizza, I can judge a little bit.
Review Source:Dinner family style after a movie and on a busier night.
It's a large chain Italian restaurant, and all that comes with it....with that being said there are still a few great uses for a restaurant like this. For example, when your treating the family out for dinner after Les Miserables, amazing BTW, and know that your brother will inevitably, whenever you take him to dinner order the most expensive thing on the menu. No worries, why? Maggiano's in true Italian tradition will serve you heaping amounts of carbs family style, and when your with the family, that's a good thing.
The whole experience, as to be expected, average, the server was ok, not great, just mediocre. Once I realized he was not the type to notice the details and since I have no problem pointing out the details, water, another bottle of wine, how about some bread...oh well....at least we ended up on the same page. I tell him what we need and he brings it out right away, not my preferred style but ehh, could have been worse. Â
The food was good and the variety of dishes to purchase for the family style option left everyone pleased with the meal. Overall, a great location to take a large group.
Tried to do a Frank Sinatra-like gangsta-style review of Maggiano's and it just wasn't workin', so here's the simple truth: In 1991 a Chicago entrepreneur (Rich Melman) developed the Maggiano's theme aimed at "re-creating the classic pre-World War II [Italian] dinner house featuring family size portions." http://en.wikipedia.org/…. He named the business after his late partner, Marvin Magid. In '95 the Brinker International corporation bought the business. There are now 50 Maggiano's restaurants in 20 states. Â
They serve addictive and well done corporate versions of generally heavy Italian-esque comfort foods. Â Think pasta with lots of rich tomato or cream sauces, generaously spiced with salt, garlic, basil, and oregano. This is not what Italian cooking is all about, but it's what we stereotypically think of as "Classic Italian" cuisine. Â I gotta admit that it scratches a food itch of mine, whether or not it's authentic. Â In that way, it's a lot like pizza. We think of our NY or Chicago style pizza as Italian, and modern pizza (tomato/cheese/spices baked on flat bread) was invented in Naples, but American pizza, of any style, is just very different from the pizza you get in Italy. Not better or worse. Just different.
So if you want some heavy-handed tastes of "Italy" (with quotes), Maggiano's is a reliable, good-to-very good chain. In other words, it's a 3 star restaurant to which you'll and I'll probably return.
4+
We really enjoy going to Maggiano's. Italian food - that says it all!
We love their service - always excellent! We have never, ever, had poor, bad, slow, or forgetful service there. It has always been excellent!
Food - WOW! We love to go for the "2 for $40" special. This is where you get two main dishes, an appetizer, and a dessert for your meal. PLUS, you get two more main dishes to take home. WOW! You can't beat that, NO, you really can't!!
Atmosphere - relaxing, comfortable, cozy, tastefully decorated, fun, inviting.... need I say more?
Prices - very good. A meal for 2 here, will not break the bank. Awesome! You can even go see movie afterwards, and still be in good shape.
Parking - park in the Pavilions parking garage, lots of parking spaces.
Bar - full bar. We also like having an appetizer or two at the bar, and just relaxing after a long week.
Restrooms - nicely decorated, and clean! Â Remember the saying, "if the restrooms are clean, the kitchen will be too."
So, enough said. Go!
Tip - go during the holidays, as the restaurant is gorgeously decorated! Can't wait to go!
See you there!!!
PROS:
Service was good, staff was friendly
Prices were cheaper than I expected to pay
Portions were huge
Relatively casual and easy-going atmosphere
Not terribly loud
Group and family friendly
CONS:
I hate to say it, but the almost everything we tried on the menu was terrible... utterly bland and tasteless. The only dish that actually tasted good was the flatbread appetizer.
SO overpriced. I got the bowtie pasta with broccolini and sundried tomatos. I chose this one because it was one of their "classic pastas", from which you can get one entree for dinner and another one to take home, which I thought sounded like a great deal. Unfortunately the dish had no flavor and was easily something I could have made at home. When they brought me a to-go bag I realized that they advertise what brand of pasta they use- Barilla. This IS the brand I use at home! You can get a big box at the grocery store for less than 2 dollars and after tip I paid nearly 20 at Maggiano's!
The service was good, the atmosphere is nice, but this place uses cheap ingredients and is definitely not worth the price.
We were greeted with a smile from the gentleman at the door. Â This is the only good thing that occurred during our attempt to dine at Maggiano's. Â We are the types to enjoy a five-course meal at the bar, perhaps with a bottle of Barbaresco, Brunello, or Amarone. Â I'm the wino and my partner is a foodie, so our bill is normally over $250 when we are in the mood for food and wine; however, we spent $25 that night due to the lack of service.
After being greeted, we found a seat in the crowded lounge at the high-top. Â The only seat available was next to a young man that made me feel very uncomfortable as reached for my coat pocket on the chair and acted oddly..slouched over with his hoodie over his face and drinking only water. Â I went up to the bartender and said he was making us feel uncomfortable and he laughed and said he was a regular.....okay, but your guest in uncomfortable......just sayin. Â When two seats opened at the bar we moved immediately and closed our tab with our waiter. Â Upon sitting at the bar, the bartender looked at our full drinks and rolled his eyes. Â We were never greeted or asked if we wanted menus. Â After ten minutes or so I asked for a menu. Â We were never asked if we wanted food or a refill on our drinks. Â Instead of having a nice dinner with a great bottle of wine at the bar, we didn't eat at Maggianos's due to the treatment. Â Instead, we went elsewhere and our server was tipped $60 on our bill. Â Our bartender at Maggiano's missed out. Â
If I were to make a hospitality video, I'd point out many mistakes from this night
1. Â If your guest is uncomfortable, try to make them comfortable
2. Â Know your bar (we asked the server if they had Belvedere vodka, and after asking the bartender he replied with a "No". Â When we sat at the bar, we saw the bottle. Â The bottle was a Special Edition red color, so it could be an obvious mistake from a server, but not a bartender...know your bar. Â That was another missed sale.
3. GREET your guest with a smile when they set at your bar!
4. ASK your guest if they'd like to see a menu!
5. Ask your guest if they would like to venture into a bottle of wine or ANYTHING.
6. DON'T EVER roll your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were very disappointed. Â Major bummer.
What can I say? This place has good food in a good location for good prices. Nothing outstanding but then, if you can't get off of 16th Street and you want to join your fellow tourists for decent "traditional Italian" then look no further.
This place is great for large groups and families. If you are going on a date then keep searching. No need to dress up as it's completely casual. The wait staff was nice and efficient.
One thing that's you'll find here is that you are going to get a lot of food. So much so that you either have to leave it behind to be thrown away or you can get it to go. My advice - get it to go and give it to one of the homeless people out on 16th Street. That's much better than giving them money and will provide them with a decent meal for the night.
After wandering around 16th street like most lost tourists trying to burn time we stumbled upon a name we recognized from Detroit; maggiano's little Italy. We strolled in at 5 on a Monday hoping for a satisfying meal. What we got was all that and more.
Moseying in we were greeted by a friendly host and a dimly lit bar decked in traditional wood and classic styling. The teasing smell of Italian food is palpable in the air but impossible to pinpoint. As our waitress escorts us to our table I used that time to take in the ambiance.
Chandlers hung low over the tables, casting a romantic glow across large plates and smiling faces. Individuals of various ages dot our little piece of Italy as Sinatra lulls you into the past. The walls are decorated with classic black and white photos and signatures of famous stars on thir photos fill in the gaps. The facility, quite large, seems to have a limitless amount of seating, which, from reading other reviews, possesses no inability to fill every available seat.
We are sat at a booth, tough but supportive, and greeted by our entertaining waiter. I chose a Stella to drink and began to peruse the menu. I admit, I didn't take very long. One of the first items on the menu, the lobster carbonara, caught me quick and sealed the deal. We received bread, butter and our beverages and place our orders; hunger hastened our choices. Everyone decided to order a salad as an appetizer and I found no reason to argue. I ordered their Maggiano salad and we chatted aimlessly for a short period before our rabbit snacks arrived. Fresh, tasty and well portioned, the kick of the onion and bite of the blue cheese danced with the dressing to make an irresistible and appreciated choice. After devouring it with reckless disregard I eagerly awaited our entrees.
Watching steaming plates the size of a small tire go by, I Â stared at them like a cat waiting by a mouse hole. Finally (but in no way slow) a man dressed in black arrived with our orders. Nearly bouncing in my seat I picked up my fork, toasted my fingers on the hot plate as I pulled it as close to my gaping maw as I could and wielded my fork as a spartan would a spear. My first bite was heaven, very similar to my last. The lobster, soft and flavorful, melded with the bruschetta and sauce to craft the flavor I haven't experienced in many other restaurants. Simply delectable, the taste was almost too delicious; a perfect forkful caused your taste buds to jump and your mouth to inevitably smile. Simply bliss.
The price? Not for your every day visit, but a meal such as that is not decided by price but by the experience you wish to have. If you wish to travel to anther place and time to a location where dreams are covered in cheese and elegance then you have an easy choice ahead.
I suggest this EXPERIENCE to anyone, and can't stress my pleasure to have eaten here.
Maggiano's....the place of ultimate debate. Â I think this is a place that most people fall into two categories - love it or hate it. Â I think I'm somewhere in the middle. Â I've been going for about a decade now, but usually because of a celebration of some sort that I'm just going along with. I've been in all of those back meeting rooms for one celebration or another. Â And those get togethers back there have made up a 4/5 star experience at Maggiano's. Â I think the restaurant really cultivates those big groups, and I assume they make a good profit margin on them, so they are very focused on pleasing the big groups. Â The back rooms are over serviced and the food is fantastic and that is great, but why isn't the main dining room so nice? Â In fact, I've always noticed how much higher the food quality and presentation is in those meeting rooms. Â
So if you're just a regular shmuck couple waiting for a table top (of which I've been there in this capacity about 6-7 times)....be prepared for a less than stellar experience. Â During the dinner hours on every night, there is always a wait no matter what. Â In fact the host never ever seems to be at his or her station. Â And when you are greeted, it's always like you are a burden to the staff. Â I think this attitude is encouraged by the restaurant owners as a way to try and get you to load up on booze at the bar, another source of inflated profit margins. Â There isn't even a wating area other than the crowded bar. Â So if you want to wait in the warmth, bevy up to the drinking hole and be prepared to wait for a table that has been clear for 30 minutes. Â This system always pisses me off, so I order an iced tea from the barthender and tell them I'm just taking it in the dining room and transfer my ticket to my food bill after I slap down a buck tip for the bartender. Â I've even had a few bartenders say they won't do it, so I just push the tea back and grab my dollar back. Â Â Â
But once you're sat down, the food and wait staff are pretty decent. Â I can't ever remember a poor server. Â The best of Maggiano's grub goes out to those big groups in the meeting rooms, but the food brought to individuals in the main dining room is pretty fairly solid as well. Â Ya know, Italian food is similar to Chinese food and/or pizza....everyone has their own idea as to what should be the best. Â For example, I ordered the meat lasagna one time and it was okay, but it was 80% meat. Â Others may love that, but it left me wondering where the pasta and bechemel sauce was?
Maggiano's menu is large and they have a few house specialties, which is always the way to go at an Italian joint IMO. Â For Maggiano's it's their Rigatoni "D." Â And there are some other house specialties that I can't remember but they always seem to be a step up in quality and taste than the old standbys of spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna. Â
Long story short - Maggiano's for big groups - 4/5 stars. Â Maggiano's for small groups and/or couples - 2/3 stars. Â Prices are large for a chain restaurant but so are the servings.
Great atmosphere and great food at a reasonable price. This place is a pre-marathon carboloaders DREAM! We always get a classic pasta dish to take home and since we were staying an extra day (traveled from San Francisco), we took advantage of that with some bowtie pasta and a serving of lasagna.
Review Source:Oh 16th St Mall restaurants. We came to this location in July with a group of 12 people as we had family in town for our wedding. We made a reservation for 8pm and showed up to have to wait an additional 20 minutes. There is no formal waiting area and so we were crammed to the side of the windows out to the patio as people shuffled in and out past us.
When we were finally seated, we were up against a pole and another group's circular table. Not only was it difficult to get in to our table, but impossible to get out if you were at the pole side. Making 5 other people shuffle out of the way isn't ideal.
Service was very slow. We were seated by 830 and not able to leave with checks paid until 1030. We only had entrees and yet sat around for forever. The food was as always, very good. I love their rigatoni pomodoroe with the chicken sausage and fresh peppers. It's my favorite and the portion is big enough for two meals. Everyone enjoyed their food, though the epic wait for food to arrive and then our bills to be processed, put a damper on the evening.
If you're from the Denver area, I would recommend checking out another location as this one is always packed. Come at an unusual time or be prepared for a wait.
Maggiano's Little Italy is always a favorite place to take family and friends. The food is pretty good, not amazing. The service it great and the atmosphere is awesome. Prices are a little high for the quality of food but all in all you get a good meal and have a lot of fun. The family style dining is usually new to people I bring thus it makes for a lot of fun trying new things and sharing each others selection. I don't foresee them being awarded a Michelin star anytime soon but I will always return.
Review Source:I have been to this Maggiano's many times and the food and service has always been consistently GREAT!! Â My wife has food allergies and they always accommodate her needs without question. Â The minestrone soup was fully of chunky vegetables, and the side Caesar salad was perfectly done - not drowning in dressing like so many other places do. Â I had the Lasagna with meat sauce and it was to die for!! My wife had the seafood linguine and loved every bite. Â The portions were BIG, so we both took left-overs home. Â Needless to say, we will be back!!
Review Source:I hope I don't sound snotty but I don't normally eat at chains, much less review them on Yelp. But I am catching up today so decided to just write one for these guys anyways because...well, I honestly didn't feel like there were a lot of good places to eat in downtown Denver! We stayed on 16th Street Mall area and so we walked up and down that place a lot. Nothing really looked good nor had good reviews. In cases like this, sometimes it IS good to just eat a chain. At least you know what to expect! And Maggiano's is really not that bad. Way better than Buca di Beppo!
Review Source:We went for my son's 17th Birthday, we had reservations that stated we were celebrating a birthday. When they called me to confirm the reservation they also stated that we were celebrating his birthday.
When we checked in we had to wait for around 15 minutes, it was a very busy Friday night. Â When we sat we all had drinks, so we didn't see our waiter right away. Â He was ok, not overly friendly. Â It took sometime to get our food, the appetizers were cold, and it went down from there. Â When our desert came after waiting 20 minutes for, no mention of my sons birthday!!!! Of coarse we didn't see our waiter until the check came, by then we all wanted to go!!
Would not recommend this place at all, its way over priced, not over the top in flavor, service is very poor!!!
My husband and I had a date night at Maggianos downtown. Â The ambiance was very welcoming and our server was attentive and delightful. She happily reccomended white wine that was amazing. Â
What I love about maggianos is they give you a seperate order to go that you can enjoy later. Â It was delicious at the restaurant and delicious for late night.
The portions are generous and the food is great.
I was drug here and only agreed because it was a friend's birthday. Hey, it's your day so it's your choice. I was not excited one bit, since I HATE chain restaurants, but they only proved to me why I HATE chain restaurants.
Service - Terrible. We were the first ones there and it still took 30 minutes for my boyfriend to get his beer. Seriously, it was only a Peroni. In the 3 hours that we were there (large group) I had 3 glasses of wine. Really? I can drink 3 glasses of wine in an hour. Sheesh.
Food - Heavy and boring. We had a wide variety of food since it was a big group and nothing really excited me. I either could have cooked better myself or bought a microwave dinner. One huge waste of a meal in my opinion.
Paying the check - for some reason the server split all the drinks off and did a poor job of keeping us all straight, but then the food was all together on one bill. I was doing some serious calculations between the two types of checks, which she didn't have ours right, and then adding in food, tax and gratuity. I know that big groups can be a big pain in the arse, but we were all couples. It was actually not as hard as it worked out to be.
All in all I would only ever go to this place if someone forced me to go. Denver has such a great restaurant scene that I don't understand going to a Brinker restaurant. I would have been more happy going to Paramount or Marlowe's across the street.
The service here on a very crowded night was fantastic. We arrived late due to a taxi fiasco and our guests were well looked after while they waited for our arrival. We had a corner booth which are nice because you are tucked out of the way as the tables are definitely set close together.
We started with the calamari and mussel apps. The calamari was crisp and was not oily like some can be - I would have liked a few less tentacles and a few more rings but that is a sensory thing for me. The PEI mussels were full of flavor with a nice, light broth. I only got one as the boys devoured the rest.
The side chopped salad was huge and could have been a whole meal in itself. It seemed like I kept eating it but it never went down. I loved the combo of prosciutto, blue cheese and perfectly ripe avocado. Next up eggplant as the hubby hates it so I never make it at home. Plus if you order off the classic pasta menu you get a 2nd order to take home - score! My pick to go - cheese ravioli. Hubby got the pork medallions in a peppercorn sauce - it was bursting with flavor and could have easily been 2 meals - served with a garlic mash and green beans - by far the favorite of the evening.
I had a Roy Rogers with my meal - I was feeling wild - and had the pomegranate martini with dessert - it was curl your toes sweet - def more of a dessert drink and left this lightweight buzzed. Hubby loves the Italian mojito which is no longer on the menu but they will make it for you if you ask - it is made with Amaretto instead of rum. Sounds kind of gross to me but he likes it.
Dessert itself was over the top as we had a sampler of many of the items - tiramisu, decadent chocolate cake, spiced pear cake topped with perfectly fluffy whipped cream and my fav Vera's lemon cookies - they are light and about the only thing I have left for at the end of a meal here.
Yes Maggiano's is a chain but it is on top of the chains. However this place is not for amateurs you will leave overstuffed if you don't pace yourself. Â The staff is great and always willing to accommodate special requests, the chef will come out to speak with you about any special dietary needs including allergies. This is extremely important as the hubby has a nut allergy so I always appreciate the extra caution. Plus anytime I can enjoy a meal with the strains of Frank Sinatra in the background is alright with me!
This has to be one of the best restaurants for ambiance in Denver, I could walk around and stare at the old, classic Italian photos for hours. Â It gives you an incredibly nostalgic feel. Â The old wood and beautiful lighting only heighten the strength of the Italian feel of this restaurant, chain or no chain. Â
I love eating here, for the simple fact that one appetizer and a small cup of salad is so huge it fills me up and adheres to my frugality sentiments of eating out. Â The wait staff is very helpful and really try to go out of their way to ensure you find what you are looking for on the menu.
Maggiano's is a chain but you know what? Â It never, ever disappoints. Â The food is always absolutely phenomenal. Â Their tiramisu is a party in my mouth. Â So good. Â I even liked the linguine with clam sauce, and I don't like clams! Â The prices may seem a bit high, but their portions are so oversized you can make 2 or even 3 meals out of one meal. Â They seem relentlessly committed to customer service - even the one bad experience we had there two years ago (they sat us an hour late, even though we had reservations) they fixed by assigning us a fantastic waitress who had us in stitches by the end of the night and then comping our entire meal (we had expected they would only comp half, as that is what they had offered). Â Further, my sister-in-law has a gluten sensitivity and, unusually for a lot of Italian places, they are happy to accommodate that.
Because of the portions and the prices (even if you can make several meals out of it, don't expect to leave without dropping $50-75 for two people), Maggiano's has to be a sometimes meal. Â But boy is it a nice one! Â It seems like a lot of restaurants lately are cutting corners or otherwise compromising on food or service quality, and it's nice to go to one that goes to such efforts to maintain its high standards.
Great food here. Â Similar holiday decorations to the Centennial location. Â We ate here for an office Christmas party. Â With large groups, definitely go "Family Style."
I've tried 5 dishes at Maggiano's locations, and still haven't found anything I didn't like.
For a great appetizer, try the fried zuchinni.
This was my second time eating here, but I wasn't Yelping the first time around. Walking in, the décor hits you smack in the face: Christmas red hanging all over the place in the large dimly lit dining room, matching up well with the wood beams, crimson-like booths, and white tablecloths. Wine glasses line each table as I pass many large family-style plates, groups, singles, and a few kids running around the back corner.
I ordered a Bombay and tonic to start. The drink was perfect! Rarely every do I get a good mix for that drink, but the bartender at Maggiano's knows how to do it right.
For my entrée I ordered the linguini and clams in a white wine sauce. Fresh clams have a distinct flavor that is easily discernable from shellfish that has been stored or frozen for a while. The clams in this dish were fresh and cooked well as they were tender and not chewy. The linguini could have been a cooked a little longer; I felt it was a bit undercooked at times...unevenly cooked pasta, I guess? Even with this minor setback, the flavor of the dish was solid and light,
but I do wish there were more sauce to mix in with the pasta.
Our waiter was funny and smiled a lot. I love it when the staff takes pride in their work...even if they are pretending as long as it looks real then I love it (I used to work in a bakery and you would think it was the greatest place on Earth with the amount of fun my friends and I had at work). Anywho, back to the review!
I was out with a client and she ordered the braised beef ravioli...AWESOME DISH! It's always the other person's dish that rocks the table and her ravioli was nothing short of spectacular. I believe it was topped with spinach (the little things that count) and the cheese in and on the ravioli provided flavor for days. The bright orange color of the food was eye-catching and the beef inside the ravioli was also tender...I need a thesaurus.
I am in Denver more often than I'd like to be, but each time I am here I like the food more and more. If you want good Italian food, Maggiano's is a solid choice. Woot!
p.s. I ordered the Gnocchi and Italian sausage when I was here earlier in the year and it was yummy yummy. I don't remember it well enough to review it in detail, but it is another reason I gave Maggiano's four stars. I figure one night of so-so linguini can't ruin the good of two other dishes.
Yes same rating as the dtc maggianos! However, there's minor differences between the 2...
Service. Â I made reservations wednesday and they asked any special requests.. So I told them I'm in a wheelchair and that was all... Â So today when we went we waited a few minutes which was odd.. Â I think it was a little more odd they reserved a table in the middle of the joint so it was a bit hard to get around since it was crowded.. Â Dtc never has this problem.. Â I had coupons at both places and both fail to put it on until I have to bring it up when they mess up!
Taste. Â Downtown is a lot better! Â 4 out of 5 times at dtc our pasta is under cooked. It kinda sad that for the price you pay they don't know how to make pasta Al dente. Â The downtown ones better, and better yet faster!
Both are good but downtown wins! Â But I truly wish they both can fix things so the customers can have better experiences..
I actually liked maggiano's... Till the night of my birthday!
The food wasn't that great. And it was a long wait. Seems to me, that no one really liked it :/ what really pissed me off was that I made reservations days prior to my dinner and when I got there I still had to wait! They gave me a buzzer.
Also, I had brought my own cake and it was in a box. As we were leaving I wanted the original box to my cake cause I still had some left. Waiter was a little weird about giving it back. He seemed like he didn't want too, till my friend got mad. And come to find out he threw away the box and didn't tell us. We found out after boxing the cake, cause it was soggy and smelly with pasta sauce and cheese on it.
Brother's bday dinner was on a Tuesday night and the placed was packed. Â We ordered drinks at the bar since it was happy hour. Â We had a reservation at 6:30pm and was seated at 7pm. Â We ordered family style and since we brought our own cake they let up substitute the dessert for an additional appetizer. Â It's also endless so the food keeps coming.
caesar salad...good
had another salad but don't remember what it was except that it had bacon so that's a win
calamari...ok but good, sauce is a bit runny
sausage...very good, we kept on ordering more
gnocchi with sausage...gnocchi was ok, a little dry but the sausage was very good
mama'slasagna...i didn't try it but the table asked for more so it must have been good
beef stroganoff...ok
baked ziti...very yummy!
chicken parmesan...juicy and perfectly breaded. my favorite of the night
Service was great, he promptly ordered more entrees when we were running low. Â He also happily packed up many to go boxes.
9 adults and 1 child family dinner, 1 bottle of wine, 2 ice teas...bill was $380 with tip.
Ah Maggianos. I make it a point never to go here until Christmas as the decorations are spectacular and unsurpassed anywhere in Denver. As I sit there sipping my champagne everything sparkles around me and the world seems right and dare I say it magical. It's also a pretty popular spot to hit after seeing a performance of the nutcracker ballet down the road. The food is wonderful, I especially enjoy the Eggplant Parmesan and the Filet Mignon. Is wonderful to go with family and friends here!
The hungry kitten says: At Christmas this place is just right.
I mean, it's Maggiano's. Â For the most part we've all been there before. Â We all go there because it's dependable, all things considered. Â You're not going to gag over the plate of food. Â You're going to eat pasta and be able to dance for hours afterward because that's what carbs do. Â You're going to spend an hour or two feeling like a quasi Italian wannabe who ought to be living in Chicago, because Chicago has better Italian food. Â But you're not in Chicago and damn, you're not even Italian (because if you were you'd be going to Rico's on Broadway). Â But you DO like pasta, so you go here.
I make better everything. Â Sometimes it doesn't matter how well you make it, though --- it's enough that someone else is doing it and that it's decent. Â And Maggiano's is decent. Â And plus they have booze. Â Booze makes gray look like the sunrise.
Maybe you can smell what the rock is cooking. Â
Meh.
