Mario's Double Daughter's Salotto

Dropped in on a Friday night for a drink with my guy friend. The decor was definitely very gothic, but not in an uninviting way.

We sat at the bar and were served promptly.  It was moderately busy, but not packed. I had one of their speciality cocktails, the Bitch & Moan.  Very tasty.  Didn't have food as we had just come from dinner elsewhere, but all in all, a solid cocktail place with a pretty cool vibe.

To be fair, this is not my type of place, and I was not keen on going there to begin with, but our friends wanted to go so we gave it a chance.

The place is dark and has a lounge vibe but the decorations are simply awful, the music is far from inviting and the atmosphere lacking.

The bartender gave us a menu which didn't have a lot of cocktail options but the wine list was quite poor and the beer selection uninspiring. I had one cocktail that was ok but not great for $10

We then sat at a table but our waitress seemed to disappear and we flagged another waiter that although friendly, stated he couldn't serve us because only our waitress could open our tab....he couldn't find our waitress either. Since we had open our tab with the bartender at the bar and our waitress was able to access the tab, the waiter's excuse didn't sound true

Worst of all, the place is shared with the pizza place next door....thanks to poor ventilation you leave smelling like a pizza oven.

This place is really cool! I love the creepy decorations and booths. The girls I talked to said they think it's too creepy so maybe not a good place to go on a first date. The dance floor is cool and the drinks are great! Highly recommend.
