I've tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to have a bad meal.  My favorites are the Fillet Mignon Burrito and the Daddy Mac.

How can a bar be called Matilda, yet they do not serve Matilda? Sigh. Very cute bar.

However, they have a $20 minimum on credit cards. Hate that. However, there is an ATM in the basement that no fee. On this particular night the ATM was down so the bartender let me charge my one glass of wine. Which I appreciated.

Held several Drink and Draw socials at Matilda last year...Great place to hang out and draw with some friends. Food was great. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Very nice atmosphere...beautiful celestial theme in the room we met in.

Matilda is a decent place for some wine after work. The bartender is always great and the drinks are not overpriced.

Although I have never eaten at Matilda, I hear their steak salad is phenomenal. The have a decent outside seating area (4 tables or so) during warm weather. The interior decor keeps changing so I can't comment on that.

    Overall, a pleasant experience.

"Toby, Toby...who the f is Toby?"
I feel like Joe at the beginning of Reservior Dogs. When he finds her number in an old jacket and I found this on my bookmarks. "Matilda, Matilda..?" Not very memorable but the details are coming back.

First things f-ing last. We went since we had a deal and it was close to home plus they have a dance fest in the basement "Baby Atlas."

We ordered bottled beers so that's straight forward. The chips and which come salsa and pico and we added guacamole. I think she forgot the pico and it was all very typical and bland.

We both got burgers too and those were mundane. My dining partner eats as much as me and didn't really tackle the food with enthusiasm, barely ate a couple bites.

The basement is down steep rickety stairs and the vibe was just ok; but to be fair maybe it livens up later.

The website is not very user friendly and the posted warnings of the caveats of cooking food and time regarding service are a touch different. I don't get why they even added that.

I give Matilda a 3 since I would try other menu items and Baby Atlas then update my review accordingly. Ok ramblers, get rambling.

Awful experience.  Matilda bills itself as a Michigan bar and I went for the New Years Day bowl game.  We got in at 11:30am  for the noon kick off (we were one of the first tables there) and were told the kitchen wasn't open until noon.  Strange but whatever.

We tried to get our waitress' attention at 12:15 to aide our hungover stomachs with some grub.  She snaps that she is still not taking food orders, quickly walks away and literally disappears for 15 minutes in the middle of the game.  I still haven't mentioned the drink order we made at noon never found its way to the table.

We peak over to the other side of the bar to see everyone on that side had drinks and food.  Our waitress finally reappears and starts taking food orders for tables that were there well after we arrived.  I threw down cash to cover the half order of drinks my table got and walked out, we didn't want to have to wait another hour to get our bill.

This place was woefully understaffed for the last game of the season and whichever waitress was working the North room this morning literally didn't want to serve us.  We ended up going to the Dark Horse on Sheffield and Clark and got great service and were still able to listen to the audio of the game.

So yeah, if you're going there for a Michigan game avoid it.

IF YOU'RE SINGLE AND ABOUT 30, READ THIS.

this bar is for our people.  finally, a bar in lakeview/wrigley that's not swarming with babies.  and it's not totally obnoxious.

my blonde friend and i came for another friend's fundraiser thing-a-ma-jig.  we weren't able actually get into the private room downstairs (the stairs are RIDICULOUSLY steep, fyi) bc the drink deal was almost over, so we went back up and sat at the bar.  the 'tender was awesome and let us order one app as the kitchen was closing.  the goat cheese thing in the red sauce on the bread pieces were delish.  would definitely get that again.  we looked around and saw that there were a plethora of men for us to choose from.  i was pleasantly surprised.

i will definitely be back since blonde friend lives down the street.  yay, menwhoarentbabies!

Very cool chill vibe, non-college bar in the neighborhood.  Big screen for sports, great music, and really really amazing food.  Good service too.

Great for a date night. Portions are big and filling for the price. The waitresses were courteous and prompt, and the atmosphere is great -- there's a "fireplace" near the windows if you really want to impress your date. We had the goat cheese appetizer, fish tacos, and this really rich mac and cheese dish. Loved all of the food, and we're planning on coming back.

I like it. I definitely want to come back. I met some friends here last night (a Friday) and really enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere. Matilda's isn't a dive bar, but still has a pretty laid back feel and I love how they used different types of lighting to create a whimsical ambiance. Our server was super friendly (I don't remember her name) and provided us with great service. I'm excited to come and check out the dance floor downstairs. It looked a little bit like a college frat party in the basement, but hey...if its awkward, I don't have to dance anymore.

So...for my first experience, two thumbs up. We'll see how it goes the second time around.

Came here on Thursday with a friend. It wasn't too busy but it was a great atmosphere to catch up and have a relaxing dinner and some glasses of wine. My friend had the mac and cheese which was the large portion and half of it filled her up. I had the tacos which were great as well. We didn't have anything to complain about!

Great vibe, right across from Studio Be & by the Vic. I love the intimate lighting and tables, star lights, and the fact that I had NO idea there was this awesome dance club right down stairs! It's a bar AND a club, but you'd never know it... :) Also great cocktail, wine, and beer selection.

granted it was late when we came in and we were probably loud but our waitress didnt even so much as grunt at us...simply plopped some waters down on the table (thanks...im sure we needed em haha) and walked away

whatev no hard feelings...im sure ill wander in again sometime

This place was pretty good.  The seats could use restuffing (our booth had a giant hole in the seat that dropped you down four inches), but the food was solid.  The steak salad came with a large share of meat, 1 lb pork chop w/side of macaroni was quite filling, and the beer list was great!

I haven't been here as a bar yet, but it got the job done as a restaurant.

I don't really like Matilda's. I think my friends like that it is 23+, so that it avoids the college-y type crowd in the area. The bar means it too - went here the weekend of my 23rd birthday and the doorman didn't let me 22 year old friend come in. Even though the place has the age restriction, I don't think that it's so much more sophisticated than other bars in the area. The main reason I say this is that the music is too loud. Admittedly, I've been there in crowds, but I also went recently on a dreary day not so crowded day and it was loud. The set up is nice for standing at highboy tables or finding some lounge areas around the perimeter and talking with people, but the music doesn't easily allow talking too much beyond one person. You need to yell.

I guess I agree with what people say, "The beer list is pretty good." I  hear the dance floor can be super fun, and that the stairs down there are quite steep. Between that danger and the loud atmosphere, I've experienced better.

I was here for 5 dollars appetizer and it was slightly disappointing but since i live so close I want to give this place a redemption shot.

I ordered the "jumbo" wings and the wings came looking...Ano..rexic...there were barely meat and too much skin! (dirty joke insert here!).  I also ordered an old fashioned and let's just say it was just bourbon on the rocks decorated with a orange wedge and a swimming cherry...no bitters (an important ingredient)...The waitress was not well informed of the menu and she was more robotic than R2D2!  Because I was there for the food and drink not for the waitress I gave it 2 stars and the last star was because I live down the street.

I liked the setting, the atmosphere, and its location so I will give it another chance!

I was at a birthday party at Sheffield's and as I was looking for a parking spot... I saw Matilda's.  I had been wanting to check this bar out for a long time... so it was then I decided that I would take an hour hiatus and venture over to Matilda's.  One of my girlfriends snuck out of the birthday party with me because she already developed a love for Matilda's

I really liked that Matilda's is a 23+ bar.  It definitely made a difference.  I felt like it was classier.  I enjoyed the comfortable laid back atmosphere upstairs and we quickly snuggled up into a booth.  Now, I would be totally content if there were only waiter service!  The drinks are a bit pricey here.  Martinis will run you about $12.

My friend wanted me to check out Baby Atlas, the dance club downstairs.  I was not a fan.  It was hot and crowded.  The stairs to get down there were scary... narrow and steep.  The bathrooms are also downstairs.  They are not the cleanest on a Friday night and they are really small... there will be a line!

BABY ATLAS. BABY ATLAS, BABY ATLAS. BABY ATLAS.

OOOOF Matilda. This review is solely based on the bar experience, not the food.

I enjoyed the top floor because the bartenders were pretty quick to serve us and there was plenty of seating. For Christmas, they had an upside down Christmas tree. How quirky! The drinks aren't too expensive either and are made pretty strong. I went downstairs to explore more of the place and was terrified by the staircase. As someone who has had multiple drunk injuries (concussion, skinned elbow, sprained wrist, etc.), I've become cautious about extremely steep and slippery staircases. I held onto my drink and the railing for dear life and somehow made it to the creepiest dance floor I've ever been on. The patrons were just as dank and sloppy as this basement area. Then I went to the bathroom. Holy crap.

If Matilda's bathroom was a bowl of alphabet soup, it'd be full of W.T.F. because this place was disgusting. Not only did I slide into a stall because the floor was covered in some mysterious liquid (spilled drink? pee? both?), the only working toilet had puke all over it! I just want a clean place to touch up my make up and talk smack about people (don't judge me, you do it too) Is that so much to ask for?

Matilda has become my friends' bar of choice lately, but I will do everything in my power to stay on the top floor until we can find a new place to frequent.

    In a nutshell:

    *Asshole Service
    *Cold Food
    *Awesome Ambiance and Environment

Okay, the upside down christmas trees were awesome. Kudos to you on an original idea. The tables and booths? Awesome. The windows to watch people walk by? Fun!

However, it didn't really makeup for the bitchy service. The server acted annoyed by our mere presence. And I was thinking - okay miss - you're working for tips ya heard? I've served many a day in my life and while silent service is the preferred standard, acting annoyed about a menu question certainly isn't. Get your shit together Matilda management and police that shit. It's called "serving" for a reason.

Maybe if our server had not acted like we shouldn't be asking any menu questions, and had brought our food out when it was ready ( instead of when it had clearly been sitting for awhile) it would have been a better experience.  Normally I would have asked to speak to the manager but we were on a pub crawl so with the limited time to bitch about poor service and cold food I said forget it.

We ordered the Jalepeno Flatbread minus the meat ( cause I'm a vege) and it was tasty. However, everything was brought to us barely lukewarm. In fact, the "gluttony" tray of desserts my gal pals and I shared was cold. Fondue rice crispy = bullshit.  Heat up the sauces. I'd hardly call cold raspberry high fructose corn syrup "fondue".

If you're gonna get a dessert opt for the chocolate won tons. Those were the best on the plate but I'd still give them a B+.

As far as the atmosphere and people...We went there on a Saturday night. There seemed to be a mixed, kindof older crowd when we entered around 10pm. But then, lo and behold, the younger crowd of college drinkers started shuffling in around 1045pm.

Since I live in the neighborhood I'm willing to give it a second try, but Matilda - I hope you be readin this review.

I came here on a Saturday night around 8 PM, and the place was beautifully decked out for the holidays.  I loved it immediately.  Since it was early, my friend and I snagged a booth and immediately settled into the menu.  The beer list was extensive, and even had a rare beer from Wisconsin that he rarely saw in Chicago.

Service was really great early on and only got spotty as the bar got more crowded.  The other sore spot was the trek down to the bathrooms.  Seriously, even with only three beers in my system it was tough to get down there.  And that's up with the saloon-style stall doors?  I was thankful to see that it looked like they were going to do some renovations down there.  Hopefully they make the stairs somewhat normal too.

I love that this place has an age entrance requirement of 23 and older. I think this was my first time ever seeing an establishment that has a higher age group restriction. When you walk into this bar, the people look young, but just look and act more mature.

However, our female bartender was rude to us. She did not acknowledge our presence while we were waiting for our drink. The 312 draft I ordered was luke warm. It was pretty nasty. Also, if you ordered a regular mixed drink, the portions are tiny and drinks are pricier than other bars in the area. There was a male bartender that then walked by and he was a much better bartender so that was redeeming. I guess the lesson learned here is not to order stuff on tap because it is not really cold....a faux pas for beer.

When our friends arrived, we proceeded downstairs to baby atlas. Those metal stairs are extremely steep. I would not want to be drunk and have to walk those steps. Baby Atlas downstairs was pretty fun. I drank a few PBR's. The DJ was really good at the time playing all the great Hip Hop classics like OPP, etc.

There is a mini stripper pole for those of you to like to show your assets.

I'm too old for this. Prior to last night, the last time I was here was a few years ago and my friends and I sold a half eaten burrito to 2 drunk guys. Matilda is "that" kind of place. This bar advertises as ages 23+ only, so some may be under the incorrect assumption that this is a hangout for older, civilized folk of Lakeview.

It's not.  Here are more reasons why:

-The kids hanging out here look and act no older than 21--baby faces all around.
    -The floor had puddles everywhere.
-Chivalry is dead. Dudes will push or elbow you to get by.
-There are steep-ass metal bleacher type stairs which lead you to a basement club-like dungeon (and the bathrooms).
-That god awful "Shots" song, reminiscent of Jersey Shore, was blasting in the downstairs dungeon.

This may be a great bar for University of Michigan bro types watching a game or doin' other bro type stuff, but I'll take a pass, thank you very much.

Matilda is a refreshing change of pace from the bars in the area (see Mad River, Uncle Fattys).  The place has a funky, arty vibe which is apparent as soon as you see the tables and light fixtures when you walk in.  I like how they have arranged the seating, the are a variety of large tables and cozy two-person nooks throughout the space.

I've always been impressed with the beer selection, they don't have an enormous draft list but it always has something for the picky craft beer drinker (Dogfish Head 60, Matilda).  The food is great, which surprised me the first time I ordered anything because I always thought this was more bar than restaurant.  The outside seating in the summer months is a huge plus.

Matilda's is a cute place and if I had more of a social life I would say it could easily become my 'Cheers' if you will because I live essentially across the street. The food is good- the nachos are great, the fish tacos are really good too.
The downside for this place is the service. Even if the place is dead the service is slow. Even if you sit at the bar and order food the service is slow. I'm also turned off by the babyatlas aspect.
Pick one element you want to be good at and do it well. My vote is to fix Matilda's and get rid of the kiddie club.

I had the Fancy mixed greens and a 312 beer along with the warmed goat cheese as an app. The salad was ok, I wish i asked for dressing on the side. The warmed goat cheese was delicious.

my friends had the bbq chicken wrap and fries, which was also pretty tasty.

    Pros
    -many beers on tap $5-7
    -lots of wine ~$35-45/bottle
    -decent food
    -Outdoor seating

    Cons
-they advertise as a 23 plus bar AND restaurant
-the waitress indicated if you sit outside everyone must order something.
-i hear the stairs to the bathroom are a death trap. Don't drink and step.

Matilda of Flanders was the wife of William the Conqueror and, as such, Queen consort of the Kingdom of England. She bore William nine/ten children, including two kings, William II and Henry I.

There were rumors that Matilda had been in love with the English ambassador to Flanders, a Saxon named Brihtric, who declined her advances. Whatever the truth of the matter, years later when she was acting as Regent for William in England, she used her authority to confiscate Brihtric's lands and throw him into prison, where he died.

For many years it was thought that she had some involvement in the creation of the Bayeux Tapestry (commonly called La Tapisserie de la Reine Mathilde in French), but historians no longer believe that; it seems to have been commissioned by William's half-brother Odo, Bishop of Bayeux, and made by English artists in Kent

Reputed to be 4'2" (127 cm) tall, Matilda was England's smallest queen, according to the Guinness Book of Records. However, in 1819 and 1959 Matilda's incomplete skeleton was examined in France, and her bones were measured to determine her height. The 1819 estimate was under five feet, while the 1959 estimate was 5' (152 cm) tall. A reputed height of 4' 2" (127 cm) appeared at some point after 1959 in the non-scientific literature, misrepresenting the 1959 measurement

3 stars. 1 star deducted for throwing Brihtric in prison.  1 star deducted for being short

A little bit more than just a neighborhood bar. There's two floors, top floor for more of the socializing lounge area, and downstairs for a small, chill, and crowded old school hip hop/top 40 dance area. Kinda reminds of the Cellar in SF. The stairs down are pretty steep, it was pretty funny watching these three buzzed girls come down in a group, it was like they were scaling Mt Kilimanjaro.

The vibe is relaxed and it's always good times when people are just hanging out. The crowd was mid-late 20's. early 30's since it was a Friday night, some were still dressed from work.

I gotta give them that 4th star since the bartender gave us shots on the house for being from out of town. Congrats to you and your newborn son Mr bartender.

Matilda's gets a 3 for their super slow service and a beer list that's not as impressive as their ambiance suggests, but I would still totally come back.

The food was good and the beer was good.

A big group of us had a great time on a Friday night. Drink service was solid and nothing cost too much. My gin rickeys had plenty of booze and didn't break the bank, either. It was cozy and cool, we even headed down the dangerous stairs to Baby Atlas to get our dance on.

The dance area is teeny, but it was bumpin' so we didn't mind. It was just straight up FUN. I'm looking forward to going back!

Oh Matilda, it's been awhile.  I used to frequent this fine establishment quite often when I moved to the city 10 years ago.  What I've noticed over the past 10 years is this:  chilled, laid back bars are becoming an endangered species in this city.  They've been hunted down and replaced by the ever so popular formula of:  'hey, let's put in a gazillion flat screen TVs, create a 'pub' atmosphere, offer some crappy food and call it a day!'  Something about this formula seems to attract droves of 20 somethings with raging hormones and the personalities to match.  Side note:  I walked past Uncle Fatty's on my way home and I was horrified by the scene there.  It's quite possible I caught an unwanted disease just by walking by.

I understand the allure if you're an early twenty something who has just moved to the city and you are still into that type of college-esque scene. Being in my early thirties, I'm not.  And, this is why I like Matilda and why I've always liked it...even when i was in my early 20s.

It's all about the atmosphere at this place.  There are no flat screen TVs (finally!!).  They have great beer on tap.  The seating is great.  I was pleased to find that they still have some of the funky, 50's type couches you can sit on and the jukebox actually has good music.  I don't know, something about it reminds me of the 90's, but I like that and maybe it's why I still like it - sentimentality.  I'm sure we all have places like this and this is definitely one for me.

My wife and I were there at about 9:30 on a Friday and we left at about 10:30.   The crowds were minimal so I can't comment on what others have said about it being ridiculously packed, but maybe that comes later.  All I can say is that if you're looking for an unpretentious, laid back bar to grab a few drinks and listen to some good music without being inundated by 20 different sports games going on, then check this place out.

Perhaps my review of Matilda is hasty. After all, I patronized it for the first time only four hours ago, and had only one drink before heading out to the next venue. But I care not.

I can only speak to the martinis. I'm not a lightweight by any means, but let me tell you, you'll only need one to be buzzed. My friend ordered an Appletini, I a Sunset, and I can honestly say that both of them were 90% vodka. For $11.50 a pop, you (rightfully) expect them to be loaded, but these exceeded all expectations, Unfortunately, by being so loaded, they weren't actually tasty. I can't imagine they use quality ingredients, because my martini was downright painful to finish. And I'm no wuss.

The bartender was kind enough to comp our drinks, but he ignored us for 15-20 minutes at a time, even though the bar is relatively tiny. My bottom line: If you're looking to get tipsy with one $12 drink, you've come to the right place. If you're searching for a martini that's heavy on the alcohol but still pleasant *and* won't break the bank, you should go elsewhere.

$1 fish tacos on Tuesdays! Yep, believe it.

We checked out Matilda before the Frames show at the neighboring Vic for a few beers and some grub. I assumed that tacos for $1 would be scrappy little things, but three more than filled me up! Surprisingly good, too.

The beer list is pretty impressive - of course, they feature Goose Island's 'Matilda' along with drafts by Half Acre, Point, and Bell's as well as a few bottled shining stars. Prices are a bit higher than average, but that didn't keep me away from downing two delicious Half Acre drafts.

I dig the jukebox selections and overall, this is a cozy spot to get your drink on. Get there early on Tuesdays for the taco deal - they do run out!

Oh Hai! I love fish tacos and on Tuesdays their fish tacos are a buck each. Now, $1 fish does seem like it could get a little, well, fishy- but trust me when I tell you they're good enough to be $5 fish tacos.

Okay, that doesn't sound like much of a compliment, but take into account their size and $5 would be kind of a high end price for one single fish taco--- but they're so good it'd be worth it is my point.

Quick tip- get there fast because they tend to run out of the delish $1 fish tacos early in the night... especially if I get there first and order 9 of them.

I like the interior, great for a liquid fueled date or meeting up with friends before a show at the Vic (my M.O.). The service was good but the draft beer prices were a little high, even for the city. I'm just not happy to pay $7 for a pint that costs $4 or $5 everywhere else. Don't be greedy, I know how much that keg actually cost. Kthxbai!

Oh man, I'm so glad I found this place.  A few friends and I came here for a small get-together to help support a comedy group.  I had never heard of this place and was a bit wary of the "over 23" atmosphere that the bar is trying to uphold.

We had an awesome time.  Beers were $3 (Point special), cocktails were pretty cheap (and well made) and those cheese fries were delicious.  It was like several types of cheese melted on fries with more cheese for dipping.  Mmmmm cheese fries.

Our bartender, Kayla, was super awesome.  She was super nice and fun the entire evening.  She will also take your iPod if you have a pre-made playlist and she'll put it on so you can dance the night away to your favorite music - now that's awesome!  She let us make playlists on her iPod so that we could have a crazy dance party right there in Baby Atlas.  I will definitely come back as long as Kayla is working - she was seriously one of the best bartenders ever.  We ordered a few shots and she just kind of made up some concoctions and they were delicious!  We told her that we wanted a summer-y shot and she totally made something that tasted like the beach.  We told her we wanted a sweet shot to take while listening to "Word Up" by Cameo and she totally came through.  How awesome is that?!

You can guarantee I'll be back.  I don't care what other people say about this place - the prices are great and the bartenders are super awesome.  What's not to love?

Matilda's has a pretty cool atmosphere and makes a really crummy whisky sour. It seems to attract a relatively hip but not hipper-than-thou crowd. Which for me, makes them a little bit more hip.

That said, I prefer Rose's, Matilda's harder cousin down the street.

This is a good place to go if... you're on a date with someone you don't know that well.

Amish S and I headed in on Tues to take advantage of their $1.50 fish tacos.  We also ordered bruschetta and beer so we didn't look like such tight bastards.  I asked for a glass of water as well and our waitress totally forgot.  The second time I asked, she said she was sick that day and her mind was not all there.  Fish tacos were not bad, but I wish I didn't order the bruschetta and ordered more tacos.  Yes, bruschetta is toasted but the bread was way too hard, worse than biting into biscotti or doggy biscuit.  Yeah, I can say it without exaggeration because I have tried a doggy biscuit out of a dare.  Anyway that reminds me of a funny story.

One of my friend's relatives immigrated to Chicago from Korea many years ago.  They hardly had any money and couldn't speak any English.  Since they were poor, they usually went to the grocery store to buy rice and the cheapest potted meat. Apparently, for 3 months, they were eating canned dog food until someone broke the bad news.  They couldn't read the label and thought the dog on the can was just  a company mascot, similar to Tony the Tiger.  In parallel to this story,  I have made cat food fried rice as a prank and my friend thought it was good (refer to Petsmart review).  So, the moral of the story is if you're tight on money, you can totally survive on canned dog food.

    Oh, how the mighty fall.

    Matilda, Matilda, Matilda.

My memory served me wrong. I was so nostalgic, I overlooked the lackluster food. Or maybe it just used to be better?

Stopped in tonight and enjoyed the patio. Nice option on a cool August evening in good company. Started with a Strongbow, but it came in a can. I looked like I was drinking a Rockstar Energy drink. Hmmmph. For $7, I do not want to drink out of can.

The food? Average at best. The burger with gouda was ok, but the gouda was not melty, at all. Just sort of tepid. And, I think they put water in the ketchup, and so I therefore dropped a river of if into my sort of clammy french fries. Yes, clammy. I don't know how else to describe them. Ok, yes I do. Not good.

Service was a bit standoffish, but adequate.

The real kicker was dessert. A brownie with a mini scoop of ice cream. Tasted very Betty Crocker, and was drowned in choco syrup. Not so good. I never met a brownie I didn't like, so this was pushing my limits...

Bummer, but really...this place is for drinking, so I'm only knocking off one star. I still dig the vibe and the 23+ rule on weekends. It's a nice little spot, and I'll be back. I'll just eat somewhere else before I come...

Oh, and $1 tilapia taco Tuesdays, are now $1.50. Doesn't have quite the same ring...

The atmosphere here is pretty cool- there's plenty of seating, a pool table, and I love the pass-through from the back room to the bar, so you don't have to walk all the way around to get another drink. The waitress we had was really nice and very attentive.

The really great thing was the music- I'm pretty sure it was a jukebox, but I heard Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and lots of contemporary indie music- every other song I heard was a song that I loved. The crowd was varied- not too many backwards baseball cap guys, but I was the only heavily tattooed 'hipster' present. I didn't feel out of place, though.

The only downside is the crazy steep stairs to the bathroom that are not easy to climb down in stileto heels- especially after a few drinks.

Drink prices were pretty average for the neighborhood, I guess. It's easy to spend a lot of money in here without thinking about it.

I've been back several times- there's always seating, the music is really fucking fantastic, and the staff there are really awesome. This place has started becoming my 'local'.

My experience was very positive, We went there on a Tuesday night with a $50 gift certificate and we ended up eating a lot because if you don't use the entire amount, you lose it (which is BS, -1 star). We ordered fish tacos and also a cheeseburger because I don't usually like fish tacos...well, I probably ate 3 or 4 and loved them! the best fish tacos I have ever had! We also ordered chips and salsa, nothing too crazy, and my cheeseburger came with broccoli soup...oh god that soup was gooood! too bad I was so full I couldn't enjoy my burger, I ate half of it but I was not impressed, but as I said, I was so full I probably would not have enjoyed anything.
I will definitely go back on a Tuesday to have more of those $1 fish tacos!!
