Rooftop patio, fall weather, football, wings.. Yes please!

With football here, and fall in the air, I wanted to find a place to watch the Sunday games and be able to sit outside and enjoy this beautiful fall weather we have been having.  Low and behold, MONKEY WRENCH!

This was the perfect place to do all of the above.  The upstairs deck soothed my soul as I sat and enjoyed the sun and the falling leaves, the TV's fulfilled my need for football, and the beer.. well that just made me downright happy!

We also had a few of the appetizers on the menu.  The wings are great... and I can be pretty picky about wings!

Another thing to note- the place is dog friendly! How awesome is that.

I will definitely be back.

This was my first restaurant visit since I moved to the area (Highlands) and I was impressed. Went on a laided back Sunday with great weather. We sat on the upstairs  porch which was great. All three of us ordered the Monkey Burger which came with fries. The burger was huge, cooked just right, and was delicious. Loved the thick cut fries as well. The girl serving us was nice, polite, and stopped by the table at all the right times (aka needed another beer). Definitely recommend this place as a must visit. Can't wait to go back.

Some reasons why Monkey Wrench is awesome:

- Upstairs deck is the best outdoor drinking area in town. No better place to have a drink at sunset.

- The food is excellent. There are only about 10 items on the menu but they are all delicious. The portions are huge, and if you don't believe that, order the Monkey Burger. Best burger in town, IMO.

- Fun place to party at night. Relic plays great bluegrass every Wednesday night, and there is an eclectic selection of live music most weekends.

- Great place to watch sports. We watched Louisville win the NCAA championship on the top deck and it was out of control. Plus, they show soccer. Show up for a USA soccer game and this place will be rockin.

- Beer selection is good and constantly rotating.

- There is a giant mural of Hunter S. Thompson painted on the side of the building.... 'Nuff said.
