Oh, how I enjoyed this bar -- enjoyed a late lunch with my husband on a snowy Saturday. I had the best grilled veggie wrap ever (they add a little hummus to theirs), and my husband was in Reuben heaven, giving it thumbs up. Fries were perfect.  Maggie and Bob made us feel right at home, so go see them and enjoy yourself.  Lots of local brews available. Ask to sample first, because some of them are very different. I highly recommend Mama's Little Yella Pils (out of Colorado, not Chicago).

Sometimes you forget to review the places you go all the time.

As someone who's lived in the neighborhood for the past 5 years, I've frequented Mullens more than any of the other Clark Street bars - hands down.  And while the servers & bartenders don't all necessarily greet me by name, I always receive prompt, quality service, no matter how crowded the place seems to be.

Drinks are all reasonably priced (which is more than can be said about a lot of places in this neighborhood).  And the food is REALLY good.  I mean, it's bar food, but it's the best bar food for the best price on the whole block - especially the quesadillas!

There's free improv on Monday (non-game) nights, which is awesome.  There's a lot of great young groups that play there, so it's always a good time.

Additionally, we planned a birthday party for my Mom there about a month ago and Justin (the manager), and the staff were all very good about returning calls, answering questions, negotiating rates, and overall making it easy on US to plan a big event.  So big props to them for that, because the whole thing turned out AMAZINGLY well.

In closing, it should also be mentioned that one of Mullens' most attractive traits is that, although it's a sports bar in Wrigleyville.... It is NOT douchey.  I've never had a problem here with the attitudes of wait staff or other patrons (which, AGAIN, is more than can be said about a lot of places in this neighborhood).  Love this place.  Great operation.
