We NEED this!  Great jazz venue. Beautiful environment. Great sound. Good service. Good food. A wee pricey but I think they have to be to survive.  I will continue to patronize.

Horrible place!!!!  We went there at 11:30 AM for Sunday Brunch with reservations, with our coupon.  The hostess took our reservation, knowing that we had a coupon and said that it would be welcome on that day and time.   We even offered her 2 different dates since we were using a coupon.  When we sat down, we were told that we coud not use our on that day. The manager told us that he woud call the owners and see what he could do.  We gave him the name of the Hostess who took our reservation knowing that we had a coupon.  He said that he has no authority to do anything and had to speak to the owner on the phone to see if they would honor it.  He returned after about 25 minutes saying that there was nothing that could be done.   They would not honor our coupon. There were only about 30% of the seats in the restaurant occupied.  We sat there this whole time waiting and did not have anything to eat or drink and ended up leaving.  There was another couple who was there before us who, we were told by our waitress, was having the same problem.  We ended up going nearby to another restaurant and had a lovely brunch.  We would never go back H.O.M.E.  They need to stand behind their employees and take some responsibility.  It would also be a good idea to give the person with the title of Restaurant Manager some authority.  Situations like this must be difficult for their staff.
Groupon was gracious enough to refund our money in full.  It sounded kike this was not the first complaint they had had about this place.

It is Wed. 7/3/13 6:30pm. Happy Hour? There is no valet parking. You have to find a spot in a garage next door. After entering an almost completely empty establishment. I  attempted to order several different cocktails from the in house cocktail menu only to be told that the ingredients to make the drinks are not available. The waiter was apologetic but offered nothing for the inconvenience of ordering multiple times. The bar should be fully stocked during business hours, especially happy hour. A restaurant in Beverly Hills should not be a "drink what we have available" type of venue.

Dinner was ok, dessert was ok, coffee was cold. Instead of pouring a fresh hot cup of coffee for me, the waiter nuked my old cup of coffee in the microwave. The band was supposed to start playing at 8pm. I waited until 9pm and still the band had not started playing yet. The waiter again apologized and admitted that it was a very "off night" and quite embarrassing. Whether it was an off night or not is irrelevant. I drove all the way from the Marina during rush hour, and spent over $100 for a total waste of my time. I gave up and went home.

I will be heading to Nic's for drinks and live entertainment in Beverly Hills from now on.

If you have a coupon for this place run, don't walk away!!  We went there yesterday and were turned away WITH reservations.  The place was less than 20% occupied but this huge place wanted to "leave room" for street traffic.  We even wrote down the name of the Hostess who took our reservation, and when she did we reminded her it was Father's Day.  She said that they were not full at all and it would be no problem.  Her name was Ronnie.

Upon arriving they told me that I was the firsi in our party of 2 to arrive and had me take a seat in the foyer.  My guest came out to make a phone call to see where i was (there was no phone service inside as well as the fact that the Jazz at 11:30 AM was deafening.  She saw me sitting there and asked how long I had been waiting, I told her almost 20 minutes and the guy at the front desk said " whoops, I'm sorry."  There was only 2 other parties that came in in a 20 minute period so, it wasn't as if, they were busy.

After I went to the table with my friend we got out our coupon before ordering and she said she would have to speak with the General Manager.  He came over and told us that he would have to make a phone call to the owners and see if it is OK.  On the back of the coupon I had the day date and time I called, who I spoke with and the 2 dates that I had offered her to make a reservation.  He left us waiting for quite some time and came back and said our choice id to leave and get our money back from the coupon company or they would allow us to use exactly the amount we PAID for the coupon but not the promotional offer.  No reason was given.  Obviously this "General Manager, Michael"  isn't given any authority to do anything.

After being in the restaurant (which is kind of a creepy place) for a little over an hour, we left hungry, without any of the coupon offerings.  The place would not stand behind their offering or there employees.  It is a huge rip off to try to get you to spend a lot of cash with your coupon.

Don't waste your time.  The music was very bad as well as horribly loud.  You cannot hear anything over it.

    Super Overpriced!

My food was not that good, the waiter was not great, and the chef just over-seasons his food. ALSO, the portions are small..............................

I will not be coming back here unless someone is going to pay for me!

Went for Sunday Brunch and had an awesome experience from start to finish!

Bottomless Mimosas were on point. Service was excellent. Environment was great. AND the food! 5 stars =)

We had the lobster mac n cheese, salmon tartar, crab benedict, and the seafood pasta. ALL of which I would highly recommend to any foodie seeking variety and great flavors.

AND YES, the YOLK in my crab benedict was RUNNY AND PERFECT.

The ambiance was striking from the moment we walked in.  The host/owner acted as if he was expecting us and immediately welcomed us " HOME."   It was a great first impression.  A sultry jazz singer and band were playing live on the small and intimate stage.  We were seated at a nicely appointed booth with a white table clothes on the table, fresh flowers and candles.  Jay, our server soon came around.  He wasn't super friendly at first, immediately telling us the corkage fee was $35 on the bottle of wine we brought to be servee, as if that would deter us.  But soon he warmed up to us and became an amazing server!   The Pear and Brie salad was refreshing, and the garlic hummus appetizer made you want to place another order.  The seafood pasta was delectable.  We simply had a wonderful time.  We can't wait to go back.  Although HOME is located in Beverly Hills, the staff and overall vibe make you feel more like you were at your favorite restaurant near home.  We loved it!!!  Well worth every penny!   :-)

I went to H.O.M.E. for Mothers Day Brunch. I heard about the restaurant from people who knew the chef. The food was good, but it was extremely overpriced. The women on the phone told me when I made the reservation the brunch was going to be $54 including tax and tip. When the bill came it was $65 including tax and tip. She also told me on the phone for kids (3 year old) there would be no charge. The waiter shared it was going to be $20 for kids. My son who is 3 was allergic to all of the seafood items and egg items. To pay $20 for mac and cheese was beyond me. Luckily we had a great waiter who took some of the charges off the bill, because he admitted that the receptionist informed people a lot of different price quotes. The music was great, but very loud. The food tasted good, but I have had better at a cheaper price. The Four Seasons Brunch where I usually go is $95 and free for kids and is a full service buffet with the best of the best cuisine. I even looked at there regular menu and could not believe the prices. I will probably not return or recommend. If I go it will just be for drinks. I tried to support it, but not impressed.

I have to admit that I was a little scared to try this place because all of the other reviews were so bad, but my cousin from out of town had heard about it somehow and really wanted to go. When we arrived the restaurant was like a ghost town, there were no more than about six other rotating patrons during our visit and several seemed to be friends of the band. Speaking of the band, there is apparently live jazz every night. Seeing as the restaurant was so empty it was almost like having a private concert!

Music is 70% of the ambience. The restaurant is rather austere and is laid out like dinner theater which is nice when full but just expansive when empty.

The wine (I had a house red) and the food (I ordered Jidori Chicken and the sticky rice app) were both seasoned well and cooked just right. Both items were drenched in thick, sweet sauces with strong hints of asian flavorings that were tasty, if abundant, without being earth-shatteringly amazing.

In the interest of full disclosure, I was not a fan of the specialty drinks the other members of my party ordered and let me taste. Also I think that the price is a little steep but then again I'm a little poor (lol). Also they do charge some sort of "live entertainment fee" but I think they have listened to some of the other complaints and reduced it to $5 (at least during week nights).

All in all, I think that I would return perhaps to bring a date or a business lunch here. I did happen to walk past midday a few days later and there was a respectable lunch crowd with many patrons in suits. They also have a murder mystery event every month and I told my mom about and she is really interested to try.

I have to say, I had one of the best meals I've ever had.

The place is huge and beautifully decorated. There is live entertainment and last night Sylvia Brooks and her 6-piece band were on point singing standards, jazz, etc. We loved it. There is only a $5 entertainment fee per person which to me is a bargain.

The food...I knew I was going to be happy when the rosemary bread rolls were served, hot and delicious. The menu is very specific and there are select few choices. But I have to say everything we ordered was excellent.

Chilean Sea Bass with Lobster Mashed Potatoes - MELT in YOUR MOUTH! The fish was flaky, buttery, grilled to perfection and the potatoes were Amazing. We enjoyed 3 varieties of creme brulee, bread pudding and a tray of delicious dark chocolates - PB&J, marshmallow, etc. All excellent

My family ordered the Jhdoori Chicken, Steak & Lobster, the Cesar salad, the Pear salad and Fillet Skewers and all 6 of us liked everything. We loved it so much we are going back for brunch next weekend for Mother's Day. Sorry Flemming's!

The service was pretty good, a few little things here and there, but nothing that would keep me from giving it 5 stars. Its a fairly new place, so I expect things won't be perfect just yet. However, the live entertainment, the quality of the food, close proximity to a BH parking structure for 5 bucks or valet for $8, you really can't go wrong. There was a very light crowd last night, but I'm hoping that more and more people discover this gem right under their noses.

Its a bit pricey so it makes for a nice spot for a special celebration or occasion. All in all, a truly wonderful experience.

    H.O.M.E. is fantastic.
Let me just say that the decor is stunning, they definitely pay attention to detail.
For a live music venue, sometimes you expect the food to be just adequate, but this is not the case at home.
Everything I have tried is INCREDIBLE. Even if they didn't have live music, I would come here for the food alone. Being a huge truffle mac and cheese fan, I have to say that Home has the best truffle mac and cheese I have ever had. I have also had the steak, the jidori chicken, and an array of appetizers. All were top notch. The steak skewer appetizers melt in your mouth, the pita bread with different dips are unlike anything I have ever had. The pita bread is fluffed and warm, with a touch of cripsyness, and dare I say slightly stuffed with a drizzle of cheese? I can't say 100% what is different about them, but trust me, you haven't had anything like it.

My experience with the service was actually amazing. They were very attentive and on top of things. The space itself would be a great venue for private parties, etc.

The best part is that they do have live music almost every night, which is incredible for Beverly hills, and LA in general. I have been in 3 times and the music was beyond great each time.

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. Never, ever, ever, ever coming back here!

I showed up a couple Sundays ago with a coupon from Gilt City which I thought was a pretty spankin' good deal.  At first all seemed on track for a fantastic Sunday funday--fancypants elegant ambiance, live jazz music, friendly service and of course - bottomless, free-flowing mimosas.

And then, holy sh!t, did it go downhill.  The service was friendly but incompetent.  My friend got food poisoning from their crab benedict, which, by the way, hi, poached eggs are supposed to have a delicious, sunny-yellow, RUNNY yolk, NOT pretty much hard-boiled.  HARD boiled.  Not even soft boiled.  Soft boiled eggs ALSO have a deliciously runny yolk and would be vastly superior to the gelatinous egg white blob with a FIRM yolk inside. Who likes firm yolks.. NO ONE because yolks are perfect when they're runny, and disappointing and dream-killing when they're not.  I got the filet and eggs... The filet was okay.  Tiny and overly salty.  They brought out scrambled eggs at first when I asked for sunny side up.  By the way, apparently, a Beverly Hills restaurant can eff up scrambled eggs, since we got a weirdly egg-like yellow lump of eggs, instead of a lovely, fluffy scrambled mass.

As the cherry on top, they overcharged us on our bill - we had an extra person and the Gilt coupon only accommodates for two.  We should have only been charged an extra entree but we got charged for an entire brunch (entree, starter and champagne) which was EXPENSIVE. WHO CAN AFFORD TO EAT THIS CRAPPY FOOD FOR THIS MUCH MONEY?

Not I, that's who - we went over to k-town (thank you, Asian food) and feasted after to get the bad taste out ofour mouth.

If you want a mimosa fix - SKIP THE AMBIANCE and head over to a more affordable option (i.e. Overland Cafe in Culver City, pretty much anywhere in West Hollywood) because this place is NOT WORTH your hard-earned dolla billz.

this was my first time at HOME and overall  i enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

the only thing that really sucked was the service.

I came here with my bf because of a groupon deal we purchased.
( groupon for the sunday jazz brunch deal)

the deal was for 2 entres, 2 starters, 2 pastries, and bottomless mimosas.

the food was surprisingly delicious and the mimosas were amazing.. and so was the jazz band that was playing...

HOWEVER the reasons I was annoyed and didnt give this place a 5 star was because of the following:

    1. service was super slow... it took about 10 min to even get a server to our table afer being seated

    2. they messed up one of our orders, my bf ordered the filet and eggs ~~ and the eggs to be sunny side up.. but they came scrambled... and when they took it back it took another 15 - 20 min to get food back out

    3. when we got our entres, the deal was suppose to include 2 pastries with our meal, when i asked the server about them  he said that its served  at the END to be like a  "dessert"--- so after our meal i asked for them again .. n then he tells me that its additonal $10.... so i had to reread my groupon deal and then tell the guy that its suppose to come with the meal.. after he read it .. he then asks " oh it didnt come with your meal?-- ill get them for you now".. um really? why did  he act so SHOCKED how we didnt get them yet when he first said it comess at the end.. and when i asked the 2nd time he said it costs additional and when i mentioned it a 3rd time he remembers it comes with the meal.. ( at this point i was extremely ANNOYED)

    4. we asked for ketchup and they " ran out"--- ok what place runs out of ketchup?

    5. i was going to tip 20% but then thought about the service in general and so i considered giving less just to prove a point to the server that he was doing a really bad job.. but GUESS WHAT... GRATUITY is ADDED to your bill even if its 2 people. They added 20% automatically which was pretty lame.... im not a stingy tipper but i wanted the choice based on service how much i wanted to give..

in all this would have been a better experience if they just hired more staff or trained their staff better.

Visited this wonderful restaurant for the first time with a girl friend and we both decided that this was a wonderful, night out. The service was impeccable, the food to simple die for, and the entertainment was the icing on the cake. Oh, the bartender made the best drinks (be careful you might want to drink those delicious cocktails all night) Can't wait to go back. I will try the Sunday brunch real soon.

Totally zoned out and forgot to talk about my HOME experince. We were celebrating a b-day so we ordered several dishes and shared the following: Chopped Veggie Salad-delicious,Caesar-safe & tasty. Aspargus & mushroom-good.Pork Belly-surprisingly good. Mac & Cheese-yummy!! Short Ribs-hands down the absolute BEST! Tender, tendere, tender!!! Chilean sea bass-good but the portion was small.Pork Chop-decent. A plus was the Down Home Combo. Nice portion. The service was good, the drinks were decent. The bread-they should change it. I'm a bread eater and i opted for only one roll -it just lacked taste but the pesto helped a bit. The band was great...they truly loved East LA and had us chanting the same. They had cds avaiable and we purchased some. The place is hugh. It's perfect for parties, and functions. There's two ptions for parking; valet or the lot that is  a door or two away. Chef Shawn passed by our table so we definitely told him we'd be back for those RIBS!!!

YELP INSIDER TIP FROM DOREEN (AKA AZN PERSUASION):  Instead of valeting your car, drive another 5 feet and you will see $5 parking at a public structure til it closes at midnight (vs paying $8 for valet when the restaurant closes at 11pm).  You can ask to sit where it isn't too loud.

    *****

I bought a groupon type thing to go to this place for dinner, otherwise they charge $10 just to get in for the entertainment/venue fee.  I didn't read the Yelp reviews before buying, but did look through the pictures and overall star rating of the place.  However, before I went, I read all the reviews to figure out what to order and was freaking out how badly this place was rated.  I braced my Boo on our date possibly being REALLY bad.  And when we showed up, we were really skeptical for the first half hour.  Yes, it is EMPTY.  If they don't turn it around, they WILL go out of business.  I went on a Friday night at 730pm and stayed til it closed. We ordered the caesar salad, beet salad, chicken, salmon, raspberry lemon mousse, and creme brulee.  All the food was actually really good - organic chicken, wild caught Alaskan salmon, the caesar salad was very garlicky (yum), and all the food was just really good.  We were very surprised.  For the food being so good, the free bread they give out is crap.  It was warm and soft and had poppy seeds in it , but little flavor.  But since it's just bread, who really cares...  We also had ginger beer, which is a soda.  The Ed Jones Quartest was there and they were good too. They also automatically include tip of 20%, not sure why. I would not mind coming back and my Boo said he would bring out of town guests here too.  Service was good, attentive, and overall a good experience!  Phew!

Went to the happy hour to introduce a writer client of mine to a manager.  I was surprised to see how amazingly huge this place is.  Also amazed to see that at 6:30 on a Tuesday night, we were the only people in the place.  That being said, the service was actually very slow.  It was bizarre how long it took to get menus, let alone drinks and food.  It actually took so long that they did comp us dessert, which was nice of them, and we didn't even ask them to.  When the food did come, it was mediocre at best.  Not bad, not overwhelmingly great.  Then the jazz band started playing.  While they were certainly good, it actually seemed a bit too loud/intrusive with so few people in the place, and we were seated closer to the bar area and further from the band.  Music like that should be somewhat background if you're not at a concert.

I am going to check out H.O.M.E for brunch soon and will happily upgrade my review if possible, because hey, we all can't bring our "A" game every night, and I do have high hopes for H.O.M.E to be a place I want to return to.

Also, if you have a happy hour menu (which they do), then list everything you have for happy hour.  Don't make me ask if you have any wine on the happy hour menu when you do.  Why hide it?

I recently found myself here because my girlfriend had a cool coupon for the place where we got two appetizers, two entree, and bottomless mimosas for $30 a person during brunch, which I believe was quite the steal. So, I feel I have to preface my review with that. I saw several reviews of mediocre food, and bad service, but to be quite honest I did not experience that at all! Maybe brunch is better than dinner?

The place itself was not exactly what I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it. It's very large and kind of old and swanky people, but maybe that makes sense since it's a live jazz place? I was fine with it, but for some reason did expect something a bit younger and hipper. We sat in the back corner of the main floor which was good because the music was very good, but very loud. Our server was very attentive, answered all our questions, gave her recommendations, and most importantly kept our mimosas full the entire time!

To eat we started off with the crepe asparagus and a baby beets. For entrees my friend had the salmon salad and I had the tacos. All of it was really good! There was literally nothing I didn't like. Sure, I've had more creative and technical meals, but considering the price and quality, this was excellent!

Next goal, to come back when the Clippers are here. Thanks H.O.M.E. for an excellent brunch!

I was extremely impressed with the chic ambiance of this fabulous restaurant. Not only is it in the heart of Beverly Hills but the interior is very reminiscent of New York and Chicago. The entertainment was unbelievable, they feature live jazz artists who are very talented. Horrible. Will never go back. Food took forever and I wasn't going to tip ANYTHING and they added on 20%!!!!! For two people, they added 20% and gave me no option. Crooks. Waitstaff is nowhere to be seen. Food is just okay. They put a plate of food in front of me (fruit salad) that wasn't mine. I ate some of it and asked to have it boxed up, they took it to box it up, and came back and said, oh, that wasn't yours. I said, but I ate some of it, what did you do with it? They said they threw it out. Good luck!

Home's name, House of Music and Entertainment, belies its destination dinner attraction by emphasizing its performance aspect but that may be a plus because the food is that good.  A sweeping and attractive space, on the site of the old Mandarin Restaurant to name a few, Home achieves that rare combination of a comfortable cabaret, featuring delicious fare.  The room is beautifully appointed while the early jazz set that started at 7:30pm on a recent Tuesday evening was smart and sassy.

But chef Shawn Davis's cooking may be the real reason to go for now.  It's an ambitious menu, tackling all the major food groups, often with dazzling flavor combinations.  One of the more simple items, a roasted Berkshire pork chop with marshmellow glazed sweet  potato fries made us both feel at home.

Home has a distinctive and dramatic beverage program with a perfect vantage point of both the stage and dining room.  Don't be surprised to find me next stopping by the bar, for salmon tartare and a beef slider while winding down a long day at the office to some cool jazz.

As with all new restaurants, service is evolving; but still attentive and hospitable.  Moderate to expensive with nice options.

H.O.M.E. has captured the essence of class of the 1940's nostalgia of a true Super Jazz Dinner Club, with fine dining, fine jazz and the ambiance of a beautiful setting, designed to take your breath away and make you feel like a Star.  You can feel the Love of detail from the moment you walk in the door, when greeted by William the Host.  Our waitress and serving staff were very warm and personal.  The food & presentation by Chef Shawn Davis was divine, sexy and delicious.  I had the Chilean Sea Bass; it was the best I have ever had.  The Colossal Jumbo Shrimp with Curry Sauce were delectable, and the size of a lobster tail.  My husband had the Short Ribs; they were tender, juicy and full of flavor.  Executive Chef Shawn Davis has put his Passion, Expertise Culinary Skills and Love of Fine Dining into H.O.M.E.  We were blessed to have celebrated 17 years of marriage, December 2nd and blessed to have an amazing dining experience.

I will be clicking my heels and closing my eyes like Dorothy, saying until the next time, "I wish I was HOME, I wish I was HOME, I wish I was HOME" ..... I can't wait to go back, for more.....

FYI, they have a great Happy Hour from 4:00-7:00 PM and Live Jazz @ 7:00 PM every night.

H.O.M.E opened the weekend before Thanksgiving to the gentle buzz of iPhones vibrating throughout the 310 as Urban Daddy stirred up the usual hype around town. Tickling our tender hearts this time with tales of steaks and live music in Beverly Hills I envisioned a proper supper club experience alongside some extra smooth jazz. In my mind I already saw the glint of a steak knife gleaming in the candle light and went right ahead and booked my reservation. Executive chef Shawn Davis of Perch in Downtown LA created the menu, and I always liked that place for a rooftop brunch on the weekends. Things were looking good.

Here in BH, we take great pride in where we choose to devour our steak dinners. Ask anyone here with a wallet and an appetite for red meat. Whether it be Commes des Garcons or Goyard, that beautifully crafted leather flips open to shell out cash without hesitation, because people are happy to pay for enjoyable dining experiences. I've seen tips land on the table with the ease and grace of ten leaping ballerinas, toes pointed into arabesque. We have reached the pinnacle of steakhouse heaven here, all within a magnificent one mile radius, thanks to establishments like Mastro's and Cut. Which means that H.O.M.E will have to be truly exceptional to stand a chance among these greats.

Walking into the restaurant, I knew I had been misled. Too many tables were crammed into the dining area and it was clear to me that the management had no clue what to do with the space. Ambience is crucial to the success of a jazz club or a steak house. H.O.M.E has about as much style as a low budget cruise liner's dining room. Tacky banquettes lined in faux satin give off a sheen that reminds you too much of that prom dress you wish you had never worn. The walls are stark and devoid of any fixtures or semblance of art. There is nothing in the space that emphasizes the exposed brick at the entrance, which is the only notable element of style. At the far end of the restaurant is a large stage covered in instruments, and within minutes about 8 musicians took the stage. They played so loud that we couldn't hear each other or our waitress. We asked if there was anything that could be done about the noise, and our bewildered waitress just looked at us in confusion. The dinner was so unpleasantly loud that we hurried through our entrees and skipped dessert just to get out of there. At the end of the meal, there was an additional $20 per person "entertainment fee" included on the bill which came as a complete surprise. We made our reservations through OpenTable and we were never notified about this absurd fee. When we requested the fee be waived, we were denied our request.

As for the food, we ordered the filets, which were two 4oz medallions topped with porcini ravioli in a red wine reduction. The filets were tender but there was no sear or crust to the meat. These were nothing like the petite filet at Mastro's and the ravioli were chewy with a gummy texture to them, and so this dish was a double disappointment.

Next was the rabbit ravioli which also did not live up to my expectations. The rabbit was tough and tasted gamey. The lobster lavender sauce was in fact a portion of lobster in the center of the plate. The lobster was warm and buttery, but I honestly do not see these flavor profiles doing anything for each other. Another miss.

The Sea Bass was excellent. Flaky and moist on a bed of artichoke hearts and warm risotto, the dish was buttery with the faintest hint of citrus from the grapefruit segments on top.

All in all, this was an awful experience and I have no inclination to return. The cocktails were of the glow in the dark variety, and tasted like jolly ranchers or break fluid. There was no need to stay another minute after the food arrived. We hurried through our meal and got out of H.O.M.E as quickly as possible, wishing we had all simply stayed home.

    This H.O.M.E. is Beautiful!

    Must Try:
Spicy Thai-Chili Filet of Beef Skewer
Scallop and Skuna Bay Salmon Tartar
Warm Beet and Goat Cheese Salad (not for everyone tho)
    Rabbit and Porcini Ravioli (stupendous)
    Crab and Brie Grilled Cheese

Will this beauty survive the streets of Beverly Hills!?! No one knows, but I hope so.

I haven't had a taste of their live Jazz yet but will be doing so very soon.

    xx
