Schoenberg Hall - Ucla

I saw Christina Wong's Going Green The Wong Way at this theater. Schoenberg Hall is a big open theater space with about 500 or so seats. The acoustics were great, it seems like it would be a solid music venue. The student staff working that evening were friendly and efficient. Note: parking was pricey. Christina Wong would want you to take the bus anyway.

I've had a class in the main hall here, and it was one of the best lectures I've ever taken.  The sound is great and the stage is just far enough without being too far.

This review, however, will highlight Jan Popper Theater, which resides within Schoenberg and houses many of LCC Theatre Company's quarterly shows.  As a former company member and as a frequent audience member, Jan Popper is truly a wonderful venue.  The theater is just big and just small enough to make the audience feel cozy yet grandiose.

Of the theater venues at UCLA that are not part of TFT, this one is great for what it is.  There are a variety of lighting choices, giving small shows the option to get creative.  And the venue's sound and projection capabilities (though simple) do the trick!

As an audience member, aim to arrive 15 minutes before your show starts in order to find parking and get a seat.  Park in Lot 2 and pay at the drive by parking kiosk (not the pay-by-space machines) to get the most for your buck.  They only sell all-day passes, but it's worth it to not have to worry about walking all the way back to the parking lot to add more time to your space.

Come 15 mins early to symphony concerts to find the building and parking.
