Ordered the Pandoras Box pizza tonight and boy was it terrible! Almost indelible, made me think twice about ever eating pizza again and that's like a meat eater turning vegan.
I know it's expensive but for that price you expect something good. There was so much tomato sauce that you couldn't taste anything else. The crust was like chewing cardboard but not as much fun.
What happened? Did they change owners or something? I remember it used to be really good.
Hot damn, that was a good pizza.
This is a short review as I ordered online and have only been in the store once for an unrelated matter, but it bears repeating. I ordered an extra-large meat-filled pizza called Everest and decided it needed even more dead animal, so I tossed an extra helping of bacon on top. It was pretty pricy at almost 30$ for the pie, though I'm sure half of the cost was in paying for the delivery man's gym membership so he could lift the thing to my doorstep.
As he lifted it out of the bag, I heard him audibly wince at the sheer heft of the monster. I laughed and then nearly fell over as he handed me the 10 lb dumbbell made of rendered animal flesh.
I dragged the bounty inside and upon opening the lid to my unsuspecting meal, I surveyed the pizza, taking account of its five meat types and several cheeses, and slowly and carefully dissected one of its eight pieces for consumption.
The steam loftily floated upwards and as the effluvia entered my nostrils, my eyes widened, a bead of sweat rolled down my cheek -- or was it a tear? -- and I unleashed an assault onto the slice.
Joy streamed into my veins as taste exploded in each crevasse of my tongue, whipping the flavors into sparks of exuberance as I hungrily devoured the very essence of pizza.
As nothing remained but the still warm crumbs from the remains, I unleashed a raw, visceral roar reserved for the most monumental of trophy kills, my appetite would be sated that day.
So yeah, it's a pretty good pizza.
It's funny how excellent customer service can make your 3 stars to 4 and turn you into a fan!
I've been passing this place for months... and finally had a chance to try it .... solely because, my fave pizza spot is only 1 street over (refer to 800 degree review)..
But, the hubby isn't all into the fancy schmancy stuff that 800 has to offer, and extreme pizza is more his style... the basics - pizza, beer, good soda. Â
$13 for lunch - 2 slices of pizza (technically it can be 4 because their slices are HUGE!) half a dozen wings and a soda. Â I had the Pandora slice which was very good and hubby had the pepperoni... overall I'd say 3 stars...
But their sandwiches and happy hour are definitely something to return for!!
As far as my earlier comment about the customer service, I wanted to point out that 3 star food can easily become a 4 star rating when you have excellent customer service! The person at the front counter was very engaging, and helpful. Â
I thought it was just us, but, the other customers after us, he totally went out of his way each time to make a connection with each one!
I work in an industry that is driven by customer service. Â
So, when I experience excellent customer service in other industries, I appreciate it very much, and take note of it! Â
Nice job management, hire more employees just like your westwood lunch crew on 5/1/2013!
