Good, quality pizza and great beer. Sarah (?) was our server and was fantastic. Will definitely be back

I thought I'd been missing Old Chicago, because it had been a few years, but the pizza wasn't as good as I remember. Perhaps my tastes have changed, but there is much better pizza for better prices in the area.

The service was very good, but the pizza was below average. I don't like burned pizza, and the cheese tasted like it belonged on a Totino's. If Totino's or Jeno's is a 'D', then this was a C. Even late night would have been a low grade.

DW and I had dinner here as we were in the area.  I thought things weren't going to go well when we were seated and was about 3 or 4 minutes and no one came over to greet us and get our drink order.  This was even though we were two table away from the POS system and I made contact with several servers.  The manager passed by and I hollered at him for help and let him know we hadn't been waited on yet.  He apologized and took our drink orders.  Our server came over just as the manager came back with our drinks.  After that our server was on top of things making sure our drinks were full and getting our food out quickly.  We started off with the artichoke dip which was very good.  They serve it with garlic bread and sliced veggies, such as carrots, cucumbers, celery, red & green bell peppers.  It was a nice change from most places which serve tortilla chips with their dip.  DW had a burger and fries.  I had the Chicago 7 deep dish.  Not really a true Chicago deep dish, but more like a pan pizza.  It was very tasty though.  The wife said her burger and fries were also tasty.  Prices are in order with most other places.  Overall not a bad place to try.

Came here the other night after a meeting with some of the folks from the group.  I hadn't tried Old Chicago before, even though I've driven past it umpteen times.

I ordered a small 8" classic pizza, with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and other stuff.  It was reasonably priced at $10.95.  I got the thick crust version.  It was perfectly acceptable but I have to agree with Kay L. that it didn't have real wow factor.  The friends I was with split a larger pizza with veggie toppings and said it was good, and another person ordered one of the salads and seemed to enjoy it.

Plusses are that Old Chicago is open late, the prices are reasonable, and our server was excellent -- informed and attentive.  If the pizza had a little more zing Old Chicago would easily earn a fourth star from me.

I've been trying really hard for this place to get back in good graces with me and I've come to settle on me being in the middle.

Positives: Servers (most), bartenders, bar manager Jaime. Friendly people that make you feel like you are living an episode of Cheers (honestly the main reason I come here). The food is good. The mini tour parties are fun. I have completed enough tours for a mug so I feel like why should I stop now lol.

The bad: the General Manager is rude and unfriendly...actually offensive. The things he's said to my friend, my family, and me would blow your mind. The price, beers on average are about $4.50 a piece. Pretty steep when there's plenty of places cheaper.  Food...its good but not only is it expensive but as soon as you find something you like, menu changes and its gone. Big cookie-sigh. I used to love it but now they put oatmeal (yes, oatmeal) in it so it pretty much tastes like...well...oats. Ever since this new gm came, I've been told I can only have credit for the actual beers I drink...until another VIP member reminded me we can drink whatever we want and get credit...one of the only benefits from doing 10 tours. Realizing how many beers I've missed out on makes me a little irritated to say the least.

That all being said-I keep coming back. There's too many good things and people to let the negatives run me or some of the other regulars off...yet

Decent pizza, but no real wow factor.  It's really more of a thick-crust style rather than a true deep-dish.  I like the individual lunch-sized pizzas, and the beer selection is good.  The bar is roomy, with lots of bigscreen TVs.  It's a fun place to come with a group, but this shouldn't be your destination for the best pizza in JoCo.

Just bar food and high priced. Not good service! Doesn't get my money!

Ate here for the first time recently and it was pretty darn good! I thought the pepperoni rolls had a little bit of a kick to them but the chicago 7 pizza was delicious. I would definitely eat here again.

Ok, so I've been here a few times, mostly late at night when everything else is closed.  The unfortunate nature of having your honey work late and come over hungry - with no food in the fridge ready for cooking.

Anyway, all the times we've been have been around or after 10:30 and surprisingly (or maybe not) the bar wasn't crowded and was in fact quite comfortably filled - not too many people to be unbearable and not empty enough to question quality.  And since we've been a few times, figured I was beyond due for a review.

Every time we've been we've sat at the bar where service was quite good - in some cases quite excellent.  The bartenders are quite excellent here as well - I'm incredibly picky when it comes to dirty martinis and each and every time I've ordered one here, they are perfect.  As far as food goes, fairly good for a bar/restaurant and for the time of night we are ordering.  The pizzas, fries, nachos, and even sandwiches can be measured as slightly above average.

Overall a fun and laid back environment.  There was one night where an old friend/co-worker/something of my guy's was there and we mingled.  A fun place when you aren't looking for a crowded bar and are in the mood for a more low key Friday or Saturday night out.

Authentic Chicago-style? Hardly. Yummy deep dish? Yup.

The pizza is good, the beer selection is great, and the menu is diverse enough to please anyone.

There's a large, full-service bar room with loads of seating and TVs, which is great for game watching. Then there is the restaurant side. My favorite part of the restaurant side is that it's the ultimate family-friendly eatery. It's large, and never super busy, and there are always kids. I love coming here to eat with my family, because I never have to feel the need to micro-manage my child's behavior. Don't get me wrong; it's not a place to take a child and let them go wild. I'm just saying I feel comfortable with the young humans and their lack of self-control, compared to at other busier, nicer restaurants.

I hadn't been to Old Chicago Pizza in years but luckily I started working a few miles from one.  I love their lunch menu that offers a side salad and pizza for under $10.  We are easily in and out in less than an hour and that includes driving from 110th Street.  Plus they have a frequent visitor card.

Love the Chicago pizza! Best deal and feeds 4 ha! But the waitress was Not attentive and we ordered two of the same beers and one was totally a different color and was the scraps from the draft, and she only offered an apology for the flatness, overall great food but the wait staff was well below par.

Mm, deep fried everything. The fried pickles were fun, and surprisingly amazing, they felt like something I would get at a festival. The fish and chips were also fantastic. I loved the service, it was prompt and the food was brought out piping hot. Everyone was friendly and easygoing, they even gave us a gift card for our next visit when they found out that we were new to the state. I will definitely go again.

Also, my kingdom for their artichoke dip recipe.

I used to eat at Old Chicago fairly regularly back in college (5-6yrs ago) but then just kind of stopped going (no real idea why). Well the other day my girlfriend and I were in the neighborhood and stopped in for a late lunch. We chose to sit in the bar which had maybe 1 or 2 other seated tables. Our server was fairly attentive but seemed a little distracted. I had a stromboli and it was delicious but a bit greasy and the fries were kind of cold. girlfriend had a calzone and she loved it. The beer was more overpriced than I remember ($4 for a pint). In my memories Old Chicago was better but I was also drinking a lot more during the time in my life that I was there more often. So who knows. Anyway...wouldn't hesitate to go to OC again but I wouldn't go out of my

Not bad, decent menu of burgers and pizza. That's the best I can say for the pizza, decent. I have had way better Chicago style pizza at other places.

I went here for lunch this week and sat in the bar area.  The service was excellent, but the lasagna was poor.  It was pizza ingredients thrown over lasagna noodles.  I have had better frozen lasganas.  This was one entree and others may be better.  I will try this place again sometime to see if this is true.

A steady great product and a huge selection of beer.  I have been a fan of Old Chicago Pizza for a while.  My friend and I are on the "Hall of Foam" from several years back.  Unfortunately the location we made the "Hall" no longer exists.  We think our wall should have been transferred to an existing location.  If you do a tour, you will get free premium gifts along the way.  I think you should earn them on ever tour personally.

They do limit the number of beers you can count on a visit.  Otherwise there would be some clown who would try to drink 110 beers in a day.  There are a couple of guys from my house in college who I think could still drink 110 beers in a day and be unphased.  (Kids this is not recommended, binge drinking is unhealthy drinking)

Old Chicago does a great job of rotating different beer experiences through their store.  There is always a selection of local micro-brews and a steady flow of selections from breweries all around the world.  Our favorite is the stuffed pizza.  Yummy!  Of course in my opinion pizza is one of the perfect foods.  Their sauce is spicy and announces its presence which is a great aspect of a good pizza.  The salad is a great add on with the Pizza.  We haven't really had a bad pizza yet at Old Chicago and have tried many of them on the menu.

The Old Chicago crew is friendly.  We have yet to have a bad experience.  The only disaster we had was met with immediate correction by management and our server.  It was a big spill.  Accidents happen, and they handled it well.

This is a great spot for friends, groups and families.   They have dining and bar seating.   There are a large selection of TV programs usually playing.  Lastly, they have trivia going on the national trivia TV network.

Have fun, Have a Beer, Eat some Pizza!  At Old Chicago you will have a good time.

I'd give Old Chicago four and a half stars overall.

Love the build your own calzone! I'm obsessed. I have to come here everytime I'm visiting Overland Park. Great price, great food, great atmosphere. Their pizzas are good, the pepperoni rolls are so cool!

Try the Hawaiian Pizza. Sweetest pizza I have had.  The put a special sweet sauce the tastes great.  Nice atmosphere! However I went during NBA Finals so I imagine the crowd was greater.  It's fun to play the free screen game when you're watching and eating.

For what it is, it was fine, but I would rather not waste time or money dining there. With so many excellent and local eateries in KC, I would just pick somewhere else, but I am an anti-chain restaurant person. So if you like chains then you'll probably be happy with this place.

The positives: Our waiter was nice, but he did disappear at times. However, we were eating with a somewhat sassy kid diner, and he was very kind/good with her which was impressive (as I wouldn't have had the same patience!). So it appears to be a family friendly place. The beer selection was pretty good. I like that they offer beer flights, and they have *some* variety on their taps. Not a crazy amount, but a great variety for a chain restaurant. Hats off on that!

The less than positive: The food was fine. Our out-of-town guests, who prefer chain eating seemed to really enjoy their food. We (anti-chain group) thought things were "just fine" until they brought out our "Chicago deep dish pizza." My husband and I go to Chicago a lot, and we always work in a deep dish pizza stop. So the only thing we were excited about in eating at OC was the deep dish. When ours came to the table, I honestly almost sent it back b/c I thought it was the wrong order ("Oh we ordered the deep dish"..."This IS the deep dish"). It was simply pizza with a thick crust. WTH. If you call it Chicago deep dish then I expect a 2-3 inch thick pizza pie packed with sauce, cheese, and toppings. I understand if that's not possible, but don't call your dish something it ain't!

Come here regularly for a weekly meeting in the back room which I guess in available for private hire pretty widely. Love the Pepperoni Rolls here - they are down as an appetizer but more than enough for a lunch in their own right.

Service is generally very good. I've tried the pizza here and the lunch sized pizzas were not the best in my opinion, a little dry. Maybe the full sized pizza is better. They seem to have a problem in the spring time there with an unpleasant smell at the back of the restaurant. Apparently it happens most years and was noticeable for a couple of weeks although now seems to have cleared.

They have wi-fi too so it you want to eat and work you can! Looks like a good beer selection although, visiting for a working lunch, I have not had a chance to sample them!

Yum Yum Yum. Love the pizza. Love the new small snacks menu. Had the prosciutto and shrimp pasta last night, super delish. Not too heavy, some peas and tomatoes tossed in to make me feel a little healthy. The Mediterranean small salad was just what I was craving while I waited for my to-go pizza (ok, I'll admit, it was the night before the pasta). It was just so good I had to come back right away. And now I keep thinking about the Fried Mac and Cheese balls. Already ready to go back! Make sure you sit at the bar, If you missed the game, the bartender knows all about it.

Over the last few years I have become increasingly more disappointed in the service and quality of this particular branch of Old Chicago. Serving staff that messes up simple orders on a repeated basis, servers that can't handle a heavy night, and increasing prices all combine to make for an un-enjoyable experience.

The steak and shrimp were so bad that I sent it back and left. Gets 2 stars because the server was nice about it, and told me that if he was the one who had taken my order (I ordered from the bartender), he would've recommended against it. I will say that the pizza-like items on the menu (and around me in the restaurant), did look appetizing, just wasn't in the mood for.

This place has great food and an awesome sports bar that's a separate room from the rest of the restaurant.  It's a wonderful place to watch any game.**

The pizza isn't really a true Chicago deep dish, but it's still a decent pie.  The calzones are also very good too.  I really enjoy their sauce.

By far my fav menu item is the Italian Nachos.  Airy crunchy chips, with big slices of italian sausage, mozz cheese and banana peppers served with big bowl of sauce in the middle.  My husband and I love to slit these when we go watch a game.

Calling all BUCKEYE Fans - OSU Alumni Club has the bar room rented for every OSU football game.  It's jammed packed of buckeyes in their scarlet and grey come game time.  They put the game on about 10 tvs and a big projector then they even pipe the band songs through the sound system.  It's a little piece of Columbus right here in KC.

I've known about Old Chicago for years, never really cared much for it.  You have to take out a mortgage to do their beers of the world challenge and win yourself a $5 glass or mug.

Service, however, can turn a bland cookie-cutter franchise into a wonderful post-grad party experience.  Therefore, I want to give big props to the guy who managed our room for the 3-4 hours we were there.  With the exception of a few delays, he remained pretty observant and helpful throughout the afternoon so big thanks to you bro, whoever you are.  Can't promise every server there is as top notch, but I'll say there's a chance you'll have a good dining experience here as a group!

Love the bar side of this location.  The wait staff always take great care of us and the food, well, it's perfection at every visit.  We are regulars and travel the beer tour regularly.

Beer tour you ask?  How can I forget to mention the 110+ beers?!  You can participate in seasonal tours that range from 8-20 beers and earn t-shirts for completion.  Or, you can do the full tour and win a sweatshirt or a pewter mug on the Wall of Foam!

Great place to hang out with friends, watch a game, and share some fabulous food.  I'm a huge fan of the Pepperoni rolls, the Italian Melt, or any of the Pizzas.  Also, you can't go wrong with a Little Big Cookie for dessert!

They have a late Happy Hour and appetizers are half price after 10pm.  They have an earlier one, but I'm not sure when b/c I never make it that early.

About two years ago, I cut into my slice of pizza to find not a hair, but hairs, plural.  In a big clump, like you'd find on a babershop floor.  That was not the last time I have eaten at Old Chicago.  That in itself should tell you how much I enjoy their pizza.  Any place that offers green olives as a pizza topping is a friend of mine.
