Rice and Dough is a great little place in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. My friend introduced me to it. He lives in the Camden and it is conveniently located right in the same building he lives in.
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is very cool. Sushi was awesome. This is for sure my new favorite place.
I was also pleased to find out that they deliver and are open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays! A place that specializes in Sushi, Pizza and Wine is a jackpot in my book.

Is it a sushi place, is it  a pizza place?? Is it a little of both, I think so. Stopped here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. We had the meatballs, I had a pizza and my husband had a sushi roll that I cant remember the name. The place is decorated very nicely and the owners sat and talked to us for at least 10 minutes. That shows you something when they take the time to speak to each guest. As far as the food goes, the pizza was excellent, meatballs as well and the sushi was a B. For my sushi I prefer CoCo's but this place was very good. If you are near Las Olas I recommed you give them a shot. Service was good, food was good, and the atmosphere was good. Cheers to Rice and Dough.

Ok, so the coolest thing about this place I have not seen anywhere in the reviews, is the rumor that if you are an expecting mom at the end of your pregnancy and you order from "Rice and Dough" their eggplant parmesean that it will send you into labor within 48 hrs. I'm not sure if it's true, or just a coincidence, but I had heard this was true so when I reached 39 wks pregnant with my 3rd child we decided to test the rumor. We had a blast enjoying good food, great service, and my husband was able to enjoy a couple drinks in the process. Then 5 hrs later - baby time!! Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I was happy! I have been back numerous times since then because the food is AMAZING and fresh/healthy. Must try the sushi (when not pregnant of course).

First off, everyone was vey, very nice and attentive at the restaurant. I had take-out, so I didn't get the full waiter experience. The kanisu was just okay - the cucumber was sliced just a little bit too thick and it was missing the rice vinegar dressing. However, the spicy tuna roll was one of the best I've had. It was perfectly spiced (not too spicy). They made me an iced green tea, which was nice, because they don't really have it on the menu. Anyways, I'll be heading back!

Using my trusty Yelp app, I found this place while exploring the Las Olas area downtown Ft. Lauderdale.  The "confused" reviews made me want to try this place and I'm sure glad we did!

The customer service deserves 6 stars!  We came in on a Saturday a little on the early side for lunch, but were greeted with nothing but warmth and hospitality.  We were the only ones dining in the restaurant for a bit, but slowly a few other people joined us.  Even with more people dining, the service was still top notch.

We ended up getting the Red Kryponite sushi roll and the Margarita pizza.  We also ended up ordering coffee.  They fresh brewed whole french press worth of delicious coffee for us!  Our meal was topped off with a complimentary limoncello made in house.  Don't forget to check in and got 10% off your bill!

Sushi and pizza, a weird combo, maybe.  Does it work here, DEFINITELY!

Just called , music so,load couldn't here me. Then couldn't understand my address .  After the 5 th attempt had to hang up.   I had questions about some menu items.  If they couldn't even hear and understand my address !! That wasn't going to work out very well.

Like everyone else I was worried they did one or the other really well. Surprise, they did both very well. Great place to eat with people who don't like sushi. Spicy tuna rolls were very good and I tried a friends  meat ball and it was delicious. Low key, good location and nice crowd.

This place....Holy crap. This place was amazing. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Fort Lauderdale for sure. Me and my friends decided to come here while visiting for the weekend for my friend's birthday. Right when you walk in, the place has a very interesting decor and atmosphere. Modern but really comfortable and different from any place you've been to.

The food was awesome. We got sushi (the black dragon roll I think) and a pizza I'm pretty sure. Everything was delicious, and I thought it was so cool that you can get sushi/japanese food and italian food and mix and match different meals. Everything was fresh and was really good versions of everything we ordered. We also got wine and got free shots of limoncello for my friend's bday, which was also great (my friends thought it was sweet but I loved it).

The service was also the best out of many restaurants we've been to. Very warm and welcoming and made you feel like family. Especially the way they kept giving us more shit to eat. I definitely recommend coming here, you will leave bloated and not even care.

Amazing sushi -- we got the Red Dynamite super roll and it was the best sushi I've had in Fort Lauderdale by far and big enough to share. Extremely attentive service, our food came out quickly and the sushi was very fresh. They have an extensive wine list with glasses starting at just $5! They also deliver with no delivery charge and no minimum purchase. Absolutely no complaints, I will definitely be coming back here!

Came in to visit my brother from NYC, decided to get pickup. This place is awesome! Amazing pizza and salad, pizza was huge, incredibly fresh ingredients, and the price was completely reasonable for the amount of delicious food you get.. Best takeout pizza place I've been to in I can't remember how long. Wish I had a spot like this that I knew of in NYC!

So like a previous reviewer put this place has an identity crisis but its not necessarily a bad thing... I came with one of my friends who isn't much of a sushi lover so thankfully I got my sushi fix and she was able to have pizza.

The moment we got there the owners were outside having dinner and they kindly greeted us, they asked how we found out about this place and I told them I found them on Yelp, that seemed to be the game changer.., the owner was on us like white on rice the entire night, it wasn't necessarily bad but it was a little over kill since we were trying to talk and catch up.

So this was one situation that I kind of have a gripe with when we got there at 10:30 the owner lets us know that the sushi chef left but that he could try and make us some of the simpler rolls...I appreciate this but at the same time I specifically came here to have a lot of sushi not the regular California roll that I can easily get at Publix, moving on we then ordered the four cheese pizza especially because it had provolone sadly and this might sound mean the provolone cheese was like sandwich slices so it didn't really melt the way shredded cheese does and the other down side was that the sauce was the same as the meatball appetizer we ordered which isn't a positive in my book, the pizza was decent and overall the best dish we're the meatballs.

Also I think because the owner wanted to please us he was riding the waiter and he didn't like it very much which shown through on the service we got from him.

You know..  I'm always leery of places that I perceive to have identity crisis.  Rice and Dough seems like an odd combo..  Sushi and Pizza  really?  I couldn't have been more wrong.  I went in for lunch this past Saturday and loved it.   My friends split a pizza which they loved and I had the lasagna which was excellent as well.

Inside was nice as well and clean.  Service was quite good although there were only 3 tables when I went so that's not any kind of a stress test.

I'm going to have to go back a few times and see if it's consistent

    Best meatballs I've ever had.
    Best limoncello, made in-house.
Most kind service from owners who are completely invested in their business.
    Great sushi.
    Go.  Now.

You want sushi but your bf/gf wants italian?  Rice and Dough is the place!  You wouldn't think they go together but trust me they do!  This is a great local spot with a diverse and healthy menu.  They also have a great selection of beer and wine.  Everything on the menu is priced very competitively. Most of the places in the Las Olas area are priced way too high for what they are, but R&D is not.  The portions are generous. Parking is never an issue and they also deliver, but the inside is very nice and relaxing.   The inside is setup casually, yet modern and high end at the same time. There are large TV's at the bar so this is a great spot for a business lunch, a friday night date, a quick fix, watching the game, or as your go-to spot when you can't decide where to go for dinner.   It's even open until 3 on the weekends Try the rice and dough garden salad, eggplant, pizza, and any one of their sushi specialties.  I haven't found a fault with this place yet.  The husband and wife owners are also the managers and the wait staff is good.

Pizza and Sushi, interesting. We saw this place and decided to give it a try on a whim. It was clean, new, and moderately busy for a Thursday afternoon. I initially wanted sushi which is what brought me in but when we arrived inside the pizza struck us as a must try. We got a pizza with prosciutto, caramelized onions, and fresh mozzarella and between two of us we ate the entire thing. It was delicious.

After having visited I am not sure how willing I'd be to walk in and try the sushi. The decor shouts 'modern casual italian' and the staff (who are insanely friendly) are clearly Italian. I think this place would do just fine if they dropped the sushi and maybe pick up some arancini if they want to keep the name "Rice and Dough'

Great food, Great atmosphere at a great price.  Try the sushi, pizza and for lunch paninis.  It is so conveinient for me as it is in my building.  Amy and Goran the owners are the nicest most professional people and they will do anything to make sure you have a great time at this excellent restaurant.  Go once and you'll be hooked!  Great job Goran and Amy!!!
