Came here one evening last week after a Dogtown email from Yelp. The hubs and kids were in tow.
I'm glad we arrived when we did; the dining room filled up pretty quickly around 6 p.m. Our waitress was super-nice, and when I grimaced at her answer to my standard, "Do you have Coke or Pepsi?" question, she suggested a Diet Dr. Pepper. THANK YOU. I didn't remember STL being such a Pepsi town...
The hubs was torn between the reuben and the gyro, and I suggested the reuben. If you want a killer gyro, go to Olympia. Well, that was the case back in 2002, but haven't been there since returning. He said it was amazing.
Kids ordered a hot dog with fries and a grilled cheese with chips. The boy (youngest) seemed to like the hot dog, but who can tell? The girl said the grilled cheese and chips were both great.
Mama Bear ordered her old favorite, the cheeseburger. I was bummed to see the menu notation that burgers take 20-25 minutes, and that's no bullsh*t. I ordered medium well, but got medium rare. The flame broiled juiciness was so good, I didn't even care...my elbow was dripping, which is exactly how I like it. The crinkle fries, I am sorry to report, were a little undercooked. However, I ate every last one of them, cause that's how it is. The ranch was crazy thick, but really tasty.
I would definitely go back. The burger is one of the best I've ever had. Seems like a fun place to drink the night away.
