What a fun place! Â The service was great and every one of the staff we met seemed happy, and did a great job. Â Everything we ordered was served as ordered and was good. Â We thought we were getting there early on a Sat., about 5PM and it was packed! Â Definately will use the call ahead seating next time. Â Who would figure a packed house at that time?
Review Source:Look. I worked at the East Peoria Texas Roadhouse for a few years in college. Since then, I've gone to many Texas Roadhouse restaurants, and they all look EXACTLY the same on the inside. And, you get the exact same food, no matter what. So, to say I love the East Peoria one would mean that I love ALL of them.
One nice thing about this place is that they truly, TRULY do make all their food in house. If nothing has changed since 2007, then the only things they do not make there are the low fat ranch dressing and their apple pie. But literally, everything is from scratch, which is great. If you have ever worked for a chain restaurant before, you know that made-from-scratch items are harder to find in this realm.
Their chicken critters are off the chain. Seriously, how can a chicken strip dipped in ranch taste so heavenly? It's insane. If you get the Critter Salad, it's basically the same experience and you can feel better about yourself.
They dip their steak in butter and season it, like any other place. But it's dang good, for the price. Their steaks range between $7.99 to somewhere around $20ish, and that includes sides. You will pay triple that price at Ruth's Chris, just for the steak. Is it just as good? No, but its still really, really good. This place always has a wait for a reason...affordable but delicious steak. I mean, Applebee's has a cheap steak, but are people waiting out the door for it? Nope. There's a reason people come here.
Pretty much everything here is good except for the low fat ranch dressing and the pork chops. Don't get the pork chops. Seriously, don't. They are dry and awful.
One con about this particular location is that their high school kids that are working the carry-out room are usually flirting or on their phones. I get it, guys. You are basically locked in the belltower of the restaurant, away from the action and from your other host friends. But for the 5-6 times an hour that someone comes in to get their carry-out, PLEASE pay attention and smile :)
This has been one of my favorite places since it opened in the area. The food is excellent and you get your moneys worth with 2 sides with all entres. You also get unlimited rolls when you sit down, and they are unbelievable. Soft and served with their own county style butter. Â The steaks are priced reasonably between $12-$20 depending on which you go with. The rest of the entrees are around the $9-$12 mark. The atmosphere is very loud because of how busy the place is almost all day long and the staff is always friendly and fully staffed properly. My favorite is actually their Country Fried Chicken, with a house salad, and mashed potatos.
Review Source:Saturday night visit with my aunt at the nearby hospital and my husband is starting to get crabby, so I know it's nearing dinner time. I realize that we're in Naperville a there is, in fact, a Texas Roadhouse somewhere in Naperville and I haven't been to one in about 5 years so I know this is where I want to go.
As we're leaving the hospital, I call for call ahead seating, which I HIGHLY recommend. It got us on the list. Took about 10 minutes to get there after my phone call to them and we only had to wait about 10 minutes once we actually arrived, total SCORE! Nice waiting area, minus the floor covered in peanut shells, but that's part of the charm. There is a barrel, yes, a barrel of peanuts smack dab in the middle of the waiting area. You can snack while you wait. My husband of course, loved this! It was like being at a Cubs game: break the shell, take the nuts, release the shell. My one suggestion is give those hostesses a tray of waters to offer to people. There is a large group of hostesses standing around. Literally doing nothing but waiting for a table to seat. This may be a better use of their time and make the whole experience a little nicer for the guests. Just a thought.
Our pager lights up and vibrates, our hostess grabs a basket of something from the kitchen on her way to seat us and off we go!
This place is totally family and large group friendly. No question that people come here for the atmosphere and the food. It's fun and interactive and makes for a great spot to bring the kids. Their noise just blends in with the other 150 people in the whole place chatting away. A lot of birthdays...they bring around a saddle and make you straddle it while they announce to the whole place that it's so-and-so's birthday, and we all do a big "YA---HOO" for the birthday guy or gal. Â It can be a little distracting but in all honesty, it's that kind of place: fun and loud and gets people in a good mood. Even the older couple at the table next to us, clapped for them and did a yahoo or two. See? Its that kind of place.
Our server, Jena, loved her!! She's new to the area and worked at TR in another state previously. She knows the restaurant, knows the menu, and that girl was on top of refills like white on rice. Well done, Jena! We'll be requesting you on our next visit. Such a sweet gal.
So, about that basket the hostess grabbed earlier...I had almost forgotten! They have these warm rolls they serve with...wait for it....this creamy cinnamon butter that just glides onto the bread as if it they were meant for each other. Not gonna lie, it's really hard to just have one. You really need to have at least 2. The best things in life come in pairs...so two of these rolls just makes sense.
We skipped the apps because in all honesty, you get two sides with each entree and with the bread, that's simplytoo much food. For us, at least.
I really wanted a steak but the pulled pork and chicken combo grabbed my attention, so I opted for that and I ate a steak vicariously through by husband who ordered a bone-in ribeye per my suggestion. So I actually got to taste the steak I would have ordered if I hadn't got the combo so it worked out. I got the chili as one of my sides and it had a lot of meat. Surprisingly so. They also will give you onions and cheese if you'd like. I just got the cheese. It was quite yummy! The chicken was a butterflied breast and the pulled pork was tender and had a nice flavor. The steak was excellent!! A nice thick cut steak and sooooo flavorful. I barely ate my dinner after the rolls and the chili so I have plenty of leftovers in the fridge and they WILL be eaten!
We will be back. I really enjoy all Naperville has to offer, so this will be a regular stop for us when we're in the area. Next time, I'm going for the steak, and maybe I'll skip the chili so I can enjoy a little more of my entree.
Very popular restaurant. I showed up at 8pm and waited almost 30 minutes for a table. The atmosphere is very laid-back and relaxed. There are many TVs surrounding the bar playing sports games, adding to the laid-back persona of this place. The noise level is about average, despite the high number of birthday parties that were there when I hit up this place.
This place is known for their steaks, but I opted for their country fried chicken since it was getting old and I was craving some hearty comfort food. From the beginning though, the warm bread and their cinnamon butter really hits the spot. I also recommend ordering the fried pickle appetizer. As for the main meal, the country friend chicken with the "white sauce" was what I was craving for the night. The serving sizes are a bit on the larger side, but what can you expect from a restaurant with "Texas" in its' name? The prices are very reasonable so I have no reason to gripe about this place.
They also provide unlimited peanuts. You will enjoy this place even more if you enjoy country music. Despite having a bar here, people do not get out of hand here.
Cheers.
With the economy being so tight, it has been more difficult going out for a nice steak. That being said, if I am going to spend my money, I am going to spend it at the Texas Roadhouse.  The steaks and other meat selections here are all tender and delicious, I especially love the sirloins because you can choose your perfect size.  It is also very difficult  to choose between the sides dishes because I love them all: Baked potato, sweet potato, corn, greenbeans, a nice side salad....  I usually set it up with my hubby so we get different sides, and that way I can have a taste of everything. Even without the steaks and even without the sides, I would come to Texas Roadhouse for the warm, buttery, sweet, and delicious dinner rolls by themselves.  Screw giving up carbs, I want those damn buns!
Review Source:I am an unashamed fan of this chain. The food is reliably good across all the locations I have been to. You can't beat the steak for the price. (And if you want a $100 steak, go somewhere where they do not throw peanuts on the floor.)
I am hooked on the 8oz sirloin for $10.99. Salad is always good, potatoes are good, their chili is delicious. Have had the ribs, all good! The rolls and cinnamon butter are sinful but do be aware that the little demons pack in 227 calories each without any added cinnamon butter, and we know you're putting some of that on too.
I've been to Roadhouse locations about 25 times and have sent steaks back twice. Not bad compared to the other chains. Steaks are far better than Outback. Service is almost always above average & there's even peanuts while you wait for a table. Can't beat it!
It's like the Outback but full on AMERICA. Food was good, service was friendly and the manager even came by because he heard it was my girlfriend and I's first time visiting and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer next time we are in. Oh, and the rolls were delicious! Definitely will be going back sometime.
Review Source:Mmm i love their filet mignon medallions! Their food is decent, but if you order their top notch food... it is just full of quality. Their hot rolls are very good. There's so much butter in them, I don't bother to add more to it, haha.
Last time I was here, my bf and his roommate ate sooooo many rolls that when we walked out, a waitress (in a friendly manner) came up to me and said, "Did you know that that 2 rolls = 1 big mac?"
My jaw dropped.
Went with high hopes left thinking it was a slightly nicer Fridays or something like that. I don't know what was Texas about it but it was a nice idea. Dont be fooled it has as much to do with Texan cuisine as Chilis does. Brisket was a joke...Chili Meh..... only think I liked were the rolls and Cinnamon butter. ....keep it!
Review Source:There was Huge waiting list to get a seat, but when we were finally seated the fresh bread with cinnamon butter was awesome and made me think the wait might have been worth it.
And it was worth the wait! Â The dinner salad was good, the potatoes were great, the steaks were cooked perfect, the service was good. Â
The decor is cheesy fake western and the atmosphere is loud. Â But, I will be back for that cinnamon butter!
I've been to the one in Tinely Park, and this one thereafter clarified it for me: I think this place kind of sucks.
I'm not a huge steak guy, but remembering their inability to disentangle the huge mystery of knowing the difference between medium-rare and medium-well still annoys me. And am I expecting too much for a steakhouse to serve at least a palatable burger? I'd chose a Whopper over what they gave me any day of the week. Sorry, but this place is not my cup of tea.
Two stars for peanuts and the bread rolls.
Always consistently great food! Service is usually good. I like Temple at the Naperville location, he's a personable guy and remembers your face. Makes it feel like more of a small-town place, even though it's not. Only place I can find a $9 6oz. steak with 2 delicious sides, rolls and cinnamon butter, and peanuts! So much food! The ribs are very good too! We have been here for many events and birthdays, always a blast!
Review Source:When I want a great steak without worrying about the quality, Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorites. Â I travel regularly to Chicago for work and have visited this location a half dozen times. Â
Their ribeye is always great and I love their rolls with cinnamon butter.. Â Service has always been prompt and courteous, even if I am dining alone.
While I have not taken my family to this location, we go to one close to home and my eighty year old loves going here. Â There is something for everyone. Â Just avoid going on weekends unless you like to wait.
LOVE THIS PLACE! This is my second time coming here and it has been great both times. Their steaks are awesome, I had the prime rib both times. This time in particular was my birthday and I was there with my mother who conveniently told them so they had to embarrass me of course! They come to your table with a saddle and make you sit on it and inform the restaurant of your birthday and yell YEE HAW really loud and clap for you! haha. I was mortified but it was all in good fun.
Okay back to Service and Food. Our waitress was Emily and she was AWESOME! Very cheerful, extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and was always checking in to make sure we had what we needed, perfect example of what a great waitress should be!
Their rolls with cinnamon butter are great, and you cannot leave without having one of their hot brownie sundaes! oh yum yum yum!
I also wanted to point out that some other reviewers complained that the kitchen was running out of certain things on very busy nights, that is because all of their meat is fresh and they only have a certain number that gets delivered for each days shift. Also, a lot of their stuff is made from scratch daily. They really don't skimp on quality here so that is why they occasionally run out.
This place is a 30 to 40 minute drive from my house and we still come here over other places because its just that good.
Texas Roadhouse may be a chain, but they do it up right here.
I have never gotten a steak that wasn't perfectly cooked to order and well-seasoned. Â Their rolls are always fresh and hot and the cinnamon butter is divine. Â The wait staff is always friendly and very helpful with suggesting cuts, taking orders, and putting a smile on your face.
I have had issues with onion blossoms not being cooked well enough; the batter is sometimes goopy and the onions are sometimes pretty raw and crunchy.
They do call ahead seating here, which I really appreciate. Â However, they also have a policy, which they enforce irregularly, in which your entire party must be present before they seat you. Â If you're meeting a friend who is stuck in traffic, you might get stuck sitting on a bench amongst the barrels of peanuts while you get skipped over.
Went here after my brother graduated from NIU. Congrats on that, idiot. Not sure how they are giving you a degree for majoring in surfing the internet, but oh well, I am getting one for texting....kidding!
We showed up, and since our party was large, we were split into two booth, which I didn't mind, but I am sure the people who had to sit with my dad and grandma, who are both really quirky (IE weird), were irked, again, I kid.
The bread they give you looked really good, as well as the cinnamon butter. I wasn't an idiot and filled up on that, as long as peanuts, but I had to wait for my meal. I decided on sirloin steak with onions and mushrooms, plus a house salad and baked beans. Yes, two sides, in addition to an entree, plus the bread and peanuts. Texas Roadhouse? More like Texas Madhouse...so much food!
The variety of dishes ordered were shrimp, sirloin kabobs, burgers, and sandwiches. Also, sides were ordered, such as potatoes (sweet, mashed, baked, loaded). You would think we would shut the place down. There was so much food!
Yes, you can eat sensibly here, but it would be very difficult without that willpower, I will admit! I would go back!
"Oh no, it's a chain"....So you're saying you can't get a decent steak at a "chain"? I disagree, and shame on you for thinking you're better than me because I like chain restaurants.
My wife and I dined here one Friday night with a gift card we received from our family. We've been to other locations in this chain without any problems; this particular night was not one of their best.
I would never rate this place a solid 5 stars simply on the basis that no one really likes a roadhouse. No one really wants to be sitting in a restaurant where you have to scream to the person next to you in order to be heard; no one really wants to be stepping on peanut shells everywhere (surprised that's not a health code violation; I'm sure it attracts some sort of crawling insects...); and no one wants to wait for 45 minutes to an hour to be seated.
Of course, if you truly despise that...you're in the wrong restaurant! I know this is no upscale steakhouse, but the roadhouse atmosphere does get annoying after a while. There's only so much noise you can take. And people bring their families here? No.
But what's surprising is that, overall, this is one of the better steakhouses we've been to. Everything smells great, tastes great, and we never have problems with the orders or the staff. The rolls, of course, are to die for (recipe for the cinnamon butter, anyone?).
On this particular night, it seemed that the kitchen was unprepared. Our poor waiter tried his best, but the kitchen ran out of items, wasn't getting food out, and the food that was coming out was rushed. We received an onion blossom appetizer that still had raw, uncooked batter on it; my wife's steak was practically mooing it was so blood-red; and rolls? Forget about it.
I give the staff all the sympathy in the world for having to put up with it (and, in turn, putting up with impatient customers and families). I hope that isn't the norm at this location; I'm willing to try it again, but I'm hoping for a better experience next time!
Restaurant review
Cinnamon butter on dinner roll! You can't go wrong with eating at Texas Roadhouse. There is a reason why you have to wait 1 hour to be seated at this restaurant. While you are waiting, you get to eat unlimited peanuts which you can shell and throw on the floor. The meat they use for the steaks are excellent grade full of flavor and the season is just right. At least from my experience the steaks are cooked to perfection. They come with 2 sides (i prefer my chili and mashed potatos). If you don't want steak, they have one of the best salmon dishes that is cheaper than Red lobster. To complement the meal, you get unlimited warm fresh dinner rolls with a healthy slab of cinnamon butter. I downed a whole basket by myself during my last trip.
Pro: cinnamon butter dinner rolls, unlimited peanuts, bargain price, flavorful steak
Cons: excessive long wait times
Hidden gem:
- Make sure you do the call ahead seating which cuts down on your wait time
- Take a bag of peanuts for home
- Signup for the email club on the website for a free appetizer
- Unlimited dinner rolls with delicious cinnamon butter
Good prices, good food, and you can throw peanut shells on the floor. Â I have not been to a Texas Roadhouse in almost 10 years and was glad to see that their ribs are still as good as I remember. Â I ordered a half slab and they meat falls off the bones. Â
I highly recommend the cheese fries with bacon, chili was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Â Overall ticket for the wife and I to eat dinner with soft drinks was just over 30 bones with tip included.
I told myself I would never eat here. I know it's a chain, and the worst kind of chain puts the name of a city or state in its name. It's like they are telling folks, "Eat here, it's just like you're eating in a Texas Roadhouse". It's like they're just setting themselves up for failure because there will always be someone (like the snob in me) that will say, "Well, I HAVE eaten in a real Texas Roadhouse and blah, blah, blah..." you get the picture.
It took a visiting friend of mine to see the error of my ways. She had just moved to Alaska and was telling me about all the things she misses from the "lower 48" and she sighed as we drove past Texas Roadhouse....well, she being one of my best friends, we HAD to stop there for lunch.
We had a great lunch. There's a bucket of peanuts on the table to snack on while you decide what to order. I guess you can throw the shells on the floor, but they did have an extra bucket for shells if you didn't feel like littering. They also gave some warm bread rolls with cinnamon butter which was really, really good. Between the peanuts and bread rolls, we did not feel the need to order appetizers (but the list really looked good too)
I ordered the 6oz filet, medium, and it was cooked perfectly. It was also seasoned well that there wasn't any need for steak sauce. There wasn't any steak sauce on the table anyway--pretty confident that folks wont need it, and to me, they are right on! There are a lot of sides you can choose between baked potato, baked sweet potato, fries, side salad, steamed veggies. The salad is pretty basic--iceberg lettuce, carrots, cucumbers. The baked potato was just basic as well. Â
Service was really good. I think our server could tell that me and my friend had a lot to talk about so he really didn't interrupt us to ask how we were doing, he walked past many times and would glance and smile at us. You know, that unspoken dance between diner and server letting each other know that all is well.
The decor is Texas kitschy, road signs, wood everywhere, nice big bar in the center. What I found was great spot that I'd definitely visit again.
I'm typically not a huge fan of country music or food on the floor, but every once in a while I need a fix of both. This place is about comfort and food over anything else. Are you looking for ridiculous amounts of potatoes and a huge slab of meat? You got it! You want to eat peanuts by the bucketful and throw the shells on the floor? Live it up!
My man's meat (giggle) was perfection. He asked for medium and it came out just as it should have. We shared the bread basket and their shrimp skewer appetizer. Both were delicious. Their sweet butter creeps me out a little. It's definitely an acquired taste. My prime rib was medium rare, but it wasn't the best cut or my favorite seasoning. I'm not saying it was bad, but I think I'll take this one from the South and pass it back to the Italians.
This is one of those reviews where you can tell I wasn't wild about the place, but I didn't totally hate it. Â I do have to admit I am bias as I lived in the south for five years so a standard has been established. Â
I won't be detailing out my whole meal to a tee. . . Instead I will say this:
The food was fine. Â I had the Country Fried Sirloin - known in Texas as Chicken Fried. Â The portion was generous beyond my expectation (I would have taken a picture, but it was the one time I didn't have my camera). Â The dish also came with two side of my choice and all the bread and cinnamon butter my little heart desired. Â
Most of this rating was earned due to the good service received. Â Lupe did a good job of making sure everything was taken care of. Â He even was kind enough to check for me whether or not the Ribs were Pork or Beef which meant a lot as it influenced my meal choice.
All in all, I would give Texas Roadhouse another chance - I just won't be having the Chicken Fried Steak this time.
i wish there was another location closer to the city! Â I soo long for their bread and cinnamon butter. Â I always kick myself for ordering an apetizer when I never really get to that or my entree because I stuffed myself with bread and butter. Â
I usually get the country fried steak but I eat it at home because I never get to it. Â I do suggest the prime rib, it is very good and it is always sold out by 8 pm on the weekends. Â The server suggested that the best time to go on the weekends for prime rib is around 4 pm. Â Who wants to go out for dinner at 4?!
I really wasn't in the mood to go out when we went here for dinner. I was very overwhelmed by the volume of the patrons and music when we first walked in, and felt intimidated as I was trying to be careful not to fall on my crutches. The booth was a little hard to get into since I can't bend my knee. But once we got seated, everything changed!
The friendly waiter started joking with us, and got me feeling at ease almost immediately. Â My boyfriend had a steak, which he enjoyed. And I had a side sampler combo platter thing. I am in LOVE with the Rattlesnake Bites! They're like jalapeno poppers, but better! The breading on the chicken tenders reminded me too much of fish, not what I was used to, so I left those alone. My boyfriend assures me they were good. I also had a huge strawberry banana margarita - which I'd never heard of before. It used a banana liquer, and was sooo good!
I can't wait to bring my brother and sister-in-law, who are really into the western theme! They also gave us a card for a free appetizer the next time we come in!
My biggest issue against the place is it's not very handicap accessible, but that's a risk you take going into a more popular place.
Just had dinner here tonight (Sunday)-good day to go because this place gets pretty packed. Â It's your standard BBQ house with pails of peanuts on each table. Â You're greeted at your table with puffy hot bread rolls served with cinnamon butter...deelish! Â Watch out, if you're not too careful you'll fill up on these buns and have no room left for dinner! Â I had the pulled pork dinner (took most of it home since I ate too much bread & "onion cactus."). Â Most entrees come with two side dishes anywere from green beans to sweet potatoes...yum!
Our server, Adam was amazing-very fun, friendly, and attentive. Â He even sent us home with drinks to go and fresh buns! Â Great service and great food too!
Lots of young people at this place when I came here on a Wednesday night. i didn't see any roaches here on the day I came as one previous reviewer had wrote.
This will be a short review.
The bread they serve is awesome! Nice and warm fresh from the oven. It comes with a cinnamon butter spread. I'm not a fan of sweet stuff before the entree so I only used regular butter.
Ordered the 16 oz new york strip medium. Came out how I liked it. So that's good. the bad stuff is the sides that came with it. I had a side of the rice and potatoes. Both came out really salty. I thought it was just me at first but then my buddy said it was definitely salty. I asked the waitress if she could give me another one that wasn't so salty. She brought me another one but it was still salty.
I was wavering between 3 and 4 stars for this place. Â I bumped it to 4 when my taste buds reminisced of their warm bread and cinnamon butter.
To the previous poster who said "who wants to make a meal of those?" - I say, "you'd be surprised". Â At any rate, ask for another basket of bread as you're finishing and take it home with you.
As for the dishes, I wouldn't say the steaks or sides are anything to write home about - but they do have a decent variety of cuts and sizes, and the prices aren't that outrageous. Â Serving sizes are OK but combined with the unlimited bread and filler peanuts, and you'll be just fine with whatever you end up ordering.
Take somebody here for their birthday, tell the server, and they'll bring over a saddle for your friend to get rowdy.
Was there on a Monday night, so no wait at all. Service was good. They did forget to bring the rolls with when we sat down, but was soon rectified. They keep the restaurant very clean. Someone was always cleaning something. Music level was perfect, just loud enough for background, but quiet enough so that we could visit with the friends we were there with.
Wrong drink for my daughter, but server immediately retrieved the correct one and left the mistake for my daughter to enjoy (without charging us).
We all had steaks that we thoroughly enjoyed, with the exception of my husband who ordered the full slab of ribs. This is the first time I can remember my husband  being barely able to finish the ribs.  Very good ribs and lots of meat on them. My two daughters were able to customize their meals to their satisfaction. Finally a kids menu that has real meals on it. Â
We never felt rushed to leave. Loved the time we were able to visit with friends. I'm a person who likes the longer times between courses. Gives me time to visit and to digest/make room for more food.
The only complaint I had was the small size of the plates. I had difficulty making room to cut my steak. I realize now that the small size of their dishes is because of the small size of their tables. That allows them to fit more tables and seat more people. Still generous meal sizes.
Our server was great and very attentive.
When I am in the suburbs I do like going here. Â While it is a chain restaurant I do enjoy the warm bread you get and the peanuts on the table. Â They always have an amazing chicken cesaer salad! Â It's super yummy.
However, I may be a little biased. Â I have a friend that works here and I enjoy going to see her. Â And she's a damn good server so ask for Sarah C.when you go in!
This is a chain and a VERY popular restaurant. So much so that we took one month to be able to go, picking a Saturday when they had just opened at around 11ish.
The private parking is very small and hard to come by.
The food is good, the atmosphere is fun for country music fans with all kinds of memorabilia and theme materials hanging on the walls, with some fun country crooner cartoons as well.
The bar looks very country, but the folks who come here are very well behaved. I must say it was starting to get louder as our lunch progressed, due to our having come in as they just opened for the day and folks starting to trickle in by family or couple party.
I was impressed by their freshly baked rolls that the hostess picks up as she takes you to your seat when you first come in. I always like to spy on the kitchen folks and this gives you a brief opportunity as you work your way in. Everything looked tidy and acceptable, but I didn't step to the restroom on my visit.
All around a good touch of country for the occasional hankering.
Executive Summary: Â Don't come to this restaurant if you dying for a good shag.
We were hungry. Â Sure, we hadn't seen each other alone in a week and a half, but we were adults. Â Our, *cough* needs could be contained long enough for a quick 30 minute meal. Â It was 9pm, on a Thursday - how long could dinner take?
Well, at this restaurant, an hour and a half. Â Which, honestly, was an hour too long. Â Everything was slow. Â Getting a hostesses attention in order to be seated took forever. Â Getting our drinks went reasonably quickly, but we went into a massive slow down from there. Â I was nodding out over my salad by the time it showed up. Â My evening of sex was quickly fading.
As chain food goes, its fairly decent. Â Our appetizer, snakebites, which are chopped jalapenos and cheese, needed more jalapenos, less fake cheese. Â Our salads were excellent. Â However, our entrees were iffy - the loaded baked potato, ordered without sour cream, came with sour cream. Â It took so long for our waitress to check back that we were almost done with dinner before we could bring it to her attention. Â She did happily exchange it for another salad, but it took another 10 minutes for it to arrive.
My barbecue chicken breast was overcooked, although the sauce was excellent. Â My mashed potatoes were good. Â My partner, who was trying to spark, well, my interest, fed me some of his chicken fried steak, which was quite good, if a little salty.
We didn't have dessert. Â We were beginning to think that we'd be moving in, and were hoping they'd let us have sex on the table.
Oh, and the atmosphere is clearly meant to be a Texas honky tonk, with loud country music. Â While I enjoy country music, an hour and a half of loud music was a bit much for my dining companion. Â And honestly, an hour and a half of bad country music jokes gets old as well.
