I met up with a friend here on a weeknight. This place is cozy and quaint. There are a couple of outdoor seats, and an upstairs area with sofas. The sofa area is pretty small though so unless you're up there alone there's not much privacy.
the wines are good, maybe a bit pricey, but I'm no connoisseur so it may just be lost on me. there is no food. only street parking, but it's pretty easy around the area at night since not many other restaurants/bars nearby.
This place is haunted. Â Just kidding. Â Seriously, this is a legit little lounge located in Beverly Hills near Century City. Â I came here in a group of six on Saturday night. Â I was a little worried given the location, size, and fact that they weren't very busy. Â But this made street parking super easy and the size definitely gave the Vampire Lounge its own charm.
My friends and I basically got the whole upstairs loft area to ourselves. Â Despite its name, the place is actually furnished more like the library room from the boardgame Clue. Â It's kind of dark but also feels a little homey. Â This is one of those places where you go with your friends and just chill. Â No need for the pretentiousness that LA can sometimes be all about. Â Apparently Vampire Lounge has its own vineyards that make all kinds of wine. Â My friends and I ordered a bottle of pinot noir and shared it. Â It was rich, kind of fruity but also still had the classic features of a red. Â (I actually know very little about wine, so I hope this was convincing.) Â Prices aren't too steep either. Â
Service: Â Our server was great, too. Â He came by to check on us now and then, guided us to finding the perfect bottle, and even was a decent conversationalist, telling us some stories based on the theme of the restaurant. Â
Bottom line: Â I had a great time at the Vampire Bar. Â It's not haunted, it's not scary, it's actually quite pleasant!
My best friend was visiting and we love our share of wines. I wanted to take her to a nice place that neither of us have been to, and I happen to stumble upon this place. I love it! The ambience is just relaxing and I loved the decor. The chandeliers up top really impressed me! The lounge is really small. The bar is located on the main floor, and they have extra space upstairs which can hold more people or a private party. My friend and I just stayed at the bar and had their signature wine and champagne. It was great, and we both enjoyed the atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night, and surprisingly, not that many people were there. The rest of Beverly Hills was quiet, so we got a close parking spot just walking distance from the lounge.
I definitely recommend this place, and I hope to go back again soon!
This place is a gem for those that want a nice and cozy environment where u don't feel like u r in LA...had my wife's bday party here with about 30 people.
Preacher took care of us prior to getting things setup and Madison was great host for the evening.
Their wines and bubbly are great to enjoy as well!
Decided to try this place out after reading all the great reviews. Super glad we went! Got there around 7:00 on a Saturday night and it really wasn't packed at all. Only a group of 4 at the bar and another couple off to the side. So we got good seats at the bar thankfully. The place really is small, but it is 2 stories. There is an upstairs with couches that you can go up to if you want more privacy, but only if there isn't already a private party up there. It's small, but cozy. The decor is so cool, totally my style :)
Oh and it was a little hard to find, so I had to call, but the girl was very helpful and we finally found the place.
The wines we tasted were excellent. We tried the Vampire Merlot, Dracula Syrah and the Dracula Pinot Noir...all were very great tasting.
FYI, they do not have wine flights anymore, which sucked, cuz that's what I was most looking forward to, but oh well no biggie.
We tried the bread and olive oil they give to you for free which was yummy and I also tried one of their vampire milk chocolate bars, which was very tasty!
And the bartender which I believe her name was Nicole was so sweet and so friendly. She made us feel very comfortable. Very nice and inviting place.
Only thing I wish was that it wasn't so expensive, but hey it's Beverly Hills so what do I expect right?! Haha. Also wish they had more little snacks to choose from, but other than that The Vampire Lounge is awesome!
I really enjoyed the Dracula Zinfandel, it was filled with plum flavors with a little bite from the cracked pepper and spice mixture. Â I made the stupid mistake and bought only one chocolate bar, well I arrived to my older sisters house and forgot to take it out of the bag before I sat it on the counter, she said it was very good...so buy two bars and hide one for yourself.
Review Source:Great neighborhood bar! Â Loved the atmosphere (although I expected it to be dimly lit and more vampire-ish) Loved the decor, the stories, the upstairs. Loved the bartender! Â Madison is beautiful, intelligent and super funny! We were there for hours and had an amazing time meeting interesting characters all night long. Â They have a limited menu but great tasting... and of course the wines were delish.. my favorites were the Vampire Pinot and their rose champagne.... gotta love that bubbly!
Definitely go there for the wine, the company, the conversation, and the bartender... Will will for sure be back!
Talk about being cliche, but what better night to go to this place than Halloween right?
Wasn't sure how crowded or if we needed reservations, so I did call in advance and they said, other than a private party at 8 pm, we can still show up for drinks.
Grabbed a girlfriend and we showed up at 7, the mgr asked if we were here for the party?, I replied no, he then said "well, we have a private party", I said, yup, I know, I called and they said I can still come before 8:00 : P
I get it... It's hard to set up and attend to outside guests, but we don't need too much attention, hopped ourselves at the end of the bar and ordered a good glass of wine and than I knew we would be on our scary way. We ended up having a great time with the manager and he was so kind to even let us stay for the party as his guests. As much as we would have loved to, it would have been awkward, since it is a small lounge and the party guests would look at us like, Who the hell are these two crashing our Halloween Party?
Everyone was sooo friendly and the service was great, will definitely be back!
A friend and I stopped by Vampire on Saturday for a quick sip and run. Real quick. Maybe 10-20 minutes. We began the night looking for a place where we could drink, meet people, and grab a bite to eat. I'll probably be back to try this place again and when I do I will update. However, for the moment, 3 stars because I think Vampire caters to... vampires.
So it's Saturday night. We're hungry and want drinks and convo. Yelp directed us to Vampire. A quick call to see if they had room for 2 more was answered by Keenan who very welcomingly said that they had quite a full house but would be able to fit us easily enough.
Street parking was plentiful and we got a metered spot near the entrance. Now we should have known from the beginning that something was up. A small group (three men, two women) sat outside sipping wine. When we approached they eyed us and in strange seductively low tones encouraged us to join them and wanted our names and to know all about us. We passed on the offer and continued on in.
Confusion. There's a bar. There are some bar stools along the sides and a couple of tables. On the left there is a staircase going up. Do we seat ourselves? Can we go upstairs? What's upstairs? Do we order at the bar or will someone take our order? We were confused as no one greeted us and we weren't sure what to do. So we sat to the side on stools and surveyed the land. I guess the high class concept confused our understanding of the wine bar as being still a bar... bar. I'm pretty sure you have to order at the bar and help yourself to your seats.
The crowd seemed a mix of mid 30s and older crowd having a nice night out. I went up to the bar and ordered a white pinot and charcuterie board to share. The European man by himself at the edge of the bar paid me some compliments and tried to touch my arm as I walked away with the pinot. I went back to my friend and we digested the environment. The man to our left kept making eye contact and not breaking it. The red haired lady by the bar was glancing over and smiling... seductively. The gentleman sitting alone by the window straight up stared. They all looked like they wanted to eat us. Or have us join in a ritual orgy.
By pure chance, within minutes of sitting down a friend called and demanded we go out to eat a late dinner with her. We canceled our charcuterie, chugged the wine, paid, tipped, and excused ourselves out the Vampire inhabited lounge. The gentleman by the window followed us as we got up and out and we hurried. I zoom-zoomed away before he got 5ft outside.
So the wine was yummy. The service was lovely. The crowd was interesting. Vampire like. And the charcuterie board? I'll try that next time.
This place is tucked away on Santa Monica Blvd, right across a very fancy hotel whose name escapes me at the moment. Â
When reading the reviews online I expected more of a quiet and more intimate space, with the lights a little dim and a more romantic ambiance. Â upon walking in i looked at the menu and the prices were reasonable. Â not reasonable for BH, but reasonable in general which was nice and refreshing.
a wine flight runs about 15$ and they have a wonderful assortment of wines. Â You can also purchase by the glass as well as bottle. Â
We also tried the dipping plate which consisted of some bread along with pesto, balsamic+olive oil, and hummus. Â all were well made and tasted wonderful. Â
there is a nice upstairs area which is a little more intimate. Â this place is amazing. Â kean is the best behind the counter!
if you're a local you must visit this place. Â if you're visiting from out of town stop by to this amazing place and visit one of the hidden gems in LA.
We sat at the bar and just had a very nice and casual conversation. Â this place is awesome and I most certainly will be coming back.
This wine bar is so cool!! When I first walked by and saw "Vampire" I thought "must stay away, vampires scare me" totally irrational I know. LOL! I hopped in here when I was waiting for my husband to pick me up; low and behold, their wine is amazing! The Pinot Noir and Cab are my favorites. I tried a glass and then bought 2 bottles.
If you buy 2 bottles they have a $12 off sale that makes it very affordable. The decor is dark, luxurious and classy in a certain way, definitely comfortable. I usually just sit at the bar and chit chat with the very friendly bartenders or other patrons. The music was wonderful and this place has a great vibe.
I definitely recommend checking Vampire Lounge out. I hear they have a sitting area for groups upstairs, perfect for a business meeting. (har-har) ;)
Wow, I'm really surprised how much I enjoyed this place, mainly because I'd never heard of the winery before and was thinking it'd be more about image than taste, but I'm happy to say we really enjoyed everything we had. We ended up bringing a bottle of Trueblood Pinot home as it was our favorite of the evening.
The bartender is super cool and the crowd is mellow and interesting. We all sat at the bar and just chatted about whatever, randomly.
Will definitely be back!
Great fun place in one of the douchiest areas of L.A.
I expected to be surrounded by wankers talking about scripts and producer things, but the regular in there with us was a lovely guy just reading a paper and enjoying a wine flight.
Wife and I ordered a flight of reds and enjoyed them immensely. The barman was friendly and knowledgable, as was the bar-girl just hanging out before her shift.
Great friendly staff, delicious wines and a lovely, refreshingly relaxed and hearty vibe you don't expect in the heart of the beast.
Would love to go again. Shame they don't have a deal with the restaurants nearby to bring their food over so they can open early for us morning winos. :)
Cute, super chill place with nice decor. Â It's smaller than I had anticipated, but I liked that it was cozy. Â We went for a birthday and had reserved the second floor area for our party. Â Loved the chandeliers and the cute lil' book shelf with real books! Â The couches were comfy and the pillows added a nice, elegant touch. Â The ambiance was definitely vampire-y, but at the same time very relaxing. Â It felt like we were chillin' at someone's house drinking wine and champagne. Â They even helped us order take-out to eat there since they only had cheese, charcuterie and fruit. Â The bartender was super friendly and very accommodating. Â Loved that there was easy, free street parking!
Review Source:I like this place. Something about the small, intimate atmosphere, and the vampire name. They only serve wine from this particular vineyard, which is basically a very smart strategy on the part of the winery. They have samplers that allow you to try a little bit of everything (similar to wine tasting in Napa or Santa Barbara), or you can order straight bottles/glasses like you would anywhere else. The prices are reasonable and won't bleed you dry (har-har). Also, the one bartender was very friendly and super helpful when recommending what to sink your teeth into.
The best place to be is upstairs, where they have a few comfortable couches for you and your friends to lounge around. If you get here early enough, I highly recommend snagging a spot so you and your posse and cozy it up and enjoy a very easygoing, relaxed, and exclusive ambience.
Only things I would dock this place on would be the wine itself which was just average and the closing time, which was about midnight when most other bars close around 2. But those are small issues compared to the overall environment of the place, and I had to admit after two drinks that I was a fan... Or should I say... fang.
I want to go here every night.
I work in Bev Hills and was biting my time (har har) to get to this tasting room. I can continue making a bunch of horrible vampire jokes--esp since I love the the Vampire Diaries but can't stand Twi-tards--but I will just say this; sucking blood has never been so fangtastic!
I can't say enough good things. Â The room is gorgeous, the bartender talked to us for three hours, poured with a heavy hand and gave us so many extras that we gave him more tip than the bill was. Â He added a happy hour, olive oil and bread and some of the best champs I have had in a while. Â Get a hold of the Je'Taime, it's like being invited in....
When you are here you want to think of everyone in your life who loves vampires because they have chocolate, energy drinks, beer, vodka anything you can imagine (the owner owns http://vampire.com so you know what youre dealing with here!) They also own the Trueblood name so HBO keep out!
I had the chateau de vampire flight because it had the midnight something and the Dracula whatever.
Coming here was one of the happiest memories I have had in a while. Possibly because they are also playing "Nosferatu" in the bathroom.
Small, quaint bar. Great place to unwind in a low key atmosphere. Chat amongst friends or make a few new ones but definitely not a big bar. I sipped my champagne upstairs in the Vampire's lair. Fabulous champagne. Lush couches and pillows. They also have books and tarot cards to look at. Parking is a little tricky but def worth it! I would def go back and buy that bottle of rose champagne I had, Je'taime.
Friendly bartender. Service really makes a difference.
Private parties are welcomed. Looks like a great place to have a small gathering with vino lovers!
Went here on a very quiet Thursday to meet a lady friend for the first time. Since there were only two other people there, there was no competition for the cool little table in the window. We got a couple of flights to share and try the different wines.
The bartender was awesome -- she was fun when introducing the different wines, and kept the place open long after their normal hours, so we could enjoy all of the wines. It's hard to describe the ambiance on a typical night, since it was so dead when we were there, but I look forward to trying it again.
Quaint, swanky little wine bar. Their wine flights are a definitely must-try if you're interested in sampling some of their variety of wines. The upstairs section isn't something you see often.. definitely a lounge-y vibe although not a huge space for large groups. The bartender was helpful and well-versed in wine knowledge. It's bougie but what else is expected in Beverly Hills? :)
Review Source:I went here with a group of friends and we got a bottle of Chateau du Vampire Midnight Rendezvous, a red wine. We also ordered a cheese plate with bread. I didn't care much for the wine, mostly because I like dessert wines. But if you like reds, this is a good one.
The service was really good too. They recommend which wines are good and let us try the wine first before ordering a bottle or glass.
This place is good with a group of friends because upstairs has couches where you can sit and talk.
Last month I was searching the internet to see if a Vampire Play was going on anywhere in Los Angeles being that it was October, I was really hoping to find one. Alas, none were found ( sad face) Â However, I came upon a link for The Vampire Lounge. I thought to myself how have I not heard about this place? If you know me IRL you know how much I adore all things vampire. When other little girls wanted to be a ballerina when they grew up, I wanted to be a vampire.
Every Halloween since the mid 1990's I have bought Vampire Wine. I even have an un-opened bottle when it was still imported from Transylvania 2003 vintageish now!
Last night a few friends and I ventured to the Vampire Lounge. We got there kinda late for a Sunday night, it was 10ish. The gal working Shannon, was nice enough to stay open later then closing, such a sweet thing to do! Vampire Lounge is very cozy inside and nicely decorated. We sat upstairs in the Vampire Lair. Everyone tried a different wine and all seemed pleased. I had the champagne it was cool and crisp. Next time I come I plan on trying the wine flight, to find the perfect wine and getting one of the small bites offered.
I will definitely be back many MANY more times.
I don't even know where to began! I'm not sure how I heard of this place, but I guess it was just meant to happen. The bf and I are not much drinkers well maybe his not I am (jiji). But when I heard " Vampires" I knew this was a place I had see. We decided to take a trip, and enjoy a glass of wine. Wow the place is small but welcoming, wines were yummy, and the service was awesome. Maybe we got there early, who knows but we got to sit in the small private room. We had the place to ourselves, it was such a great experience . We will be going there soon, maybe like next weekend. I think I found my second home! Â Oh and we got a free chocolate bar, can you say " loving it!
If you want to have a good, relax time without the hectics noises of LA I think you would love this place, you will not regret it.
Despite the fact the I took an insane amount of crap from my buddies for choosing this as a pre-game warm up spot before date night dinner last Friday, all of us came away impressed by the Vampire Lounge.
The wine was expensive but good, the atmosphere was very casual, and the service was great. Â We especially enjoyed the vampire vodka.
I'm filled with good will and good wine these days. This is another wine bar (in addition to 3Twenty South) that is worthy of a "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Oftentimes, places have one particular component that stands out and for Vampire Lounge, it's the atmosphere (which includes the people).
I showed up before my friends and was really welcomed by the bartender, as well as the people sitting at the bar. I felt like I was entering a sitcom bar, where everybody knows your name, only I was new. They made room for me at the bar and started chatting. I don't spend a lot of time in Beverly Hills but when I do, I find that there's a lot of people who almost exclusively hang out in BH and they all seem to know each other. The people here were telling me stories about the cheese shop owner down the road, the deliciousness of a local chocolatier and how they had all, at some point owned a business or two in the neighborhood. The tabloids have it all wrong; there is definitely local camaraderie and charm in BH and it was well represented at Vampire Lounge.
As I waited for my friends, I perused the menu which is filled with reds and whites, all of which come from a variety of vineyards around California. I had thought Vampire had their own vineyard but they actually serve from a variety of California vineyards that they deem 'the best'. Suffering from constant indecision, I settled on one of the flights of red wine. This is definitely the way to go. Four glasses are assembled in front of you and as each wine is poured, the bartender (whom I'm pretty sure is also the owner) explains the taste and origin. It actually makes wine tasting fun and interactive. The reds went from a lighter zinfandel up to a very robust merlot. One of them in particular was fantastic, which the bartender described as "sexy" and I ordered a full glass of that after the flight was finished.
If you're hungry, you have a few options; a cheese plate, a chocolate plate and perhaps a few other things I can't recall. I ordered the cheese plate and it was good but average.
I'm sure from what I've written you can already tell the service was perfect. I really felt like they cared if I enjoyed myself and wanted me to come back.
Decor: Two story lofted, cozy little spot with a few outdoor tables if you're so inclined. Inside, the walls are painted a very deep yellow with dark, heavy furniture throughout. The bar is a dark (?mahogany) with shelves of wine lining the walls and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. There are a few scattered tables indoors and a lofted second story that houses deep purple couches overlooking the bar below. It all works well for the gothic vampire theme and is very inviting.
Parking: metered street, pretty easy to find a spot
Really a very enjoyable place with delicious wine and amazing people. It's spots like this that really, really, really make me wish that I just led a life of leisure. Check it out!
Breathless, she stood with heart pounding anticipation. Â Her long brunette curls were swept back to expose her neck while her white nightgown billowed in the light breeze. Â Dancing mist hovered over the cold stone floor of the crypt. Â She couldn't hear or see him in the shadows but she knew he was there, biding his time and longing for the taste of warm fresh blood. Â She knew it wouldn't be long before she too was brought into the vampire realm.
A night at Vampire Lounge can be that dramatic. Â You'll be carried away to another world, outside of the hustle and bustle of LA. Â Inside, you'll drink intoxicating wines and indulge on tasty bites. Â Whether you sit at the bar or go upstairs to a comfy couch, you'll enjoy your time here. Â Jennifer, the bartender, takes a special interest in making guests feel welcome with superior service.
And a note for the fellas... my date said that she gave me extra points for bringing her here. Â I haven't seen the scoreboard, but I think that's the sign of a great place.
A good friend of mine suggested we have cocktails after work last week. Â Her suggestion was the Vampire Lounge. Â Arriving early, I was greeted by the bartender, Igor who welcomed me to the establishment. Â Ordering a glass of the Chateau du Vampire, we sparked up a great conversation. Â Later my party arrived and Igor, the constant professional poured and educated us. Â Later we were joined by Jen, who was gracious and every so nice.
The atmosphere is superb; not at all gaudy or tacky like one would probably expect when hearing the name Vampire Lounge. Â One glass turned into 3 as we all talked about life, love, music and what makes us human. Â
Definitely a return place. Â I highly recommend going there.
(had to open up a new account on Yelp as my old one is gone. Â oh well, new place, new account, new beginnings. Â Take a drink here!)
This place is awesome - we went with a few friends and hung out in the upstairs lounge area. Â Comfy couches. Â The owner kept bringing us delicious bottles of wines and these round dime-shaped dark chocolate bits that were DELICIOUS. Â I kept asking for more because they were so freaking good. Â
Great place to hang out and chill-ax with a group of friends. Â Owner is very friendly and the service is great. Â Can't say too much about the wine because I was in a non-drinking phase then - had a few sips here and there.
I finally stopped by here last night. Adorable spot, yummy wines, champagne, small plates and more. Â A great spot to host an intimate birthday party in their upstairs lounge or just hang with friends over a drink. Â The location is a bit unassuming, not sure a lot of people know it's there. Â Also I think it's awesome all the neighborhood store owners and employees hang there. Â Great happy hour too!
I will be back!
