Don't you just love family-owned establishments? People that really care about their craft and they do it really well. The Venus is just that. This is a small family diner with a lot of character. I've had nothing but good experiences here. Yes, it's typical diner food but there's something about it that makes it extra special. Just a note: The prices are amazing here.
Their homemade falafel was AMAZING. Super moist yet crunchy on the outside. It came with fresh/creamy tzatziki sauce that just put it over the top. We ordered lamb gyros along side a huge Greek salad. The lamb was very tender and seasoned well. And not to mention it came on a nice big toasty piece of pita bread. There's nothing like it.
I'll definitely continue to come back here. Everyone has been nothing but friendly. (If you're unsure of what you want -- ask for tastings! They will gladly give you a sample of the food. I recommend doing this for their soups.) The service is great, atmosphere is relaxed and the food... yummy.
Microwaved spinach pie is gross  and that is what they serve. You can't eat it until the center cools and by that time the phyllo is as hard as a rock.  They ovens don't they? I mean, they are supposed to cook the food right? I can buy frozen food and put it in the microwave at home. Next time I want spinach pie I am going to Publix.
