Wow! Amazing burger!! We also had a delicious strawberry margarita and finished it off with a peanut butter and jelly shake that blew my mind. A little spendy for a burger place but definitely delicious!

Delicious burgers and fries!  I'm not the person who remembers every burger they've ever eaten, but the Madison was amazing.  The fries were the best I've ever eaten too.  The only downside was it was so much food, I had to take half of my food home, and everyone knows day-old fries are not nearly as good as just out of the fryer. Next time, I'm going to try the Pike, which I've heard is so spicy it causes tears to roll down your face.  Yum.

One star removed for slow service - I sat at the bar, and it was really tough to get their attention.

AMAZING. Literally the best burger my boyfriend and I have ever had. Toasted garlic fries are amazing as well! Very cool atmosphere as well.

8oz Burger Bar serves amazing burgers but the service is abit lacking. It took us 20 min to order our food and another 20 min to receive it. We ordered The 8 oz, which was so good. The patty was cooked perfectly medium and I really like that the burger stood tall vs flat and wide. The argula and truffle aoili was a nice touch as well.

The sides we ordered included onion rings, fried green tomato, and a house salad. They were alright, nothing special in terms of flavor. I think next time we'll try the poutine or truffle potato skins.

Last night I had my first 8oz Burger experience...actually I doubled up the patty, so I guess you could call it 16oz Burger experience! Great taste from the NW grass fed beef to the seasoning & bonus points for the lettuce wrap.

I have really emotional ties to this place, as it's where I fell in the kind of love that Taylor Swift writes songs about (the romantic songs, not the breakup ones!) -- so it brings up warm and fuzzy feelings when I think about all the good times I have had and all the good times I will have with my beloved -- bacon Brussels sprouts.

I had never met a Brussels sprout I liked until I came here for an Elite event and was served these babies (they were way tastier than babies, fyi) -- honestly, if this place was 8oz Brussels Bar, I'd totally love them just as much.

Whether I'm boozing, carbloading on their fantastic milkshakes, or (now that I'm sugar-free) partaking in their delightful unsweetened iced tea, from start to finish 8oz has been a fantastic experience on every occasion.

Most importantly, they have really good meat. Second most importantly, they have really good everything else. Thirdly, they give you enough food for leftovers -- trust me, you'll want this the next day, especially if you're drinkin' the first thing on the last paragraph's list. Whether you're hungover or not, a chunk o' burger and some Brussels sprouts later you'll feel fantastic! Even more so if your chunk o' burger is wearing a pork belly blanket -- just sayin'.

I freaking love this place, but I live so far from the Hill that I don't even think about going here nearly as often as I should.

(PS: If you have leftovers and don't want them, you should totally drop them by my place...)

Fries are good, burgers look awesome. The short rib putine was great, but I need to go back and try those burgers (maybe splurge and get two at a time).

I look forward to getting to know this place better.

After hearing from a friend it was the best burger in town, and reading the reviews, I had to go. I am a huge burger fan. I went with my wife, we started with the bacon mac n cheese, it was very good. I would get it again; not mind-blowing, but very very tasty. We both ordered shakes, they were great.

For burgers, I got the Jackson, my wife ordered the classic and added bacon. It was a good burger, but not the best burger I've had. It was too tall to take a bit of, which I found a little irritating. The flavor was really good, but not mind-blowing. My wife felt the same way. We also ordered fries, which were pretty standard fries, good and would order them again.

Overall, it was a really good meal, but wasn't everything I expected and I have had better burgers in the area. I would go back if in the area, but I won't make a special trip there.

Good service, great burgers! And they also have happy hour!

Sad that they took garlic fries off of the HH menu, but that doesn't stop me from ordering their burgers! I always come in with the intention of eating half of a burger but it just doesn't work out that way. It's that good!

It's a good thing I don't live in this neighborhood or I'd be eating this too much.

Thanks 8 Oz Burgers - before you, I didn't know I could down two burgers in one sitting. Nor did I know that scraping one off their seat with a spatula was a real life experience...

The banh mi burger has to be one of the most genius-tic combos of the American burger and Vietnamese banh mi sammich, ever.  As Will Ferrell puts it in SNL, "It is like looking into the face of God and seeing him smiling back saying, "you are my most wondrous creation.""

Unfortunately, I was too impatient to investigate another burger for my second round, so I had two banh mi burgers that day.  But rest assured, 8 Oz Burger, you will be scraping me off your seat again.

burger goodness! Along with sustainably raised beef,  they also offer lamb and wild boar!  you can even sub a patty of normal beef for grass fed beef to further soothe your conscience.  Bessy sure had a good life prior to becoming a tasty treat. The burgers are not too big and not too greasy.  Most options  are priced in the gourmet burger range well over $10 but you can get some of the more basic models under $10.

    stuff tried

wild boar burger: $12; taste the wilderness!  seriously delicious

the Madison: $11: truffle salt and aioli!

the burger of the month are usually quite interesting but a little pricier.  This month is the prosciutto burger which looks very intriguing, clocking in at $17.  The have very very thick milk shakes which are very decadent.  So thick that the biodegradable straws they are served with usually crack before you can take a swig so be ready with spoon.

Brussels sprouts and the Madison burger. Epic.

If not the best, one of the best burgers I've had, cooked to perfection at medium.

Seeing Brussels on the menu threw me off, but they were great. Fries are just as delicious, perfect salt and not too greasy.

Cool atmosphere, multiple drafts, good service. Might be tempted to revisit before I leave town on Saturday....yeah it's that kinda good!

Happy hour has a changed a bit and doesn't had as good of deals, but the burgers are still cooked to perfection and the garlic fries are a must. I love the grass-fed options on the burgers and presentation is everything. Love the jars for water and just the feel and mood of the place, awesome.

I recently visit the 8 oz. Burger Bar with my friend and her husband.  We each had a burger and we shared the garlic fries and brussels sprouts.  I also split a chocolate malt with my friend.  Yikes!  My stomach hurts just thinking about it.

Besides eating too much, the food was delicious.  I ordered the Madison burger (minus the watercress).  My only complaint is that the burger was extremely thick (I know, I know, it's in the name).  However, I ate every bite and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had.  Prices are very reasonable and you can park for free in the QFC deck.

Great potential, needs some work.  Burger & Fries both top notch.  It is hard to cook a burger that thick to a perfect medium rare.  Decor looked like an afterthought, get rid of all the knickknacks and the cheesy cow mural.  Staff had the typical Capitol Hill "I am too good to be a server" attitude.  Can't wait for the one in Ballard . . .

OMG. I LOVE this place. Came here for dinner one evening and it was amazing.

The 8 ounce burger is SO good, maybe the best burger I've ever had and I've definitely had more than my fair share.

I also bumped this up to 5 stars because of the price. By LA standards, I'm used to paying $10 for a beer, and at this place it was only around $6!!!!!! They had quite an impressive list on tap so my bf and his friend had fun, while I nursed a cherry cider which was sooooo good. Also, from travelling I had gotten used to paying for $15 burgers in Napa so an $11 burger for what I had gotten was amazing.

Bf got the 8 ounce burger, and I ate a lot of it because the truffle flavor with the bacon was just exquisite. Though the truffle flavor was a bit overwhelming (I had to switch bites between this and my burger) it was still amazing. For a truffle lover, you can definitely get your fix here. I got the Madison which was still good, but as soon as I had the bite of the 8 ounce, I would easily trade it.

Our friend got the burger of the month which was 10% bacon (nothing compared to Slater's but maybe better) and it had a cheese center I think.

The worst thing about this place was the artichoke appetizer, there was almost no meat on them and it was pretty much just sucking on leaves for the lemon juice, do not get these. The onion rings were good but nothing phenomenal. Dessert was also kind of meh, we had the bacon crumble bread pudding.

Parking is relatively easy, it's shared with the QFC's stucture.

*Had The Hill Burger and had them throw a Serrano on it, no joke, might be best burger I ever ate.
*Service was prompt and their drinks are stellar, new fav place!

This is one of my favorite "gourmet burger" places. I've tried a lot of burger places, but this one definitely stands out. The vibe, service, drinks, and food are all great.

The pike burger (good if you like spicy!) and garlic fries are awesome, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything here.

This place is quite popular and can get crowded during the dinner rush. I'd recommend coming in later as it's open quite late for no wait.

They have happy hour specials on drinks and food 4-6pm and 10pm-close every day except Sunday. Check their website for their monthly burger special!

Wow wow wow, this may be my go-to place for a good burger here in Seattle.

I've only tried the 8 oz. Burger off the menu, but that is enough to win my favor for this place. The burger was so flavorful and moist, and the truffle oil on it (I'm not usually that big of a fan of truffle oil either) was subtle enough to just add a hint of truffle taste to it. I don't know if I want to try any of the other burgers now, since this one was so tasty.

The cocktails are also really good here, so order a few with your burger! I don't think any of them will disappoint you. Their sangrias are definitely along the much more fruity side than wine side, but I like it that way.

Overall, my experience was fantastic here. The service was great, the food great, and the drinks great- what more could someone ask for? 8 oz Burger Bar, you have my business for all my burger needs.

This is one of my favorite burger places in Seattle, and I am picky about my burgers.

We used the Cocktail Compass app to find this place and it said happy hour had already started. We got there and were informed that it was still about 45 minutes away from starting, and they'd been trying to get the app to change it for months.

We were disappointed and shyly asked if we could just have a drink in the meantime and wait, expecting to be turned away from our table and moved to the bar. Our server said it was no problem and took our drink orders.

After happy hour started, I was dreading ordering because neither of us can have buns. Not only did the server say it was fine, he even offered to have them wrapped in lettuce. I guess a lot of places are doing this now, but I had never been made that offer and I was really pleased. With it being a burger place, I'd been expecting something just short of being berated for not wanting a bun.

The food was really great. Even the fries were fantastic. What really impressed me, though, was the drink. I told our server the type of drinks I like and he came back with some kind of lavender (and possibly bourbon?) concoction that was crazy delicious. I believe he mixed it himself.

This place is just great. Great homey feel, not too cramped, good service, amazing food and drinks!

This is hands down my most favorite burger joint. Not only are their burgers super tasty and meaty, everything else on the damn menu that I've tried is so damn good!

They also have an awesome happy hour! I've come here many times since they've opened and have yet to be disappointed. Their burgers come out perfectly cooked every single time. The folks that work here are also super friendly and helpful. The drinks are also really good and strong too! They really know how to run a top-notch business here! I feel like I'm in straight up heaven with every bite of their deliciousness! When they had the Amazon deal, I nabbed as many as I could (2), and I told all my friends to get one as well. I feel so lucky that it is right around the corner from me. Yes, I live right by heaven, burger heaven that is! I'll be back very soon!!! Save me a seat!

Order the 8oz burger. This was one awesome... probably one of my favorite burgers ever next to Father's Office.

Beechers cheese, an 8 oz patty, truffle aioli, and balsamic onions and bacon. Delicious is all I can say. The truffle aioli makes this. Its so mushroomy truffly, smooth and delicious, and they put a generous amount so that each bite has the awesome exotic ingredient. The bacon surprisingly went unnoticed for me, and as a big a bacon lover as I am, I think this is mainly because the meat quality is good, the truffle sauce was great, and the beecher's flagship complimented the burger in a way where the slight sharpness did not over power the truffle. The balsamic onions were also very fragrant and not overly sour and also somehow didn't conflict with the other flavors but instead melded into awesomeness. The brioche bun or challah bun was good at soaking up all the juices and sauce... wow... messy but super delicious burger.

They did slightly overcook my medium rare to a medium, but despite that, it was still such an amazing burger. still despite this, this burger slayed me and actually kept me full for like a half day.

Best burgers in Seattle. There, I said it.

Try the wild boar or the banh mi for something adventurous. Or if you are feeling fishy, the filet of fish is cooked perfectly. And of course, you can't go wrong with the classic 8 oz. I love that they do a burger of the month as well to test out new recipes as that's how the banh mi burger got started! Also has a great happy hour for small snacks like bacon and bacon brussel sprouts (I think I might like bacon...).

Drinks are creative and delicious. I've requested a surprise drink and the bartender just asks for my general craving at the moment and somehow creates a tasty concoction.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. The decor is Pinterest-worthy. I can't say enough good things. And there's even free parking in the QFC parking lot (a rare find for Capitol Hill)! The only thing to be wary of is that this place can get real busy on a Friday or Saturday night. Otherwise, grab your friends and bring your appetite!

I have visited 8oz probably a dozen times since writing my first review... with friends, co-workers, late night, etc.

Yesterday, I showed up with a group of 7 to celebrate my youngest sisters 20th birthday... I did not call ahead or make reservations.

There was a newer (I have not seen her before) waitress named Yolanda (spelling?) that was extremely gracious and spoke to her co-workers to accommodate our rather large group, even though they had upcoming reservations.

She was extremely friendly and up-beat, and made the overall experience worth it.

Thank you Yolanda and 8oz staff! :)

Perfection. Crazy good flavours, attn to detail in everything, great staff. They make a great old fashion!!!!! You might be thinking they are easy to make (something I once thought), but a bar around the corner totally ruined an old fashion so getting one of the best I've here was awesome!!!

Smoke Salmon Deviled Eggs = my roommate had an "O. Face, quite possibly had an "O", but that my friends you'll never know.

Hamburgers = they rivaled the quality of Bachi Burger in Las Vegas and that my friends is the greatest compliment I can give!!!!!

One of my 4 favorite burgers in Seattle.
Problem?  The kitchen is SOOO SLOW!  Don't go in there with less than an hour on your hands.  Calling ahead for takeout?  Plan on 45 minutes.

I am writing this review based on the service we received. Overall, the food was amazing.

I purchased the Amazon Local deal for 8 oz burger bar and was very excited to take my sister and her husband there for her birthday. Before we were seated, I told the host that I had purchased the deal and would like to use it for our meals. He said yes, and made no mentions of it not being allowed for use for Happy Hour.

We ordered food and drinks prior to Happy Hour. During that time, our server Veronica was very rude and standoffish. When she did bring the 'birthday treat' for my sister, she 'threw' the desert on table -- with not even a greeting or a smile.

When it came time for payment, we told Veronica we had the deal and she simply stated that it was 'not allowed' and stormed off. My boyfriend followed her and explained that we had ordered several drinks and the poutine before Happy Hour. She rolled her eyes and whined under her breath and grabbed the receipt. When she returned, she reeked of attitude and resentment.

Once again, the food was amazing. The burgers were kick ass and the peanut butter shake was delicious. We just had the unfortunate luck of dealing with a waitress that obviously hates her job. Everyone else was great. If the deal was not allowed for HH, please add that onto the Amazon Local Deal guidelines.

    Thanks

1 star. First the vibe is great and the employees are friendly, second my burger was not quite what I expected. (My homemade burgers are much better) despite its a big burger 8oz. of beef, But the spice factor is something they need to work on, no, the owner or chef need to add some kind of spice to it...third, my drink was excellent...

I'm not going to write a whole story why they deserve 1 star. Fact of the matter is the big burger $8+ comes with out fries. (Im no fan of french fries) c' mon now, I think its outrageously overpriced.

I'm just saying: want a burger? Go to Lil Woody's on Pine st. and Bellevue Ave.
I don't own any shares but El Gaucho got cheaper burgers.

    PRETZEL BUN IS SO GOOD!

I loved this place so much. I love the decor and the atmosphere it brings.
Room temperature water is my favorite at restaurants, it's so easy to drink and just makes me all around happy. I know this sounds outrageous to say but who cares it's my review.

    VEGGIE BURGER ALL THE WAY.
Minus the avocado because I am a weird vegetarian who hates it. Add mushrooms and it becomes one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. I loved the pretzel bun so much. I hate burgers where the bun is too hard to eat + it's too big for my mouth to eat. This was perfect. Messy, but perfect.  Add a house salad to that and it's a great meal. The garlic fries are delicious and I love them. The rosemary sweet potato tots were just as good and I am not even a huge fan of sweet potatoes so I was impressed.

A must visit place when I return to Seattle.

It's a sad day when you go to a burger joint and the best thing is the roasted garlic broccolini side.

When they say that not all burgers are created equal, they really are right. It may not have helped that I had the fillet of fish on a gluten free bun, with no sauce or pickles, but the thing was so bland. The bun was dry and falling apart. The fish had very little/no seasoning. And well, the baby arugula... I might have seen it if I got my magnifying glass out. This burger was $11. I'm thankful I ordered a side of roasted garlic broccolini. That side saved the day.

My total bill was ~$20, including tip etc. That's bloody expensive for a burger and some veg, especially when it's so unimpressive. In fact, that's 1/4 of my weekly grocery bill, and I buy all organic food.

It would be fair to say that the staff were attentive and helpful. My colleagues enjoyed their beef burgers, which was great. The portions of fries are pretty large. But each of us must have paid around $20 or so. Again, that's steep for a burger.

My friends and I were craving a burger and a few drinks so we decided to stop by here due to the ratings here on Yelp.  The restaurant wasn't to busy so we were seated right away.  I love the decor of this place. Our waitress was very attentive and we got there 10 minutes before the end of HH so we got to order some items from there.

I ordered the Jackson burger which had fried green tomato and it was pretty good! One thing is that you have to order the fries separate.  Sucks because the burger alone was $11 bucks.  But next time I come here I want to try out the kimchee pork belly sandwich since it was recommended by a friend.

Classic 8 oz. burger is worth a repeat, for sure!  Couple that with the fries, and this place is a winner!

The bartender here should get some attention - the fact that we weren't seated at the bar, yet he still came by to ask if we'd like anything, and came by again and again to make sure we were in good hands - deserves kudos. So, thank you Mister Bartender!

So while I really despite eating in places that feels the need to slap images of the animals you're about to eat, 8 oz. Burger Bar delivers some good quality food. And I can appreciate that!

    WOW!

If I had unlimited money and no history of cardiac arrest in my family, I'd eat here everyday.

The burgers are tasty.  My man - the Classic 8 oz sans fries.  Me, the Pork Belly Kimchi.  8oz was excellent though Pork Belly fell short (I'm Asian so an Asian thing has to be really Asian and really good to catch my attention).  Prices are a bit stiff = $8 for the burger and $4 for the garlic fries = $12.00 for a burger and fries.

This is WAY out of my hood but might come back for a HH.  Service was very good and friendly.  Went on a coupon type deal and wasn't a problem at all.

    Just... Wow.

Decided to grab a bite from 8 oz Burger Bar after spending the better part of a Saturday afternoon exploring Rattlesnake Mountain Trail. We had no reservations and were a bit surprised by the 25 minute wait but we decided to stay because a) HUNGER and b) our earlier hike did a number on my knee so walking anywhere else was simply not on the agenda that evening.

I'm incredibly glad we did, though, because they hit it out of the park! Our server was friendly and attentive, especially given how busy they were, and the burgers (me: the Madison and bf: the 8 oz) were phenomenal. Half-way through dinner we knew we were headed straight for a food coma but, much like our attitude on the trail earlier, we'd come so far and there was no turning back. Must. Carry. On.

And carry on we did. We managed to consume all of our burgers, a side of brussel sprouts and most of our fries before deciding to roll ourselves home. (Note: If possible, I'd suggest walking home after dinner here to aid the digestion process.)

I don't eat burgers often enough to make this one of my regular joints but I will certainly return the next time nothing but a gigantic, juicy burger will do!

I'll lead with the good, maybe even the great; unfortunately it is only true on paper. The menu. Everything sounds delicious. Unfortunately that is where it ends. We really wanted to like this place, good Amazon Local deal, a few blocks from home, and some positive hype...

We ordered their Pike Burger, Veggie Burger, and Short Rib Poutine. The patties were fine, unfortunately both burgers were served with a ridiculous amount of aioli and an offensive amount of dry/stale bread. Who wants a 6" tall burger?  Apparently there was avocado and onion on the veggie burger, we found this out when we scraped off the sauce and tossed the bun. My girlfriend's pike burger had a nice kick to it, but again, hard to get through all of that sauce. Finally, they cheat on their poutine using some sort of cheese sauce instead of real cheese curds.

We will be back at least two more times to burn through these deals and try some other options but neither one of us is really looking forward to the trip. Maybe it was an off night? One thing is certain; we will get whatever sauces there are on the side. I'll update if round two changes my mind.

:::Update for Trip 2::: This time we ordered the pork belly kimchi sandwich, pork shoulder burger, and normal fries - the inners of the sandwich were tasty, pork was tender and kimchi was spicy enough but that bread was soaked in butter and then pan fried - it was gross. The pork shoulder burger was much better than the pike burger and the bun was softer (I think they use the same bun for all their burgers which makes me think the pike burger bun was old or stale) but again, that aioli was just too heavy... The fries were excellent.

The theme of 8 oz is that they have trouble striking a balance, it isn't difficult to make a good tasting grease burger soaked in aioli with rich buttered bread... Who wants that? 8 oz is the burger equivalent of Sarah Palin - in the end it is just a dressed up ill-prepared disaster with some bells and whistles that lasts just long enough to distract you before the self loathing kicks in 4 bites deep.

    Third, and final review forthcoming!

2.5 stars. Hoping it'll go up after I try some of their other burgers. After a total disappointing experience at Lil Woody's, I was excited to try 8oz which I knew had to be better from reading all the positive reviews, not to mention seeing how perfectly assembled they all are.

We ordered 3 things: pike burger, veggie burger, and short rib poutine.

pike burger: it's their spicy burger, and while it was spicy, it had sweetness too which was overpowering.  I found bits and pieces of corn kernels which were unexpected. The beef patty was thick and juicy, and well cooked (medium). There was an issue with the bread--while it looks pretty in pictures, it was just too much; I took off the top slice.

veggie burger: comes on a pretzel bun. It's not bad, but again, too much bread. If you're a carb-lover, you might like it.  It's smothered in sauce (aioli), and comes with a little tiny bit of avocado and onion that hide under the sauce.

short-rib poutine: extremely rich, and... fatty. the more I ate it and thought I enjoyed it, the more sick I felt.  You definitely have to share this one if you decide to get it yourself. The cheese was some kind of melted cheese--not cheese curds--and the fries were mediocre.

***I had the leftovers for breakfast (half pike burger and ~cup poutine) and thought I couldn't eat til dinner. I felt like the fattiness of the meal should hold me over until then, but alas, I did get hungry a couple hours later.

These burgers are fit for Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler.  Sure you can take itty bitty bites and not have a condiment face but what's the fun in that?

It has a faux Texas steakhouse feel to it like Brave Horse Tavern or Jimmy Macs.  I guess the difference is that you get your food faster at those locations.  8 oz. probably has a small kitchen in the back.  My co-workers and I got there before the dinner rush and within 15 minutes of sitting at our table there was a line outside the door.  Tara was our server and she was very friendly.  I had the fillet of fish burger.  My co-workers had the 8 oz. burger.  We shared the Beechers Mac & Cheese as well as the Plate O' Bacon.  We all enjoyed our food.

It's a good burger place for Capitol Hill but it can't beat Zippy's in White Center nor can it beat Katsu Burger in Georgetown.

Went there after a friend bought some AmazonLocal deals. The waiter was nice enough to let us use both of our coupons on one meal (there were 3 of us) and it's my friend's brother's favorite burger place so we checked it out to see if its up to par.

We had the 8oz and the Jackson, garlic fries, onion rings, and mac and cheese. Definitely a solid burger. The mac and cheese was also good, though it had a bit of a flair to it; there was  cinnamon or nutmeg flavor to it that added a bit of sweetness I'm not used to. Not my favorite but I think I like to go for a bit of spice than sweetness. I definitely appreciate the twist they added to it though. Fries and onion rings also delicious, onion rings a bit on the greasy side.

Service was quick. If you don't have a reservation, you might be waiting for 30-40 minutes. We ended up doing some grocery shopping at the nearby QFC so it worked out. Overall, good food and good atmosphere. I'm not sure if I would make the effort to drive out for a $13 burger but if you're feeling something a bit more gourmet, this definitely will hit your spot.
