Antonio's Pizzeria & Wine Bar

So, I walked here from LaGuardia Airport yesterday. I have no way to verify this, but I may be the first person who has done that. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by everything about this place. It was an extremely clean, modern place with nice stonework, a cool little wine bar, and a full dining room.

The pizza was awesome. I mean, really good. I know everyone has got their own opinion about NY pizza, but this is definitely up there with any of the big boys in Manhattan in terms of quality and taste. Although I only had the pizza this time around, the couple next to me was raving about the food (they were clearly Italian, so they have some credibility there) and it looked really good.

Pricing is unreal if you are used to Manhattan prices (also I live in the Hamptons part time, so I'm no stranger to the $4 slice). Very reasonable, and you get a lot for what you pay.

Staff was friendly and accommodating and very efficient.

Next time I'm in Astoria or headed to the airport, I will definitely make this a destination. Highly recommended.

This place is fairly new and is located in a residential neighborhood right by Riker's Island. So that means they must be friendly since there customers are families and people protecting NYC from bad people. They are extremely friendly. It's not a busy joint but the people who work there are nice and the service is good. It's more like a Bar with a pizzeria in the back. So if you go there to eat don't expect a 5 star joint. It is a friendly environment, never packed because of the small clientele. They have TV's to watch sporting events.

I usually order out from this place. I usually get a pasta dish. I haven't had a bad one yet. They are all good. They also have delicious salads as well. There portions are big so your dollars are well spent and there will be left overs. This place want to take care of you. Sometimes when I order late at night, right before they are closing. They give me 3 orders of garlic knots when I order only 1 because they don't want to waste food. I like this place. It's very unknown but sometimes those are diamonds in the ruffs.

This place is more a 4 than a 5 star spot. But becouse of these negative reviewsI have to bump it up. I had the chicken parm and my wife had penna vodka and both where really good. I went back and had the alfredo and that was really good. I cant speak for the pizza but the wine food and desert where really good. At the same time i only eat pizza from a few select spots so I wouldnt even try it here.  This place is anice casual spot where you can get a quick cheap meal. Is it the best in astoria No but no lines good prices and a quick meal gets me every time.
