Came here on a Friday night about 8:30 and it was super packed. My husband and I squeezed our way past the bar and eventually made it to the hostess station. We requested a table away from the live band, preferably upstairs, since I had lost my voice and could barely talk. I guess the waitress didn't remember that because after our 15 minute wait we were seated right near the band. We probably should have just said something but I just never do that for some reason.
I ordered their bacon-infused old fashioned which tasted...non-bacony. Honestly, I tasted no difference from any other old fashioned I've ever had but maybe I just was expecting too much. For my entree I ordered the fish and chips, which were okay, nothing special at all. The band that night was pretty good and I would have enjoyed them more if I was able to talk over them a little. Also, I would have liked to sit and stay awhile but the place was filling up with people standing and waiting for a seat. I felt uncomfortable "hogging" a table and enjoying another drink. Meh, I think I might try this place for lunch some time but certainly not another Friday night.
I have been to Arnold's many times over the years and is always a great time. Â The bar area is a bit small, but has that beautiful old charm! Â The outdoor patio is lovely. Â Â They have a nice selection of beers on tap and the food is great. Â My two favorite dishes are the Greek Pasta and the Pasta Androski!
Review Source:The Cincinnati legend! It took me a couple years to get back up here for whatever reason, but it was still just as I remember. It's old and unique, and doesn't have to try to impress you.
You gotta love the patio between the buildings. I just went while it was in the 30's and freezing rain, but they had the opening securely covered and it was nice and cozy between the buildings. There's usually some live music being played, and they post schedules around.
They keep a nice selection of beer that changes with the season, and these always include a lot of local brews such as Rivertown, Mt. Caramel, Listermann's, and of course Moerline. Gotta respect a place that carries Listemann's on tap. Their food is recipes long in the making, and you probably won't go wrong with anything you get. I went with the Sicilian Linguine, and man was it good. I'm a fan of Greek oil, olive, and tomato-based dishes, and Arnold's knows how to do it right.
I'm going to make it a point to get down here over the summer for some lunch so I can properly enjoy the patio on a warm, Cincy day.
