I was so pleased with my experience at Bella Luna this past weekend. The service, atmosphere, and food were all deserving of 5 stars.
Since it was my first time at this restaurant and because it was a Saturday, I decided to make reservations ahead of time and I was thrilled to see I could do that online using Open Table. I'm very happy I did this because the place was packed! Even though they were slammed, we were greeted by a smiling hostess who promptly seated us.
This cozy little restaurant had a great "homey" feel. The lighting and funky furniture made for a warm and inviting environment. The walls were covered with photos and other art work that made it feel welcoming. While the restaurant was very packed, our little table still managed to feel intimate.
I had the Buffalo Mozzarella appetizer, which was tasty, but nothing special. After the appetizer came the salad and bread. Wowza, the bread and garlic butter it was served with was amazing! I could have eaten the bread and butter for dinner and been happy. Ok...not really, but it was so, so good.
For my entree, I ordered the Portabello Ravioli with the sweet red pepper sauce on the side. I also order a side of the Arrabbiata sauce. I'm not a fan of red peppers, that is why I ordered the sauce on the side, but man was I wrong. The sweet red pepper sauce was very tasty! They've converted me! The arrabbiata sauce was also delicious. Two very different sauces, but equally tasty. I would recommend both!
I ordered tiramisu for dessert (my favorite) and had high expectations for this Italian treat. It was just as good as I had hoped for and the portion was just right.
Phenomenal dinner! Â The food was superb, from the calamari to the succulent meal and outrageously scrumptious bread pudding. Â And the service was also spectacular--we were treated like family (just what you want at an Italian restaurant). Â It was our first time there, but we will be back!!
