Thank God, I never have to hear "YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO TERRY'S TURF CLUB?!" again!
Terry's certainly lived up to it's legend in my book. Â Luckily, I didn't have to wait 2 hours for a table like I have so often heard! We came in around 2pm on a Friday and the place was empty save for maybe 2 tables. Â No wonder there is a long wait on the weekends- the place seats maybe 50 people (including the bar). Â We sat at the bar area and Tom was our server. Â He was so friendly and helpful and we loved chatting with him while we waited. Â
We split a regular cheeseburger- no fancy toppings just wanted to get the real deal and we were not disappointed. Â The burger was fantastic and the fries were also outta this world. Â
Terry's also gets extra points for having Hop-Slam, which nobody can seem to keep in stock at most of the bars we go to lately! Â Triple points for letting us try a few beer samples that the staff were trying after their distributor dropped off a few bottles. :)
Will definitely be back!

Burger Qwest just added another notch on the belt thanks to Terry's!
I didn't expect to get into this place when while visiting Cincinnati late on a Friday afternoon. Â A group of 10 of us headed over and we were greeted from the street by a line going out the door. Â I ran quickly to ask about wait time. Â The hostess inquired if all 10 of were ready....Sure, we're all here and she said "let's go!" Â What I found out that they have over-sized booths that hold 6-8 which are held for larger groups. I guess everyone else in line was a 2 banger. Â Right off the bat the experience was good for us.
Quickie Tippy: The turf here is made of righteous hamburger! The 5 stars is for the hamburger and that's why Terry is in business.
The burgers (see pics) are part of a gringo greatness real; THICK, JUICY, SWEATY and SEASONED. Seared on top and bottom for added flavor and then surrounded by a classic large egg bun, deep red tomato, crunchy lettuce, clean white onions, and loaded with cheeses of choice! If you can get your mouth around this baby you need to apply to Guinness for a new record! Â FYI, they put 10" wooden skewer through the middle to keep their burgers straight.
Fries are also fresh, hand cut, bigger than normal smaller than steak and they leave the potato skin on them!
So any downside??? Â I was okay with everything but I can see how some would cringe at the divey atmosphere and possibly would close their eyes while driving through the local area to get to Terry's burger haven.
I WILL visit each time I am in Cincinnati for more than an hour.
My husband and I tried Terry's for the first time last night. The burgers were very large and tasty. If you're somewhat conservative with your add-ons, it won't get too expensive. We sat at the bar and chatted with the staff off and on - very friendly and entertaining. We will definitely go back.
