Seasonal taco menu.  It's good. It's no Laguna Beach Taco Stand, but not bad for the Northwest.  For a full menu eat at their downtown site as well. (On E. Broadway).

I love the food at Belly Taqueria!  The carnitas and pollo tacos are my favorite.  The chips are amazing and the guacamole is some of the best I've ever had!  The specials are always great and exciting.  Good drinks and bartenders, too.  I go there about 3 times a month!  One of my absolute favorites for sure.  Do be aware, it's really a small space and can fill up fast so try to be patient if you happen to go during a busy time!

The tacos and drinks are amazing. It's a really small seating area and bar though, so it could be an issue if you are claustrophobic or want to be seated right away or have more than 3 people in your group, but the food is beyond worth it.

I am not sure what the hype is about for this place. The best thing I had were the pickled jalapeno peppers that were on the table when we walked in.

I ordered a glass of sangria for starters. The sangria was dark purple, almost black, and had too strong of a flavor; just what that flavor was, I am not really sure. I pawned it off on my unsuspecting, wife who arrived a little late, and got a Pacifico: sorry honey. She didn't like it either.

Two people at our table got the tortilla soup, which I was wise enough to avoid. It just didn't taste good. I got a shrimp and chicken taco that also weren't very good. The corn tortillas seemed not fresh or something because they just kind of fell apart when I picked up the tacos. I guess that just happens when you get them stuffed with ingredients, and I wouldn't have minded if it would have tasted good. The chicken taco was weirdly spiced. It was sweet, which I wasn't expecting. They weren't terrible just nothing I would go back for or recommend.

We also got the caesar salad which is grilled. I am not sure who came up with the idea of grilling lettuce, but it must have been the same people who decided it was a good idea to put cream cheese and mayo in sushi rolls.

The waitress never mentioned the specials written on the wall, so we missed out on those.

The chips and guacamole were fine.

The whole experience confirmed what has been and always will be a fact of living in Eugene. If you want Mexican food, get in your car and don't stop until you see tall buildings and neon signs of Portland or SF. Otherwise, if you want Mexican food take a cooking class and make it yourself.

"Outstanding high-end, sit-down taqueria, if that makes sense". Thanks KIrk F. - that's it exactly, and a whole lot more. Another phrase might be "Gourmet at a great price!".

I was surprised how good Taco Belly's was. As an early Belly fan, it took a while to wrap my mind around "Belly Tacos (WTF??)"  We started with a melted cheese chorizo dish that should have been better than it was. Lots of calories, forgettable taste. But the rest of our dinner was delicious, every dish. A fine tostada, a shrimp taco, a particularly nice carnitas taco - all one or two cuts above the average. I'm amazed there aren't more reviews from the Yelp community - this is an "A List" informal place.

    Fantastic Restaurant.

    Cute but Authentic Atmosphere.
    Cool, Helpful, and Capable Staff.
Plus, in my opinion, it's a helluva steal!

Try the Carnitas Taco and Tostada.
    Try the grilled Cesar Salad.
    Try the Lengua!!!!!
The Pepita dip is freaking supernatural!

Nightly Specials are always to die for and include things like OCTO-BELLY TACOS (Octopus and Pork Belly WHAT!? YES!), and Pork Confit and Roasted Tomatillo and Apple Pie. Love me some meat pie.

The only drawback is there isn't much room for waiting which can be a problem in the Winter. But if you do find yourself waiting and you're over 21 hit up the hot bar tenders to try their drink special for the night or if you're not in the mood to try something new have a Margarita.

Plus they boast the best Palomas in town and that's a FACT!

    Food-5
    Drinks-5
    Atmosphere-5
    Cost-5
    DUH!

Outstanding artisanal, high end, sit-down taqueria--if that makes sense.  The flavors are real.  Just go try it--and don't be scared off by the lengua!

Great food if you like meat of pigs!  Belly is a very delicious restaurant, with a great ambiance.  For starters we got the scotch eggs and Bacon-wrapped, manchego-stuffed dates with hazelnuts and apple - both were fantastic!  For dinner we had prawns, ribs, scallops, and the lasagna special, all of which were super good.  And we even sampled a couple desserts!  All were delish, and I would go back all the time if I lived in Eugene.  Two thumbs up!
