Before even coming to Denver, I already had this location bookmarked to try.  Luckily every in the group decided to join me on this adventure of exotic dogs.  Half of our group decided to drive there, while the other half and I decided to walk there thinking it was not far.  We walked to this location from the Sheraton which took us about 30 mins to get there.

Good idea on our part as we did not have to wait for a table since our other party got there first and saved us seats.  There were so many to choose from as I looked at the wall and knew I could not try everything I wanted.  However, my other friend was willing to split our portions three way so I was able to try 3 kinds.

We got the Elk with Jim's Classic topping, Southwest Buffalo, and Alaskan reindeer with the desert topping.  We also got the fried mac and cheese, plus an order of fries.   Mmm so yummy and so much food.  We literally stuffed ourselves trying to finish everything.  We all agreed that the Southwest buffalo was our favorite of the three.  Also the fried mac and cheese was really good as well.

When my group and I walked into Biker Jim's and looked at the chalkboard menu, our reaction was one of complete awe. Whaaaaaaaaat?! Elk, rattlesnake, and buffalo hot dogs, to name a few?! And what were these crazy toppings? And a simple but great selection of good craft beers plus PBR? Delicious all natural soda fountain? Is this real life?

Needless to say, it was delicious and worth every guilty, decadent bite. One hot dog order was definitely enough- good size in a generous and tasty bun (I hate most hot dog buns). I'm glad yet terribly sad I don't live down the street like I used to- surely this would have caused me to frequent Biker Jim's 20 too many times.

There's nothing I can really say that hasn't been said in other reviews. Unbelievable taste, uniqueness, and quality. Tried the Elk Jalapeno Cheddar and the fiance tried German Veal, both out of this world. Just wish we lived closer to be able to try everything on the menu.

This is a place that when someone is going to visit you in Colorado, you say, at least once, we are going to Biker Jim's. The locals remember it from the cart days, and now the restaurant gets all sorts of attention.

    Well deserved attention.

The menu is truly unique and creative, but not for the sake of doing so, the food TRULY TASTES GREAT.

I mean it, I don't care what you try.

I also really dig the brand. It permeates the ambiance in the employees with tats and piercings that are fun to meet, Xena overlooking the restaurant, and the solid rock playing.

If anyone from Chicago reads this, it''s similar to Kuma's Corner.

I hope this place sees a huge future, but NEVER compromises it's roots (that means don't sell out)!

I love their menu, their variety of choices & their perfectly caramelized onions. Oh yea, and the cream cheese. I've yet to try all of their dogs, my favorite one so far is the peasant and rattle snake!

Two types of vegan sausages!  One spicy, one herby.  Both were really good.  The employees were helpful in guiding us to vegan topping choices.  We also had the tahini cauliflower which I could probably eat every day.
This was inching toward the upper level of my price tolerance for hot dogs, but at least the portion size was decent and we got a ton of cauliflower. Would definitely come back!

I heard amazing things about Biker Jim's and I must say that they delivered! By far, best hot dog I have ever had. My husband works a few blocks away and he eats at Biker Jim's on a regular basis. He is addicted and I understand why.

The reason I gave them 4 stars was because their menu and options are confusing and the employee weren't  helpful in explaining it.

    I'll go back though!

My experience at Biker Jim's started out kind of romantic.

Snow was just starting to fall heavily in Denver, and I was arriving to this by pedicab. There was a also a hot girl in my pedicab with me. But, if you know me - you'd know that for this story to have gone anywhere I would have rather had the hot pedicab driver in my car instead. And I would have loved to watch the hot girl pedal the cab in heels.

    LOL.

Okay, to sum it all up -- we arrived here drunk. But the pedicab is still true, no one wants to skate in a car in snow.

I had an Elk hot dog to which I didn't know was Elk until I woke up the next day and discussed with my friend on how chewy it was. It was bold with a lot of flavor (carmelized onions, I died) -- but I remember working really hard to chew it. I also had delicious Buffalo Bleu Cheese fries while my companion had deep fried Mac and Cheese with her Elk.

The next day, I had the Bacon Wrapped Beef Hot Dog, but truth be told -- it was not like the ones I get in SF on makeshift food cart at 2am.

Sides were good, but wieners were OK. Bonus point for offering Sriracha freely as a condiment!

I liked Biker Jim but was expecting more.  The customer service seemed bored and it was a bit chaotic.
Elk dog was good but not great.
I will give them another try.

Biker Jim's is awesome and extremely ambitious. While in town with my cousin and oft-partner-in-eating-crime, we consulted Yelp as I am wont to do while in unfamiliar territories far from home.  After reading about this gem, and looking at the mouthwatering pictures, it was a no-brainer. So after battling the familiar foe that is the burden of choice, we arrived at these choices:

    Dogs/Sausages:
    Elk Jalapeno Cheddar
    Wild Boar
    Rattlesnake&Pheasant
    Duck Cilantro

    Toppings:
    Biker Jim's Classic
    The Desert
    The International

On paper, these all sounded amazing. We asked the guy taking our order to provide us with recommendations on appropriate toppings for our choice dogs. The execution left a little to be desired. The flavors were pretty good but not fully developed or realized. The gaminess of the less conventional meat extrusions we got wasn't distracting though. Surprisingly, I think my favorite of the bunch was the rattlesnake and pheasant. Both animals I'd never tried before alone, less in conjunction.

    Sides:
    Fried mac & cheese
-Great idea, but surprisingly not much flavor.
    Fried green tomatoes
-It's a weird take, and honestly more of a salad. Not bad, but far from what you'd probably expect.

    Drinks:
Boylans at the soda fountain. Awesome.

As is customary of my food adventures, it was WAY too much food but later proved to be fodder for lots and lots of Colorado's best beers.

I wanted to love it but in the end I just liked it. Definitely worth checking out if for nothing else the novelty, trying weird new meats that coasters like me don't have easy access to, getting good bang for your buck, and the great selection of local microbrews on tap.

I was at the convention center setting up the booths for old Chicago. Decided to hop on the free mall ride to Larimer and trot my way to 22ND to Jim's. Really good food

I drank the Kool-aid and i liked it too! But now i'm into beer and the Kool-aid? not so much. What I mean is I liked BJ's and have always thought that the flavor's are good but what I don't like is that there isn't enough of those good flavors. If you wanted to have a decent bite of Continental Brand Sausage in every bite of bun, you'd have to toss half your bun away. The charred cauliflower too used to blow me away and again the flavor is good but the portion size is like getting a snack size Snickers when you were expecting the jumbo size bar. Such is the way of the world I guess. Seems like everywhere you turn, product is shrinking and the prices are still going up or there's less in the package if the price is still the same. Me, I'll still be searching for a value. $1.50 for a polish and drink at Costco (or about $12-$15 bucks for an 8-pack of some of the same Continental sausages) vs $6.00 plus for one brat, add a topping for a $1, fries or a side for $2-$4, and a soft drink for $2 or a beer for $4++ at BJ's which adds up pretty quickly to easily more than $15 (they do have a combo classic for under $9 and change though). I actually went for it and got the Azteca dog, the charred cauliflower, and a Oskar Blues Deviant Dales Ale and spent over $20. Sure I'm comparing apples to oranges and anywhere you go out to eat is gonna cost you but right now my budget is leaning towards the best value and so when I splurge, I have to be extra selective on where I spend my coin. How do you roll?

AMAZING! What else can I say?

Stopped by here while in Denver with some friends who saw it featured on the Food Network. I had an Alaskan Reindeer hotdog and my wife had a Rattlesnake and Pheasant hotdog. They were both amazing! We look forward to visiting this place again next time we're in Denver!

If your looking for a gourmet hot dog, your not going to find much better than Jim's dogs. I was going to biker jim downtown denver when he had a little hot dog cart. That was about 6 years ago i started eating his dogs (and im not a  hotdog fan at all!) He hooked me with the carmelized onions, cream cheese, and obscure meats like reindeer, Boar, Duck, Elk and such. Every dog has something "special" in it as well weather it be bits of cheese, jalapeno, or seasons.  He also has specialty dogs dressed with crazy sauces or toppings. The space is laid back, very relaxed and "cool" atmosphere. I would recommend this place for all ages, and all levels of taste. Oh yeah the cauliflower appetizer/side  is SOOOOOOO good. My goodness it almost passes as a meal on its own.

I hate to deviate from all the super positive reviews, but when I think back upon my meal at Biker Jim's, my reaction is just meh. I was really looking forward to it, so maybe it was just my heightened expectations that caused for the not-so-hot experience.

After drooling over the menu for a week, I was excited to check this place out. I knew when arriving that I was going to get the duck cilantro "dog." I put "dog" in quotations because I found the texture of these to be more like sausages than hot dogs. Which is fine, just an observation. I might have made a rookie mistake in not getting any of the additional toppings, but I just wanted to taste the dog itself without gussying it up. We also got a side of fried green tomatoes.

I learned my lesson -- never order fried green tomatoes outside of the south. This was one of the most disgusting things I'd ever had. Blah. I still cannot get over it.

But now on to the main part of the meal. I could really taste duck or cilantro in my dog...and the casing was really hard to get through. I had to cut up the link and put it back on the bread to even get through it. And speaking of the bread, it totally overwhelmed the hot dog. All I tasted was bread.

My husband got the cheddar jalapeno dog and it had a good zip, but still, overall a disappointing meal.

This is not your ordinary hot dog place! They give you 'lots of food and delicious to boot! Had the wild boar hot dog with cream cheese and scallions! YUMMY! A great place to visit in Denver! They have interesting hot dogs like Elk and even Rattlesnake! Don't know that I could stomach the Rattlesnake, but if you're adventurous...! If you go for lunch, go early because we got there just in time for a long line to form out the door.  They have cart locations on the Metro State campus too! Definitely a unique and delicious menu!

Biker Jim's brings the boom!  When it comes to hot dogs, these guys are serious about their offerings.  With a laid back atmosphere and chilled out people, I can see why this place was packed from the moment we got there.  When ordering a complete meal, you can opt in for a beer instead of the soft drink.  Their soda machine has naturally flavored sodas, not the basic Coke/Pepsi product.  I went ahead and got an IPA with my Elk hot dog and it hit the spot.  I was good for the rest of the night.  The fries are great as is their fried mac & cheese.  If you're traveling with a party, have everyone get a different side item so you can split things up and get the most out of your experience!

This review is long overdue...came here in the summer (on my way to the Denver Broncos training camp) and stopped by Biker Jim. Boy oh boy, I so wish we have something like this in NY!

I practically ordered almost everything from the menu (that I could consume), although knowing that I over ordered, I wanted to taste everything!

So here it goes on my dog orders:
    - Elk
    - Duck
    - Alaskan Reindeer

    Sides:
    Tahini Cauliflower
    Deep Fried Mac & Cheese

Of the 3 dogs, duck was the least impressive as it didn't really have much gamy taste to it. However, the elk and reindeer were loaded with punches of meaty flavor. Never had mac & cheese deep fried so it's a really interesting take on a traditional comfort food. BTW, this place has more than 10 different kinds of dipping sauce (free of charge). I tasted the tomato curry sauce and it was the bomb! I could put this sauce on everything I eat.

The place is chill and really fun. The staff is super friendly. And the price is affordable.

    5 star love.

Still friendly staff- that's a given.
    Still awesome-duh.
    Still cheap-a mean or bust!
    Still delicious-cheddar jalapeno dog anyone?
    Still radtastic specials.

Still my favorite place to get my hot dog fill.
    YES!

I am really trying to cut back on my 5-star reviews, but then I find a place like Biker Jim's.  The different type of sausages and toppings I have never seen before.  You can get Elk, Boar, Rattlesnake and Veal just to name a few.  The pre-paired toppings go perfectly with almost any dog you pick.  I love the caramelized onions and cream cheese, but the list goes on and on with ingredients you most likely have never had.

Prior to filling my drink, I was only going to give Biker Jim's a 4-star rating.... then I hit the soda machine!  They are one of three restaurants in CO that have a Boylan's soda fountain.  I always go with the black cherry soda.  Had Boylan's quite a bit as a kid, so I loved to see a full size fountain for the first time!

The cherry on top was the array of condiments offered.  I knew I was in the right place after I found the curry catsup!  I can't wait to visit Denver again so I can go to Biker Jim's.

    This place is neat-o!

When I got to Denver I asked my friend, "What's awesome about Denver? What do I need to know about food here?" And she said, "We're all about meat. And wild game specifically."

Like music to my ears, I practically begged her to take me to Biker Jim's. I'm always down to try new animals and I'll basically eat anything that had parents. I know that it might sound extreme but I just really want to try everything at least once.

The menu here is so extensive that I actually ordered two dogs. Knowing I'd eat only half of each, I was still happy to pay for extra food because I couldn't decide between elk and rattlesnake. I've had elk before and absolutely loved it... But I had never had rattlesnake. So it made sense to be just to get both! Especially if the snake dog wasn't really something I could get down. Fortunately for me, both were delicious! I nearly ate all of the food but had to stop myself because my pants are already a little err... tight. Damn!

In the restaurant itself there are plenty of seats, there's a big selection of mustards and ketchups, the menu has a variety of toppings... everything here is truly customizable. I'll absolutely be telling any friends visiting Denver to pop in here for some awesome (and unique) eats.

    Hell, yes!

Searching Yelp for a Denver restaurant, Biker Jim's seemed the clear standout.  And it was so good, I came back a second time, despite my limited time in the city.

The pheasant and rattlesnake hot dog was my favorite.

I also enjoyed the wild boar and beef wrapped in bacon.  Tasty.

I did have two people recommend the beef wellington dog, so I tried that, but hated it.  One of the best parts of the other dogs was that they came in a super-chewy fresh bun.  Incredibly good.  The wellington was a flaky mess.  I'd skip it.

Skip the fries (they're nothing special) and order a second (or third) dog.  You'll be glad you did.

... plus, awesome soda selections... and adult beverages if you want 'em!

Super mega bonus: During my first visit, the woman cooking up the food was drop dead gorgeous.

As I ate here, I strongly contemplated moving to Denver.

If Anthony Bourdain says it's good, it usually is.

HOT DAMN. This place is awesome. Where else can you get a reindeer hot dog? Or a rattlesnake/pheasant dog? I had a hard time choosing which exotic beast that I wanted to eat that day. Also offered: elk, wild boar, buffalo, and duck. I hear the cart and/or truck offer yak as well.

We also sampled the fried green tomatoes and charred cauliflower. Both were pretty good. The tomatoes weren't as good as homemade or any you'd find in the dirty South but they were passable.

The atmosphere was pretty cool. It fit well with the name of the establishment, Biker Jim's.

Great beer selection (many local brews) and really great local soda selection.

I cannot wait to go back to Denver and try some other weird ass hot dogs at Biker Jim's.

Freakin' hell yeah!  I'm not much of a meat eater...much more a carb girl.  BUT this place just does it right.  First we went to the cart, where there were no options for my "I-don't-eat-anything-that-crawls-on-all-four" husband.  I had ordered a yak sausage (not avail here at the sit down place), and after one bite, I immediately dragged my husband to here.  There was no way that he was not going to try this.

He first ordered the rattler and pheasant with the harrisa and cactus sauce or something like that.  The meat was really flavorful, but I thought the sauce just didn't have that much kick.  We then noticed the duck on the menu, so I went back up and ordered the duck with the international sauce and a small side of the fried mac and cheese.  The meat this time may not have been as good as with the snake and pheasant, but the sauce really completed it.  I definitely rec this one.  The fried mac and cheese was fine, but I don't have to order it again.

When we come back to DEN, we will def be visiting here again!!

Went here for a little pre-going out dinner. I got me some Green fried to-maters and a vegetarian hot dog.

Now I have been spoiled by the fact that I had my first Green Fried tomatoes in the great state of North Carolina. So even though biker Jims Green Fried Tomatoes were good they were not as good as down South. So if you are looking for the real thing but can't find it in Colorado then these will do. I think the main thing that made them not 5 stars is that they put a spicy sauce on them. If you have a really good Green Fried Tomato then no extra sauce is needed.

The hot dog was actually really good. Had a good size to it and taste. I also really like the bun that it came on. It is really nice to get a good veggie hot dog. The prices were not that bad also for my tomatoes, hot dog and a beer came out to about $10.00.

Elk Jalapeno Chedder was good with the cream cheese. It sounded disgusting to me but it paired really well.

Also got the American Hot Dog. That was whatevers.

The cauliflour which was the best part! It was charred and had the tahini sauce on it which to me is like a sweet, non spicy curryish thing. Its a bit strong, so i would wipe of some of  the sauce before I ate it.

For the price, its a great place to go and you can't find this everywhere, so it was a fun place to go.

In search of good, cheap eats, I found Biker Jim's amongst many an interesting looking place on Larimer a good mile plus walk away from my hotel.

What I got, did not disappoint: 1 huge elk/jalapeno/cheddar hot dog/sausage w/ topping, 1 (half) side of fried green tomatoes, and 1 craft beer. For $12.50. I almost ran away and hid in the corner to eat it, because this deal was just too good to be true.

This place puts out a super unique, delicious, and perfectly served product that appeals to adults and kids alike. The service was super friendly (even had a conversation with one of the cooks about WaWa and the state of New Jersey). The atmosphere was perfect for a place called "Biker Jims." The beer selection was awesome. The walk back was sad because I had no more Biker Jims.

If I lived in this city I would become a huge fatty because of this place, and I ain't ashamed to admit it.

Amazing dogs... or brats.  Who cares what you consider them... they're awesome!  First time there I tried the Wild Boar Dog.  I was a little iffy about having apricots and cranberries in it but the taste was great!  Plus their dogs are huge!  Second time back I did the Reindeer Dog.  If you're ok eating Rudolph give this one a try.  Very good!  I will be back to try every single one on that menu... even the Rattlesnake/Pheasant one.  I'm curious like that!  Or if you just want to go for a standard dog they have beef for the non-curious. ;)

All their toppings sound great.  I'm more of a simple ketchup person so haven't tried them.  Though I will have to try them soon to be a bit more adventurous.  Don't forget about the sides too.  A side of fries are huge and crispy... mmmm... crispy fries... I may need to get some today.... People rave about the mac and cheese too but I haven't had that.

I love that their fountain soda is Boylan's!  Not the traditional Coke or Pepsi crap.  Or get a beer!  I luckily can have one over my lunch hour so liquor much appreciated!

The price *can* get a little high as you add things on al la carte but you definitely get enough to eat!  That's my only gripe, but no place is completely perfect.  5 stars for Biker Jim's!

Maybe it's because we tried to visit the day of a Rockies' game (note: Biker Jim's is very close to the stadium), consequently couldn't get parking, consequently had to get our order to go, consequently it was cold... but I was less than impressed with my food here. Had the caramelized onion/cream cheese over the german sausage and it was very tame. I found the tahini cauliflower too sweet.

On the flipside, got to chat to some genuine Bikers while I was waiting!

Would try again, on a non-game day, and pick things with more oomph.

I would love to go here 50 times and try every type of dog and then review this place. I only tried the elk cheddar and jalapeno one and it was awesome. Can't understate the hotness of the jalapenos, though. If you don't like spicy, steer way clear of this one. It's not like jalapenos you can just pick out. It's a spicy kick in the mouth but in a good way. Makes me wonder what I'm missing with these other interesting dogs. It seems disrespectful to this place to even call them hot dogs. They're more like fancy sausages on a bun. They have a nice variety of toppings for purchase and at the self serve station.

They have some good beers available and even some drink specials. And you're really not gonna get this kind of game so cheap anywhere. The options are great. I like the environment a lot, too. It looks like an old firehouse that was converted into a motorcycle shop. I can do without the Black Sabbath, but I guess it's appropriate music for the place. While we were there, it also got really smoky, which made me wanna leave. That was kind of a bummer, cause if I had stayed a little longer, I probably would have caved and ordered the mac and cheese. This place deserves a couple more visits.

Very fun place to get untraditional sausage.  The star here is definitely the game--bison, elk, and even rattlesnake!  I had the elk cheddar & jalapeno dog and my boyfriend got the pheasant & rattlesnake dog and both were absolutely delicious.  They have a fixings station with jalapenos, peppers, cheddar cheese and tons of sauces.

The fries are supposedly fresh cut though they didn't really taste fresh cut.  The beer selection is outstanding.  The fried mac and cheese is a must do but you have to make sure it's straight out of the fryer, this dish tastes no good cold.

In my limited experience, this is the best meal you can get under $10 in Denver.

Hello.  My name is Cherie.  And I am a Biker Jim's addict.  My mouth waters for their cola-caramelized onions.  I crave their sweetened cream cheese.  I get anxious about which dog I am going to order.  Rattlesnake and Pheasant...Elk Jalapeno Cheddar...Wild Boar!  All are damn good.  Along with delicious sides such as fried green tomatoes and fried mac & cheese.  Wash it all down with a Milk Stout and I am good to go!

If I could peel myself away from my trusty usual orders, I would like to try the Duck Cilantro, the Bat Dog, the International topping option and the charred tahini cauliflower.  Baby steps, Cherie...baby steps.

OK, so I finally went back. Not because I was so upset from my last visit, but moreso, I usually run out of time and can't get to all my downtown spots as often as I'd like. I will say the prior visit did take Jim's off the radar for a minute, but it's back ON!
I took a friend here who had never been and we tried a variety of things.
Fried mac and cheese, friend green tomatoes...bacon wrapped beef dogs.
Everything was outstanding. The order process went fast - we waited a very reasonable (short) time for our order, and the food was really really good. The bacon was a bit difficult to taste. I felt like the hot dog may have been a bit overcooked and the bacon got lost int he process, but the hotdog was GOOD. I got the coney topping, which was a LOT of chili and mustard and onions, but the flavors were perfect.
I am a fan and would recommend folks check it out. Unique and delicious.

It really doesn't get much better.

A cross between Biker chic and industrial chic, the space inside Biker Jims is casual and a little weird while still being cool and a great place to hang out. But really all of that pales in comparison to the food. Bacon-wrapped beef dogs? Pheasant? Rattlesnake? Elk? Buffalo? Yes please. Yes to all of it.

Whenever I go here I like to play a game where I see how many different animals I can eat in one sitting. This often involves distracting a dining partner in order to steal a bite of their multi-meated-monstrosity, but it's so totally worth it. The saying is usually something like: "There's room for all of gods creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes." But I definitely prefer to think of it as: There's room for all gods creatures, inside of a single Biker Jims bun.

Food is priced well, is absolutely delicious, and the toppings and combos and sides are unbelievable. If you're in the mood for something new and crazy, you should definitely go here.

Went in last night before a show at Summit...It just so happened to be National Cheeseburger Day and I felt a tad "wrong" getting a hotdog on such a sacred holiday. When I mentioned this to Jim, who happened to be on his way out, he said they could make the ultimate cheeseburger...and so they did. Off menu, no question, on the spot. I was completely thrown for a loop.

FIVE CHEESES! Tomato confit! ....oh my goodness I nearly died and went to dairy heaven...where all the happy well-milked cows are. I added curry ketchup, because it's my kryptonite...but there are so many different sauces, there's something for everyone.

My friend had the bat dog and said it was the best hot dog she had EVER had. Another friend had the 5 cheeseburger as well and agreed it was INSANELY delicious.

People have said not so great things about the staff...Let me tell you, we were NOT ignored or stared at. The staff was funny, happy, accommodating...just all around great.  A great, laid back atmosphere, even if it was a bit hot inside, the patio was perfect.

Biker Jim's has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and I always delight in seeing the cart at a food truck gathering or street corner.   Having a restaurant was simply a matter of time.  It's fantastic here, the staff are always friendly, and the food is the same topnotch fare Denver knows so well.  They offer a special of the week, and having a permanent structure gives a little more liberty with options and ingredients, as well as great side dishes to make a full meal.

The place gets busy, for sure, but it's spacious and comfortable and turnover is usually pretty quick.  Not to mention that the owner is a really fantastic guy.

I don't come here as often as I like, but I sure do consider it a treat when I do!

I'm not a hot dog person, but their dogs are amazing.  And their fried Mac and cheese is a culinary delight.

The only Hot Dog place that i've found that compares is Hot Doug in Chicago, IL.  Biker Jim's only downside is that they don't serve a Foi Gras side (Hot D does).  Of course, that is more than cancelled out by Biker Jim's stocking of local beers and sodas (Avery White Rascal for instance).

Yes - I did say Local Sodas. A great local soda company with free refills.

I've tried numerous Dogs here at Biker Jims.  The favorites remain the BAT Dog (trust us - good stuff).  I also recently did the buffalo with the creamchease/onions.   We also get some fried green tomatos (good) and fries (pretty good).

This restaurant has saved me a lot of energy/hunger wishing for my next trip to Chicago. Thanks Biker Jims!
