OVERALL: Great airport stop. Â Had the Bruins on and stayed open to let us watch.
Quality: 4. Airport food. Â Pretty much sums it up. Â Hot, meh, and whatever. Â They had Ok beers.
Service: 5. Unlike many other airport places, it did not take 3 hours to get my order.
Atmosphere: 4. Â Plenty of TV's, but many are not facing where you sit, which is strange.
Price: 4. Airport prices.
Notes: Airport bar, decent beer, decent prices, great staff.
Upon arrival, area not too clean and staff is not happy at all. Â Took a little while to get attention. Â Ordered a cosmo. Â You can order alcohol all the time, but you cannot order lunch at 10am. Â After seeing the condition of my glass, I was happy not to get the food. Â I was concerned I would ingest glass as my glass had TWO chips on the rim and a crack going down the glass. Â Staff was not attentive at all. Â Never asked if I wanted another one. Â Was not impressed that I saw him look at the glass with the chips and still pushed it towards me. Â I opted not to say anything at the time. Â The drink was not leaking from the glass. Â I had to flag him down to pay, which was odd seeing that they were not even that busy at all. Â It was awfully expensive and crappy service. Â I don't care if I want a drink before getting on my flight next time. Â I will not go back. Â I was not impressed that the bartender also knew how incredibly drunk a man was and served him even more alcohol. Â The man announced how drunk he was, offered to buy everyone in the bar a drink and even said his airline can't know or they won't let him board. Â Hmmm.....and this bartender serves him more. Â BTW, I did point out the details of the broken glass as I was leaving to the bartender.
See picture of glass with chips and crack down the glass. Â Tough to see, but you can see the chips.
I went into Boston Beer Works in Terminal C expecting to buy one ridiculously-priced beer. I came out having drank 2 reasonably-priced, delicious IPAs! For under $7 a glass (and that's a tall glass), these beers are a steal for an airport bar.
Next time I'm flying through Logan, I'll be sure to give myself some extra to come back for some more.
Visited during lunch on a not so crowded day at the airport. I sat down at a corner table next to a group of people which was already there. Â It took over 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge I was there and needed a menu. This is while the entire place is empty short of the table with 3 guys to the right of me. I noticed there were 3 waitresses along with 2 bartenders at the place. I was able to hear all of the waitresses huddled together towards the back kitchen area chatting it up.
A waitress finally comes by and asks if I want a menu to which I respond in the affirmative. I make a quick decision and place an order for the BBQ chicken sandwich & fries. The food comes out in a timely fashion and tastes OK. The BBQ chicken was basically a grilled piece of chicken breast with some very watered down BBC sauce drizzled on top which made quite a mess while attempting to eat the sandwich.
The waitress doesn't come back for about 20 minutes, not to ask how the food was nor to give me a refill of water. After getting frustrated I get ready to head over to the bar to pay for the meal after which the waitress quickly comes over and I immediately ask for the check. I leave a $1 tip (on an $11 check) and head out hoping that the next person checks out Yelp before stepping into this place.
I always like to get to Logan Terminal C a little early so I can get the boneless Buffalo wings and a beer. The Buffalo sauce is authentic and delicious (I'm a native). The crew is very friendly and attentive, almost to a fault. To their credit, they are among the few airport restaurant staff that understand they're working in a time-sensitive environment and their customers can't tolerate slow service.
Review Source:Had to kill several hours after a flight delay, and I am glad that I found this place. Great beer selection with a very knowledgeable staff. Food is also top notch given the relatively low price points.
They only lose a star because they don't provide you with power outlets... as someone who flies frequently, thats a load of crap.
Visit was lunch time on Thursday 4/18/2013
Traditionally I love hitting this place before a flight but today was just horrible. Not in quality of beer or food (as I never got anything) but of service.
As I sat down at the bar I waited for the bartender to greet me and ask if I wanted anything to drink (normal interaction here traditionally). But nothing happened...at all. She proceeded to interact with everyone else at the bar but myself. I was literally ignored for just under 20 minutes. I wasn't sitting at some low profile spot either. I was sitting at the corner where both ends of the bar meet, right in the center of the whole place.
Even when the bar tender lady came to wipe down the bar...she cleaned AROUND me and never said a word. I was shocked. People on either side of me even noticed and just looked at me with a shrug like "I don't get it either, man."
When I raised my hand to get her attention (twice)...I was ignored. I cannot understand it and feel silly that "I" had to make a tremendous effort to even be noticed in a not very busy bar...and failed at that! Hehe...
Finally I just went across the way to Wolfgang Puck where I sat at that bar and was greeted right away, served a beer within 1 minute and had my lunch within 5...I don't expect much from these places but this was a pretty disappointing outing this time BBW... Fix it now.
'm from the north east originally, currently I'm living in Dallas tx.
I had a connection flight from Boston to New York so I spend my time at "Boston beer works".
The beer was tasty, the bar tender was nice and polite.
But above all I had a real delicious burger.maybe it will sound funny but as far as my experience there is No good burger in Dallas.
Keep it up it was wonderful.
Boston Beer Works can be a bit of a zoo, but it's worth it if you're delayed and want to sip on some beer while you wait. They serve the full line-up of Boston Beer Works brews at this mini-outpost at the airport, along with a slimmed down (figuratively, not literally) version of the food menu. The food is just ok, but the beer is good. You could do a LOT worse in an area of the airport with only one conveniently located post-security bar.
Review Source:So after going to the BBW @Fenway, I thought I would give them a shot when I saw them next to my gate at BOS. Â
It's nice and open unlike lots of dimly lit airport lounges. Â Packed on a Monday night at 5pm I still got decent service. Â 6 TVs line the back wall that has nice windows looking out on the runway. Â
I got their oatmeal stout to try their beer (almost didn't because the previous beers I've had sucked) and it was ok. Â They 've got a full bar too. Â
Food came out within 10 min and they got me in and out while not being too quick or pushy. Â Good job!
My grilled chicken Caesar was ok. Wifey had the Boston Clam chowder and said it was ok. I had a nice seasonal porter that I really enjoyed. Simo had a blonde that was pretty good. This was the best option for us in this terminal. Otherwise you're getting fast food from Johnny Rockets or a $12 personal size pizza from the place across the way.
Review Source:Good burgers, fries and a good kids menu.
Sirloin tips on kids menu perfectly cooked with a nice sauce and adult size portion. Most kids won't be able to finish it to the delight of parents who get to.
Karen the server aims to please and service was fast knowing we had to make a connection.
Burgers are huge, bun and patty are restaurant quality.
Location in terminal C does not appear on yelp map under restaurant search.
Nice to see good food and service at an airport.
Not too much to write about this location. $6.95 for one of their beers is a bit nuts in my opinion.
The Fenway brew was quite tasty. A bit like a light IPA. Their blueberry beer....eh. Had floating blueberries in it that seemed neat, but really just made it hard to drink and it didn't have much flavor.
Stopped here for a quick dinner while my flight was delayed. I ordered their blueberry beer. I love when fresh blueberries are added but these buggers were so small it felt more like their were raisins in my beer. Thumbs down. Anyhow, I ordered a cheese burger, which was overcooked. Basically, it's one of your better options in the airport. Steer clear of blueberries, don't expect the best services (the bartenders/waiters were more focused on talking to each other than managing the crowd) and you should be ok.
Review Source:Same beer selection as other Boston Beerworks. Which means mostly average beer selections with the occasional good option. The only good one while I was there was a 9 Alarm Amber which was a spicy amber ale.
The food menu is rather limited, but they have a decent selection of sandwiches available. The nachos are also pretty good and big enough to be a meal.
The service is pretty good and the staff are very friendly. The space is a bit on the small side and seems even worse because everyone is trying to get around with their bags. Not the best food option for Logan, but the combo of decent food and decent beer make it worth a stop.
DISGUSTING!!! Â 1 star is too generous.
While waiting for a JetBlue flight at 7:30am, 1/17/12; my wife and I ordered two egg and cheese sandwiches on wheat to go. Â I eat healthy in general, but my wife has a high tolerance for every day food - butter, cheese, etc.
How bad can an egg sandwich be?
When we opened the sandwiches on our flight, we were both disgusted. Â The bread was soaked in butter (I mean SOAKED), and the egg was barely detectable beneath a layer of cheese worthy of being a drink coaster. Â It was the most grotesque grilled cheese imaginable with just a fine sliver of egg tossed in for formality's sake.
We were also starving, and ate at least half of these revolting piles. Â It was the worst and unhealthiest thing I have eaten in many years. Â We both felt sick for the rest of the day, and wished we had gone some place healthier - like Dunkin Donuts or Taco Bell.
Weeks later, I am still genuinely angry about how bad it was; and how it ruined my flight and day.
Really disgusting......
Not about food - there choices are very limited but their craft brews are good but expensive as to be expected with the captive airport customers! Â Â
In any case it is nice to have a place to get good beer at the airport! In fact, as I finally get around to finishing this review - I will be heading to Boston Logan tomorrow and will certainly stop and have a beer at the Boston Beer Works! IF I CAN FIND A SEAT!
Got stuck at Logan Airport when my departing flight was delayed pn my last trip to Boston. Â Since we had some time to kill and it was around 6 pm, we decided to stop in the Boston Beer Works to grab a couple of beers and a bite to eat while waiting for our flight. I didn't have high expectations for an airport restaurant, but the food was better than expected. I enjoyed the beer selections we had as well. Â Service was ok. All in all, the experience was much better than the typical airport bar/restaurant.
Review Source:After one mishap, my group stopped here to wait for our flight. We we're at the larger one with seating, there are two locations. This was on the C11-? side.
We were seated almost right away and the hostess was funny.. yeah, so anyways we had our drink order taken pretty quick and we found the food on this menu a lot more appetizing than a previous place we saw.
I got the 'hub light,' which was very good. My friend got the 'pumpkinfest ale' they had and that was really good, very cinnamon-sugar like.
The nachos were unimpressive, ugh! They were almost okay.. nothing crazy but I'm really critical of nachos.
The cheese fries didn't come with bacon, unacceptable! I mean we accepted them, but you'd think.. bacon.. on.. cheese fries.. nope.
The service was quick and efficient; it seems they either want you in and out for a good turn over time because the line was fairly busy.. we lucked out with getting in right away but had we waited 10 more minutes the line really backed up. Â At the bar area which was pretty big, it seemed more stragglers and drinkers which they would welcome to stay.
It was a good place to stop and eat overall, it wasn't too impressive but a decent meal. It was $20 a person for us all together for our two apps and beverages so you can use that as an average, I say better than the other option.
I really thought Boston Beer Works would have been better....
The beer was good, but the food was a bit lacking. Â I ordered the Upstate NY Chicken Sandwich. Â It was dry and just not very good overall. Â The sweet potato fries I ordered as my side were also not fresh. Â
Our service was mediocre at best. Â Alright if you want to grap a beer, but I would not recommend the food.
Typical airport restaurant where the servers try their best but have way too many tables to cover. I'm giving it two stars for the kindness of our server and her effort to serve everyone.
We left Boston early in the morning, before anything on the way was open, and were left to choose from the two choices in the airport.
I find it odd that the breakfast menu only includes entrees with eggs. Fabulous if you have an allergy! I ended up convincing the waitress to ask the chef to make me a grilled cheese for breakfast.
Was in Boston Logan in the morning, and was ready to chow down before boarding a long flight. Â Checked out the Boston Beer Works, but found out they had no "chowdah" in the morning??? Â Oh well, at least I had my fix of "chowdah" the last two previous nights. Â I ended up ordering a breakfast of sausage, eggs, and toast. Â Nothing to write home about, but was a good basic breakfast. Â I must say their service was probably the only thing to really give any props. Â Super friendly and attentive. Â Not a whole lot of other choices. Â Perhaps I will have a chance to try this place during hours when they are actually serving chowdah and a local microbrew.
Review Source:Tip #1 for visiting Boston Beer Works at Logan: Â Do not be like everyone else. Â Do not saunter up to the bar and blurt out "BUD LIGHT!" when the server asks you what you want to drink. Â I've been to this bar several times while waiting for my vacation to begin, and at least once or twice each time, someone walks right up and says that. Â Each time, the server patiently and measuredly says, "We're a *micro-brewery*, we brew our own beer in-house." Â (Well, probably not at Logan, but in Boston anyway.) Â If the bar doesn't have any neon Bud Light signs or taps indicating that they have it, then they probably don't. Â And that's good, because Beer Works has some great beer.
Tip #2: Â Sweet Potato Fries. Â They even come with raspberry aioli. Â They're the perfect companion while you enjoy a couple of fresh beers and get relaxed before your flight.
In all seriousness, this location does a pretty good job replicating the experience in its Boston-area restaurants. Â Service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are only about $0.50 to $1 more per item than you'd pay in the city itself. Â It's pretty much "street pricing". Â (Though you can't buy or drink beer on the street in Boston.)
Plus, this is a great place to make random friends before your flight. Â I love airport bars because most of the time, people aren't going anywhere for a bit and they're looking for a conversation. Â I've met Google engineers and clean energy consultants at this bar. Â It's really a slice of humanity just passing through on its way to somewhere else.
P.S. Â It can be tough to get a seat if you are there at a peak time, but if you go when a lot of flights aren't taking off, then you'll have no problem at all finding a spot at the bar.
We came here for a bite to eat before our 7:17pm fight out to San Francisco. Since it was dinner time, this place was pretty busy. We had to wait around for a table to free up since the waiter told us just to sit down where ever there was an empty chair. Once a table cleared up, we sat down and the waiter came by to clean it up and hand us our menus. When you sit down, they ask for your flight departure time, so I am guessing they try to make sure you don't miss your flight by getting the food out efficiently.
I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered the grilled chicken mixed green salad with the house dressing on the side. My friend ordered the clam chowder with  a side of their fiery fries. I just asked for some water (he tried to sell me on bottled water, but quickly understood I was fine with the regular H20) and my friend ordered a beer. Our drinks came out quickly, but it was another good 10-15 minutes for our food to come out. My salad was pretty good for a basic salad. The chicken was freshly grilled and nicely seasoned. The greens were fresh and adorned with sliced cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. The creamy balsamic vinaigrette was also pretty good and a little went a long way. My friend seemed pretty content with his clam chowder and fries, too.
When we sat down, we had about 45 minutes before boarding, but since it took awhile for us to order and get our food (the place was crowded and there was only one guy waiting on the approximately 8 tables and one person manning the bar), we had to ask for the check while scarfing down the remainder of our food. We finally got everything taken care of and made our way to our gate and got in the back of the line to board.
Overall, this is a pretty good place to grab a solid meal (without frills, of course). There's TV's mounted all over the walls so no matter where you sit, Â you're bound to have a view of one of the games they're playing. The service, although rushed, was friendly when we did have their attention. The food was pretty good and we did make it on our flight, so in general, I would recommend this place if you're stuck in the airport and hungry!
Apparently there is more than one Boston Beer Works inside Boston Logan International Airport. This one is located in Terminal C - in the United Airlines Concourse.
I had breakfast here on my way out of Boston. A breakfast sandwich: scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon, on perfectly toasted wheat bread, with a side of crisp breakfast potatoes (see attached pix). The sandwich was very tasty, eggs cooked just right - not overdone, very cream cheese, and crisp bacon. The potatoes were also very good - and not greasy to boot! Had a cup of Joe and a glass of water to go with it.
They do sell beer here, but I don't do beer for breakfast! Will definitely stop in again next time I am in this terminal!
I ventured to this airport establishment an hour or so before I took off for D.C., ready to take in my beloved Boston Red Sox beating the red, white and blue out of the Nationals. The icy dick of Mother Nature, though, stuck it in and broke it off, delaying my 6:30 flight until 12:30 A.M. That bitch.
Therefore, I had to find somewhere -- and something -- to pass the time. What else is there to do but drink?
Already with a buzz from the pretty-good lager beers (expensive at $7.25) I flipped through the menu, trying to find something to eat as I stared at looping 1/2 hour versions of ESPNews. Nachos pulled at me. Really, God's perfect food, right?
I ordered and it came. Oh, yes, it came. A giant plate of nachos, so enormous it looked like it needed Cleopatra's chariot to be transported, resting on the bronzed shoulders of a dozen slaves. What a delicious, monstrous dish. $11 for a big pile of chips, cheese, salsa, olives, onions, tomatoes and great shredded chicken. It kept me full through the entirety of that long-ass trip to our nation's capital.
So, to sum it up: fuck you, New England weather, and Beer Works...you're okay. Better than okay, actually. Fo' stars.
"I'll take a Jack and Coke."
"Sure thing, would you like to make it a double for a dollar more?"
"Absolutely!"
I'm a bit nervous before a flight, and the best solution is clearly to get all liquored up. Â That was until I got the check.
$10. Â TEN DOLLARS. Â FOR A PINT SIZED COKE WITH TWO PERFECTLY MEASURED SHOTS. Â Hmph... I suppose that's the price you pay. Â
I did not try the food, but it looked and smelled super delicious. Â
With their own line of microbrews on tap, pretty friendly bartenders, seemingly delicious food, key airport location and airport ambience... this could have been a solid 4 star review... but I just can't in conscience dish out a full 4 stars given the price.
I don't have a whole lot to say about this place except that their nachos were decent, but I like the hot queso-style cheese on mine rather than the shredded melted cheese.
Their service was weird - most people were too busy to be pleasant or polite, but the bar tender did a decent job of being helpful.
Better of the options of on Terminal C.
Service was good, but the food was average. Â
My garden burger was a little dry and the cheese fries were not worth the upgrade. Â But you know what? Â It's airport food, and compared to the other options you usually see this is better than most. Â Add some beer or a nice drink, like we did, and of course it makes the food slightly better. Â
One thing to note, though the service was good in terms of the waitress being attentive, it was SUPER slow, so if you only have a little bit of time to kill, don't risk it here. Not worth missing a flight over.
We had to kill an hour before our flight back to LA, so we figured why not kick back with a couple of brews.
For those of you not in-the-know, the Boston Beer Works (BBW) is a chain of several locations, and they make their own beer. Â But something tells me the beer is probably made somewhere across town. Â I somehow doubt they're making beer in the basement of Terminal C....though that would be cool....that is until air traffic control gets into it; but i digress. Â
We sampled two of BBWs finest offerings (damn this is starting to sound like a craigslist personal ad): Â the Oatmeal Stout and the Pumpkin Ale. Â
The Oatmeal Stout was as black and creamy as a Guinness. Â It had a subtle scent, and was smooth as chocolate. Â Most of the flavor manifests itself just before the aftertaste, and is decidedly smokey and hearty. Â The aftertaste is mellow and pleasant and doesn't linger too long. Â I have to say, it beats Guinness. Â It's that freaking good. Â
The Pumpkin Ale isn't for everyone. Â I liked it, but others did not. It's more of the essence of pumpkin, rather than an obnoxious overly sweet fermented pumpkin taste--thank God. Â It's strong and hoppy, with lots of carbonation which shocks the tongue. Â There's a hot spiciness that attaches to your throat upon swallowing, not unlike hot fireball candy. Â The aftertaste isn't what you'd call mellow, but it's satisfying and compliments the flavors that come before it nicely. Â
The waitress was kind of bitchy and clearly wanted to be somewhere else...but then again I can't quite understand why anyone would want to work in an airport. Â How these people aren't perpetually on 72 hour suicide watch holds, is beyond me.
