The service and food is spotty at best. There are times when I have ordered and picked up food from there and it does not take long and tastes great, mind you its at prime lunch hours as well 11:30 - 12:30. Then there are times when I order ahead of time and I'm told 15 mins and I come to pick it up and it ends up being 30. It may not seem like a big deal but when your lunch break is only 30 mins it is a big deal. Also the the food is not as good. It seems like they are very understaffed, there is only one person to answer the phones and take walk in orders. The employee seemed lost, he did not greet customers as they walked in, he kept answering the phone and taking orders making customers wait as the line grows.
I recently decided to take a gamble and use the delivery service that China Station offers, big mistake... I ordered at around 10:30 -10:45. I had special instructions on how I would like my food prepared since there was a section for it. The food did not arrive till 11:45. The place being delivered to was not more than 10 mins away catching 3 stop lights. Â The special instructions were not followed; extra spicy and less sauce. The spicy part is mildly understandable since its relative. But the sauce part not so much, I got my meal and it was drowning in sauce. The meat was no longer crispy due to the whole thing being submerged in sauce.
This is a relatively new place and for service to be so terrible so early is disappointing.
I ordered delivery on a Thursday night--orange chicken, egg rolls and a small hot/sour soup. Even with the $2 delivery charge the food bill was under $20 with enough food for two people! The food was HOT--as in temperature hot. Fresh! My orange chicken came in the same size container as pictured (the noodles).
The dishes were very flavorful: the egg rolls had pork in them (unexpected) and the soup had shrimp in it too. Everything was really good.
The delivery came in 30 minutes (I'm a few miles from them) and the driver even reminded me that I had put the tip on the card. That was nice of him.
I did 4 instead of 5 stars since the egg rolls were a little greasy and the hot/sour soup wasn't too spicy. Â I'll definitely order from them again.
This place isn't bad, I like that dinner specials are cheap, they include the rice the dish and a soda! plus eggroll..
I've had house fried rice -ok
mongolian beef- not what i expected. prob won't get again
crab ragoon- pretty good, not a lot of imitation crab meat, but it was nice and crispy and hot
this would be a decent place to go when i'm on the run and don't want burgers or sandwiches....
i've been here like 3 times..once in a while is ok. i got 10% off for ordering online. i ordered at 3:30pm for a 4:45pm pick up. they call me at 4pm telling me my food is ready to pick up...what's the point of putting a pick up time if they aren't abiding by it? he simply said sorry and would be ready by then and he'd make a new dish so it was hot for me...there's no way i'm eating food that was sitting there for 45 mins...
i got what i wanted, he assured me it was hot. and it was.
My fiancee and I ordered China Station on the GrubHub website because we were craving Chinese- what a great decision! For the price we got a ton of delicious food and even a day or two worth of leftovers! I moved to Naperville recently and have been on the search for a good Chinese restaurant and I have found our new go-to place! I definitely recommend giving them a try- the delivery was fast, the food was delicious and the serving sizes were well worth the value.
Review Source:I love Chinese food overall. This place is not pretentious. It is what it is. The food comes in huge portion. I always get the lunch or dinner special. They have customized to my taste buds since I don't like my food too salty. For example, when I order Mongolian chicken/beef or shrimp, I ask for extra vegetables and low salt. Traditionally, Mongolian dish has just scallions. So I love that they will customize it for you. But watch out, their English is terrible. You may have to do some sign language or describe in details to get your point across. However, if you order enough they will get it. They remember you. I recommend you try different dishes until you find the one you want. Than you will be a regular like me and get it once a week to every other week. You can ask for white rice instead of fried rice if you wish. Again the portion is HUGE for a combo special. It comes with a can of pop too. Also, ask for not so spicy if you don't like it spicy. I ask for extra jalapenos while my husband ask for mild on their "hot" entrees. Â They aim to please you as long as they can somewhat understand you. If you get a guy on the phone he speaks better English than the lady.
Review Source:I've given this place two chances and they've fallen short both times. First, we placed orders, the first time over the phone and the second time online. After 45 minutes we called them to ask where our food was, and both times they told us the food was ready but the driver was out and wouldn't be back for 20 more minutes. The first time we ordered from them, we ended up calling them again 30 minutes later and they told us the driver had gotten lost. By the time we got our food it was cold and disgusting. Tonight, when we called to check on our order, we got the same "our driver just left" malarky. We told her we had been waiting for our order for 45 minutes and she said that we were lying, that she hadn't received the order until 7:20 (instead of 7:00, when I placed it). We told her we had an e-mail confirmation stating that we had placed our order at 7 and that we wanted to cancel our order. The lady put up a fit, refused to let us speak to a manager, and told us we couldn't cancel the order because the food was on the way (directly in contrast to what she had just told us). Finally we told her that we're canceling payment on the credit card so she's not getting paid. Suddenly she spoke perfect English and just about hung up on us.
NEVER get delivery from there, it's not worth the aggravation! I'll stick with Lee's Chinese Garden on 59. A bit more expensive, but such good for for a lot less hassle.
My wife and I use to go to a restaurant in New Brunswick (Canada) every weekend just for their Chinese food. Unfortunately, The restaurant went out of business about 7 years ago. Since then we have relocated to Maryland and now to Naperville. We searched Maryland for any decent Chinese restaurants and never found at least one. Tonight we ordered from China Station, the food was delivered quickly and arrived hot. To our surprise, China Station reminded us of the food we use to get years ago. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent Chinese food with excellent service.
Review Source:I think our family Chinese taste have changed. Poor taste & qaulity overall. Â Crab ragoons were cold, big and full of cream cheese but where was the crab meat. Egg rolls, too chunky with the veggies still pretty raw. Orange chicken, probably the best dish with real orange in it, but all dark meat and pretty greasy. Sesame chicken, poor flavoring, greasy dark meat & heavy breading...we didnt even finish our first helping on plate because it was so blah.
We won't be going back. On the upside delivery was smooth and our order was correct. Of you like cheap Chinese then they may be ok for you but we all agree that we like light Thai style and fresher tastes.
I will not even give them a star. I placed my order using Grub Hub (love them!) when the food got here, the driver didn't come to the first floor, the food was cold and to top it off, my general tso's chicken was covered in hair. When I called the China Station, they offered me a credit for my next order, no thanks, you don't get to send me hairy, cold food twice. I called grub hub and got it all taken care of. Can we say refund. Gross! I live in Chicago and work in Naperville, I will NEVER order from here again, I will stick with my local Chinese eatery. Ok since I have to give them a star I will but know I don't want to.
Review Source:I was at a Tanning Salon and overheard one of the girls ordering chinese food from this place. Â I asked the name of the place because I'm in search of good chinese restaurants. Â I ordered a few different items yesterday and tasted a little bit of everything and was very pleased. Â I think I have found my new favorite chinese spot. Â The pot stickers are tastey even without the sauce that accompanies them. Â The Crab Rangoons are sooo yummy! Â Ordered the combination Chow Fun and it's just how I like it. Â I ordered the 'house special' egg foo young and it was ok but I think going with one ingredient would be better than doing their house special which I believe is several different ingredients. Â I will definitely be returning and trying more items. Â I'm passing the word along to my coworkers for lunch take out!
Review Source:I recently received a mailer from the restaurant and haven't been to a local Chinese restaurant in a long while, maybe years.
I've been to and enjoyed Joy Yee several times (Naperville & Chinatown), but haven't been inside or ordered from a stand alone mom&pop Chinese place in years.
There's plenty to choose from the menu, and looks like they have decent lunch specials. Â I ordered the Singapore Noodle dish, extra spicy and it was very good. Â Chicken, shrimp, pork, very thin rice noodles. Â
I ordered for dine-in and the food came in a resealable dish, which made it easy to close the leftovers and take back with me.
The dining area is small, then again the store front is small. Â I'd suggest ordering over the phone or online and taking back with you (that's what I'll do next time - and there will be a next time).
Nice employee at the register and easy to get in and out of the shopping strip, which just east of the Mobil gas station near the corner of River Rd. and Ogden.
WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!
They deliver really quick and their online ordering form is easy. I call in with my credit card because their website doesn't say it's secure. It keeps track of your old orders so you can see what you ordered last if you really liked it. My husband has gotten the beef lo mein twice and LOVES it. I like it too and plan to get it next time. I got the sesame chicken once and it was really really tastey. Got the lemon chicken last time and it was a breaded chicken patty cut up and then you pour the lemon sauce on it. I liked it enough to finish it, but probably won't get it again. We recommend the crab ragoons because they are always fresh and really well made. They keep them in triangles, which allows for easier dipping. Everything is fantastic heated up, so we order the largest size to have it for two meals (mine lasts me about three meals even).
The delivery guy is really nice and the woman on the phone who takes the credit card is helpful and friendly. They get the orders from their website really quickly because if I place it and then call them immediately, she says it just popped up and she knows exactly who I am.
We will be ordering this every couple of weekends for sure. It's convenient, good priced, and delicious! Who doesn't like a good Chinese delivery?
Went here for the first time today and was very pleasantly surprised. First off, the food is cheap. I got a giant noodle dish (Mongolian beef) for $6 because of their lunch special; that also came with a drink and egg roll.
No complains really, the actual restaurant was a bit hot, but the could have just been the hot food.
China Station, you are officially my new takeout place.
Everything I've tried here is great. Â Some highlights: the crab rangoon, the egg rolls (perfectly crunchy), the Roasted Pork Egg Foo Young (the sauce is packed separately which is convenient if you don't like it soaked in sauce), the pad thai with shrimp. Â The pad thai may not be the most authentic in the land, but it's delicious nonetheless, and packed full of shrimp! Â I've ordered it several times, and it's never come made with "thin dried noodles" like one of the previous reviewers mentioned...don't know what happened there.
