The PCA is a truly remarkable theater. Â I've had the pleasure of attending many performances here as well as working as a recording engineer in the theater for two years. Â In my opinion it is the finest room on the entire University of Cincinnati campus.
The theatrical performances are professional caliber thanks to the remarkable theater and musical theater departments at CCM. Â The theater and the performances it houses do each other justice.
Do catch a show at the Corbett Auditorium.
The Corbett Auditorium is the largest performance space at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music (CCM).
You can see it from Calhoun Street along with all of the other CCM buildings. This space is so stunningly beautiful. I've seen many concerts and performances here, both college produced and from local organizations. The auditorium is made from a beautiful warm wood that covers the walls and behind the stage in a very intricate and ornate fashion. On the sides there are these massive white lamps that really tie the whole space together.
You can come here to see CCM's philharmonic and jazz band. You can also see visiting performances from various artists. Some local organizations such as the Vocal Arts Ensemble and various local choirs and musicians also can be found performing here. Sometimes the college's plays and musicals are shown in this space as well.
The theatre seats about 740 people. Patricia Corbett was an amazing local philanthropist for the arts who gave a log of money to this organization as well as many others across the city. She recently passed away and her contributions are of the most prominent. She will not be forgotten.
