French fries in the gooey cheese sauce... a little too heavy on the cheese sauce
    Short rib hash was delicious
    Mimosa special for brunch time
Inventive dessert that consists of strawberries prepared in several different styles
    Fun for people watching

    -
    Shrimp appetizer wasn't anything special
    Slow service

Not dying to come back when I'm in SD, but at least I won't resist if someone suggests!

4.69292342 stars for me spazzing out inside because I watch too much Food Network and I didn't know I would see HIM there!

Before I go to a new restaurant, I like going on yelp for inspiration on what to order so I know what will be amazing and what will be average (because for some reason I like to assume we all have the same, good tastes!), but this time I did not. I've seen friends' pictures of their food from D Bar, but all of it looked bomb as fuuuuu. So I decided to go with my gut and order what sounded good without questioning it.

It ain't fun unless you sit at the dessert bar, that's for sure. I have high respect for all of the dessert chefs working during the time I was there - they work extremely hard and they are very precise in their preparing and plating. They looked freakin' intense and they stayed focused and are probably used to easily-amused people (like me) staring at the dessert magic happening right in front of my very eyes. It was like being at Benihana, but little entertaining food tricks weren't necessary because their intensity was just hard to NOT stare at. I felt like I was watching Chopped, LIVE. And then the head chef comes and tells them what to do and this and that, while I just sat there, stared more, then turned to my boyfriend...

"Oh my gahd, babe. That's. That's.. that guy.. from the freaking FOOD NETWORK! Holy sh*t. Holy.. oh crap. It's Food Network in real life. It's real. He's so tall. His voice sounds the same. Sh*t this is so cool!"

It was such a random fangirl moment. I think I just watch FN too much. But damn it was super coo. Chef Keegan, wtf. I had no clue. But anyway.

We shared the "cake and shake" as well as the "d = mc2." The chocolate cake in the "cake and shake" was so rich - it was an easy stomach filler, for sure. the different textures in the "d = mc2" was amazing. Definitely not your average dessert.

I really enjoyed the service -  the guy who served us was so friendly and laid-back. They're good on checking up on you from time to time and to refill your water.

And is it just me, or are almost ALL the people who work there really good-looking? Damn.

Definitely coming back because I want the D. Again, and again, and again.

Very nice! Enjoyed a nice after dinner dessert. We all shared a few dessert plates - even if I really do not like sharing my food :) but it was worth t to try a wider selection.

Love the place and decor. Super high ceilings and a modern warehouse kind of space. Service was fine. I will definitely go back for more. Maybe try their cuisine too.
