I came here about 2 months ago. Driven by it a few times and then the reviews weren't phenomenal so we never went. I'm glad we made the choice. I really like the atmosphere/ambiance. The dinner crowd was a little classy casual. You could wear nice jeans and flops but also heels and cute top.
We started with the philly steak n cheese rolls.. whoa baby amazing! ha! I got the steak tips- good. He got a seafood dish that too was good.
We skipped dessert but they looked yummy. I'd definitely come back.

Conceptually, I want to love Devlin's -- I really, really do. The Sunday Jazz brunch should be the perfect way to wile away a lazy afternoon, which my boyfriend and I have tried to do on a few different occasions. While the music is perfect and the patio is gorgeous, I just can't get over how mediocre the food is, particularly for the price. While my boyfriend has ordered and raved about the chicken lettuce wraps each trip, I've tried a few different options. On our first visit, I got an omelet that was almost spongy in quality and tasteless breakfast potatoes. Hoping it was just a fluke item, the next time around I ordered a goat cheese and arugula salad with grilled shrimp -- and was even more disappointed when it arrived and I realized that I'd spent $16 on a bowl of arugula with four shrimp and a half-ounce medallion of cheese. The service is okay but on the slow side, and the drinks tend to be hit-or-miss. This is definitely a case of "paying for the patio."

That being said, I can't even describe the deliciousness that is the strawberry-basil lemonade with vodka, and the oreo mudslide is worth every calorie (and cent). While I can't really recommend the food, if you're looking for a fun place to kick back with a few drinks and relax away a Sunday afternoon, I'd recommend you head to Devlin's.

I've been here 3 times now and definitely recommend eating/drinking outside! the inside is nice but the outside is awesome, much larger than I would have expected and sundays they have live jazz music! FYI sunday is the brunch menu I think until dinner time but they have a decent variety and the sangria is delish!

Solid meals. Good drinks. Yummy arrugula/beet salad. Reasonable prices.
Very friendly & attentive servers. A few small tv's at the bar (including the outside one) if you need to watch a game.
Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either. Happily not a hipster spot (read: sh*t show). Satisfying dinner in Brighton center, which is hard to come by.
Outdoor patio in back. Easy parking on Washington St.

Went last Wednesday for a great patio atmosphere to watch the Bruins game. Only one tv outside but hostess was very accommodating in putting us at a high top table close enough to bar. We were simple but the pizza was actually quite good. Waitress was a little slow when it came time to the check but other than that she gave us great service. I would definitely come back to Devlins for drinks and to try more entrees. I love outdoor dining in the summer so patio hidden in the back right off of Washington St is a great find! The inside decor also looked quite nice as well.

This is a place that is either on the cusp of greatness or mired in the ennui of mediocrity. I'm not sure which one it is because I'll have to go there several times to figure that out.

First, I agree with many reviewers that the food is okay. It's not memorable. But there is one exception: the cobb salad. That salad was fantastic, although the shrimp were way too salty. When I taste shrimp that salty, the first thing I think of is that it's probably frozen and not fresh.

Why might this place be on the cusp of greatness? Because it's in a good location, the interior of it is really nice, especially the plush booths. The place is clean, and the decor is great.

This is the sort of place that needs Gordon Ramsay to go there and jazz up the food a bit. I need to iterate that the food is not bad. It's just mediocre. Every great restaurant needs a signature dish that people will keep coming back to eat. And no, you can't make a stellar reputation off a cobb salad no matter how great it is.

I think that this place would be great to watch a game because the TV's are well-positioned relative to the booths and the seats. So, maybe next time I'm going to have to order beer and pizza and watch a game.

Is the food a bit expensive? Yes. If the food was less expensive, I definitely would have given this place another star.

This is one of those places that you've got to try a few times to figure out whether or not it's worth it to become a loyal patron.

Sat on the patio Friday Evening.  Lovely atmosphere.  The food was okay not great, but okay.  Great ambiance.  BUT very overpriced.  Food wasn't that good, but in Boston it's hard to find a place to sit outdoors how sad is that???

The best thing about the place was the ambiance and sitting on the patio.

it didn't suck as bad as i thought it would.  is that a compliment?

only thing i ate was the pizza, only thing i drank was the beer.  sat in the beer garden on a lovely early summer eve.

the pizza: basic tomato/cheese/basil. edible.  fine, but overpriced. wouldn't come for it again.

the beer: seadog blueberry - the first one from the bar came in a plastic cup with blueberries, the one ordered to the table came in a plastic cup without.

honestly, devlin's, i don't think it's you.  i think it's me.  i think it's a brighton center thing.  there are cute things to be found in brighton center, but the irish pubs aren't the draw for me.  your food didn't win me over, but i'd probably go back for a drink if someone else suggested it.

i will say - props for gluten free notations on your menu.  i haven't gone with any celiac friends so i can't vouch for 'em, but at least they appear to be conscious of it!

Devlin's is painfully mediocre. I'd also had a good vibe about this spot, I think because something about the building feels retro or art deco and I assumed its namesake was Cary Grant's character in all my all-time favorite Hitchcock movie.

I ate on the patio here within the last few weeks, and was eager to try it since I thought I hadn't been before.  But, when I checked in on Yelp, I saw that I had, in fact, been there once-- I'd just forgotten about the mediocre meal I'd had a couple years ago and the regret that ensued when I left something like $25 for it.

In any case, I purused the menu and decided I'd go for a margarita to compliment fish tacos. Our drinks took a pretty absurd amount of time, and I think we were reasonable given the busyness of the patio. I chose the fish taco app instead of the entree because I wasn't starving, and the portion would have been fine, but I was disappointed that I got no sour cream, guacamole, or salsa at all with it. I added some tabasco and felt a little better about things.

All in all, I've only ever come hear at another's suggestion, and don't think I want to again. Pretty blah. And no homage to Cary Grant in sight. :/

Devlin's is my favorite go-to spot in Brighton. I love having two bar options, and that each side has a different feel to it. My favorite, among everyone else, is their patio in the summer. Good food and drinks all around. My faves on the menu are the nachos, the chopped cobb (seriously the best around), crab cakes, and mussels. Many memories have been made at Devlin's and there will be many more to come!

Devlin's is the place you might take for granted, but when you stop in again you are reminded why you go back.
Its consistent in terms of quality of food and service (never had a bad experience with staff). Its quite comfortable--never seeming to be too loud or busy as a restaurant, and never too quiet as a bar. The outdoor patio is the best in the area as well. I always wish they could devise a way to be able to more visibly see the TV they have at the bar for Sox games, etc but I'm being picky.

The food: Girlfriend and I both had a hearty hunkering for steak today. We didn't feel like sitting down but didnt feel like paying $40 bucks from Stockyard for takeout.
She had a delicious filet mignon with a peppercorn sauce sides of fries and sautéed vegetables. I had the steak tips, mashed potatoes which were delicious and the sautéed vegggies.
For 40 bucks we were both stuffed and each steak formation was delicious in its own right. I'd say get the filet if you had to choose but steak tips are one of my favorite dishes and I consider myself a pretty serious judge.

    WORST cocktail I've ever had.
MOST distracted and flustered bartender I've ever seen - at a barely busy bar, no less.
    SADDEST excuse for good food.

I was so disappointed about my visit to Devlin's. I had heard it was the place to go in the neighborhood. So not worth the time, energy or money.

This place has decent food and service, but it's not much worth remembering. I ordered a grilled chipotle chicken sandwich, which was fine but nothing amazing. The only other thing I remember about this place (even though it was only a couple of days ago) was the fact that their Sam Adams seasonal was the summer already, and the waitress said they received the spring in January. That seemed a little strange. But either way, this restaurant was convenient to where we were staying, and worked fine for dinner (although I'm sure there's better food for the same price not far).

Overall the experience at Devlin's did not meet my expectations. After reading all of the reviews about it on open table as well as Yelp I was extremely excited to visit. Upon arriving I told the waitress that I booked with open table and was promptly seated. As the night progressed it got even more packed, for a Friday night the bar was becoming very busy. The waitress was not attentive to my table at all, I noticed other diners were recieving complementary bread and we did not receive it at all. Overall the food was overpriced. I ordered the chicken tortellini, and there was minimal chicken in the dish. I'm not quite sure if I will return again.

I really enjoyed my dinner here last night. There was a wine tasting going on, so we started off with free wine which was delicious!

The service was a bit slow, but the food and drinks were outstanding. I ordered a strawberry rhubard cocktail and it was really good, and very unique.  We got the mussels as an appetizer, and I would definitely recommend them because the sauce is out of this world. We used it for the bread they gave us too!

The salmon caesar salad was great! I also got a french onion soup that was Ok. But I will definitely be back here soon!

Devlin's has gotten a lot better since we moved to the neighborhood last decade, and after my delicious bloody Mary and Irish breakfast this morning I felt morally obligated to bump them up another star.

They have a bloody Mary fixins set up to go with Sunday brunch, which seems a little cliche, but then you go up to it and see that they have THREE different kinds of pickled beans, FOUR different kinds of olives (including garlic and jalapeno stuffed--YUM!), cornichons, etc., etc., so even if it is cliche, it's the kind of cliche that really hits the spot.

The brunch is also a jazz brunch. I used to love brunch and still like it well enough, and there's some jazz I like OK, but I've never been a big fan of the jazz brunch or live music in restaurants generally. But as with the bloody Mary situation, Devlin's makes something a bit cliche work out just fine, because on top of the jazz numbers these guys played really cool instrumentals of Voodoo Child and Come Together.

And while outside dining seems like a kind of punishment on a day like today (19 and windy!), their patio is beautiful in the summer.

Came here for Sunday Brunch - a friend called and said let's go to Brighton for brunch I know the best place - first thing I said to her was if I am going to drive over a 1/2 hour for brunch on a lazy Sunday it better be worth it!  Well it was certainly good but not some place I would go out of my way for too often.

We got there about 12:30 and they weren't too busy.  Our reserved table was perfect and not far from the jazz band.  It did take a while for a waitress to come over and take our drink orders.  I don't think the brunch drinks are worth the cost...but that's just me.

I ordered the full Irish breakfast but substituted the black and white pudding for hash.  I had no idea how much food was going to come out!!  The waitress didn't ask and I forgot to tell her (even though the menu says you can get the eggs any way you want - so I thought she should have asked!) so my eggs came out super runny - like eggy water taking over my plate.  But I got past that and dug in.  eggs, bangers, grilled tomatoes, fried ham, beans and hash... wholly cow it was a massive plate (not sure about their other meals but I don't agree with the other poster that said the portions were small).  The hash was the best thing on the plate.  It was flavorful but not overly salty like hash tends to be.  One of the girls I was with ordered an omelet which she said was really good.

So word on the street is this place can be pretty bangin' come summertime when you can hang out on the patio but it's late January in Boston so I think you all know what's going on here.

An American-fare selection, nothing that really stood out as an eclectic choice. We ordered nachos as an appetizer although they were delicious they came out approximately 5 minutes before our entree's did. Awkward timing?

I got the chicken tortellini which didn't have much chicken in it but the sundried tomatoes were a nice added touch! The portion was pretty big seeing how I had leftovers for about 2 days!

I like the set-up of the place, the hanging/wall decor in particular. Cool vibes. The staff is also pretty nice as well. Not sure if I'll ever go back but a solid experience at best.

I went to Devlin's for brunch today and was sort of underwhelmed. The live jazz was great, our server was very nice, and the atmosphere was warm. The food however was fairly mediocre, the portions way too small and the bill much higher then it needed to be.

I can't believe I've never gotten around to reviewing Devlin's.

I bring a group there a couple of times a year and they are GREAT. They never act put out if I'm not sure how many people will actually show and that some of us our habitually late. They split the checks. I love them.

As for the food and drink, first of all, they have Maker's Mark AND Bushmills. Nice.

They have two menu items that I love. When the angel on my shoulder is louder I have the Arugula salad with endive, pear, candied pecans, blue cheese, champagne vinaigrette and I add chicken.

When the devil is doing the ordering I have the DELICIOUS Prosciutto, Fig Jam and Blue Cheese pizza, which, while not part of my diet, isn't really that unhealthy.

I've always gotten outstanding service and it's a great place for us to have a nice casual meal and drinks. This place is under-rated, especially for groups.

I've been coming here with my boyfriend for karaoke Fridays for months now-- it's become a tradition. The first time we came, we almost walked out when we realized they had karaoke, but we decided to stay out of the pure cheesiness of it. And then it grew on us, and within a week or two, we were both singing. We made friends with the DJs, who loved us, because it can be hard for them to get people to sing, and my boyfriend is always willing. I don't think they're doing karaoke every Friday anymore, but more like once a month or so.

We've yet to come for the food, but the bar is great for a laid back drink or two. It's a pretty small space, which I happen to like, and the overall vibe is casual (there's music playing, but you'll be able to hear your date/friends). If you get to know the bartenders, you'll love coming back again and again. It never gets overly crowded either, which is nice, but it can be nearly-empty on holiday weekends, so if you're looking for a place that is consistently packed, this isn't it. We'll be back!

Our family had Sunday brunch at Devlin's with my niece and her boyfriend before driving back to upstate New York. Devlin's Bistro is located in Brighton, Mass along Washington Street. Devlin's can be found near the merge of Cambridge Street and Washington, in a small commercial section of Brighton with a number of restaurants and bars in the immediate area.

Devlin's advertises a Sunday Jazz brunch, and although we never heard any jazz we did enjoy our meal. We got there right as the place was opening, and they seated our party promptly. The meal is ordered straight-from-the-menu and all a la carte, but no complaints on the quality of the food.

I had a Bloody Mary which had a nice peppery bite, followed by the Smoked Salmon Benedict which was a toasted english muffins, then a layer of smoked samon, with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on top. That was served with home fries and a cup of fresh fruit.

The food was excellent, the service was fast and friendly, and I think that my niece has found a new spot to hang out in Brighton.

Even though Devlin's is a pretty stereotypical Boston restaurant that's corporate-owned and has little character, the food, drinks and service here were great and their outdoor patio is sweet! The mussels, chicken tenders and veggies were well made (not things easily messed up), the drinks were creative and delicious and our server was attentive and friendly. Can't say I'd be back unless I was in the area, but it was a good experience overall.

(I was surprised to find out that this place is owned by the same company that owns Orleans in Somerville because I have never liked Orleans, but maybe it's time to give it another shot!)

I really enjoyed Devlins.  Came in with a bunch of friends on Saturday night.  I wasn't expecting much as far as the food goes since it looked like a lot of typical Boston bars but I was pleasantly surprised.

Service was great, and the food was really good.  I got the Cobb Salad and although it wasn't a huge portion, it was fresh and delicious.  I tried a bite of my fiance's fig and prusciutto pizza and it was shockingly good.

I'm not in the area much, but I would definitely come in again!

Wow. This place really needs to get it together.

As much as I like the food and love the outdoor patio, we've had issues with slow service (only outside) in the past. Today, however, Devlin's sank to an all-time low and I doubt we'll be back.

We arrived for a late lunch at 3 and were immediately seated on the patio. Our server asked if we wanted to sit in the shade or the sun and we chose shade. Once we sat down for a minute we realized it would be too cold so we asked if we could move to a different table. She told us we were welcome to sit wherever we liked. We sat down a few tables away (I'd say the patio was about 1/2 full).

And then we sat for a solid 20 minutes without anyone approaching us, not our server, who wandered aimlessly around the patio, ignoring our eye contact, or any other restaurant employee. I tried making eye contact with any server we saw in our general vicinity but they stared through me (again, the patio was in no way terribly busy).

Finally we were so exasperated we left (and believe me, it takes a lot for an 8 months pregnant woman to walk away from the promise of a tasty meal). As we walked out, our server, who was just hanging out by the entrance of the patio, waved goodbye and said thank you. Clearly she had no recollection of seating us, speaking with us or handing us menus. Ridiculous.

Walked out of this piss poor excuse of a restaurant thinking the only worthwhile part of this whole experience were the complimentary muffin bites.  Every aspect of our breakfast/brunch was a catastrophe.  Ordered the steak and eggs and boy was I surprised when they came out.  3 bite size pieces of steak.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME.  How on earth is anyone supposed to be full on that.  Ive crapped out more appealing and appetizing stools then this.  When your paying a premium I expect quality food or at the very least enough to gorge my face to forget about the appalling taste.  Sadly this place accomplished neither.

Do your self a favor, next time your about to open this door, stop and make the treck a few doors down to the Green Briar

Despite my very strange sun burn, this place put a smile to my face. The sunburn was my fault. I didn't anticipate being able to enjoy a graduation party outside and didn't put on my sun screen. That aside, this perfect for a casual graduation party. The outdoor patio space is what makes this place special.

We were able to access the limited outdoor bar for a limited drink menu and still use the bar inside for the full drink menu, which is probably pretty handy when this place is packed. My friends had organized the party in advance and had appetizers waiting. The vegetarian spring rolls and brusetta were my favorites. The quesadillas were alright but the flavor was a little boring.

I used to come here once a week for brunch. The bloody marys are phenomenal as well as the steak and eggs.

Then they recently raised the prices of each entree by $5-$6. Who the fuck is going to pay $13 for soggy eggs benedict?

Major bummer that they lost a massive customer base by making their prices absolutely absurd.

So I work in Brighton, and there are so few good lunch options here, that it was great to find Devlin's last year. The outdoor patio is AMAZING... definitely worth a trip if this rain ever clears up.

I have to give it 3 stars because I find it's not super consistent. Every time I order off the specials menu, I'm blown away by how good it is. When I opt for the regular menu... I'm underwhelmed. Most recently, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich... which was actually a panini and super hard to eat. One of my dining companions felt her caprese panini was lackluster too... not enough mozzerella in the tomato/cheese/basil ratio.

And on top of that, the server brought the wrong check. We were in a hurry, and didn't realize until after it had been paid... granted, that's mostly our fault... but also not the first time that's happened here.

Anyway, good spot... could use a little more work, but not a bad bet!

I'm giving 3 stars because of a couple of lackluster service experiences.

    But, the food is tremendous.

I've been here a couple of times in the past few months.  On one occasion, we had the butternut squash ravioli w/ sage butter sauce.  I have to say, it's one of the best plates of butternut squash rav's I've had in quite some time... it's one of my favorite dishes to get if it's on a menu anywhere.  There's something about that sauce that gets me every time.

Their steak tips are really good too; served with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies.  The steak is glazed with a mustardy marinade and they melt right in your mouth.  The mashed tates are just the way my Dad makes them; no fuss.  There's not a pound of butter on top... no garlic... nothing.  Just the way I like them.

There's a reason I am always tempted to pullover on my ride home from work when I roll by Devlin's!

    *Brunch review*
The blood mary was really good and spicy. the breakfast appetizer muffin was grainy....not good. The eggs, homefries were okay. the eggs were in the pan too long and got that weird grey greasy thing happen and the toast was sitting in the window too long, by the time it got to the table it was so dry that I thought it would disintegrate.
I asked about the eggs benedict....Fake hollandaise...ew, but at least the waitress was honest when we asked how it was. ..." um, I've had better"

Devlin's is the best place to enjoy a nice drink and a good meal in any of the bars in Brighton in my opinion. Whenever we go to meet friends, it is always at Devlin's.

Their patio is second to none within miles of Brighton Center. Their patio features and outdoor bar, lots of greenery and flowers, and a waterfall. On Sunday afternoons, they have a live jazz band playing on the patio too and it all makes for a wonderful time. I have never had a bad experience with either the food, drinks, or staff here. It is, the classiest place to eat and drink well in Brighton Center.

Caveat emptor: If you have heart conditions, circulatory problems, or are pregnant, please check with your physician before ordering the Irish breakfast. You may find this dish listed under the definition for "gutbomb" in the dictionary.

With two eggs, two slices of Irish bacon, two links of bangers, four hunks of mash, home fries, beans, a roasted tomato, a partridge*, and a pear tree**... I'm not sure why we bothered ordering another dish (the burger, no less) to share. This would have been plenty as a meal for two!

Paired with extremely affordable and delightfully boozy $6 bloody marys, a simple but elegant dining space, and very efficient servers that will zip you in and out in about a half hour, you can't go wrong for brunch at Devlin's. Especially considering many other brunch joints don't accept reservations, call ahead to confirm a seat here and make a morning of it.

    --

    * Okay, really... this didn't come with my brunch.
** This didn't either. However, I do like pears. Ergo, I would probably like a pear tree.

I can sum this up with two words. Never again. Most of my review will mirror Kimberly P's, so I won't rehash all of it. I'll just highlight the things that really got to me.
    1. Putting my finger in mystery goop that was on my water glass.
    2. Frozen french fries passed off as food.
    3. Don't ask me what temperature you want my burger if you're not going to make it right.
    4. Don't just say oh when I tell you there is gross stuff on my cups, take them away from me and replace them!
    5. Cuff piercings are not trendy, Phil A. you're too old for that.
    6. Your beer is too expensive get real.
I could go on, but I won't. I'll never go back to this place. The one beam of personality came from the Busser, who was wonderful. Thank you for giving me one good thing to look back on.

Devlin's was my favorite place to grab food/drinks when I lived in Brighton Center.  I would consider it "fancy" for Brighton Ctr, but not in an obnoxious way.  Being able to head out for a glass of wine in the back patio and feel like I was downtown made it my favorite though.  Sometimes a girl just wants fancy, you know?  Oh wait...but you don't have to dress downtown.  Bonus for a casual girl like me.

I actually brought my current bf here for our first date, and we revisited many times before we..gulp...moved across the country.  Next time I'm back visiting you can be sure I'll stop in for a micro-brew or glass of vino on the patio.

I've also had an excellent lemon drop martini on the "bar" side.  They serve different apps over there and it's a great place to stop in for a quick bite to eat.

I've been here a few times for dinner with friends.  It's a nice place but nothing on the drink or food menu ever jumps out at me.

This time around, we ordered the fried calamari appetizer and they were a bit on the rubbery side and the batter was soggy.  We sent it back and I think they re-fried the calamari, but it still wasn't crispy.  For my entree, I had the special, oven roasted pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and asparagus.  I had french fries instead of mashed, but for some reason the left the asparagus off my plate as well.  A few moments after serving us, the waiter brought over a plate of fries and said that the chef felt like he skimped on the fries (3 of us had fries with our meals), so I thought that was a nice gesture.  We shared an apple crisp dessert which was OK.  When the bill came, I was surprised it was $50 per person.  It seemed a bit on the pricey side for this type of restaurant, especially since nothing was all that satisfying.

This place is just OK.  Its not good but its not horrible.  For those who live in the area, I guess its a nicer option than dives and pubs.  As for me, I'd rather pick another spot to meet my friends.

I have lately been spurred to write reviews only if the establishment is A)really good B) Really bad, or C) really memorable for various reasons.

That being said, this place really impressed me.

I went on Saturday morning with my special ladyfriend for brunch.  Now, the other option I had mentioned prior to leaving was Twin-Donuts... so you can get an idea for what I was mentally setting the bar for.

But she recommended Devlin's, and THANK GOD she did-- cuz they took things to a whole nother level of brunch.

I went with the scrambled eggs.  Mostly cuz I love me some eggs after a nite of a few adult beverages, and secondly because they came with toast, fruit, homefries and your choice of meat (I love bacon) for 7 dolla.  This seemed like a classy place-- and I am a classy guy-- so i asked for some classy cheddar on my eggs.

Simply put: my plate was delicious.  4 or 5 strips of bacon... I'd estimate 4 eggs worth of scrambled deliciousness, 4 pieces of toast, and a bunch of crispy/crunchy homefries.   I drenched all that shit in ketchup and I was in heaven.

The ladyfriend let me try her french fries and they were amazing too!!!  Some of the lightest, crispiest fries I've had in recent memory.  Oh momma!!

I'ma definitely be back to this place.  A good place to bring the 'rental unit or that special someone.

I can't believe Devlin's isn't yelped already - that's insane!  This place is to Brighton Center what Sunset is to Allston Village!  Okay, perhaps that's a bad analogy, but Devlin's is awesome.  They have pasta night, trivia night (with cash prizes, none of that gift certificate crap), and a jazz brunch.

I haven't actually eaten here yet, but it's just an excellent hangout.

It's hard to screw up a pasta dish.  Even at my very greenest in the kitchen I was able to whip up something decent with angel hair, zucchini, butter and wine.

But Devlin's managed to do just that on my one visit there, delivering to our table two of the ickiest looking pasta dishes I've ever seen.  The presentation was so bare and strange on the blue fish and linguini with red sauce-- giant, giant chunks of fish with a bit of pasta, covered in a small amount of thin red sauce....no visible spices...just totally unappetizing.  That went to my friend-- my husband received a shrimp pasta dish with onions that were almost raw, big pieces of hard asparagus, all finished off with a really watery white sauce.  He looked really unhappy while eating it, and left half in his plate.  And this was all on 'Pasta Night'.

Granted, neither dish was mine-- I got a scallop appetizer and a beet and pear salad which were totally devoid of any creativity, but edible at least.  It was all a real shame because their patio is so lovely, and the service is very prompt and friendly.  Brighton could use a cool mid to high end restaurant, but this one doesn't quite fit the mark.  I definitely won't be back.

5 Stars all the way. Wow I am impressed beyond belief. Last night was my works holiday party at Devlins and it was totally fantastic. The service was great. Kudos to our server for putting up with a bunch of loud obnoxious people. Nah we weren't that bad. The drinks were great - obviously I drank a little too much. But they had a great selection of wines we ended up with a Chateauneuf du Pape and a J. Lohr Merlot which complemented my meal (grilled swordfish and broccoli rabe) very nicely. Dessert was delicious a chocolate/peanut butter truffle cake with a perfect 20 year old port. Practically orgasmic - but the top of the evening was the 20 year old scotch that just melted my heart. YUMMMY. I'm still feeling the effects today thats for sure.

The food, the quality of service, and atmosphere all rank high in my book I will definitely be going back soon. The prices were great for the quality that came out of the kitchen. I was blown away. I haven't eaten in a place like this for quite awhile and it was perfect sitting down with other foodies like myself.
