People that rate this place low gotta take the stick out their behinds because for a really affordable meal in a really cute atmosphere, what more do you expect? Yeah, it may not be like going straight to Thailand but the portions are always big, food is served piping hot and they are BYOB! I moved from living near the DePaul location to the Belmont one and almost cried when they closed that one down. I seriously used to go at least once a week. It's always consistently good.
I tend to order almost the same thing every time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The crab rangoon is so gooey with cheese, you wanna smack somebody (the side-effects of cheesy goodness), along with the MANGO bubble tea (also perfect). Don't mess up by ordering another kind of bubble tea. The pad thai is pretty solid here too. Noodles are not too dry or thin like at Cozy Noodles and have a great sauce. Being a vegetarian, I can pretty much eat the whole menu subbed with tofu which makes me :). When I'm on a low-carb streak, I do the rama tofu which is a nice, thick rama (peanuty) sauce, unlike other watered-down, soupy textures from other Thai places I've been to (:cough: Opart Thai).
Yeah, the staff doesn't really know English. Yeah, there's a bunch of snobby little DePaul kids complaining that they didn't get their feet rubbed with their order. Whatever. For quick, cheap and really great Thai food, just go here.
DISGUSTING, that's all I have to say.
I went in on Valentines day cause I had a serious craving for bubble tea and Duck Walk was the only place open nearby. what a disappointment, it tasted so bad I had to throw it all away. As far as their food goes haven't tried it so can't say but please for gods sake DO NOT ORDER their bubble tea.
Ordered delivery food from here last night, and it tasted pretty good. Â Unfortunately, it gave me INSANE food poisoning. Â I'll spare you the details, but it's more than 24 hours after I ate my food and I've barely been able to keep down any toast and ginger ale. Â Basically, I paid $40 to throw up for 24 hours. Â Boo.
Review Source:Ehh this is an okay place for thai food. I recommend going to Cozy's instead because the food is way more fresh and plentiful than Duck Walk. Â However, if you do come here, come for lunch because they have great lunch specials. My go-to is crab ragoon (better than Cozys) and Pad Khee Mao (Cozys is better).
If you have more options, I would go with that, but if you are craving thai then this is will hit the spot.
Love Love Love Duck Walk !!!!
I dined in at Duck Walk a few times when visiting Chicago and I love it.
Duck Walk Thai Restaurant is simply the BEST Thai food in Chicago to me so far. Â My favorite dishes are:
1. Crab Rangoon is so yummy and tasty. Â It is just to die for. Â Deep-fried dumplings stuffed with a combination of cream cheese, lightly flaked crab meat with scallions and/or garlic. These fillings are then wrapped in Chinese wonton wrappers in a triangular or flower shape, then deep fried in vegetable oil. Flavor explosion!
2. Pad Thai is just sooooo yummmmyyyyyy and melt in my mouth
3. Panang Curry is super awesome, it just keeps me eating more and more, it's the magic curry soup/sauce.
4. Spring rolls are just great and fantastic, it's just delicious and so yummy
5. Basil Fried Rice is just so superb and tasty. All of the rice dishes are hearty.
6. Pad See Eew is just tasty and great, especially while it's hot.
7. Drunken Noodles are just fantastic and delicious
8. Shrimp Tom Yum Soup is like a taste of heaven especially in this rather cold weather. Ask for extra lime and spicy.
9. Pot Sticker is good and crunchy
They also have appetizers, desserts, and boba/ice drinks (I would highly recommend them add some real fruits in their fruit drinks, higher price is okay to me as long as it tastes really awesome as I expect it). This place has so many varieties, so it's a great place to take many people there, so they can find their most suitable Thai foods with very reasonable price.
Most of entree, noodle, rice plate, and curry items are all around $8 per dish.
Their appetizers and desserts are also good, mostly range from $2 to $4.50.
They have so much to choose from the menu which could always take forever deciding on what you want. Â So go with what you are craving for at that time or your guts feelings.
Say hello to the waiters/waitresses when you go there, they love to be greeted and treated with respect, that way their services for you will be much better than others. The customer service here is excellent and very attentive.
They do a lot of to go orders and deliveries, so you can expect their delivery time could take up to one hour or so especially during lunch/dinner hours, even though they have plenty drivers. I would really suggest you to order delivery foods early, at least one hour before you actually want to eat the foods.
Their regular hours are from 11AM to 9.30PM every day, except on the weekends (Friday and Saturday) they close at 10.30PM, at 9PM on Sundays.
You can just dress casually and take your guy/girl friends there. Â The atmosphere is pretty fun, modern, trendy, classy and casual at the same time. Overall, it's a great food with good size portion and very reasonable price. So it won't break your wallet.
Duck Walk is a great place to do a group dinner, especially BYOB style.
It also has better ambience than most Asian Restaurants and very clean. It's pretty inside and nicely decorated, and has amazing foods for a great lunch/dinner price.
The foods were all SUPER yummyyy. You can't go wrong with ANY dish... really, you must try and you will not regret it! Â So if you love yourself and are craving for Thai foods, make a visit to Duck Walk !! :)
Duck Walk is my favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago. I was pretty bummed when their Belmont location shut down, since it was right down the street from me. But, at least I know I still have delivery/an option to go to the Fullerton location now.
My favorites are their Pad See Ewe, Basil Fried Rice and Crab Rangoon.
It's probably for the best that I no longer live down the street - my wallet/waistline probably appreciate it.
Pretty quality Thai food in Lincoln Park. It's in a modern and clean space. The service is very friendly and they place videos or music videos on the wall via a projector. The food here is pretty solid and the portions are huge. I'm partial to the pot stickers. The crab rangoon is decent as well. All of the rice dishes are hearty. The Pad Thai is good for the area. The customer service here is excellent and they do a fair amount of to go orders.
Review Source:DO NOT GO HERE!!!
This place used to be awesome when they had their Belmont location. They cared about the customers and had great food. Ever since they've been on Fullerton their customer service has become non-existent and you have to wait at least an hour for delivery even on slow nights.!!! My favorite line is as soon as u say u want delivery they tell u an hour to an hour and half, like they're trying to talk u out of ordering from them!! I guess they don't need the business. The final straw was tonight when they forgot something on my order and then preceded to argue with me on the phone that I never ordered it and pretty much called me a liar when they said they had read my order back to me, which they hadn't because if they had I would have told them they had missed something..... It sucks i'm going to have to find a new Thai place but I just can't put up with the horrible customer service anymore.
My coworker and I had a late meeting on the DePaul campus, so we stopped in here for a quick dinner.
My biggest reaction was "meh"
We had crab rangoon--which is one of my favorite Thai items, but these were just okay.
My Pad Khee Mao was just okay as well. It was *really* spicy. I'm a fan of spicy, and I love hot, spicy Thai food, but this was too much--I felt like it was nothing but hot peppers. It was kind of disappointing.
The service was nice--my water glass was *never* even close to empty and everything came out pretty quickly.
The environment was sterile and overly indulgent in its own faux-modernity. It's also a place that clearly panders to college students, which made it feel pretty lame.
It was okay food, ok environment--definitely not somewhere I would plan to go back to again, Â but might dash into if I needed food and was in the area.
I recommend ordering the Pad Thai. Â Much better than at Penny's Noodles, and a good price. Â ($7ish, I think). Â I'm picky about my Pad Thai, and this is one of the better ones I've found in the city, and probably the best value for the price in the area.
The curries here are also pretty good. Â They are more liquidy than at some places, which is more like the curry you actually get in Thailand. Â I still prefer the Pad Thai, though.
The appetizers are okay, but the food is cooked so quickly, that I just order a main dish, which is more than enough.
I really do love this place, let me count the ways...
no lines
good service
fun atmosphere
easy to find parking
delicious food
prices reasonable
So one good thing to know is that the food is more mild, not very spicy or adventurous, but on the same note, everyone will find something they like to eat (even my parents). This place is now my go-to place when I want a good meal at a good price, and have a craving for super yummy crab rangoon. Love you Duckwalk
A friend took me here while I was in town visiting. She had all sorts of coupons for this place (they seem to be fairly easy to come by) and man did we get a TON of food for our money.
The spring rolls were fantastic and I believe I ordered the drunken chicken, which was ALSO fantastic. I ended up not even being able to finish my meal and they promptly boxed it up for me to take home.
Great service, great food... what more is there to say? I don't think it's necessarily worth a trek across town but if you're in Lincoln Park and feel like Thai food I would very much recommend stopping in.
I have ordered from here at least 5 times. Â It is consistently disappointing as far as Thai food goes. Â The fish cakes sounded great but were not palatable.
I tried the mayo shrimp. Â It's about $10. Â If a shrimp is battered and deep-fried, and covered in sauce, you'd think the tails would be off. Â No, the tails are on, and it's nasty to crunch down on these, as they're friggin battered and I can't see 'em. Â The broccoli is steamed and has nothing on it, it would be better if it had some seasoning of some sort.
I'm giving one star because the food was good, but the service was terrible. We were not given napkins and had to ask for them and refills on water. There were a couple of other annoyances. The nice atmosphere is trumped by the dint come back a second time service. Service is everything to me and I wont be back.
Review Source:Thai food is not my friend. It has, in the past, treated my digestive system with the same dignity and respect a sorority girl gets from a frat guy on the Saturday night of homecoming weekend. Add to that the fact that I've never found the flavors of the Thai food I've eaten compelling enough to be worth the gastro-intestinal distress and I think you've got a paricularly cuisine that I just will not eat.
Given that, I feel like I'm hardly a reliable source when it comes to reviewing a Thai restaurant. If I already don't like a given kind of food, how fairly will I judge a restaurant that serves it? Well, maybe my job here is to point out how effectively a place was able to change my mind about a particular genre of food.
Well, Duck Walk did nothing to change my mind.
I was up at DePaul for a particularly excruciating work meeting (Catholic Universities unite!) and our hosts ended up taking us all here for the much anticipated paid-for lunch. So my choices were, don't eat anything and grumble through a few more hours of useless meetings or give this a shot and hope I don't regret it in a few hours.
Well, I didn't regret it. I just didn't eat anything that was all that good. The flavors were kind of bland, the food wasn't very hot, and I was just the definition of underwhelmed. While I'm not fond of Thai food, I'm the kind of guy who's always waiting to be pleasantly surprised.
Plus the actual location is just super cramped and feels like it should be a counter service or fast casual place rather than a sit-down. Plus it seems way overpriced too. Although it is in Lincoln Park and if that neighborhood were ever to die its epitaph would read "Overpriced."
So yeah, part of me really wants to give Thai food another chance and hope that I find something that is not only tasty, but kind to my stomach. Hopefully, one day I'll find some place that really wows me.
Duck Walk was not it.
It not quite fair to call Duck walk my greasy Thai take-out place around the corner, although it serves this purpose most of time. While drinking wine on a sidewalk outside DePaul's campus isn't exactly a rare occurrence, I also appreciate its BYOB policy and sidewalk seating availability. Duck Walk's menu is more creative than just standard Thai take out. Their pad thai is delicious, but so are the Madness noodles, the Popeye Noodles, and the Duck Walk Pasta.
Last night, my Sunday take out and tv crew ordered the shrimp shumai, the vegetable tofu soup, and the crab rangoon to start, and the Pad Khee Mao (Chicken), Madness Noodeles (Chicken), and Pad See Eiw (Beef). My Vegetable Tofu soup was a tasty surprise. I'm not normally a tofu fan, but the broth flavored the tofu perfectly and the vegetables we're fresh and hearty. The Shumai was as expected, but the Crab rangoon was a bit too fried and creamy....i'm not sure where the crab was. The entrees all were spot on; however Duck Walk could stand to bulk up the noodle dishes with some more vegetables. In general, I prefer Duck Walk's spicier dishes (and always ask for more chili sauce), but the sweet basil dishes and curries are equally yummy.
For the inexpensive price, friendly service, and tasty dishes, you can't go wrong with Duck Walk. We are all very much looking forward to our Monday night left overs.
This is our go-to place for ordering Thai food in our new neighborhood. Â I forget how we even found this place, but we've used it multiple times and it's been great each time. Â The food is solid and delivery is always quick (surprisingly so). Â
Now that I know that it's a BYOB, we might have to dine in at some point.
Duck Walk on belmont has closed. I'm assuming this one is not far behind. It's not authentic Thai, it's not even good fake Thai.
Their main dishes were too saucy/over-flavored and mine was not even warm. They were out of several desserts and specialty drinks on their menu.
Probably only worthwhile item would be the appetizer sampler. And that's only because everything was severely deep fried (crab ragoons, egg rolls, and wontons).
Also they had 2 tvs, of which both were playing random Looney Toons (and no kids were even there). Puzzling.
Much better options for Thai around the area.
I've walked by here numerous times since moving to the area, and just recently had the chance to try it out. I've only gotten take-out here so far, and was pretty great experience all around.
I called my order in before I left work, and my food was ready when I got there. The service was also great-really friendly and helpful. Â I ordered the crab rangoon, chicken pad thai, beef panang curry, and pineapple fried rice. I really enjoyed everything, so Duck Walk is a winner in my book.
I would also love to come back here to dine-in because the decor is super cute, and it's BYOB :)
I have never dined in but I really want to it looks like a nice atmosphere. I have only had there take out. I usually get the Pad Thai which is really good and the prices are really good except that sometimes they differ from the menu which is annoying. Today I got the Beef Thai Fried Rice which was good but not as good as the Pad Thai.
I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely continue to go here to get my Thai fix.
Also the place always smells amazing when I walk by. I definitely want to try some other things on the menu during my next visits.
DELIVERY REVIEW.
I knew I should have gone with my gut and ordered from Penny's.
Because I was crabby as hell last night and in no mood to talk to someone on the phone, I logged into http://Grubhub.com to order Thai delivery. Â Ain't no party like a pad thai party, right? Â
Wrong.
First, the delivery took well over an hour. Â That's lame. Â
Second, the delivery guy couldn't make his way to my apartment. Â Double lame. Â Especially since I typed out explicit instructions that I live in a coach house. Â We're not talking quantum physics. Â I hate that I already committed to a 20% tip when ordering online because I sure as shit didn't pay the delivery guy several dollars to hang out in front of my house instead of walk his ass up the stairs to bring me my food. Â Am I lazy? Â Maybe. Â But I'm allowed to be lazy when I'm tipping someone to deliver food to my door. Â It's cold and I don't want to walk up and down three flights of stairs, mkay?
Third, the food was not all that. Â Triple lame. Â Boring, tasteless pad thai. Â Even more boring crab rangoon. Â And the chopsticks I was given in my to-go bad were splintery.
Ugh. Â Just not what I wanted after a super-long day at the office.
My dorm last year was only a block from this place so I got take out one night. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The sauce had great flavor, but the chicken tasted a bit funky, and there was a lot of excess fat on it.
Maybe I will try the pad thai or something else if I decide to go back!
I think I have solved the issue!! Â Dining in is far better than taking food away. Â I went here over the weekend for lunch with three other people and all of us had good, fresh and tasty food. Â I got the shrimp pad sie ewe and it was delicious. Â Also at the table were a beef and broccoli, a mayo shrimp and a rama chicken. Â Only the chicken had too much sauce and the rest were great.
From now on, I just have to make time to eat there and stick with the tried and true Americanized Thai staples!
I've eaten here or ordered delivery at least 100+ times over the past four years; how is that I've never written a review? Â Oh well, here goes.
Lets be clear. Â Despite the 5 stars, this is NOT the best Thai food ever. Â Although the pineapple fried rice, lime chicken, and fresh spring rolls are certainly in the running.
What makes Duck Walk super-awesome in my book is: Â (1) the quality of the food for the price; (2) the super friendly amazing staff, including the friendly delivery guys; and (3) the cute little hole-in-the-wall, BYOB, atmosphere that's made it the perfect place to start the night off right before hitting the bars in the Belmont/Boystown area.
My only criticism: Â Get rid of the TV. Â The place was much cuter before it was installed and it's totally distracting when your date keeps looking over your head because something flashes across the screen.
Ughhh, Duck Walk! Sometimes I want AUTHENTIC food. Real, tasty, delicious home cooking from whatever country or region the establishment I'm in claims to be from.
Other times, I want Duck Walk. It's cheap and utterly delicious and a far cry from real Thai but it's so good. The portions are great and the food is solid every time I go, no matter what I order, and the bubble tea lattes are amazing.
I could live on their Tom Kha. Forever. Literally. I love it so much, it's ridiculous.
My only complaint about Duck Walk is that the food lacks spice, but they have chili sauce on the table and I use that glorious fact to my advantage. I dump spoonfuls of the stuff into my soup, my curry, my noodles... anything. But I love hot food so YMMV. The only thing I don't put it on/in is my drink. But I might if someone dared me. I digress.
This location is a little cleaner, a little hipper, a little more "sanitized" than the original Belmont location and that's okay. This is the place to go if you're on a date or trying to impress someone a little wary of Thai cuisine. The music is a little annoying - largely cliche mainstream hip hop and pop, so you might look elsewhere if you can't ignore that. It seems to be catering largely to the DePaul and Lincoln Park crowd, hence the change in atmosphere and music options. See my other review for the original location.
For inexpensive, Americanized Thai food you can't beat Duck Walk. I've ordered carry out and dined in here and both experiences have been nothing but pleasent.
My favorite Thai place in Lawrence, Kansas makes hand down the best pad khee mao (drunken noodles) so no place I go to will EVER compare to theirs. However, Duck Walk's version of this dish is very good and spicy. I ordered that and the crab rangoon (not a ton of crab but the cream cheese wasn't overwhelming) for carry out and received a free can of Diet Coke.
For dine in, a group of 8 of us brought in 5 bottles of wine for BYOB and when the bill was split evenly (8 entrees and 2 combination platters of appetizers) everyone paid around $10 + tip. UNREAL. Only two of us cleaned our plates and everyone really enjoyed their food. My only complaint? We couldn't figure out which of the people helping us was our server for the longest time and the service was very slow (but nice). Great place to do a group dinner, especially BYOB style.
So I had some free-time in my day this Thursday and wandered around finding somewhere for lunch. I stumbled upon Duck Walk on Fullerton, right beneath the 1237 West lofts. I had actually sent a text message to a friend telling them I was going here and was advised NOT to go. They said they'd had a bad experience before and recommended I didn't waste my time.... Being the stubborn Italian I am, I went in anyway to see for myself.
The setup is very nice (I posted a few pictures for your pleasure). Very modern-looking. White, square tables, white walls with colorful paintings, open area, I liked it.
The service was fair. Nothing over-the-top and nothing sub-par. The waitress was pretty quiet but when I asked her suggestion between the crabmeat rice and the mango rice, she gave her best advice.
The water they started me off with had lemon in it which I liked. I ordered the shrimp shumai for an appetizer. It's fried shrimp dumpling served with homemade sweet and sour sauce, fantastic sauce.
They also put out a homemade spicy sauce in a little container for every table. The sauce is very spicy, even a little pinch of it and I had to down a cup of lemon water, but the flavor is also strong.
I like to eat, don't judge me, so, after the appetizer, I ordered two entrees... Yeah, I know. OH WELL!
I had the mayo shrimp to start. Its batter-fried shrimp in a creamy mayo sauce with cashew nuts and broccoli. The creamy mayo sauce made the dish. It was very similar to the shrimp tempura you can find at Inari Sushi in Elmwood Park, but the sauce was a little thinner, and lighter in texture/flavor. The cashew nuts went perfect with the sauce and the broccoli. This also came with a large side of white rice.
Then I had the crabmeat rice that was aforementioned in this review. It was stir-fried with crabmeat, carrot, onion, tomato, green pea, and egg. The rice itself had a very good flavor as the base of the entree. The crabmeat came in large chunks and was good as well. What I didn't like was the rest of what was included with the rice. The tomatoes were 4 large chunks that I didn't endup eating, there were too many basil leaves and not enough egg or green peas. But a decent dish as well.
The appetizer and two entrees ended up costing under $20, somehow? Maybe a lunch special I missed, but that made me happy nonetheless.
Also, let it be known that it IS BYOB. So feel free to bring your handles with you.
When I moved here from NYC, [one of my] sole missions (oxymoron?!) was to find a top-notch Thai spot. Â I could eat Pad Thai 3 times a week but I've noticed it gets a little creepy when the woman who answers the phone remembers you.
I go back and forth between Duck Walk & Noddles in the Pot (in LP) as my top delivery Thai spots. Â Duck Walk wins HANDS DOWN on their crab rangoon and I must say I have tried many places out there. Â Their pad thai is amazing but make sure to order extra sauce because there have been times when it wasn't as 'saucy' as I like it.
Also make sure to mention the coupons on the website when ordering. Â (Their delivery times are usually pretty accurate if not faster than what they say)
Down the street...how could I not? We usually are pretty lazy/busy to walk over here to get our food. Sometimes though, we feel like getting away and this is where we end up sometimes. When you enter duck walk, the design is simplicity at its best. The ceilings still have the cement exposed. Again its simple and clean look is what I think they are going for. It works. I am not real sure about the motif. This is fast, good, affordable Thai cuisine. just was the Depaul campus needs. They offer regular dishes including delicious curries, tom yum soup, and assorted thai noodle dishes. The food is good and i love spicing it up with their provided hot sauces.
duckwalk has a lunchbox specials and we usually order, Pad Kee Mao, Pad thai, Pad sie eiw. The lunchbox specials are the way to go. The portion size is still big and comes with your choice of cucumber salad, egg roll, or crab rangoon. ALL of which are just as delicious. The Tahi iced tea is a great boost to whatever is left of my work day.
I am really going to miss this place when I leave the LP area but I hope you give them a shot and fall in love with Duckwalk as I did.
*small tear*
Great place to get Thai, though the inside is quite small. Â I'd say might be best to get takeout or delivery from here though if you really want to not be on top of the table next to you. Â
It might have only been the night we were there, but they really need to get another corkscrew. Â This table full of girls just couldn't get their bottle open and it was starting to annoy me since my chilled wine was warming by the second with their incompetence. Â I feel almost like you shouldn't be allowed to BYO if you can't open your own bottle, or just resort to a twist off top. Â
Anywho... back to the Thai, the pad thai was delicious, as were the crab rangoons. Â Really no complaints. Â Get here early if you want a table and BYO corkscrew if you want to save some time.
Just returned from meeting a friend of mine at Duck Walk for lunch since we both love thai and this was close to his office.
Food: 3/5
Adequate, decent, seemingly fresh. The crab rangoon was very crisp which I like but the shell was let down by the filling; not only was there very little of it but it was flavorless and boring. The chicken pad thai was too sweet for my taste (even after loading it with red pepper) but otherwise was good and had plenty of chicken.
Ambiance: 3.5/5
I'm not sure what to think, the ultra-modern all white motif is a bit sterile and clinical for my liking. Other than that it was fairly quiet on the account of it not being busy and the floor to ceiling windows make it nice and bright.
Service: 5/5
No complaints, prompt attentive and easy. Of course we were one of 5 tables in the place so I wouldn't have expected anything less.
Value:5/5
The lunch deal - 1 appetizer and your choice of a noodle or rice dish for $6, how can you go wrong with that? I left satisfied and unable to argue with a $16 lunch for two people including tax and tip.
Overall a decent place for lunch but I definitely wouldn't make a special trip for it.
I love Thai food, it is probably one of my favorite asian cuisines next to Japanese. This place was definitely not the best I have had, given the fact that I am Asian, however, this place was still pretty decent.
The price was pretty cheap, ranging from 6-9 dollars per dish. I really liked the set-up of this place; it felt very modern. I had the Panang curry, which the curry itself was delicious. I love coconut milk, so you can really taste it in the dish, and it was just the right amount of spicy. The only complaint with this dish was that the peppers seemed pretty raw, like they just threw them in there, and also, there just wasn't enough "stuff" in the curry, it was more soupy than chunky, and with only beef and green peppers, but like I said, the curry sauce itself was delicious.
I also had the pad thai, but pretty much at every Thai restaurant, it tastes the same. You would have to be a complete failure to ruin pad thai, same with thai iced tea, but they definitely failed on the boba drinks. They were too icy, and it was not blended well. Also, the boba were really really hard, as if they didn't cook them all the way through.
The service was pretty good, and we ended up staying in there for at least an extra hour and a half after we paid our bill, and they didn't seem to care at all, so that was pretty cool of them.
My experience here was decent. Nothing special, I was just only simply satisfied with my food.
This is my second time going to Duck Walk and first at this location.
I ordered the Basil fried rice with chicken. This is suppose to be a hot dish, but Duck's idea of hot is to quarter three jalapenos longitudinally. I was looking for something spicy but instead I was just avoiding what was there to make it spicy. When I want spice I want to be deceived into eating the spice not avoid it. I will have then dice the peppers next time. The chicken was ok. It wasn't as moist as i would prefer chicken to be.
I went at 11:30 and the place was empty. Which I actually really liked. It made for attentive and personal service from the waitstaff.
The price was good at $6.95 for the fried rice and $1.25 for the drink. No real complaints otherwise. Makes for a good lunch time option.
Side note: Why do all the new Thai places that are coming up love the super modern look. I would love for a more authentic looking Thai place to open up.
Best Panang Curry in the city!! The baby egg rolls are fantastic and the Thai Ice Tea hits the spot.
I always loved having Duck Walk delivered, but they recently opened another Duck Walk a block and a half away from my condo. I love going to pick it up as the staff is very friendly and they recognize repeat customers.
I will never stop eating Duck Walk.
2nd Duck Walk location! Just opened. I like this location more than the one on Belmont(I stopped going to the other one cause there was hair in my food..)
Cute/modern interior. Clean. Filled w/DePaul students, of course.
CHEAP and pretty good! Looked like there were really good lunch special deals(yay for students)! My order took pretty long, though. I ordered pad see eiw w/out eggs and just broccoli.. looked super plain and there were only 3-4 pieces of broccoli, but the noodles were yummy! My friend and I split the shrimp shumai and pot stickers, both yum. Our orders just took really long.. but the location is awesome so I'll def return for lunch :)
