I came here with a friend to catch a few drinks. Â Maybe because it was a Wednesday night, but it was not very happening. Â The bartender we were talking to seemed kinda pretentious that it didn't make me feel very welcomed or comfortable there. Â When I was going to order one of the scotch they had, he said they were out of that but it's not good anyway. Â Well, that sure isn't what you wanna hear - worker putting down what they sell and what if that happened to be my favorite drink?! Â I ordered a cocktail, which was ok, but kinda weak and not worth the price especially after getting served by that bartender. Â After we finished one drink, we just left and went somewhere else.
Review Source:Came here for dineLA lunch and was so impressed with the food...each course was fully deserving of the 5 stars.
The Brie Cheese, Honey, and Fig Toast appetizer was amazing with subtle rich flavors. I liked that they provided a small side of arugula salad to go with.
The California Chicken sandwich was simple but tasty. Definitely must upgrade to truffle fries; it makes a world of difference.
The Cherry Bourbon Bread Pudding...words don't even describe...it was one of the best desserts I've ever tasted. The end.
At first they gave us a different dineLA menu than the one listed online. After a bit of gentle complaining they gave us the right one so that was a little shady but the food more than made up for it.
Glendon Bar & Kitchen is definitely my go to spot for good American food in the Westwood Village area. Â It's far better than California Pizza Kitchen and BJ's, while at the same price point. Â The salads, pizzas and sandwiches are all very good; I've tried a variety of items. Â Service is friendly and prompt whether you are there with a large group or just a couple of people.
Review Source:My friend and I came here on a whim because we were in the area and the door said it was Zagat rated. Allow me to tell you, the food is not Zagat-worthy.
The first thing that should have alarmed us about the relative quality of the food was the lack of people at 7pm on a Sunday night. All the surrounding eateries were packed at this hour, minus this one. That should have been a warning sign.
I ordered the House Burger and asked for it to be cooked medium and it came well-done -- not a good sign. Moreover, the burger had this mushroom sauce that was mediocre at best and didn't quite seem to go with the burger. The bun felt like it was left out for a while -- dry and a bit stale. For $12, I expected a little more than what I got. My friend ordered a pasta dish that looked like it was sprinkled with too much garnish on the sides.
For it being quite empty and with limited work, the service was just okay. There wasn't anything spectacular about this place. I would not recommend this place unless you sit at the bar and expect to watch a game or something.
Pros: No wait; TV at the bar.
Cons: Mediocrity
I came here last week with some co workers for happy hour and really enjoyed it. I had been wanting to try it for a while since it wasn't to far from my job. They have about 3 surrounding parking structures and some metered parking on Glendon. I was there for 2 1/2 hours and got my ticket validated by the hostess, she said it would be $4 but i put my ticket in the machine and it was FREE! cool with me!
The set up was very nice. It had a great welcoming feel to it. They have a variety of high table seating, low tables and some upstairs dining as well. The bar was really nice. It was arranged of course with a array of bottles but also had this beautiful orchid display in the middle, it gave it a very classy look. We sat down and was approached right away with menus and a drink order. The drinks were very good, mixed well by the bartender. The food was great as well. We ordered the chicken egg rolls, sweet potato fries, brownie, bread pudding and cookie plate. Everything was delicious! The desert presentation was excellent as well as the taste. The sweet potato fries came with this sauce..i don't know what it was but it was soooooooooooooooo good. The desert presentation was excellent as well as the taste. I know this may sound weird but it kinda looked and taste like apple sauce. I had to ask for extra. It had a very interesting sweet taste to it that went very well wit the fries. I loved it.
The only issue i had was looking for the place. The sign isnt big or noticeable at all. There is a little black sidewalk sign thats hard to see. I had to call as i was walking down the street to ask eaxctly where they were located. This isnt a deal breaker tho. lol
I plan on returning soon for dinner!
Here is my review of Glendon Bar & Kitchen
Location: Westwood Village
Easy to find: Hard to find. car GPS had us driving around in circles. Even after parking, phone GPS had us walking around in circles.
Parking: Street Parking and various private parking lots.
Pro Tip: Be careful on weekend. Read the signs carefully. Some street parking cost meter money until midnight. Weekend parking: use the flat rate $5 parking lots.
Ambiance: The atmosphere is nice. Our private party was upstairs. Downstairs bar sits on the left. There are several tv screens near the bar. The place is dark and loud. Sometimes, it was hard to hear the conversation.
Service: We only ordered drinks. So, service was limited to drinks only.
Our server did not know the cost of certain drinks. She was pretty slow. Afterwards, when trying to pay our tab, she accidentally charged our credit card instead of using cash. They automatically include a gratuity. She was lucky that it was automatically included.
Now that I think about it, maybe that is why she charged the drinks to the credit card.
Food: n/a
Cost: Two drinks = 28.
Overall:
I would not come back.
I have mixed opinions about recommending this place.
I've come here for dinner/happy hour two times now and I was happy with my experiences both times.
It's a really spacious venue, good for larger parties as well as small ones. The interior design is nice and trendy as well.
The $6.50 12'' pizzas are a great deal and they are pretty tasty. They aren't just your standard cheese or pepperoni pizzas either!
The garlic fries with truffle oil was crunchy and flavorful, and it came with more than I expected.
The bourbon chicken wings are also good, with some nice flavor to them that I can't describe very well.
Only downside, I didn't get the little crunchy stick things that they served as free appetizers on my second visit.
I hope to try out some drinks on my next visit and not be that cheap college student who only drinks water -- they sounded very tasty from the descriptions. I definitely recommend this place for happy hour!
We met a group for a happy hour birthday celebration. We had plenty of attention, drinks, and food. Really large servings for happy hour. Got some pizzas to share and had a drink special make with blackberries that was great. Parking validated next door. Cool vibe, laid back, mood lighting and awesome food and drink specials, what's not to like?
Review Source:I selected this restaurant from OpenTable because of it's location to the theater we were going to, and for their reasonable prices. My friend and I were pleasantly surprised with our selection! We arrived at 6:10pm and were handed a Happy Hour menu along with the regular menu. Pizzas were 1/2 price and sounded delicious. Other menu options included different salads, burgers, sandwiches, and dinner fare. We split a Namaste Chicken salad, and a veggie pizza. Both were amazing! The salad with kale, spinach, roasted corn, almonds, baby tomatoes, was delicious. The pizza was 12" with 8 slices - more than enough for the two of us. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The only downside was the noise, but after a while it didn't bother us. After all, it is a popular bar and that's to be expected.
We will be back for sure, and next time we will leave room for dessert, as they looked wonderful!
Well, the mood was nice. In a college town, it's nice to find somewhere a little grown-up feeling.
The food was alright. I had a pizza (the Courtnery) it was good but dry. My bf had the Curry Sandwich...pretty good. We went with someone else who had pizza (dry). To be fair, I think they were going for crunchy thin-crust pizza, but it was too thick to be 'thin' and to fluffy to be crunchy....so it just turned out dry. I thought $12 for a glass of warm Chardonnay was a little ridiculous.
Went here today...very yummy & I definitely want to come back again to try some menu items. The service was very nice--our waitress was friendly, helpful, and seemed pleasant:) The food was delicious too! Â I ordered the chicken curry sandwich (with tuna salad substituted in for the chicken salad) and it was delicious!!! YUM. My friend ordered the jalapeno mac and cheese, which was also tasty.
The interior is trendy and the decor was very hip.
To borrow a baseball term, this place is a "five-tool player." Â It doesn't matter whether you're a bar or club kind of guy, because the Glendon manages to combine the best features of both.
The staff help create the friendly, fun and energetic atmosphere that you'd hope to find in your favorite dive bar. Â They manage to so while still maintaining a very professional level of service - excellent drinks, knowledge of the menu, and attentiveness. Â
Even without the great drinks and atmosphere, the food alone makes a trip here worthwhile. Â If you're looking for a late-night snack, you can't go wrong with the herb n' Â herbs fries - they'll become the gold-standard of garlic fries to which you'll compare all others. Â
Finally, it is affordable. Â Nights out in this city often leave you feeling fleeced, but I've never left the Glendon without feeling I got my money's worth.
After walking by The Glendon for years, myself and 4 others finally had dinner there this past Saturday night. Sorry to say that I wasn't too impressed with this place.
The Ambiance:
I can't fault the restaurant in this category. I loved the seating arrangement, the cozy size, the decor.
The Service:
Again, can"t fault the restaurant here...the waitress was really friendly and nice.
The Food:
Here is where The Glendon falls short. I ordered the Seasonal Vegetable Plate which was $14 and while pretty, was bland and not worth even half the price. My daughter had a pizza which was okay, a bit greasy and the crust was soggy. The sweet potato fries were greasy and too thin so I wasn't a fan of those either.
Other people in our party ordered a pasta and the BBQ Basil Chopped salad and had great things to say about both. So maybe I just didn't order right?
I might try The Glendon again at some point but it's not exactly high on my list of places to go.
A favorite spot in the westwood village. Service is fast and friendly. I haven't got to try the food at this place yet, but I have gone many times for the full bar. Their Guiness on tap is amongst the best in town! Their cocktails are handcrafted with care and precision.simple and tasty drinks. Clean, dark, and trendy interior design with lots of Orchids!
Review Source:My sister brought me here after I picked her up from work. They have a happy hour until midnight so of course we were happy about that. It's in the middle of westwood and it was after 10 pm so there was plenty of street parking.
We ordered the turkey patty sliders, jalapeño Mac n cheese, and their Glendon pizza and I ordered a beer. All came out to  $25! So cheeapppp!!
The Mac n cheese were to die for!! My sister and I were fighting over the last few bites.
feeling bloated and extra fat I didn't eat as much. Took small bites of the sliders and pizza but even those small bites impressed me.
Our server (I forgot his name) was the only server that night and this place was a full house. I felt so bad for him so I didn't mind the slow service. He was super sweet!
It lost a star cause of their bathroom. There was no toilet paper in both the stalls and no paper towels and there was trash everywhere on the floor :/
I'm trying to think of a single complaint I have about this place. I'm pretty good at complaining. I can't really think of anything for Glendon though. I suppose the parking is a little annoying (you'll have to do the parking garage across the street or try to find a meter). But, that's being nit picky.
Service? Good. Our waitress was really friendly. We had a toddler and an 8-month old in our party. This isn't really the type of place for that, but the waitress acted like it was an everyday occurrence and was really nice about accommodating us (high chair provided).
Ambiance? Nice. It's not a big place, but it didn't feel packed at all (though the tables were full). It's dimly-lit at night. The bar is part of the restaurant, not set apart from it. There are two TVs for sports-watching.
Drinks? Excellent. They have a really awesome cocktail list. I'd recommend:
-The Ad Man
-Bloody Bastard
Both are stiff, but delicious so you don't realize they're that stiff.
Food? Great.
-We started with the Cajun Calamari. There wasn't much that was "Cajun" about it. It tasted like pretty standard calamari, which is JUST fine with me.
-I got the vegetarian pizza. Oh, so much mushroom/caramelized onion/red pepper goodness. There are 8 slices. I shared 1 because I'm nice and ate the other 7. Don't judge.
-I picked at some leftover garlic fries. Get the truffle oil and herbs for an extra $2. Oily and wonderful.
Price? Fair
The food is all very reasonable. Pizzas are under $15. Even the salmon was around $20. Not bad. The drinks are a little pricey so your bill can escalate, easily if you're me.
An overrated bar/restaurant scene in the midst of Westwood. Came here to grab drinks with a friend and was not impressed. When I stepped inside it was SUPER dim. I was afraid to take a step at one point because I couldn't clearly see ahead of me. I'm all for nice decor but adjust the lighting so we can actually see it.
Review Source:I really like this place and have been here on numerous occasions, mainly lunch. I was going to give 4 stars, but actually they get 5 because when a colleague and I had lunch and we ordered two cocktails which didn't taste too great, they not only took them back and made great ones, they took the cost off the check. That is service! Great food and not pushy in your face service. My husband and I went at the tail end of happy hour and had the mac and cheese with bacon and a couple of other yum dishes. It was busy and our server was very attentive.
Its nice to have choices in Westwood, and this is one I really like.
This place is OK. During happy hour they take forever to come take your order and also bring your food and drinks. They want it badly to be past happy hour so they can take more of your money ;-)
No doubt in my mind that the food and drink is good here... the service just left something to be desired.
I was looking for a place for a quick bite before a movie and stumbled upon the Glendon. I'd tell you to hurry in . . . because this place probably won't last long . . . but, then again, it's not really worth rushing in for. Not that there's anything bad about it, just nothing outstanding. When you've got 800 Degrees, Tengu Sushi, the Napa Grille, et al, within a block or so, you need to stand out. The Glendon doesn't. It's even difficult to find.
I didn't eat much. Just a mac n' cheese app and a some buffalo wings. The mac n' cheese was better than average, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. The buffalo wings were interesting: A mild barbeque style sauce topped with crumbled blue cheese. They were all right.
The decor was stylish and modern. Dimly lit. There's a couple widescreens that were showing NCAA and NBA basketball the night I was there.
They've got good happy hour drink and food specials and some good beers (Goose Island) on tap. It's a good choice if those other good spots around the corner are packed . . . like they were the night I went.
I have yet to visit Glendon Bar & Kitchen but I want to especially since they are a recent MOGL addition to the West LA area.
I am writing solely on my delivery experiences via Grub Hub.
The first time I ordered I got the Caesar Wedge Salad, a unique take with kale, grilled corn, breadsticks, and the option of an added protein or in my case cajun shrimp. Â My friend got the ceviche and the spring rolls and wasn't disappointed. Â The flavors packed a punch and the food traveled surprisingly well from nearby Westwood to her apartment.
I have also gotten the mac n' cheese (average, not my favorite), Brussels Sprouts (fanstastically salty with real bits of bacon), the Basil BBQ Chop Salad (the dressing was more like Barbeque sauce than salad dressing).
The food is definitely fancy bar food but makes no attempt to be anything other than it is. Â I would like to try their happy hour.
I really really wanted to love this place but it was actually kind of a let down. The ambiance at night is really low lighting, some sports games on the TVs behind the bar and some college students on dates.
The service was slow and inattentive- maybe our waiter had more tables than he could handle? But he kept forgetting to come back to us or get us another round of drinks and failed to offer any suggestions whatsoever when asked about the drink menu. I also had to ask about the specials and the soup of the day- each individually since he wasn't very forthcoming about it.
The food was ok. I got the sliders from the appetizer menu and the soup of the day which was tomato with a ton of goat cheese on it. The sliders were ok. I'm not sure how they're a good appetizer since there were two fairly substantial sliders that were different flavors. My date got a burger and fries. He seemed relatively pleased about his choice, even though he thought it was a little pricey for a burger.
I've also been here for happy hour during the week and I think that's a much better deal for this place. I'd suggest that way over going to dinner here.
After hungrily wandering the streets of Westwood for what seemed like days, we spotted a place that had just what we were looking for: food that sounded palatable and sweet happy hour specials. And, The Glendon Bar & Kitchen turned out to be a great find.
For drinks, the waitress recommended the Slendorita Black, but I decided to order a Hello Kitty instead, and I now wish that I had gone with her suggestion. The Hello Kitty (champagne, St. Germain and raspberry) was not a lot of cocktail for $7.50. It was not bad, but it could have been a lot better. I think I was suckered in by the cute name.
Anyway, after pouring over the happy hour specials for an exceptionally long time, I finally settled on the Glendon thin crust pizza ($6.50). This was an excellent deal. It was topped with mozzarella and gorgonzola cheeses, spinach, bacon, mushrooms and caramelized onions. The pizza was a great size, and every ingredient was thoroughly delicious. Each slice was piled high with tasty toppings, most notably the bacon and gorgonzola cheese. It just tasted spectacular, and I was very pleased with my choice.
If that wasn't enough (or, really, way too much) food already, I also felt the need to complete the meal with some dessert. As I'm not a fan of pie or bread pudding, I went with the cookie plate, which consists of an oatmeal raisin, a lemon and a chocolate chip cookie sitting beside a heaping pile of whipped cream and caramel sauce.
However, the cookies were so hot and moist that they were impossible to pick up. I had to use my fork to eat cookies, which was a weird and unsettling experience that I never thought I'd have. Even with the use of my silverware, the cookies were difficult to wrangle. They were delicious and melty, though, and tasted great with the caramel and whipped cream.
All in all, the meal at the Glendon Bar & Kitchen was awfully good, and the service was also great. I would definitely enjoy spending a few more happy hours at this destination.
My friend and I were straight up starving, so we came to the first place we found that wasn't totally empty at 4 PM on a Saturday. Luckily we made it just in time for happy hour.
I ordered the sliders and a Hello Kitty, which was similar to a bellini, but not as good. Oh well, it was happy hour, and I needed a drink.
My sliders were pretty awesome. They were perfectly cooked and pretty much perfect in every way. I have no complaints.
When you check in on Yelp, you get a discount on dessert. Try the cookies. They are delicious, but slightly mushy, so you have to eat them with a fork, which is slightly annoying. There was an oatmeal, lemon, and chocolate chip cookie. I was happy.
My life long friend was in town from London and we wanted to get together for a drink or two to catch up, so I told her I would find somewhere close to her brothers house in Brentwood and would pick her up. I knew I wanted somewhere trendy, loungy, comfortable and that had a great wine list. Yelp you did not disappoint me!
This place was great! Exactly what we were looking for for this occasion. We made a reservation through open table, but found that we didn't need one when we got there (although I imagine this place does get pretty busy!)
The place has a cool decor and a very low key-classy atmosphere. Our server was friendly and was happy to make recommendations when it came to their extensive wine list. The wine was tasty and not overly expensive.
Our server was very patient with us and let us try a few wines before we actually placed an order. I would love to go back to this place again and would love to try some of their sure to please food :-)
$6 Happy Hour!! From 4 to 7 and 10 to midnight.
Since I'm hardly ever in the Westwood area, I met up with a friend who works at UCLA for a quick bite. I originally planned on being healthy and not ordering from the happy hour menu but when I saw that their salads were about $14, I didn't think twice about straying from the healthy stuff.
We tried the garlic and herb fries which were AMAZING!! They definitely used fresh chopped garlic, I stunk all night! Â My friend recommended their calamari and they were really good too. Bourbon chicken wings were tasty but my favorite dish was the sliders ALL THE WAY...it was simple but the meat was very juice and the flavor was awesome.
I didn't a get a chance to try their happy hour drink specials which ranged from $4 beers to $7.50 specialty cocktails. Most drinks were $6, and they had a few options for wine.
They do validate for parking which is to the right of the restaurant BUT even with validation it was $4. Depending on how long you plan to be at the restaurant, you might consider metered street parking, it's free after 8pm.
First of all, I think calling this place a bar is a gimmick since it's right next to UCLA. This is no more a bar than calling something like Chili's a bar. No... actually this place is more like "The Villa" in Woodland Hills. Anyway...I think they do that to lure in all the college kids. The inside is dark and I guess it would be a good place to bring a date if you're in college.
We went on a Monday night... so maybe this place gets more crazy on the weekend? I cannot attest to this... but there were only a few small groups inside on the day we went.
Anyway, I met the lovely "Bubbles" here for some grub!
What we shared:
* Garlic Fries - These were my favorite! They were cooked with garlic and had bits of fresh chopped garlic bits which were very strong.. but I love garlic so this wasn't an issue for me. We also got them with truffle oil and herbs. Yum! They came with some ketchup and a some more garlic aioli.
* Glendon Pizza - This was a flatbread style pizza. It had a lot of mushrooms, spinach and some bits of bacon. It was good... but was just lacking something. Maybe it needed salt? I don't know. It was okay but it wasn't memorable.
* Mac & Cheese - It was good for what it was I guess. I just tasted a little spoonful... since I don't actually like mac & cheese. hahaha... but it was very cheesy.
All in all, this place is okay. I'm glad we tried it out... but it's really not that memorable.
Great happy hour. Plenty of items on the menu to choose from. I loved the pizza.
Large area to hang out. They gave our group  a big table. Our group kept growing, and people kept stopping by but the waiter was very understanding and helpful. He even gave us all individual bills.
The parking lot is right next door in a structure, so there are not worries about where to park in the area.
I definately recommend Glendon Bar and Kitchen if you are looking for a good happy hour for a large group. They are very friendly and nice to large groups.
Although I've only dined there once (and it will not be my last time), I was SUPER impressed with the food here. The salads are BOMB; BBQ Lime Basil Salad rocked my world. It was damn near perfection, though missing a crunchy element. Maybe some thin tortilla strips?! Just a suggestion since I'm a glutton and more is always better.
The artichoke appetizer also blew me away. The smokiness of the artichoke was fantastic and the truffle aioli was insane. I could dip my thumb in it and suck it for hours.
I have yet to try the fries, which did look delightful. Getting excited just thinking about coming back!
Bottom line: Go there. It's yum-tastic.
The Glendon is a casual bar/restaurant with a nice ambiance and large portions of food (especially if you want to watch sports on the TV). More affordable during happy hour, but they turn the TV up pretty loud so don't expect to have conversations go smoothly here...!
**************************************************Â******************
+ Fries with truffle & herbs
Thick-cut, satisfying fries. Comes with ketchup and garlic aioli dip.
- The Marc pasta
Penne with cubes of grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, pepper, parmesan.
Robust, but overwhelming. Main gripe about this dish was the price...
I expect a $15+ pasta to be really really good! :(
- Caprese pizza
Simple, thin-crust tomato cheese basil pizza.
Happy hour AND Superbowl made this pizza $5.
+ Cherry Bourbon Bread pudding - a new fave!
****TIP: YELP-CHECK IN = $4 DESSERT!****

Not worth a special trip if you're not in the area - but really, not bad at all if you're in Westwood!
Girls worst nightmare and also comfort food: Cougar fries. comes out looking almost like bad throw up. but it tastes so good. and you know it's so bad for your health. but it's so freakin good. help me.
pair that with a nice glass of wine, and there you go. a perfect classy girls night out or artery-logging date. Super crowded. Super loud. Super hipster. But awesome food, drinks , and hopefully good company - Â it's a fine night.
Westwood is slowly improving on its happy hour offerings. For a long while, it seems as if there were only a few options: Napa Valley Grill, Palomino's, and BrewCo. Glendon was the first (of now, many) places you could go and get some food and drink after a famishing and parching day of work at UCLA.
The macaroni and cheese here is excellent, and happy hour includes great deals on cocktails and beers. Is it any better than Napa or Palomino's? I don't know, I think it's nice to mix it up among those places.
Oh yes, and they also accomodate small groups (15-25 people) rather well in the area up top.
My last experience here was disappointing. Â When they first opened they had a much later happy hour and lots of drink specials so I thought this place was good. Its one of the few bars in westwood with a nice ambiance. I came here for brunch once and the smoked salmon/goat cheese/english muffin was good but its overpriced. Not realizing their happy hour ends at 7 now, we tried to come here for a late happy hour yesterday and ended up with the regular dinner menu. Their daily drink specials tasted good but there was so little alcohol in them they are definitely not worth getting. I know it was busy but it look multiple requests and over 20 minutes to get water. Our waiter was clearly not pleased that we didnt order a ton of food and decided to half ass the service.
The worst part was I ordered the pork belly tacos ($6) and it arrived so small my friend thought that it was a plate of garnish. It comes with 2 tacos and they are like the size of my thumb. Even combining the 2 tacos does not make 1 small taco. The world's smallest and priciest tacos did not even taste good. It tasted like reheated pulled pork not pork belly, but its hard to say since it was an infinitesimal amount. These tacos are so ridiculous my assessment of this place went from 3.5 stars to 2.
I would give them 4 stars because of the food only.
I made a reservation for 12ppl and they made me wait for 1hr plus. After trying to talk  to the hostess, several times, asking why we are not getting table the only response was "let me talk to the manager" and that was it! Finally 5 minutes before we got the table, the manager came over and he said "we will take care of you, no worries"... really? The service after was as bad as earlier.  On top of that, the service charge was already included in our bill, which I don't think they deserved even a penny, but we left it as it is.
I should've believe the other yelpers saying that service is bad.... oh well...
Besides that, the food was great we order different appetizers and pizza and I would say everything was great
Ambiance: it is very nice
But just because of the service I would not recommend this place.

We love going here first before ending the night at Napa Valley Grille (their HH is 3PM-midnight).
Good spot to meet friends and co-workers.
RECOMMEND.
