The Grind House is definitely located in an unassuming location, just off McMullen Booth in Clearwater in a big, typical Florida strip mall. My friend who was taking our group there had raved about the food, so we tried to stay excited, but I was not feeling the location. Once you get inside, it's small and deep, with a long bar and dartboards set up in the back. Sort of like a typical dingy British pub, those of us who have been to London agreed. Much more like a bar than a restaurant, which might make you question ordering food... but don't. Order it!

I got the Chicken Pot Pie, which my friend had been raving about. It was crumbly, warm, perfectly portioned, golden brown.. SO good. Everyone tried it and agreed. The mashed potatoes and gravy it was served with were fine, but that was the star.

Other entrees were Chicken Curry, Blackened Chicken Alfredo, and Fish and Chips. The curry was peanut-y and the raisins were a nice touch. The alfredo looked mouth-watering, and from all reports it was delicious. The fish in the fish and chips was flaky and tasty, although there was a lot of batter. The chips, or fries, were very good.

For an app, we got Buffalo Chicken Dip with tortilla chips, and scraped it dry. Very tasty, though not a huge portion. For drinks, we got a mix of tap English ciders and beer and bottled beer.

Everything was pretty good, service wasn't great, but the server was also the bartender. Would go back with another group or friends who live in the area, especially on a livelier night.

This place has the ABSOLUTE best wings in the Bay Area. Their hamburgers, fish & buffalo chicken sandwiches are great too. Everything I've had here is really good. I don't understand why it's not packed all the time. I'm a VERY picky eater when I go out. Everything I prepare is always better than just about anywhere I've eaten. There are a few places with awesome food in the area. This is one of those places!

Horrendous service, lackluster wings & a bland atmosphere.

Stopped in before a concert at Ruth Eckerd hall. The server asked right away if we were going to the show so she could get us out in time. The food was pub food, pretty good- there were 6 in our party, everyone got something different and all enjoyed their meal. they did have Guinness gravy and and a great beer selection!

Great burgers! I like the atmosphere, but when we went it was absolutely dead, so I couldn't see what it would be like if there were a bunch of people in there watching a game or something.

I'll be back on a busier night so that we can experience it when it's hopping.

What a difference a year makes..The last time I visited The Grind House they were still serving Talapia as a the Fish and Chips special. This last visit was totally different, a great attitude from the staff and the fish was back to what should be offerd for the traditionalist. Yes more of a neighborhood venue but different to your average chain and worth a visit if you are thirsty or hungry

I went in for dinner for the first time recently. I ordered the wings as an appetizer which are .50 on Monday nights. They were cooked extra crispy like I ordered which was great. I found it kind of silly that they charged extra money for even 1 ranch or blue cheese. Come on people, at least throw in 1 with the wings. Next I got steak fajitas for the main entree which were mighty tasty. The steak was seasoned well and it was plenty of food for leftovers at lunch the next day. They also had some type of bingo game going on that can be played to win prizes but i didnt stick around long to see how it was. The server wasn't extremely friendly but she did fine and the food came quickly. I would like to go back and try 2 for 1 fish n chips on Thursdays. PS keep an eye out for groupons and http://restaurant.com certificates, which I brought with me at this visit

I was expecting this place to be a little bit more classier and up beat and hopping than it turned out to be. It turned out to be this super low key hole in the wall. Perhaps it was just too early of a dinner hour, but the restaurant was filled with a lot of seniors (and so my friend and I felt out of place) and it was just too quiet, there was no music playing and our waitress looked really unhappy to be there. But the food was super delicious, so maybe it's a better place to go later at night and on a weekend.

What originally brought me here was their lobster bisque, which I first sampled at a street fair in Safety Harbor and I had been craving it since then. Other than being a little too salty the second time, it was still really yummy and earned the phrase "famous". For my entree I ordered the cod and chips and was not disappointed. I may not find myself going back here again, mainly for the distance and the underwhelming experience, I think I'll just stick closer to home unless I start craving that bisque again!

The Grind House Bar & Grill is great for buy one get one dinner deals mid week. Their food boasts "home away from home" flavors, in a bar scene that appeals to many in the baby boomer and elderly generation.

This British bar is home to one of England's classic dishes: Fish & Chips. Lightly battered and fried, this entree was good, but lacked the amount of sides I would like for the price. The remainder of the menu mostly consists of food that you would enjoy during the winters at home, nothing really unique. I originally came here for their Lobster soup which I had tried at a local festival; it was just as rich in flavor and spice as I remembered.

The bar is located in a strip mall, and attracts a more elderly crowd. I'd say it's great scene for an affordable midweek date with a friend.

Went there specifically for the cod fish dinner..they do have a special on Thurs for it but we happened to land there on a Wednesday. The service was good by itself however somebody else on this site said fish portions were big..im not sure where they got that because a small order you get one 5 ounce piece of fish and we order'd the large..we got two pieces of fish and about 20 french fries with it and had to pay a extra dollar for slaw..talk about being nickeled n dimed..the fish was ok but your not going to get your moneys worth, for sure..ridiculous for $16!! For that kind of money, i should've had leftovers to take home ..won't go back. Better deals elsewhere for less.

The fish n' chips are to die for! There's a $20 for $10 on DealChicken too https://www.dealchicken.…

This is a Crappy sports bar masquerading as a British pub.We started with fresh "crisps"- potato chips that half were cold, greasy, and and fishy tasting. Our main course was fish & chips (which were just frozen shoe string fries). and as for the fish if you like the taste of greasy, battered rubber you're in the right place. Their draft beer selection was laughable- all domestics except for Guinness and no cider. Sorry GRIND HOUSE, Slapping a Union Jack on the front door and displaying one Welsh flag isn't fooling anyone.

The only reason this place gets packed is because there is not much else in the area. The food is forgettable - you can purchase the same stuff from the frozen-food isle at your grocery store.

We had been here in the past and it was a so so experience. So after a friend explained they had wonderful wings, we stopped in for lunch today. We arrived just at 11:30am as they were opening and were their first customers. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We both ordered a cup of soup, the lobster bisque and chili. Both were wonderful and then split a 10 piece of wings that were mild, french fires and the celery that came with the wings. Food was served hot (actually the bisque may have been too warm), and everything was excellent. We will defiantly do this again sometime soon. Knowing they have good food, now we can even stop in for drinks sometime.

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on game day. They had a decent crowd at the bar but the tables were only 3 full including ours. Started with the wings (.45 cents each during games-but .50 cents more for celery -which was white-and .50 cents more for blue cheese-which was homemade) Ordered hot, these were definitely Florida hot. Nxt time we'll get XXXHot. They were tasty and had a slight chipotle taste to them which was nice. Also tried the shrimp & lobster bisque, which was nicely done ($3.99 cup)Stellas were on special for $3 and they have 2-4-1 draughts (the usual American suspects) Ordered a shot off their shot menu, the Silver Bullet, a mix of Patron and Hpnotique, too bad the server had no idea what it was and it took 12 minutes to get to us (Yes the hubby timed it)For dinner hubby had the roast beef dinner special which included roast beef with gravy, roast potatoes, obviously frozen vegis and yorkshire pudding ($9.99). I had the beef & guinness pie ($10.99)which was quite tasty but a bit dry. Luckily hubbys dinner was swimming in gravy so I could use some for mine. The food was ok, I would say the quality was on the same level as the prices. Bad thing about this visit was the service. My god we waited forever for the girl behind the bar to serve us, take plates, bring drinks and she was not that slammed. Later we found out she not only had another bartender helping, but a barback as well (who was on his cell phone most the time) and two owners/managers sitting at the bar watching the games and doing nothing to expedite whatsoever. They also had kids sitting at the bar, taking up seating that otherwise would be used by adults who spend money, which forced us to sit elsewhere, thus enduring the 3 hour marathon for two pints, wings and dinner (which we got to go may I add) Oh, and the bathroom offers no privacy whatsoever as they've removed the door that divides the potty area from the diaper changing area. Tacky!I might go back, the food was ok, drinks were cold, place is clean, but they REALLY need to step up service if they want repeat customers.

You better bring an empty stomach. This place has amazing food and drinks. I went in here for the first time and they were doing a trivia night. Me and my friends got into it and even though we didn't win we had a great time. The service was good and the food came out fast. I had fajitas and ended with a brownie sundae which was to die for. I had a mixed drink which was very strong, but very good.

The owners seemed really nice and they come around to check on you which is a nice touch.
