Valentine's Day reservation for 8:15 PM

8:20 PM : Arrive and drop my wife off at the door. I park and come in and she's still standing at the front without being greeted.

8:25 PM : Finally after being acknowledged, we're asked if we wanted to wait at the bar. We oblige. To set the scene, this restaurant is tiny, every table has someone seated, and the bar is empty except the two of us.

8:40 PM : After awkwardly waiting while nobody once asks if we want something to drink, see a menu, have some bread, apologize for the wait, or even acknowledge our existence, we walked out. As we're walking out, I tell the bartender (who has been carefully ignoring us at the other end of the bar) that we're leaving. She says, "okay," as if she was completely fine with it. Maybe they're used to this kind of thing, I don't know.

I've never felt so invisible and unwelcome. I think I understand now why it always looks so empty inside. What a joke.

Instead we ate at Sushi House just down the road on Rice Lake Sq.

Excellent place!

L'anne is a real gem, especially for lunch.  They have well-priced lunches of $10-15 that are very high quality food.  They use alot of vegetables which are always very fresh and well-prepared.  Their soups are outstanding, and they have a nice half-entree with soup combination.  The tomato-bisque and chicken-noodle are my favorite.  The soups are also great to-go to bring to friends who are under the weather.  It is a great business lunch and ladies lunch spot.  Dinner's also wonderful, but I get there more often for lunch.
