Madison Bowl

Old school bowling alley with greasy spoon food!

We went bowling here on a Saturday night. There was no wait for a lane which was great but this place is really showing its age. Overall, it felt a bit run down and was not very clean, both the bowling lanes or the bathroom. The bar is cash only and the drinks a bit small (yet strong). The prices for bowling were far too expensive. $10.50 per person for 2 games. There were many children bowling at the same time we were which made it difficult to find an adequate bowling ball.

There is retro-cool and there is retro-upgrade needed. Madison Bowl is the latter. I am used to Western Bowl and honestly the comparison probably isn't fair. Madison is much smaller and probably operates on small margins. We had a large group - about 40 + - and they did discount games and gives us free shoes.

The place needs updating and I'm not talking the decor. The balls have large gouges in them and the floors are not waxed quite like they should. They do appear to be purchasing new shoes and they have a Ms. Pacman game which is awesome.

Madison has a bar and grill inside and they did carry Dunkel, Summer Shandy and Little Kings for beer choices. I would not recommend the restaurant.

All in all, it made for a decent time.
