I was okay with my Chicken Shwerma and Chicken Kabob combo. Although the Shwerma was not cut thinly and in the usual long piece form, it did have good flavoring. The Kabob was not on a skewer and had no vegetables? But my meet had good flavor to it too.
I did not like my apple parfait. It was VERY bland. My tea tasted great though!
The food here is pretty good! Â I didn't expect a whole lot when I walked in and even when I'd placed my order. Â But it started with a tasty lentil soup (that came free) and continued with a delicious hummus, freshly made pita bread, and a decent shawarma. Â The size of the meat in the shawarma was bigger than the shaved-meat size I'm used to - these pieces looked like they belonged in a stir-fry. Â But it was tasty enough and the decor was pleasant.
I was also pleased to see that, though they had a big TV, it was not turned on and blaring incessantly, as I've seen at other similar places.
I am so excited to have this place in walking distance to my house! Not only does it serve fantastic Middle Eastern food, it also has regular American standards as well. I could eat their shawarma every day, but it's nice to be able to get a hamburger or hot dog too. I've tried a bunch of different soups and couldn't pick a favorite because they're all really good! The portions are huge and a good value for the money. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. A big difference from CV's. Nice addition to the neighborhood!
Review Source:WOW!!! did I say WOW? I meant WWWWOOOOOWWWW!!!!
I have been told that NorthPark Grill has new owners, with a fresh menu?!?! The new owners are just amazing!!!!!
Their food is simply tasteful. Its a great and much needed change from the previous concept. It has a very home made feel and taste.
It is definitely a much improved joint! Starting from the chicken fatoush salad to the beef shawarma plate I was VERY impressed, NO COMPLAINTS! The portions are great and the service is friendly and welcoming! If indecisive don't be afraid to ask the " nicely dressed gentleman" about their favorable dishes. I was given a free bowl of lentil soup which i will be more than happy to pay for next time. Overall its a great place with great taste!
This place has only been open for a few month and at first it wasnt bad for an inexpensive quick breakfast or lunch. (mainly because it's on my block)But now, in only a short time the service has gone down the toilet They try cheating you out of posted menu items that you've ordered. ie They just left the hashbrowns off my buddies plate because they said breakfast is over at noon, when they openly advertise that "we serve breakfast all day" Refills on a 6oz coffee are $0.75. I'm done with this place.
Review Source:This site has been though many incarnations over the years. The most recent is Northpark Grill. The new owners renovated the place so it looks better than it probably ever did before. The service was very friendly as well.
As for the food.... not so good. In addition to the usual burgers and hot dogs, they serve Middle-eastern fare such as shawerma, falafal, etc. I ordered a combo of shawerma and potato chops. Although the menu listed it, they did not have rice. I did not want fries, so the man suggested onion rings. Well, the onion rings were like concrete. The shawerma was tasteless and had to be chicken, because it certainly was not beef. The potato chops were lousy too. Christopher had shawerma and was not impressed and the lentil soup I brought home for mom was dreadful.
I am giving the place 2 stars because I really hate totally trashing a new business. Maybe the burgers are fine, maybe not. They probably get a fair bit of business from all the schools in the area, but these old bones will take a pass on any return visits, thank you very much.
