Old Point Tavern is a great little place on Mass Ave that serves great drinks and even better food. It's a small establishment, but packs a huge punch in terms of quality of service and food. The inside of the restaurant is really soothing in a strange way for being a bar. There's a soft red glow throughout the building and neon signs everywhere with smallish tables that provide personal experiences.
First, let's mention their nacho mountains. Their nachos are insane. They are piled so high I don't know how they waiter brought them out without them toppling over. They offer several kinds of nachos, including chicken, chili, vegetarian, and regular cheese nachos. There are tons of ingredients that accompany these platters of cheesy chips. I've heard extremely positive things about all of their salads. I'd love to try their crab cake salad and chicken basil salad. The double decker BLT also haunts my dreams. I feel like Old Point Tavern tries to make their delicious food as tall as possible. No complaints. They have a great beer and wine list also. They have draft beer specials daily (staff pick) as well as domestics, imports, and micro brews. Whether you want quality or quantity, this place has it.
This place has a lot of potential - great atmosphere, location and friendly staff, but their achilles heel is definitely the food. This became apparent when no one else was eating there at 7pm on a Friday night. I ordered the nachos thinking ' come on - nachos, they are delicious by default.' Wrong. The most bland plate of nachos I've ever had. With the winning components this place has going it could pack that joint if they had good food. I'll go back to drink, but that's all. From what I saw, that's all anyone goes there for which is fine.
Review Source:Love the chili here! It's got a good kick to it but you can get it with cheese or sour cream added. Meat or no meat. Â My fav is the chili and half a sandwich. Sprouts avail for the sandwiches. The vegitarians in your group should find a good selection here as well. Atmosphere was great on a friday night. Attentive wait staff and prompt service. Will definately be back for some moe chili on the upcoming cold winter days.
Review Source:This place is great in the summer for outdoor people watching while having a few drinks and some great food. Â They don't have a full kitchen, but you can tell their menu is by no means limited. Â Some of my personal faves are the (meat) chili, BLTA (with avocado), and Stuffed Stuff (love the pineapple shell filled with chicken salad and served with cubed cheese and pineapple chunks). Â Their bacon is delicious, and their nachos are gi-normous! Â Get the deluxe! Â
Beer selection is usually pretty good - they do rotate a lot of seasonals and have many local options. Â I'm really glad that IN is non-smoking now so that I can still enjoy their cozy restaurant in the cold winter! Â
Very few and small TVs if you're looking for a game but still a place worth checking out.
Get the nachos. Do it.
One of the best outdoor spots on Mass Ave. Good beer list and good food. They don't have a full kitchen, so nothing fried, just great sandwiches (basil chicken, pulled pork and club are my favorites) and of course, the nachos. They are big enough for 2 or more, but I have been known to eat the entire thing myself. So good.
Now that the city is smoke-free I don't mind sitting inside (although it can get pretty loud inside), but their patio is where it's at.
They have a pretty good bloody mary from what I remember...
The location of this bar is pretty excellent. A nice patio, and rotating specials every day. Great view of that creepy dancing circle-head thing on Mass Ave.
That said, the staple menu is kind of vanilla and the plates are too small for every single dish served. I had a really hard time keeping my salad on my plate. I appreciate giving me more lettuce for my money, but it was extremely difficult to eat.
Old Point makes their own cucumber vodka, which is definitely delicious. One question, why not garnish it with a cucumber?
i think this place is just okay. Â It's no Chatham Tap, I'll tell you that much.
The patio is about all it has going for it, really. Â And it is a good patio. Â if it weren't for the patio it would be a no go. Â In fact, there have been times when I have come here and realized the patio was full and the inside was a billion degrees so I left and went to Chatham.
I haven't had a lot of the food, but what I have had was, like I said, just okay. Â Same with the service, not terrible but not anything to tell your friends about.
I will try the nachos soon and update, hopefully with better results.
I swung by this tavern on Saturday afternoon right after attending a huge flea market sale in the Woodruff place neighborhood, what a fantastic place to live, homes dating back to the mid 1800's.
The tavern is located in downtown Indy, its nestled in a unique place where there are similar trendy taverns. Â The feature an outdoor patio which is mostly covered, looks like about 50 seats. Â We sat outside and I ordered a local beer, Sue went for the Bud. Â She ordered a humus appetizer, looked and tasted delicious, loved the grilled pita slices. Â I ordered a greek salad, it was good but not great, I'm really fussy about Greek Salads, I've eaten my share of good and bad. Â I have to tell you, the Nachos they serve at this place are on steroids, seriously, I've never seen them piled that high and all for about $8 for Vegetarian and $9 for the Chicken, just incredible looking. Â I saw some of the other food, looked really awesome as well. Â Our server was really nice and attentive, loved the vibe of the place.
If you have a chance swing by, it's a bitchin place to be on a weekend, I bet it rocks at night.
Old Point Tavern is a consistent go-to during my limited visits to Indy. Nearly every time I visit home, I want to go here; I just don't always make it here.
PROS:
-Good service; some of the folks have been working here for years.
-Vegetarian chili. Whoah. Add all the fixins for me -- cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, hot sauce.
-Nachos, vegetarian style. Just a messier version of the chili; delicious nonetheless.
-I credit OPT for helping me break the cycle of cheap college beer I once drank.
-People watching from inside or out on the patio is a hoot.
CONS:
-The tortilla chips do not match the awesomeness of the chili.
-I don't go here enough. That is the only other con I can think of.
Can I say holy Mt. Nachos!! Â
I was recommended by a staff member of the hotel to give this place a try. Â
"You can't miss it, there is an LCD screen of a girl dancing like this (insert a visual of the girl actually showing me the dance) and it's right there"
So I also get the nachos, which I believe everyone person in the place had and order of. Â Â Now they are massive. Â Â About 4 inches high, and 12 inches long - but they make the same mistake that every poor nacho maker makes....
Mistake:
1) Place two to three large handfulls of Nacho chips on a plate.
2) Cover and drown only exposed top layer of nachos with cheese, chicken / beef, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Â
3) Charge hyperinflated price for a $1.75 worth of chips and toppings that only 1/10 of my nachos are touching. Â
WHY CAN'T YOU LAYER THE FREAKING NACHOS? Â put one handful of chips down.... cover in cheese, meats, and sides.... Â Â Â Â Next layer of Nachos..... repeat covering technique. Â Â Â Final layer of Nachos..... Â Drown per usual. Â
THAT is worth $15 in my book. Â
Also the beer was good.
For whatever reason, this place has become a new favorite spot to have a pint. I've been coming here sporadically for a number of years, but something has recently "clicked." Maybe it's the non-smoking? Maybe it's the atmosphere? Staff? I don't know exactly, but I will continue to saddle up at the bar and watch whatever is happening around me (such as choreographed marches to crucifixion on mass ave).
Review Source:This is definitely one of the spots I hit up frequently in the Spring and Summer to enjoy their patio, which is a great people watcing spot with a great view of the city.
I love to come here to enjoy a few drinks when the sun is beaming down, with some great food and great friends. I love that it's Non-Smoking, even on the outside patio, but even for my Smoker friends, they can still stand within talking range on the sidewalk and smoke it up.
It has several vegetarian friendly meals, and my favorite is the Josie sandwhich, which is a healthier choice than the sky-high nachos!
They have a good selection of beer, and some drink specials. I love their Bloody Marys, but at $6 a pop in a very small glass, I usually have one and skip to something cheaper.
But as a 25 year old, who looks fresh out of high school, seeing judgment in the server's eyes as I order my drink may have been the reason they didn't get 5 stars.
Either way, Great food, great location.
After a few year hiatus, the news that Old Point went smoke free got me back in the doors and bellying up to the bar. Â The local beer options and light airy atmosphere have kept me going back. Â I have never been a huge fan of the food and it doesn't look like the menu has changed in the past few years. Â My favorite thing is to go when it's still light out and sit at the bar taking in the day; the sunshine and the passing traffic. Â It's a great happy hour, pre-dinner drink spot.
Review Source:A year ago, I stopped into Old Point Tavern with some friends as part of a Tour de Mass. Â They had a respectable selection of bottled imbibables, a unique vantage on The Ave, and a cozy, neon haze. Unfortunately they were still a smoking establishment, and I sadly left, not planning to return for dislike of showers required to wash the smoky smell out of my hair.
Cue last weekend, when long awaited spring showers forced an abbreviation upon a leisurely stroll with an out-of-town friend. Ah, what joy! Non-smoking since the Super Bowl! Retained list of drinks! Enduring neon haze!
Here are a few more exciting features, should your interest not be adequately piqued:
1. Woodchuck and Strongbow. (Two cider options!!)
2. Outside patio seating.
3. Tellys for you sports fans, round tables for you chatters
4. Dancing Lady within sight.
So what I'm trying to say is that if you wrote Old Point Tavern off like I did, you should give it another shot. They've been doing things right all along, but now you can go there without needing a shower after (unless you do other things that require showering after a night on the town; have fun and be safe, kiddos!).
Like most businessmen, I had an affair in the Midwest. She was the Chicken Salad Sandwich at Old Point Tavern, Indianapolis, Indiana. Over the course of one weekend, we dined together twice. I've kept fond memories of these brief, but exhilarating encounters ever since.
Three years later, I find myself in the Circle City once again and I wonder if she's still kickin' around downtown. To my luck, she sure as heck is. And she hasn't changed a bit - full of that same Midwest charm, still thick and creamy in all the right places.
But before I get too carried away with any more sexual innuendos about sandwiches, let me stop myself right here and do a bit of straight-shooting for you. This thing is tremendous. I've had a lot of chicken salad sandwiches, but this may very well be my favorite. Tightly packed between two thick pieces of white toast are (un)healthy amounts of mayo, a chicken coop's worth of diced white meat, a juicy tomato, and fresh dill. There are different schools of thought as to what herb works best in a chicken salad, and most are partial to tarragon. But after trying Old Point Tavern's version, I gotta say the fresh dill makes all the difference in the world. And when served with a heap of kettle-cooked potato chips, could you really ask for anything more?
Well, I tried - I might've pushed my luck with their signature Chili. The cup I ordered delivered a little kick, but other than that, it was ultimately bland and undeserving of its self-appointed "world famous" menu descriptor.
As for location, It's hard to miss Old Point Tavern when you realize she's on the same corner as "Ann Dancing", a popular, four-sided art sculpture of an LED woman swaying from side to side. It's also hard not to get sucked in by its old-school persona, from its pressed-tin ceiling to its black-and-white checkered tile flooring. Not to mention, it's recognized as the second oldest bar in the city, having obtained a liquor license since 1887. To me, it has a bit of a "newer" diner feel than that of a historical watering hole, evoking '50-style Americana decor and pumping a heavy rotation of blues and oldies through its sound system.
But whichever decade you choose, Old Point Tavern is certainly on-point. And if you run into that chicken salad sandwich, tell her that I'll see her again in approximately three years' time. Until then, I'll be thinking of her.
OPT was the only place I could find that was open during the great ice storm of '11, when my car was frozen to the ground and my friend was finally able to escape her house to pick me up. The best Old Point story I have is when I was there with a friend; we realized TOTS had a show opening so I thought I would run down there to get tickets before we got our dinner. Well, I misjudged the distance and he was the recipient of many dirty looks while he ate his dinner while my untouched chili sat across from him.
Old Point has decent food and strong drinks -- and a small patio in the summer. I really couldn't ask for more.
I love Old Point Tavern!!!! Â The atmosphere is awesome, it's super cozy and has a great warm feeling on cold nights. Â It's sort of weird bc i think i might be the only person who loves this bar more in the winter than in the summer months. Â Actually i usually skip it in the summer. Â
One great thing about this place is that they always serve food! Â it's hard to find a late night menu that doesn't consist of fried foods and i believe that old point doesn't even have a fryer. Â Also, pretty much anyone can eat here. Â They have fantastic options whether you're veg or carn. Â
I would recommend this place hands down if you're looking for great late night service and food!
Anytime I'm out in the world I travel past this place thinking, "I wish I were those lucky folks on that patio, but then again I don't like being crammed amidst other metal mesh tables where we're too close to tell secrets." (Yes, I have space issues.) Then, there we were looking for nachos on a late Saturday night, and also considering a patio session in the face of 50º weather as it might be our last opportunity to dine outside ever.
Their "Featured Beers" list fooled me into thinking they had those beers on tap. Alas... two other beers on tap: Spaten Oktoberfest and Harp. Oktoberfest beer on a chilly night with chili-covered nachos and chili. I'd say that's mighty.
The enormity of the nachos was striking and fun to devour. The lack of strength in the chips was concerning. The chips at Chatham Tap carry the load. These tremble in fear when I reach for the guac.
The chili ruined my Sunday though. Well maybe not ruined but seriously tampered with my awesome Sunday.
I then found out they pre-prep everything and then microwave it all right before it's served. This explains the rubbery cheese. This might explain why their chili ruined my Sunday.
Their patio is still what makes this place shine. And the service (at least on my visit). For the same money I could've enjoyed the top notch offerings at any of the other Mass Ave establishments, but the price of a quiet patio in public with such a view of Indy is somewhat justified. And just this once... the patio lured me into the grip of mediocre eats. Imagine if this patio was taken over by a chef who did tableside cocktails and had a tableside prime rib blimp cart... Imagine.
Well I debated giving 3 stars...just because when I started going here I got to know many of the servers that worked here. Many of these faces are gone (except you BK). This does not for a second mean that I do not like the servers that are there now....I just got used to the crew.
So let me shake down the 4 star rating. It really comes down to this....I think this porch is one of the best places to have a beer in the city. If you can get one of the 3 tables actually on the point, you could sit and people watch for hours while enjoying a great view of the city. Also, even though I am a huge fan of craft beer (which they have) I also enjoy the comfort and value of a can of Pabst...which they also have. To return to the previous point of countless hours on the porch, my liver and wallet would be unhappy with a 5 hour session of craft beer. One last thing. While many might not think the nachos are the best in town (I know how Ben H) feels about the chips, they are still a Mass Ave staple that can feed 2 hungry mouths (they also offer veggie chili on them, which is a big plus).
So, if you combine all three of those: porch, cheap canned beer and a mound of nachos...I think that is worth 4 stars.
Disclaimer: inside can get pretty smokey...so this is a summertime spot for me.
What you see here is really what you get. Â Don't expect a super clean, classy restaurant. Â This place is about sandwiches, nachos, and beer. Â They have really reasonable prices and lots of beer selection. Â They carry a Texas beer - Lone Star, which is only $2 and always has riddles under the cap. Â Lots of fun.
The nachos here are AWESOME. Â This is a great hang for a group, or just a few people. Â I love this place.
Old Point is one of those places that has great late night chicken nachos and a pretty decent craft beer selection. Â The patio is nice and I love that it's a flatiron building right on the corner of Mass Ave and Vermont. Â I wish that it was non-smoking though as it's hard to go there in the winter and not come out smelling like an ashtray. Â
The cocktails are reasonably priced and they usually have specials. Â Overall it's a good place with nice staff, I just wish it was non-smoking!
I've only been to Old Point a couple of times. It's been all right. It's on Mass ave which is good. It has good beer and decent food which is good. Depending on when you are there, it can be hard to find a seat.
My only real gripe with the place is the table service. If you sit at the bar, everything seems to be good. I'm not sure if their servers just have too many tables or if they are just slow at their jobs. I'm not saying it's always slow service even though the last time I was there, I sat at a table for 10 min without someone even saying Hi until I went up to the bar. Sometimes the server is just in such a hurry, that they only hear half of what you are saying and the second half of your order is skipped.
Nothing was so bad that I won't go back. Overall it's a pretty good place. I recommend some late night Nacho Mountain (not their official name for their nachos, but it should be). Â Unless you can eat a ton of nachos yourself, I recommend sharing with a friend.
Final tip: In the process of eating nacho mountain, you will spill little chunks of the mountain all over the table. Make sure you have plenty of napkins and when you're done, clean up what has fallen off the chips or fork and put it on the empty mountain plate. I can assure you no one wants to clean up that mess. It's a mess of happiness, but a mess none the less.
I don't know if I can be objective while reviewing this place, I used to work here for a while. I'm going to try, but it's going to be brief and stick to the facts.
1. The patio is great in the summer, when you could have dogs it was better (not from a server stand point though).
2. pretty decent choices on the menu for vegetarians and non
3. chicken salad and the chili are super yummy
4. If you like smoking and drinking a decent beer, this is a good choice.
5. friendly bartenders, servers...mmeehh and I was one of those
Things I would like to see improved, again I'll be brief and objective
1. better tv for watching colts games
2. juke box
3. speakers outside
4. no smoking inside
I think that went ok!
I felt like I got ripped off in that my chicken sandwich was $7.75. BUT then I thought about it a little. The sides were better, the bun was awesome, and the ingredients were fresh as well as this little bar being located on Mass Ave (rent can't be cheap). Most of the menu items are $8 and up. All things considered, I feel like the pricing is fair.
My sandwich was delicious! It consisted of a marinated chicken breast, house-made spicy sun-dried tomato cream cheese, fresh basil leaves, and roasted red peppers on an awesome soft bun. It was really the bun that put the sandwich over the top for me. The bun was clearly NOT the store-bought hamburger type bun. I'm guessing it was made at Scholar's Inn? Glossy-topped, soft, yellow, airy, not too thick. I will definitely eat that sandwich again! All the sandwiches are served with a side of fresh fruit (honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes) instead of fries...again...higher prices.
My partner ordered the fruit and cheese app $8.25. Again the same fruit mix served alongside cheese cubes (cheddar, baby swiss, herbed white something, and fontina?) and buttery crackers. His draft beer was $5.
There's a nice partially covered patio where you can sit to watch people and the interior is small-ish and can get smoky. Our server did a great job being quick (seriously, our food took about 6 minutes to get to us) and pleasant without acting fake-BFF-ish. Nice selection of local and craft beers and usually a special cocktail too. The patio is often very crowded on nice days which is why we don't frequent this spot but I'm definitely stopping by again. Why did we go this time? I was starving and couldn't get across the NY St. train tracks to go home and eat dinner! We turned around and found good food outside.
A solid place to grab a quick bite or a beer if you're in the Mass Ave area. Â Not my favorite place, but they make seriously generously sized sandwiches, fresh soups and I've never had anything I didn't like there. Â My favorite is the chicken salad sandwich, my coworker always gets the club. Â I had the soup a couple of times and it was really good. Â
Service can be a bit disaffected, but I think that's the jaded hipster thing they are trying to go for :) Â I am usually always there at odd times between meetings so at least I have no other tables vying for their limited attention. Â Obviously not so bad I won't go there about every other time I am in town... Â Prices are good and it's consistent, sometimes that is enough.
Easy parking on the street, some nice shops in the area if you have time to kill before or after - I highly recommend Mass Ave toys.
I want to like Old Point, I really do! It tries so hard -- sort of like the mid-1990's Buffalo Bills...better than many, but in the end, it just can't bring it all home. Three stars is generous, two is a tad low.
"The good/not-so-awful":
They have some great food. They also have some lousy food. So, good luck. My recommendations would be the loaded nachos, chicken salad, or especially the chili (they also have a vegetarian option). The atmosphere is pretty cool -- chill, but still lively and busy.
The best thing about Old Point is the location, ironically, something they'd have to work pretty hard to screw up. Great views of Mass Ave. and downtown.
Bringing me to..."the bad"
Don't worry, though -- there's plenty to screw up. The service ranges from average to downright awful, unless of course, you don't mind waiting for drinks, waiting for beer, and receiving your check about 10 minutes after asking for it. If you're gonna go, sit at the bar. The bartenders are usually pretty cool and offer a great alternative compared to their waiter/waitress colleagues.
Perhaps it's a characteristic of the corner of flatiron buildings (similar to Elbow Room), but on an average weekend night, if you don't breathe tobacco, you don't breathe at Old Point. Poor ventilation and no windows open, even in the summer.
Overall, while I would characterize the overall atmosphere as charming, there is just too much I'd fix -- generally making it the last place I turn on Mass Ave, which, by virtue of location and association, still ranks it above many other places. Other local watering holes are open later, serve better food well into wee hours, and have better drink selections and prices. So, while you could do worse, you can certainly do better.
You down with OPT... Yeah you know me!
Outside seating is a great location for people watching. Â I've eaten here a few times (nachos, quesadillas, etc.) and it is pretty decent. Â Portions are good and the food is a step above the typical barfood. Â Not a huge step, mind you, but definitely a step. Â There is a nice beer selection too.
I might debate between 3 and 4 stars, but will always give the edge to any truly local place.
I've been coming to the Point for almost 10 years now, so obviously something brings me back. Â Having read all the reviews, I'm sorry that a couple of people had such awful experiences there, although I'm not exactly the poster child for this spot. Â I try to give most places the benefit of the doubt when I have a bad experience just once: Â could be an off night, a bad server, a weird circumstance, etc. Â If it's bad twice, I won't return. Â Never had this problem here.
I agree with most of the reviewers calling the service "spotty". Â I've never had a particularly enthusiastic server, though that can be super annoying. (case of the Mondays, anyone?) A couple have been aloof or even a little snooty over the years, but honestly, I'm usually there for the company I keep and for a good bar meal. Â
If you're complaining that they don't have fries there, this definitely isn't your spot for pub grub. Â I LOVE the fact that they don't have fries and chicken finger and onion rings on the menu. Â Some items leave a bit to be desired, but they have the BOMB chicken salad (I have tried to recreate it and I just can't), excellent meat and veggie chili--available fully loaded with my favorite fixins, holycrapgiant nacho mountains, homemade soups which are usually quite tasty, and a nice little greek salad. Â I actually crave some of these items and for that reason, the Point, to me, is a destination. Â
Cocktail prices are a bit high for what you get, but good beer selection, great people-watching whether inside or on the patio, bonus if you're a smoker. Â Great weekend lunch spot. Â (or weekday, but I don't work downtown!)
Crowd has changed a bit over the years, but that doesn't really matter. Â I go for the food and the people I'm already with.
First I should say that I love flatiron buildings. I want to give Old Point an extra star just for being in a charming flatiron. Indeed, the ambiance at night is great with the big windows and the glow of the neon shining in.... But, like Benjamin, I think I want Old Point to do just a yittle bit better.
The food is good but it's not great. There are a decent amount of veggie options. The deluxe veggie nachos are excellent drunk food and the chili is pretty damn good. The Greek salad, veggie sands and veggie burger are just okay. They have a decent micro beer selection (last night I had a nice Upland amber on draught).
The service is spotty--sometimes it's fantastic and sometimes it's just weird (never awful, just off). It also gets terribly smoky when it's crowded and sometimes the music is just too loud. I think of this as a conversation bar so why is somebody's bad iPod soundtrack blasting at 9 p.m. on a Thursday night?
Despite my complaints, I've obviously been to Old Point a lot. What can I say? I do like the atmosphere. With just a few tweaks, this place could be awesome so I'm trying to give a little tough love!
I would give Old Point Tavern 4 stars, mayyybe 5 stars if they would fix just a coupe items.
Stop using cheap tortilla chips! The rest of your food is delicious, but the nachos and chili are ruined with these.
Fix your bar! Â It's impossible to sit at it comfortably.
Ok, the truth is that I really like OPT, and those are just minor annoyances. Â They have great outdoor seating and the vegetarian chili is dynamite! Â I'll never stop patronizing this spot.
I'm simply going to review the food here as I'm not a big 'bar drinker' type and therefore don't know much about how their prices compare.
This place has fantastic pub food. Their Dijon mustard is to die for but you must be careful and remember that it has horseradish with a capital H in it. This stuff is tasty but STRONG! I've had several of their sandwiches and would most recommend the Bratwurst. Also if you get a plate of nachos you should have 2-3 friends to help you eat it.
A good place to grab a craft beer on the patio in nice weather, but I try to avoid eating inside - it's like dining inside a smoker's lungs.
They have a nice selection of bottled beer and some nice veggie options - nachos, pita, sandwiches - and the service is typically okay. Not a destination, though.
I must be going out of my mind, I swore I reviewed this already.
Well, here goes..again.
Old point is certainly an awesome place to grab a seat outside and have a good sandwich and some bad iced tea.
I've been here a few times and I've never seen the inside of the place, mostly because they have an awesome patio. There is something about a downtown patio that I love and this is one of the best.
The food is marginal, I've had the veggie pita sandwich, which I wasn't in love with, and the club, which doesn't really stand out either. And they use that shoddy fountain iced tea which...I mean...really...gag.
I like it because its close enough to work to walk there on a nice day and because of the awesome patio, but that's really it.
This was always a favorite spot to hang out after work when I worked downtown, and my friends still do! It was one of the only places still open when we got off work around 1 a.m., so of course we flocked over to the Old Point. Great staff, great nachos, great beer selection, and great spot to watch people--especially if you sit outside! I still hear my husband say to his friends, "Meet you at the Point!"
Favorite: Chicken nachos to share late at night
Competing with the Slippery Noodle Inn for oldest bar in Indianapolis, this place has an awesome beer selection with cheap, filling bar eats. Â The building is triangular shaped, and features and outdoor patio great for warm afternoons. Â
The bar mixes some peculiar design choices with it's triangular layout. Â I'm a big fan of the paintings of famous commedians, combined with the old brick under neon lights. Â My sister in law used to work here, so that might make me a bit biased to give it a good review. Â Still, it's worth checking out if you're spending a night in Indy.
