I realized, I have been more or less coming here every Saturday the last couple of months.
So it is only right I let everyone in on this breakfast gem in Covington.
Key word is good service, clean(here I would like to reference the anchor grill as the opposite of clean!) and solid food!
The funny thing is that I could easily go to Keystone, Molly's or somewhere on mainstrasse for my breakfast / Brunch / lunch on these Saturdays. But I keep finding myself walking back to Frank's place, because I really like it and like to support my neighborhood locals!
You can get pretty much anything here, and if you have any custom orders, Frank will do it!
I usually get the veggie omelet with a side of bacon or goetta.
Last Saturday I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and got Frank to throw some lettuce and tomato in it.
Great combo, recommend you try that!
But the pancakes are also really good and the burgers equally delicious.
I would sum this up as the breakfast/lunch my dad would cook for me when I was a kid, it might not look like much, but it sure tastes good!
Only thing wrong with this place, is that they not are open on Sundays!
I first visited this establishment about 2 years ago. The food was just as delicious then, but the place was completely filled with smoke. Since the county has banned public smoking, the air has cleared and a place once synonymous with smoke is now synonymous with good food and great company.
The food is what you might expect from a Diner, but it is always tasty and a good value for the money. Today I had the Franco's Steak Sandwich with Fries. The sandwich was well made and the fries were crisp and delicious. Other favorites include, the Double Trouble, which is a grilled ham and cheese with 2 types of cheese and bacon. My wife is a big fan of the Veggie burger, and the Lunch specials are always cheap and delicious. If you want a nice place to stop for lunch, this is the place.
Good Solid Place for a Sandwich or Breakfast.
I walked into the Old Town Cafe on a Saturday for lunch. Â I was expecting Flo' to be barking at Mel (Mel's DIner - I am probably dating myself) but to the contrary The place was very quiet (I bet it is crowded during the week) - I think I was the second customer.
I do want to point out that this place was very clean and probably seats around 50 people.
The  waitress came to me and explain that their burgers are prepared fresh daily and is a solid thing customers get.   Their menu was limited to the starndard Sandwich / Salads you see.  I just had an awesome burger last night and wanted to try something else.
I ordered the Franco's Ribeye Steak Sandwich. Â The sandwich had a Ribeye Sliece on it about as thick as a burger with grilled onions and cheese. served with crinkle cut fries.
My sandwich and fries were cooked very nicely and had good flavor but nothing over the top..
I was hoping for something more because I travel so often and eat out. Â Â It was nice to have a solid meal.
Food - Ribeye Steak Sandwich with Cheese and Onions with crinkle cut fries. Â Well prepared and very basic. Â They serve breakfast and have a good selection of burgers. Â
Atmosphere - Diner feel that is very clean. Â
Cost - Total Bill as $7.50 (included my drink).
I will definitely return and try their breakfast.
