The only time I have been here is early in the evening, so I do not think I can judge it well. Â Early in the evening it is pretty dead. Â It is a late night dance club. Â But if you want a quit place early on it is alright, but almost to quiet. Â Nothing I can say overall is wrong with it, just not the type of place I normally go to. Â I have to admit, I have not figured out this trend for dance clubs to have a lot of TV's that tend to primarily show sports, it seems out of place.
Review Source:I've been here a couple times and never been particularly impressed. To me, clubs should only be in Vegas, Miami, and NYC. PLAY pretends to be a big city club, but I couldn't stop comparing it to real clubs.... ya know, with lines, a rocking DJ, and bottles being carried to tables by pin-up dolls.
This one just doesn't make the cut. The last time I went here, I was with some family, friends, and an anonymous Bengal defender. We lasted two shots and a beer, and were gone within half an hour.
I have been here twice and have had a good time and an average time(this is more a source of the company I keep than the location). PLAY looks pretty awesome when you walk in, but once you're there for a while, and tired of dancing in a sweaty mob, it kind of wears down. Mind you, some people can do this for hours, but I wasn't as keen to do it the one night I was there, so keep this in mind.
The drink prices are pretty average, so no complaint there. I will say that you should avoid the VIP. The main floor wasn't awesome, but the VIP just was not very cool. I know people look for a relaxed setting when going in here, but this just was too dead for me. I got back out on the floor pretty quickly.
Again, I am not the best judge of night spots, so take that how you want.
