The only time I have been here is early in the evening, so I do not think I can judge it well.  Early in the evening it is pretty dead.  It is a late night dance club.  But if you want a quit place early on it is alright, but almost to quiet.  Nothing I can say overall is wrong with it, just not the type of place I normally go to.  I have to admit, I have not figured out this trend for dance clubs to have a lot of TV's that tend to primarily show sports, it seems out of place.

I've been here a couple times and never been particularly impressed. To me, clubs should only be in Vegas, Miami, and NYC. PLAY pretends to be a big city club, but I couldn't stop comparing it to real clubs.... ya know, with lines, a rocking DJ, and bottles being carried to tables by pin-up dolls.

This one just doesn't make the cut. The last time I went here, I was with some family, friends, and an anonymous Bengal defender. We lasted two shots and a beer, and were gone within half an hour.

I have been here twice and have had a good time and an average time(this is more a source of the company I keep than the location). PLAY looks pretty awesome when you walk in, but once you're there for a while, and tired of dancing in a sweaty mob, it kind of wears down. Mind you, some people can do this for hours, but I wasn't as keen to do it the one night I was there, so keep this in mind.

The drink prices are pretty average, so no complaint there. I will say that you should avoid the VIP. The main floor wasn't awesome, but the VIP just was not very cool. I know people look for a relaxed setting when going in here, but this just was too dead for me. I got back out on the floor pretty quickly.

Again, I am not the best judge of night spots, so take that how you want.

Maybe I've never gone to PLAY at the right times, but it's always been a bit empty whenever I've made my way to this bar. The music isn't bad, has a good beat to dance to, but the overall atmosphere is bland. You get a small group of people dancing, and the most people are just off to the side. Not as high energy as i thought it would be.

Secondly, the drinks there are pretty mediocre. I asked for a Captain and Diet, and not quite sure what kind of rum was used, but it definitely tasted like rubbing alcohol in a glass.

Overall, could be fun if you get a decent group for a happy hour, but not my go to on where to end the night.

Went to play last night for the first time. Walked in around midnight, hoping for a fun filled dancing evening for a friend's bday. Instead the bar was dead, had roped off "VIP" areas that's clearly weren't being used or close to being reserved. The DJ was on stage with some people dancing behind him but when me and my friends hit the dance floor, the music was too awkward to even dance to. Bad atmosphere, bad music and some rude staff... Wish I could have my $35 bucks in drinks back!

What do I love about PLAY? Well, the music doesn't suck! And the dance floor actually has PEOPLE on it!!! Oh my God, what a concept. You'd think this wouldn't be too much to ask for, but every time I go to Lunar for example (which does have good music), the place is an effing ghost town til 12:30. Not so with PLAY...it was already starting to fill up at 11. Another great thing is that, unlike some of the other places around here that will go unnamed, the crowd isn't just all college kids or all creepy old people. Age groups are more evenly represented...or at least they were the night I showed up. The only reason I had to knock it down a star is that drinks were a bit expensive -- 3 Red Bull vodkas for $25. But hey, at least they were served in sizable glasses. Cover is the standard $5, which I'll gladly pay for a good experience. Next time I decide to head downtown, I'll remember this club as one of the better options.

So my boyfriend and I went here again the other night and we really did not enjoy our time there that much. Not only was it impossible to get a drink at the bar due to lack of bar tenders working (on a Saturday night might I add) but also the place was packed and terribly uncomfortable. It was so packed that I was afraid of it being a fire hazard. My boyfriend and I decided that we won't be back here unless we have a table.

I must note that this review only reflects PLAY's Happy Hour. We were not here late night. With that being said -----

On a Friday night with little cash in our pockets, we made the decision to head out downtown and hunt down a bar with some good happy hour. We ran to all of our favorite happy hour spots and were so disappoint. The place was either packed and with no available bar seating or super lame and ended their happy hour early. After striking out, we got a little desperate and made it our goal to pop in to every restaurant/bar until we struck gold.

I kid you not we went in to over 15 different bars! How hard is it to find a somewhat chill place with cheap booze on a Friday night....EXTREMELY!  Finally we found PLAY. We walked past the bar and it immediately caught our attention with the flat screen TVs in the window. We poked our heads in and instantly said "ooooooo wow". This place is very cool and very new in the inside. It is not to fancy but yet it is. It is very open which I bet would be nice for the late night crowd who just wants to dance. The best part of this brand-new bar is the happy hour which does not end till 9 on Friday night. When the bartender told us that we decided to sit down and make ourselves at home.

The bartender was a very nice guy. He served us our cheap drinks happily and told us the scoop on this place. Apparently, the owners are the same guys who once owned Black Fin. They are local guys who are doing this all themselves without buying ads in the paper or advertising. By the looks of this place and the quality of the staff, I am sure that the word will spread about how cool this place is.

I would love to get a group of friends together and meet here for a happy hour. It is definitely big enough bar space for a group. The price is good, the space is clean and cool, and the staff rocks!

I'm not much of a club-goer, but I must say that I enjoyed my time at PLAY! I came for a friend's birthday and was happy to find out that they allow "lists" like other clubs so we didn't have to pay cover *and* the birthday boy got drink tickets.

There are two bars - one at ground level and one about 5-steps up from there across the dance floor. (The wall next to the bar that overlooks the dance floor serves as a nice perch if you're on the prowl, gentlemen.) The bartenders are very attentive and the prices, though high in my opinion, are comparable to other bars in the area (Bartinis, Mynt, Cadillac Ranch, etc.).

They have many TVs that had football on until the games were over. The DJ and dance floor were both on fire and it was just an overall great time!

Let's just see if my great time is enough to make PLAY last longer than other new bars that pop up downtown...
