I had the privilege to attend an event at the Regency Club about two years ago. The food was incredible and the staff was extremely attentive. Â I have since conducted several business lunches and dinners at the private club. Â I am going to credit my business success to the chef's food and the staff's service! Â I highly recommend the Regency Club!
Review Source:Yesterday I was privledged enough to be in a room with some of the greatest minds in our country. Â An event honoring many great scientists from all over this country, for their amazing work and dedication to "improving the human condition". Â
The guest list was impressive and I felt a little malapropos and out of place with the high brow, upper class, conversative white folk. Â (The only reason we managed to creep onto the guestlist was because of my cousin's boyfriend who is interning for a stem cell research company) Â The govenor was invited but didn't show up. Â However, I was not disappointed by the people that did. Â The Speaker of the House was there, along with the Senator, Mayor, Eli and Edyth Broad (billionaire philanthropist), and scientists from all over the country talking about their amazing work targeting diseases such as sickle cell, AIDS, and cancer. Â Using new technologies and experiments in hopes of finding a cure. Â It boggled my mind how influential and crucial all these people were and I was casually rubbing shoulders with them. Â I was truly humbled by their genius, innovation, drive, and the fevor and passion that was self-evident in them all. Â
I have no jokes. Â No funny come backs. Â Nothing witty to say.
I was sad because we didn't get to stay for dinner, and I probably will never get the chance to have dinner here since its by invitation only or if you know a member. Â I however did enjoy the appetizers they had floating around the room which included lamb lollipops, new potatoes with creme fresh and caviar, and cured salmon en crut. Â
The ambiance of the place was absolutely spot on. Â The place just gave off a feeling of old money sophistication. Â Nothing too over the top but true refined Americana. Â The decor was rich and elegant and the Christmas decorations were really cute. Â There was even a cute gingerbread house. Â
Memory of the night:
The old mayor smiling at me and my sister and letting us stand in front of him so we could see better. Â Glad to see some people are just sweet by nature. Â
The two glasses of wine made me forget for a second how bad my feet hurt. Â I never turn down free alcohol :) sweet
The food is always great and consistent and the service is top notch and professional. Â The catering managers are always very helpful with every step of an event. Â
One of my favorite things is looking down the window from the top floor and looking at all the suckers stuck in traffic, while drinking a nice martini and chowing down on lamb popsicles.
I came to the Regency Club when my parents were visiting me in LA from Philadelphia a month ago. Â My parents have long been members of a private club in Philadelphia, called the Union League, that has a reciprocal agreement with several LA area clubs including the Regency.
The food was excellent, which surprised me given that my expectations for "club" food are low. Â Having grown up on the East coast enjoying attentive service that is neither colloquial nor intrusive (as seems to be the norm on the West cost), the service at the Regency Club was exceptional. Â I can't speak to the price of our dinner, as the bill was automatically sent to to my parents' account at the Union League - another indication of the subtlety and refinement of their service.
And the views of Westwood, Brentwood, and Bel Air were beautiful.
Sucre Bleu! Â Oh mon Dieu! Soudain, le creme brulee at le Regency Club is che magnifique! It was... how do you say? Â An outer body experience having this creme brulee. It is made with a vanilla, heavy cream and fresh berries that sat nestled in a ramekin. Â It was perfection and divine to savor. This creme brulee was torched golden, forming this crispy top that crackled as you broke into it with a delicate tappy tap of the spoon. Â Ahhh... the carmelized sugar... so fine is le creme brulee at le Regency Club.
The desserts here are divine. Ahhhh... to be bourgeoisie and a member of such an elite club. Sucre Bleu, rich bastards that belong. I'm jealous you can have creme brulee all the time.
