So, we came here with a KGB voucher $8 for $20. The food is quite good, but not a great selection. The waitress was nice, but there was some language barrier in talking with her. The lemonade is $3. My fiancee and I use these "deals" often, and always tip on the full price. Sadly, they automatically added 18% when we got the bill -- not having told us beforehand. It isn't KGB Deal policy to do so. The man at the counter complained that too often folks tip on the discounted price. Still, not a good move to have added it automatically without telling us. It is an enjoyable venue, but not a place I'd frequent.

Oh, food court across the street - why do you tempt me?  How do I fall for your expensive yet uncreative salad bar so often?  Your Sandwich Works stop does make an incredibly delicious smoked turkey sandwich and has very friendly and efficient preparers.  You do almost always have open seats, even during the busiest part of the lunch hour.  And you do have a lovely seating area by the river when its nice enough to sit outside.  It is always a nice surprise when you feature something yummy at the hot bar and I especially love your sushi days..even though the lines are long.

    But still..your salads are expensive.

Good food for lunch and a stellar view of the city but hold an event here. I fell in love with the out door area and asked about holding my wedding ceremony there. The place is owned by Food For Thought Catering and I worked with David, an event planner. Everything went well until two weeks before when I was told that our event was being handed off to another event planner. I was not happy about this but was assures everything would be fine. It wasn't; no one showed up for the rehearsal, they were short staffed the day of the event and my guests and bridal party had to pitch in for set up. Also many of the furniture pieces that were suppose to be moved out of the way never did. My live musicians ended up behind the bar! Needless to say I was very disappointed in the services we received.

This place is a really easy place to go for a cheap lunch.  Even though I dropped by in the middle of the lunch hour, Riverwalk was large enough to accommodate a ton of people with indoor and riverwalk seating.  The sandwich line was efficient and everyone working the line were pleasant.  The best thing about my lunch was that their pricing was on par or cheaper that corporate sandwich joints.  For about $10, I got two sandwiches, bags of chips and pickles.  Not bad at all.  And again, it's by the river... with a great view.

Corporate cafeteria by day... stellar special event space by night (or any other time you do a buy-out).

I worked a trade show/ reception here and was impressed with how well the space adapted to our needs.  It's amazing what a little up-lighting, decor, and rigging can do.  We had about 20 exhibitors and approx 250 attendees.  The space worked very well and created an intimate environment for networking, socializing, and getting some business done.

This space is almost river level and has a patio/ terrace that over looks the water (which can also be bought out).  Conveniently located right on a water taxi stop.

Sidenote:  hidden little gem for after work drinks ON the river, outside. $3 domestics and $5 wine on Tuesdays.  Outside bar open 4pm -9pm.

Let me set the stage on this one, this is a nice cafeteria...not a restaurant. Since this isn't a restaurant, my standards for quality are not as high as usual. As far as cafeterias go, this one is pretty solid.

The salad bar is great and always fresh with employees constantly refilling every compartment. They have a few different types of lettuce, lots of mixins (like sliced grilled chicken or multi-colored bell peppers), and many different salad dressings. They also have a few pre-made salads that they switch up everyday like potato salad, thai noodle salad, etc.

My go-to here is the spicy black bean burger. It's made in front of you on the grill by super friendly cooks, and you can get whatever you want on it. My old trusty is lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions on a wheat bun. It has just the right amount of kick and has chunks of veggies and beans in it. Warning: the bun is enormous and I usually only use half of it.

They also have some typical stations like grilled sandwiches, comfort good, Mexican, and salads/wraps to order. I've never ordered anything that I disliked, but I've also never walked away thinking, "I can't wait to go back!"

The seating outside is amazing (right on the river and covered with trees) and even the indoor seating area is large and well kept. It's a good place to go if you work in the building/area and need fast and fresh food.

not bad for touristy section of downtown...
set-up like a cafeteria, you have your grill, salads, sandwiches and dessert stations.  you have the usual "pay as you weigh" salad bar or you can have them toss you a signature salad for around $6-7... not bad at all for the area.  sandwiches will run you about the same price.  although the food is decent, you go for outdoor seating along the river by the wacker-michigan bridge.  take in views of tribune, wrigley and the architecture tour.  would like to give the bar (open 4-9 according to the sign on the door) a shot for happy hour.

After working on a restaurant-less mental hospital campus for 2 years, I will never, ever take an on-premises salad bar for granted.  This cafeteria, bar and cafe is located on the bottom floor of my building.  It gets 5 stars for being an excellent cafeteria/bar/cafe, not because it's the most delicious food ever.  The salad bar has good variety and is kept clean, and there's nice seating along the river when it's warm outside.

It's the cafe/bar that draws me to Yelp to write a review though.  I nominate Citadel for the Barista Congeniality Award - ok, maybe that doesn't exist, but she deserves to be acknowledged.  She is the friendliest, best-humored person in the building.

Riverwalk is located in the basement of my office building, so that's a major plus. Today it was too wet and icky to venture outside but I was really hungry. I went down to the cafe and grabbed a quick bite to eat. For a cafeteria setting (which is what is open for lunch right now...there is also a bar with a menu but that kitchen isn't always open. I'm not sure of the rules) it's pretty good.

And the bar that is also located right there is really cheap. 1/2 prices bottles of wine on Wednesdays and other specials.

During the warmer months they have a patio area open right along the river.
