Lunch prices are about reasonable. Tom yum soup is somehow close to the authentic one (in terms of heat and flavor; not ingredients).  Honestly it is not a very authentic Thai restaurant, but I still give it four-star because the food is not too greasy and it tastes fresh. Lunch hours are busy. Have not visited there for dinner yet.

I used to like this place but now I'm not so sure.
My girlfriend and I went to Siam Square for lunch on Monday and were extremely disappointed with the lack of service and professionalism. We were seated within an acceptable amount of time. There were about 5 tables and 3-4 servers, one of whom was cleaning. No one took notice of us after that. They were definitely not busy or having a rush.
We sat at the table by ourselves for 10 minutes before I grabbed a server's attention asking if someone could please take our order. They said they were sorry and were going to find out who our server was. They came back a moment later and said, with a bit of an attitude, they were our server, they were sorry and no one had told them.
We said it was fine and just wanted to order.
We placed our order and then a few moments later, a server was cleaning and decided to try to get behind my girlfriend's chair, to clean the under the table behind her, and hit her in the back. My girlfriend was physically moved in her seat; it hurt her back. The apology from the server sounded insincere and by that time we just had enough. We just got up and left.
We've came here before to enjoy a dinner but this was our first lunch experience.
It was really disappointing as the staff's communication issues can only be seen as lack of training and care. I question the establishment's hiring practices for this blatant disregard of customer service.
I much prefer to give Thai Spice in Greenwood my business after this experience.
    I don't think I'll be going back.

I wanted to make sure I shared with the Yelpers my outstanding experience at Siam Square this afternoon while it was still fresh.
First off, I have always loved the Fountain Square area and this gem fits squarely in the neighborhood.   The decor is warm and inviting with many beautiful images throughout the restaurant.   While I was a little later than a usual lunch (about 2ish), I felt welcomed and everyone was helpful and patient.
I opted for the Siam Ginger lunch special, which came with a spring roll and a bowl of their Thom Yum soup.   The soup was actually a pleasant surprise.   Described as their "famous Thai Lemongrass Soup" with mushrooms, scallions and cilantro.  It had a bit of a kick, but it was like nothing I've ever tasted.
The meal was something special.   As visually stunning as it was delicious.  The Siam Ginger was a nice blend of julienned ginger with mushrooms, carrots and celery.  Being on the plant-based side of the street since the past summer, I opted for the tofu, but one can have the dish with chicken or shrimp, too.
For a lunch special, it was a great value.
I would highly recommend Siam Square.  I look forward to trying more of their dishes in the near future.
Siam Square.  A wonderful blend of exceptional food, service and decor.    Indianapolis deserves more local businesses like this one.
