I wanted to give it two more goes before I updated my last review to be sure the improved service was not a fluke. Â However, it appears there must have been a discussion with the staff as the service is improved. Â It still seems a little inattentive especially if they are busy. Â I am beginning to wonder if the servers are trying to cover too many tables during busier periods.
There is a lot of hustle bustle. Â This is more true if there is a big game or an event of some sort going on at the grill. Â They do usually have a good beer special. Â This is always a plus for me. Â You can often buy a pitcher of beer for less than a couple of glasses. Â So if you are planning on two beers or with friends the pitcher is the way to go. Â You don' t have to finish it to save the money. Â Though leaving cold beer behind, while not a crime, is a toughie. Â So if you drink the whole pitcher, call a ride. I'm sure they would be happy to do it for you.
I like the Boogas at Tanners. Â I'm down with the basic cheese burger and fries. Â On occasion I feel healthy and sub cottage cheese for fries. Â I think they make a good hamburger here. Â A lot of the other food at Tanners is just okay. Â I haven't had a bad food experience on my visits.
Plenty of TVs for watching games, plenty of energy from the crowd, and rivalry if you are talking college sports. Â So this Tanners is A-OK. Â
Wednesday nights you get 2 Boogas for $9 and Monday's you get a single Booga for $5.49. These seem like pretty good deals to me. There is always a special of some kind just hit up their website for the list. http://tinyurl.com/n4wke…

Ain't nothing wrong with a little bit chicken lips.
Tanner's is as solid as a chain of bars with food goes. This location (119th and 69 Hwy) is one of the better locations compared to 87th Street and especially more than Antioch in Gladstone. Nothing out of the ordinary here, Good food, good selection of beer, and really good specials. Thursday night is steak night - a good price on strips and filets but usually really crowded.
My oldest favorite here, however, Â will always be the chicken lips. I'm happy to eat like a 5 year old ordering chicken strips with their parents steak when it comes to these little guys. Inch thick fried chicken with your choice of dipping sauces. The dijon honey mustard never disappoints when paired with the lips.
Friday night karaoke gets a little interesting, but what karaoke night doesn't?
This is the perfect stop for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack. Add some beer and drinks and it's as good as the chain bar/grill scene gets around the area.
Decent selection of beers on tap, good burgers & fries, friendly bar staff, taco Tuesdays, trivia & music-bingo nights, all the typical sports-bar stuff. They have plenty of big-screen TVs (usually marked with which game will be showing on NFL Sundays, so you can stake out good seats for your home team's game.) When there's a KU game on the tube (of any flavor), it will on all the largest screens, but that's how the crowd likes it.
Review Source:There are plenty of TV's to watch the game, the cocktails are strong and the appetizers are decent (I recommend you try the fried pickles). That's about all there is to say. It's a good place to grab a table and sit with friends while you drink. If that sounds fun then you'll love it here.
If you want to listen to good music and dance then I suggest you look elsewhere.
